I am so sorry for the late update. 2 weeks late, shamefur dispray.
Quick author's note, when I made this story it's actually not a fanfiction about frozen, I happen to have my own story. So I didn't made the story around the Frozen universe, I made this around my own universe. Just keep that in mind while you read this story. Don't get it? You'll know what I mean when you read this chapter. Quick chapter, nevertheless important in the storyline.
Named this chapter after that song, by One Republic, because I like that song and to lazy to think of a name for this chapter :p, Enjoy.
The night was awake, or rather, the sky was. The strand of northern light lighting up the skies, often referred to the royal sister as the sky being awake. Right at this moment, Princess Anna along with Kristoff is having dinner with Prince Blenheim. Anna, unsurprisingly, blabber on and on. Disappointingly for the prince, he thought he could escape the annoying princess. But, he keeps himself calm and well in manner. At the very least, the two of them were having fun.
Prince Blen was the first to finish his dinner, as he doesn't really doing anything else, unlike Anna and Kristoff. The two lover however, still blabber about. Well, to be fair, Anna was still blabber about, Kristoff was just there responding to everything she said.
The prince sitting on the opposite of the table decided that he isn't going to just sit there and watch the two being all cuddly. He was very much annoyed, and jealous. He is after all still single, although finding the one is still far below on the list of his priority. It's so happen that he thought of the two missing character that's supposed to join them. Queen Elsa and his friend Seff, he wonders where they might be.
"Oh what the heck." He thought secretly, "better than watching the princess all night."
He stood from his chair, holding his handkerchief. With it, he wipes his mouth and threw it on the empty plate.
"Alright then. I think I'll go find your sister or Seff."
"No, wait!" Anna shouted in urgency.
"Hm?" Blen mumbled, asking for an answer.
"They were... uhh." Anna paused for a moment to think. "They were having some private time in your quarter."
"Together?"
"Together, which is why you have to leave them alone, for now."
Blen sighed, "There goes my plan for escaping her" he thought. Disappointed, he sits back down. He then proceed to the next best thing he can do, shoving all those wine down through his throat.
"Don't you just love it, seeing them together I mean?" Anna mumbled on.
"Well, it's great, seeing them friends like that." Kristoff responded to Anna's statement.
"Friend? Oh, I think they can be more than friends, if you know what I mean. Considered Elsa does have feelings for him." Anna said, acting like a fangirl.
Blen quickly gulped down the wine in order to counter that. "Wait wait, how in the world did you even she likes him?"
"She told me, right after you left."
The prince than chuckle to that fact. "Ok, now that guy is just incredibly lucky." He said before continuing on his drink.
"Yeah, he is lucky. I wonder if he has feelings for Elsa." Anna said wondering.
That however was greeted immediately by the light red liquid bursting out of Blen's mouth, followed by him coughing. Once recovered, he strangely chuckled.
"Did you really meant that?"
"Excuse me?!" Anna felt taken back.
"I'm sorry." He coughs some more. "I just can't imagine seeing that happening."
"Why not, I can totally see them get together, like right now!" Anna tries to convince the young prince.
"Right, you're talking about a guy that took 2 different jobs in the last month without taking a break. You know, job like this one. Also, If I'm not mistaken he specifically wrote something about love among the last of his priorities in his journal. Face it, the guy is-"
"You read my journal?"
Came a voice behind the prince. Unsurprisingly, it was Seff and Elsa. They were about to have dinner, nothing romantic, although it might look like it. They were about to have dinner simply because they were hungry and haven't eaten yet. Of course, it differs from what Anna sees.
"Ahh... hi Seff." Blen awkwardly greeted.
"You haven't answered my quest-"
"Got to go, my men need me on the lower deck." He quickly counters and stood up from his chair, not forgetting his coat of course.
"Hey, you-"
"Sorry, can't hear you." As he made his way down to the lower deck.
Seff can only sighed. He looked at Elsa. "That would be why you don't leave your belongings unattended abort his ship."
The fair young queen, retorts back with her smile.
"Elsa, I mean, Elsa and Seff. You're done with the... umm... talking." Anna said nervously.
"Yea, and we'd like to join you for dinner now, since you're not done with yours I see." Blen asked.
