"Sera," Crystal said softly, petting the girl's hair gently as she cried. "I'm sorry I have to do this,"
Seraphina's eyes widened as Crystal put her hand over her head, putting her mind to sleep and knocking her unconscious. Crystal slid to the group as Seraphina's limp body dragged her down. Their dresses were slowly becoming soaked in the mud on the ground, but the skies were clearing up as the power died.
"That was risky," Bunny said as the group walked over and looked down at them.
"I knew she wouldn't do anything to me," Crystal said with a smile, showing them her confidence in Seraphina. "Help me carry her,"
North leaned down warily as he picked up the girl with the long black hair that reached towards the ground. "Where are we taking her?"
"To the North Pole," Crystal told him, smiling as his jaw dropped and his eye's widened in worry.
"You mean she'll be staying in my house?" North asked exasperated.
"It's the best place I can think of to let her be happy and stay safe. After all you live at the North Pole where no one has broken into yet and toys are all around." Crystal explained to him, hoping he'll see her way of reasoning in all of it.
"Do I have choice?" North sighed, hoping he did.
"Nope," Crystal answered, wiping as much mud off of her as she could, but gave up as it was just smearing across the dress. "Besides, I need a shower,"
"What about Pitch?" Tooth asked, staring at the man who was still lying on the floor from the attack.
Crystal gritted her teeth, still hurt and angry at what he accused her of. She walked over to him with her chin high and eye's pointed. She crouched down and nudged his arm, watching as his eyes peeked open and confusion ran over his face.
"If you want to come, you'll have to stay by one of us." She told him sternly.
Pitch raised an eyebrow at her before sucking in a breath, sitting up quickly, looking around the area, and noticing that it had all ended already. He found his daughter in North's arm's, giving him the relief he needed in his heart, but also spawning anger and jealousy and it not being him who saved Seraphina.
"Are you coming?" She asked him, standing up and looking at the others.
Pitch stared at her in surprise, but nodded his head in silence. He kept at a distance from the group as they walked towards the sleigh, knowing that they were all on edge already from what he had said and done.
"Get some sheets!" North shouted at the Yeti's, all of them giving their Santa a confused and puzzled look. "We don't want her freeze death!"
"Crystal," Jack said softly, tugging on her wrist gently to make her stop and look at him. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"
"Honestly, I'm just going along as it does." She said with a guilty smile.
Jack shook his head in disbelief at her act before you think attitude. "I'll be here to help." He told her reluctantly.
She laced her fingers with his and squeezed slightly, letting her worry pass out of her at his comforting cool touch. Frost nipped past her fingers and up her arm as he squeezed back, sending the cool presence into her. Somehow she always took the most comfort in his icy cold touch, it never worried her that he could freeze her. She sent a wave of warmth into his hand, giving the same comforting feeling to him by her touch; hoping it would put him at ease with what they were doing.
"What do you plan on doing?" Pitch asked, diverting Crystal's attention from the room as North laid the girl down.
"I plan on helping her," Crystal told him simply, glaring at him harshly. "But I have to wait until she has awoken again."
Time passed by slowly as the Guardians slowly disappeared and did what they were needed to do with their jobs. All that remained were Jack, Crystal, North, and Pitch. North was helping create new toys, and Pitch was sulking in a corner on his own, leaving the couple together in the master room.
"You're worried about her…" Jack pointed out as he sat on the window sill and watched Crystal pace back and forth repeatedly.
"Of course I am. All my emotions are swirling, and so much information has been given to me in such a small amount of time! Yet all I can think about is if Sera is really alright or not." Crystal said, throwing her hands in the air as gestures to her emotional outburst.
"Come here," Jack said, reaching his hand out to her.
She stood still for a moment before padding over to him gently and grabbing his hand. He pulled her down into his lap; letting her back rest against his chest and her head to fall into the nape of his neck. She let out a deep breath and pushed back against him, feeling the comforting cool rush around her with his arms around her waist and stomach.
"She'll be fine," Jack said reassuringly. "She's your friend after all."
Crystal turned her head and looked up at him, giving a small smile of joy peek out and shine. Jack leaned down slowly, giving up on fighting the temptation to not kiss her pink lips that were just daring him to do so.
"No!"
Wind slammed into Jack and threw him out the window quickly, leaving Crystal there with her head tilted up and her eyes blinking in confusion as to where Jack suddenly disappeared to.
"What?" Jack asked suddenly, flying up to the window and crouching down on the rim.
"She's mine!" Seraphina shouted, glaring at Jack stubbornly with her black hair glowing as if they were clouds moving along the sky.
"Sera!" Crystal said, happy to see the girl, yet also worried about her boyfriend. "You can't just throw people out of a window!"
"But he was touching you!" She argued, her eyes narrowing at Jack and releasing a harsh glare.
"He's allowed to," Crystal reassured her, placing her hand on Jack's shoulder.
Seraphina looked from Jack to Crystal before slumping her shoulders in defeat. Then her reasoning came back and she backed away from her. "I'm sorry! You know now don't you? I'm so sorry!"
