Part 2 of Masks.
Bonnie stood under the scolding hot water, as she ran her fingers through her damp locks. She let herself indulge in a long shower to wash all the grime and other unidentified substances that had made her body their home. She looked down at the blood that had mixed it self with the water below, it wasn't hers of course. It had belong to some irrelevant vampire she had just killed, without mercy, a few hours ago. The blood and gore that she once had found revolting, had some how become one of the things she enjoyed the most in life. Their screams, their cries for help and the look of fear on they're faces had become music to her ears. When she found that the blood no longer stained her beautiful smooth skin, she stepped out the shower, wrapped herself into a white towel and headed into her room.
Turning on the lights, Bonnie was greeted with the sight of her grey painted bedroom. She made her way over to her queen sized bed, looking over at her clock ,it read that it was only 7 o'clock. She was about to take out her clothes for the night, when she felt his presence. She turned around, only to come face to face with the one and only Stefan Salvatore. Was she surprised ? Not at all, this would be the fifth time this week that he's shown up in her bedroom uninvited to discuss to her over and over again about her ''behavior''.
''We've been over this Stefan,''Bonnie said with a hint of annoyance in her voice. He walks over and sits on her bed facing her. He take off his jacket leaving him in a plain white t-shirt.''But you still haven't explained why your acting this way, what caused you to be so..'' Stefan trailed off. '' So what... Heartless, Stefan ?'' Bonnie finished for him, laughing softly. She walked over to her closet and bent down to pull out a T-shirt and a pair of black underwear. Stefan's eyes followed her every movement, she had his full attention and she knew it.
She drops the towel, causing it to fall the floor at her feet, leaving her completely nude in front of him. She turns around to see his eyes travel their way across her body, examining her. As he does so, she can't help but feel little tremors going up her spine. She then proceeds to dress herself in front of him, while he stays silent. ''Don't you like me like this Stefan?'' Bonnie asks. She walks over and sits on him, facing him so that her legs are wrapped around his lower back. She looks into his grey orbs as she tilts her head to the side innocently while she runs her hand through his brown hair.
''This isn't you Bonnie, what happened to the teenage girl that was filled with enthusiasm ? Who's smile and happiness was contagious, who lo-'' Stefan was cut short, when Bonnie's hand met his face. '' Are most teenage girls forced to kill vampires ? Can most of them do magic, Stefan ? I was normal until you guys came along, I lost my fucking grams because of you and you expect me to smile ? If I did, would it make you guys feel better ? Bonnie was beyond angry, she was livid. Her fist we're clenched on each side of her. Without knowing, in her fit of rage, she had random stuff from her room floating. From books, to papers and some pictures of her and family. Bonnie had had enough. ''Because now a days no one gives a fuck about Bonnie but as soon as I stop giving a flying fuck, you care ?'' Fuck you, Stefan.
Without a word, Stefan walks up to Bonnie and for a few minutes, he stares at her and she back at him. She wants to hit him, punch him anything to cause him pain, but she can't bring herself to, she doesn't know why but she just can't. Emotions we're running through her all at once, she was angry, confused, livid but most of all, she was hurt.
Before she could react, Stefan's pulls her flush against him. He hugs her. At first, she fights against him, screaming and kicking trying to free herself from his grasp but to no avail, she's stuck.
''I'm sorry Bonnie''
Bonnie stops moving, she stops resisting and she listened. ''On behalf of the rest of the crew, I'm sorry for the times I fail to thank you after you save our asses. I'm sorry for the time's we get selfish and disregard your feelings. I'm sorry for your grams and your mom but most importantly, I'm sorry for taking away your happiness and your innocence.'' I'm really sorry for killing who once was Bonnie Bennett'' Stefan Finished.
Finally, stepping back a bit from Bonnie, who's face was covered by the vampires chest, she looked up at him.
Cold.
If Stefan could describe the emotion or look on her face in that instant, it would be cold. He expected to look down to see a face full of tears, a small smile or any emotion that is but he got nothing. Absolutely nothing.
''Get out''
''But Bonnie please-
'' Now.''
Before he could take a step towards her, he feels his legs start to move on their own out her bedroom, down the stairs, past the living room full of memories of the family Bonnie had and the pictures of who she use to be, down the hall and out the door.
Until he finally reaches where exactly she wanted him to be in the first place. He's there outside in the pouring rain, starring at the brown painted door that belongs to her home.
He stuffs his hands in the pocket of his jeans, after realizing that his jacket was still in her bedroom. Never minding that, he walks down the steps of her house and begins his journey back to the boarding house. Instead of feeling defeated or sad because it seems that he didn't get anywhere with her today. He was able to get one good look at her face before she had forced him to leave. Even though it held no emotion,
he didn't miss the tears that had stained her smooth porcelain skin. Showing him that he was in fact one step closer to breaking the mask Bonnie had chosen to wear.