"No!" Anna suddenly shouted awkwardly as Seff and Elsa then stared at her.
"I mean, we're just about done anyway. Let's go Kristoff."
"But I haven't finish my-" Kristoff complains, but he was then stopped by Anna menacing stare, on which he can only respond with, "Right, I'm done."
"We're leaving now, enjoy your dinner." She said before leaving with Kristoff, in a hurry of course, leaving Seff and Elsa alone, together, again.
There was a moment of pause after she left with Kristoff.
"Again, huh? What was that all about?" Seff asked Elsa, confused. Elsa in the other hand, can only shook her heads, pretending to not know the answer. Anyway, the two simply shrugged it off.
Being well mannered as he is, Seff pulls the chair first, offering Elsa her seat. Elsa gladly accept his offer and sit on the intended chair. Seff then walked to the opposite side of the table, before proceeding with sitting down on his own chair.
Now, the two are sitting on the opposite end of the short table. There were already various food and dishes on the table, but both of them just sits there, waiting for the other to start digging in to the food on the table. Instead, the two just stare to each other's eyes, occasionally glancing away to avoid awkwardness. This whole atmosphere seems rather familiar between the two of them.
Then a growling noise was heard.
Both of them flinched, but only one of them blushed, and that someone is Elsa. Seff looked at Elsa's cheek turn red and red-er. He chuckled, causing Elsa to feel even more embarrassed.
"Well then, since your stomach can't wait, shall we?" Seff offered Elsa first.
"Ah, o-of course, excuse me." The young queen said, holding down her embarrassment.
Minutes passed, the two finished their dinner, although they haven't left that table. The reason for that was that they are now engaged a entertaining conversation with each other. It was late, although not exactly midnight. The night sent out a calm but strong breeze, and the sea was unusually calm, calm enough for Elsa's laugh to be heard one level below.
Entertaining conversation, at least it was entertaining for Elsa. She was laughing hysterically in sight of Seff's story about his experiences. Apparently, Seff's story is extremely funny. At one point, she even asked for him to stop for a minute so that she can take a breather.
"Seff, wait... I can't." And she continues on laughing.
"That's not even the funniest part. When he had got to the place, he actually forgot the thing. So... so... he has to go all the way back, crawling, go get it, and crawl all the way back to where he supposed to go. I mean it's just... moronic." Seff finishes his story.
He himself had a hard time telling her this, all because he too tries to hold down the laughter.
Elsa tries her best to recover from the heavy laughter.
"Wow, your friends are certainly something else, nonetheless he made a very... very entertaining story. Thank you, for you know, almost letting out all my dinner."
"My friends deserve the credit then, don't you think?" stated Seff. "How about you?"
"Hmm?" mumbled Elsa.
"You know, do you have any story to share? But please don't be anything that will make me laugh."
Elsa giggled, and sighed. "I'm afraid I have no such story."
"Really? I somehow doubt that was the case."
"Well, for me, it was either my room or the library. I never go anywhere or been to places, unlike you unfortunately."
Seff paused, understanding the gravity of her words. "I'm sorry to hear that."
"No, that's quite alright."
Then both of them sat in silence. A few moments later, Elsa retorts again...
"May I ask something?"
"Yea, sure."
"About love, I mean what you written in your journal, about it being the last of your priority."
Seff sighed. "Alright, but let me ask first. What's with the sudden interest?"
Elsa blushed, hearing that question. "Noting, I'm just... curious. You don't have to answer that if you don't want to."
"No, no, I don't mind. I forget specifically when I wrote that part, but I'm pretty sure it was during a crisis."
"A crisis?"
"Yea, I was uh..." Seff paused, whilst Elsa anticipating an answer. However, Elsa then realized that the look on Seff's face changed. He looked sad, but then he shook it away.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, it's just that... bad memories." He looked towards the queen with a smile on his face. "Anyway, back then I had so much in my mind and with everyone yelling at me to find someone, I guess I just... writes whatever I felt at that particular moment. That was a long time ago, barely remembered it."
Elsa still can't escape the sad look Seff emits before. But she shrugged it off, and asked again.