Crystal took a couple steps towards her, reaching out to the girl who looked close to tears once again. "No! Sera, listen, it's not your fault!"
"But it is! I took your family from you! You are all alone now!" She screamed, placing her palms over her eyes as tears flowed down.
Crystal moved fast and grabbed the girl's hand, before tightening her grip so she couldn't pull her hand away from her.
"Follow me," She told Seraphina, her eyes intense with unwavering courage. "I need to tell you about what has happened since that time."
"But, but, but," Seraphina argued, trying to jerk her hand away from Crystal once again.
Crystal ignored her argument and pulled her along behind her and towards the window. "I'll be back," She promised Jack as she nodded her head to him.
"I'm coming too," He told her strictly.
"You don't need to." Crystal shook her head, knowing it would make Seraphina feel uncomfortable and antsy to be around Jack.
"I'm going with you," He said, this time more strictly, leaving her to open her mouth and yet not able to say a word of argument.
"Alright," She said, jumping out of the window, with Seraphina in tow. "Jack, we're going to go there."
Jack looked at her with surprise before smiling and flying ahead. They went a ways before stumbling upon an open field that had a small pond in the end of it.
"Where…is this?" Seraphina asked, hanging onto Crystal's hand now as she looked around.
"This…is where I made memories. Where I was no longer alone." Crystal told her, with a bright smile appearing on her face. "This is where Jack always took me to cheer up."
"Jack?" Seraphina asked, looking around her friend at the winter guardian.
"Y'see, when I lost my family, I didn't even have my aunt or uncle around to make me feel like I had anyone. They were horrible people who didn't want the responsibility of taking care of a child." Crystal began to explain. "Then one day Jack stumbled upon me in my room, and instantly he tried to cheer me up. He came every day to check up on me, make me smile, and give me the interaction with people that I desperately needed."
She let go of Seraphina's hand, making the girl instinctively reach out for the warmth once again. Crystal spun around on the grass, letting the flower spring up and bloom everywhere she stepped. Soon the whole field was covered in flowers of all kind and in all colors.
"This is where me and Jack spent every day we could together. Laughing, smiling, talking, playing, anything we could do just so we could hang out." Crystal said, smiling at Jack warmly. "Not one day went by where I felt like I was alone, because Jack was here next to me."
"But, your family…" Seraphina whispered sadly.
"I miss them. But, I know they wouldn't have wanted me to cry and sulk." Crystal said with a smile.
Crystal sat down in the middle of all the flowers, watching and smiling as they leaned towards her. She ran her finger along their petal and it seemed as if they grew larger. Jack flew over the flowers, searching through them until he found what kind he was looking for.
"Found it," He said, plucking one of the flowers and letting ice and frost surround it.
Crystal smiled as Jack held out the frozen rose to her. She ran her finger along the ice, careful not to melt it, and smiled at the familiar sight of the flower he always gave her.
"A frozen rose?" Seraphina asked, walking carefully along the flowers and sitting in front of Crystal to look at the flower herself.
"Yeah," Crystal laughed, showing her the preserved rose. "It's something he's always given me. I probably have a billion of them now."
Crystal set the rose down and kept it floating in the air next to her so it wouldn't freeze the others, yet also wouldn't melt. Crystal started plucking some of the flowers around her as Seraphina looked at Jack. He flew around the clearing, giving a slight snow on the clearing, and letting it disappear before hitting the ground.
"Here," Crystal said, placing a flower crown on Seraphina's head. "These go good with your eyes."
Seraphina looked at the colorful crown on top of her head and finally smiled. Her smile was bright and welcoming, as if spring was coming from her also and shining towards Crystal.
"Isn't it hard?" Seraphina asked, looking at Jack walk along the flowers, freezing them as he did so. "Being with him? I mean you are a Spring Guardian. And he's a Winter Guardian."
"There are difficult times," Crystal giggled, glancing at jack who seemed to be getting bored. "But we've always made it through it all."
Seraphina looked at the ground, letting her friends words sink into her and create a meaning, but as she looked up and found Jack hovering over Crystal, and Crystal looking up at him with a big smile, she knew what Crystal was saying. These two were in love; a love that couldn't be broken so easily as being different seasons.
"I hate to break this up," Bunny said, popping up out of the ground near them. "But we got a problem."
Crystal and Jack took no time to stand up and rush over to Bunny.
"Sera, come," Crystal said, holding out her hand.
Seraphina nodded her head and grabbed Crystal's hand, letting Bunny create a rabbit hole beneath them that took them to another place.
"Big sis!"
Crystal turned around and saw Jamie standing there with Sophie. They ran to her quickly with smiles on their faces.
"What's going on?" Jack asked, patting Jamie on the head.
"Pitch seems to have lost it again," Bunny said with a grumble.
"Father?" Seraphina asked, confused as to why her father would be the problem.
