Author's Note: Thank you God, I am so finally done with this drabble series after forever. Thank the Lord, Hallelujah!
91. Singing
Robin remembers his parents singing. Whether it was his father singing "Am I Blue?*" or his mother's quirky version of "Bohemian Rhapsody*", he smiles at the thought and when he discovered they were alive, he knew he could look forward to hearing them sing again.
92. Waiting for Superman
"Waiting for Superman" was a popular song when he was younger. Robin smiles, the Flying Graysons had a routine where he would dress up as Supes and they'd perform to the song. Clark would have loved it. He never told the man about it. The day he introduced his parents to the Man of Steel, they merely smile and feel honored to meet him. Richard later discovered his mom had slipped him a flash drive of a performance to the song. He asked Clark about it, and he only smiled.
93. Fathers
"Father, this is Batman, Bruce Wayne, he took care of me after you died."
John is speechless, unsure of what to say, he is grateful and yet he wonders what would compel the Dark Knight to take care of his son."
"You don't have to thank me," Batman said quietly.
John smiled, "But I will. Thank you for taking care of my boy. He turned out well, just like I always hoped he'd be."
"That wasn't me, I'm not a good father, I try hard, I've never allowed myself to have a normal family. A wife, everything you have now." Bruce smiled.
"Still I never got to thank you for saving us from Tony Zucco," John looked over at the extraordinary man,
"It wasn't enough, he still murdered you and your wife," Batman sighed.
"You took care of Dick, I couldn't ask for anyone else to be a father to him, we don't have any living relatives, and he's turned out very well."
"But you are still his father, and I'm very happy he didn't turn out like me," Bruce gave a small smile. "I'm honored to share the privilege of fatherhood with you."
"Let's go out to lunch sometime, all of us," John smiled.
"Of course."
94. Apples
Starfire noticed Robin swiping an apple out of the fridge as they run out on a mission.
"Why do you have an apple?" she asked.
"It's something my father told me. He said that feeling full dulls the mind, so I eat so I'm not too hungry or too full."
"This is the advice of your mentor Batman?" Starfire queried.
"No Star, this was something my father John Grayson told me before he died."
"You father sounds like he was a very wise man," Starfire replied.
Robin smiled. "He was."
95. Eulogy
Dick knows he had to fake his death, that it was a necessary thing for him to "die", he'd miss his friends, but he was a little disappointed he wouldn't be able to sneak into his funeral to hear his eulogy.
96. Tools
Dick stares down at the gun. It's part of his new job as an agent of Spyral. He didn't have Bruce's hatred of guns, but there was a difference between a vigilante like Jason Todd and what he was going to be doing from now on, he was allowed to use one. The gun was a tool, it could be used for good or bad things, it all depended on the user.
97. Rescued
Mary Grayson stares up at her son, dressed in an outfit identical to the one she made him. She can see the joy on his face, and she remembers dying. She feels joy too, because she's with him too, but also loss, because John isn't there with her, but she's thankful, because her son and his friends rescued her.
98. Thank You
"We never got to thank you, Batman, for everything," Mary smiled at the Dark Knight.
"You'll never have to," he replied.
99. Trouble
The alarm was blaring, for the umpteenth time that day. Mary sighed. "How often does it go off?" she asked her son.
"More times than I'd like it to, I'd prefer if it never went off," Robin replied.
"Go on son, I'll keep dinner warm for you until you and the other Titans get back."
"Do as your mother says, we'll stay here and help if we can," John smiled, "You have a city to save, remember?"
100. Family
Family means a lot to Dick Grayson, and now that he has his back, he'll do everything he can to protect them, whether it's from the League of Assassins or the Court of Owls, he will always be ready to fight for them, because they are the most important people in his life.
*Kevin Conroy, voice of Batman and John Grayson sings "Am I Blue" for a Justice League episode. Gray Delisle voice of Mary Grayson has sung "Bohemian Rhapsody" on her CD Iron Flowers.