"How about now? Does your views about... love changed?"
"Now? Honestly, I don't know." He sighed. "Maybe, I mean, I don't even know what love is. Do you?"
"Maybe." Elsa answered with a smile.
"Well, Queen Elsa, maybe we can have a cup of chocolate together sometime after this is all done, and you can tell me all about it."
"I'll be sure to remember that then, Mr. Seffiroth." As she smiled back to him.
"I don't think it's anytime close though, I'm afraid."
"Why?" Elsa asked, feeling a little bit disappointed. "More jobs?"
"Pretty much."
"If you asked me, I think you should rest for a while from these jobs." Suggested Elsa brightly.
"I don't think this is the kind of job I can simply walked away from."
"Well, there's someone else other than you, right? Why can't you just asked them to do your job?"
"Elsa, it's complicated. Besides, I don't think I'm in the position to make that call."
"Well, how about Prince Blenheim, I mean, he can do your job, right."
"He's a prince, and as much as he hates to admit it, he actually have his family and brothers worried about him."
"And you don't?" Elsa frowned, pretty much silencing Seff. "I mean, what if something happen to you?"
Seff simply chuckled hearing that. He gets back to Elsa, "I never had someone saying that to me."
Elsa's cheeks reddened. "i-is it wrong for me to be worried about you?"
"No, and thanks." He sighed. "Well, yes, it can be dangerous sometimes, but it's just an occupational hazard I have to live with. Besides, what I did is nothing compare to what some of my mates done."
"Your mates?"
"Yea, people I actually looked up to."
Elsa always thought what Seff did was beyond her expectation, but knowing that there's actually someone else that lives out worse than him can only brought Elsa's mind to question, 'just what kind of order is this Legion?'
"You looked up to your friends that did all those ridiculous things? The one in told me about?"
"Oh, heaven's no. Those are guys are great, but really they're just mad."
The two chuckled, as they remembered the previous story. "No, well there's actually one I have in mind." Seff continues.
"Who is it?" Elsa started to get curious again.
"His name is John, and I think he'll mind if I tell you his surname."
"He sounds interesting."
"Yes he is, he's actually the one who helps me learn the rope when I first joined the order, great guy. He's also a better swordsman than I am."
"I can't imagine someone who can fight better than you are."
"I'm actually pretty average. You know, maybe I'll introduce you to him anytime he's around."
"That would be wonderful."
"Although I'm not really sure if that's going to happen anytime soon."
"What? Is he somewhere far?"
"Yea, pretty much."
"Where? On the other side of the world?"
"Further than that."
Elsa was baffled, hence her silence. Seff then stood and leave the table. He then turned, "Come on."
"What is it?"
"Just come with me, I want to show you something."
So she did. She stood up from the chair and followed Seff. The young man led the queen to the front end of the ship. Most of the crew were already asleep, all except the spotter on top of the sail and the first officers who is now steering the ship.
He set by the side, so does Elsa.
"Have I ever mentioned my stargazing hobby before?"
"You might have, a number of time. Of course, that star of yours," Elsa looked up to the star filled sky of the night. "There it is."
"Well well, since when you started to believe in that star."
"I told you, I believe you the first time." Giggled Elsa.
"Well anyway," Seff clears his throat. "Have you ever wondered how many stars up there?"
"No, thousands, maybe millions."
"Billions." He smiled. "Unfortunately they're all dead."
"Wait, what do you mean?"
"I could explain it, but I'm sure it'll bore you. It's all astronomy."
"My astronomy is a bit sketchy." Elsa jokingly said. "Why don't you tell me all about it."
"If I explained it, we'll both be here until morning." Explained Seff. "I told you all about it, but not now. I do have something else I want to share with you."
"Okay, Mr. Seffiroth, what is it you want to share?"
"Look up." He instructed.
So she did. The young man then asked again, "What did you see?"
"Stars, lots of them." Elsa answered.
"Right, imagine each of those stars are sun, and each of them have their own worlds, worlds like this one. Each of them have us, people, human living in them."
Elsa was confused at first. "What do you mean?"
"Well, not like this one. The same but different. I understand if you don't get it, it's pretty heavy to swallow."
"You mean like what you told me about that star of yours?" Elsa let out a short giggled as she makes that joke.
"Hey, someone knows how to make jokes now." the two laugh. "Anyway, it's kind of one of those secrets we know of, and I think you might find it interesting."
"So, those stars are suns? And that they have their own worlds?"
"Yeah, there you go, you're catching up quite fast."
"Wait, there must be billions of them then."
"Yeah there are."
"So, Seff, what are you trying to say?" Elsa asked for a clarification.
"I'm not making that one up."
"Excuse me, I lost you." Elsa said, now even more confused.
Seff looked up to the sky, and as the time Elsa looked in to Seff's eyes. She saw something she never see before. It's like he's excited, but not the usual excitement. He is in fact intrigued about the whole idea.
"Imagine, even if you have a hundred years to live you still won't know everything out there. There always things out there that will surprise you. Well, that's been my experience in the Legionnaire."
"Wait, so, correct me if I'm wrong. You're saying that there's another world out there." as she looked up to the star-filled sky.
"Yes, and each and every one of them is unique. Some of them have people living in them. People like you and me." Seff retorts back.
"Wow, that is... actually amazing." Elsa was amazed. "So, the Legion knows, and have been keeping it a secret. Will they be alright with you telling me about this?"
"Ah, no."
"Wait, what?! In that case, I'm not listening." Elsa said as she turned away, but then, something grabbed her arm as she about to leave.
"Ah, this is awkward." Seff shook his head, whilst holding on to Elsa's left arm. "I can assure you, its fine. I'll be just fine."
Elsa turned, facing towards Seff again. "Are you sure?" she asked in a low tone.
"Yea, I mean, they might boil me in hot water just for fun but... yea, I think I'll be alright."
That sends Elsa chuckling. The two then looked at each other again.
"Oh," Seff let out a word. "I almost forgot about the thing I wanted to tell you."
Seff clears his throat. "This might be a bit confusing."
"I remember going to this world. It's unique, special, and different from any other world."
Seff can see Elsa's showing her face as she was intrigued, so he kept going. "We called them the world of imagination, simply because of one thing." He paused, so that Elsa can catch up to what he's saying. Not long, he continues. "The people in that world can somehow see everything that happened in the other world, telepathically. It's vague though, more like a vision, idea, or a thought, or even an..."
"...imagination." continues Elsa.
"Yes, like an imagination. Anyway, here's the interesting part. Most people in that world would simply shrugged it off, let it go, or ignore like it was nothing. Some people however, thought of these visions as part of their ideas or imagination. If they're creative enough, they would make stories, which eventually lead to books."
Elsa is still listening. However, Seff didn't think so. Maybe that's just because she just yawned.
HOOAAHHMM
"I'm boring you am I?"
"What? No, no you're not."
"Yes, you are. You know what, never mind let's just get to sleep."
"No, really! Come on, Seff. I'm actually really interested." Begged Elsa. To be fair, she is pretty tired, however, spending time with Seff beats sleeping any day of the week.
"Okaay. Anyway, their world has absolutely no magic."
"No magic?" Elsa said, trying to be interested. Well, she is interested, she just took the liberty to show it so that Seff won't get offended.
"Yea, as a result, they're more advance in terms of technology and knowledge."
"Ahh, so that's how you became so smart."
"Actually, I read books, their books. Moving on, they actually made a story about you."
"Me?"
"Yup, Queen Elsa of Arendelle, the Snow Queen. You're pretty much famous there."
Elsa giggled. "Wow, that's..."
"I actually got a message from my colleague there, asking 'Do you know who Elsa is?' and I answered 'Yea, she's a queen.' Then I was made aware of your animated film."
"Animated film?"
"It's like paintings, moving paintings."
"Wow, I'd like to see that." Now Elsa is impressed.
"Maybe I'll show it to you, and your sister. Since it's about when you freeze Arendelle."
"Ow." Elsa reacted, surprised.
"I haven't watched it yet, always wanted to."
"Wait, when you said they know everything, did you mean everything?!" Elsa suddenly jumped.
"Well, no, it varies. Some of those story might get mixed with their own creative thinking, and therefore altered. It's all very complicated." Seff assured her. "Of course, that being said, it can be extremely accurate."
Elsa's response? Punching Seff in the shoulder.
"Ouch," he squealed in response. "I'm kidding okay. Well, kind of."
They then resumed their casual conversation in the middle of the night. "It was called 'froze', 'freeze'? Something along that line. I imagine it'll be awkward to see yourself like a moving painting."
"Yea." Elsa casually answered. "So, why did you tell me all this?"
Seff thought for a moment. He wasn't sure himself, about why he just broke one of the most important rule, again. He paused, then answered.
"I don't know. I guess, I thought, since you risked your safety for something that isn't yours to risk for, I should let you know the reason. It's the least that I can do." He stated nervously.
Elsa smiled. "Well, in that case, thank you. I have two more questions."
"Ask away."
"Are you from the other world?"
"No, I'm not. I'm actually born here. I left, maybe, for a while, but then I'm back here again. Now I lived here, for at least 6 years now, maybe even longer."
She didn't show it, but the fact that Seff won't leave for quite some time made her happy in a way.
"Last question. If you said they can see anything, can they see us here... just talking like this?"
"Maybe, maybe somewhere out there, someone is writing a story about us." He said, smiling as he face Elsa's freckled face.
Elsa smiled back. They soon find themselves at a familiar position, staring at each other. Soon, the silence fell, followed by the awkward. This time however, things are different.
Elsa felt nervous, but she ignored it. Her mind wasn't sure, although everything, the atmosphere, the silence, yelling at her to go for it. She muster all her courage, and started to place her hand over Seff's hand, which was placed on top of the ship's railing.
"Ahh... Elsa." Seff lets out in a awkward tone.
Her heart races. It's safe to say, she never felt a feeling this strong before. Her nervousness intensifies, but she simply ignored it. With her eyes, she stared straight to Seff's eyes.
Seff felt embarrassed, he knew where this is going.
At first, Elsa didn't say anything, but then she began to stutter a word.
"I... I want to say something."
"Okay..."
She still debating with herself, whether to do it or not. In her minds, 'Elsa, you need to tell him how you feel.' On the other hand, half of it said, 'What if he doesn't feel the same way about you?' That thought scare her. But in the end, she needs to convey her feelings.
"Seff!" she let out, and Seff was startled because of it. "I... I lov-"
"Snow."
"Excuse me?"
"It's snowing."
Elsa looked up, only to see dozens of snow droplets falling from the sky, which was unusual. Whatever season they're in, it isn't winter. They were still standing in silence. Of course, when she thought about it, Elsa immediately responded.
"Oh no, I'm sorry. I didn't know, I-"
"Hey!" Seff grabbed both of Elsa's arm. "It's fine, you didn't do anything."
"What do you mean? I must've done something, I mean, it's not supposed to snow is it?"
"Actually it does snow here."
Elsa put on a confused look. Then, Seff proceeds with his explanation. "I guess I forgot to mention that the cursed peninsula, Olive's Rock, is engulf in an eternal winter. That's pretty much why people say it was cursed. The snow only tell that we're nearly there."
The young white-blonde queen was left dumbfounded.
"So, what do you want to say again?" Seff asked.
"I, it's nothing. We should get some shut eye, before we arrive."
"Ah, okay, great. I guess, I'll see you in the morning."
The two greeted each other's goodbye. Seff went to his bed, feeling absolutely tired. The same can't be said for the queen however.
"Elsa, you idiot!" she thought. She felt relieved, but at the same time she hate herself for not be able to confess her feelings faster. She shook her head. The young queen, above all the young lady who just somewhat found love, now once again debating with herself.
"I talk to him tomorrow. No, I'm won't." That's pretty much what's going on in her head now.
She deeply regrets her decision to just walk away from what looks like the perfect opportunity to say that three words.
Now, she do the only thing she can do. Stuff a pillow on her face, Hoping she forget everything, whilst trying to get some sleep.
I feel weird when I wrote Elsa and Seff, just talking like that. Make me want to punch Seff for being my character. That, and coincidentally I just made this story into a sci-fi, well sh*T.
The usual stuff, see you in the next one. Legion is outta here... Taraa~