"We saw it!" Jamie said, pulling Jack's hand. "This way,"
Jamie tugged them along towards the forest, leading to a tall dark mountain that seemed to be shrouded in darkness.
"What is this?" Crystal asked, reaching her hand out to it.
Electricity zapped her hand as she touched the rock, sending her reeling from it in pain. Jack caught her before she fell, and held her away from the rock.
"What is he planning?" Seraphina asked, knowing her father had a dark side to him; and knew full well what he did to the Guardians and Crystal.
"We don't know, but it seems he's gaining help from others to do take what he wanted before." North said, stepping out with Tooth and Sandy.
"From who?" Crystal asked, patting Jamie's head as he looked at her worriedly.
"We don't know who they are." Tyler said, walking out of the shadows.
"Well, well, look who we have here," Pitch said, appearing on top of the dark rock.
"Pitch! What are you doing?" Crystal shouted to him, angry he was changing his way once again.
A smirk broke his face as he smiled down at her. "Taking what I deserve. You forget little girl, I am the boogeyman! I know everyone's greatest fears! But this time, I'm not alone."
Four other shadows appeared next to him, two on either side. One was a large grizzly bear, that had snarling teeth, and scars across his body. One was a tall woman with a curly black hair, and dark green eyes, her face was pointed and she wore a dark red dress that had long sleeves. The next was a man with dark blonde hair, and eyes that seemed so black they were bottomless, his smirk sent shivers down Crystal's spine. And finally, one that left them all speechless, was a black dragon. One that was so feral that it was wonder how Pitch tamed him at all. It's spines stuck out like knives, it's claws sharp as one, his eyes slitted in a predators hunting look, and it's wings as strong and wide as razor blades. The dragon opened it's mouth and its teeth are what scared Crystal the mouth, ones that would take less than a second to carve you up.
"You want to stop me?" Pitch laughed. His eyes turned dark and his smile faded as he glared at them viciously. "Go ahead and try."
A cloud of darkness surrounded them quickly and made them all disappear. The Guardians, Seraphina, and Jamie stood there in fear as they stared at where the five stood before. Crystal had automatically put her arm around Jamie and held him behind her in defense.
"This isn't going to be easy," Bunny said, clenching his fists.
"No, it won't," Crystal said hard. "But I know I've seen those people before."
"What?" North asked in shock.
Crystal turned and nodded her head to them, a look of determination on her face. "And I know just who to call to win this."
The others stared at her in confusion and surprise as to how she knew those dark and evil beings, and also knew who could defeat them.
"I know this is hard to understand, but for this battle, I'm going to need you guys to stay out of it," Crystal told them sternly, staring at Sandy, Bunny, Tooth, North, and Seraphina.
"What?" Jack said this time. "But we'll need their help!"
"Not with who I'm calling in," Crystal said with a smirk of her own. "You know these people too Jack, it's just been a long time since you've seen them."
"Who?" Jack asked, but was ignored momentarily.
"Bunny, can I use your place?" She asked him.
"Alri't Sheila," Bunny said with a nod.
He thumped his foot on the ground, letting them all drop once again into his tunnel.
"Bunny! Hop! Hop!" Sophie said suddenly, jumping into the tunnels.
"How do you little anklebitter get in here every time?" Bunny asked as he caught her.
"Bunny!" She said with a squeal of joy.
Crystal breathed in as she looked at the pond sitting next to the wall. She reached her foot out and stepped on the water, watching as the water rippled out from beneath her foot. She took a deep breath again and let it out, crouching down to touch the water, before raising her arms up along with her body until her arms were straight out to either side.
Water began to rise suddenly and for three squares, facing her in the air. Images began to form on the surface of the water in the squares, showing a tall castle that reached into the sky, a forest with blue spirits floating in the air like fire, and a clearing down beneath a rocky ledge that had forest surrounding it on top of the ledge.
"Follow my voice," Crystal spoke, her voice echoing through the water. "I need your help, come to me,"
Running footsteps were heard in the forest square, as the blue spirits, called will-o-wisps, disappeared into the air. Bright red hair, and daring blue eyes flashed out in front of the watery square. Her green dress hung on her carefully as she stared into the square. Next was the clearing square where a dark black dragon with friendly green eyes peaked it's head around to look at the strange water. A boy with shaggy brown hair and bright green eyes stood before the square with surprise and confusion on his face. Lastly, the castle square showed long golden thread, draping down in front of it as it moved erratically. A young woman dropped from the thread and moved it, showing it was not thread, but her hair that she was sliding down. She stood there with golden-green eyes, and her pinkish, purple dress hugged her figure nicely.
"I know this is confusing," Crystal spoke, looking at all of the directly. "I know I have a lot to explain," The people in the squares watched her carefully in confusion, but didn't interrupt her. "But I need your help. The darkness you all have destroyed has come back, and they are now threatening everyone's lives."
"What can I do to help?" The blonde with the castle said as she spun a metal frying pan.
The red head smiled and nodded her head. "Solving this wee little problem again won't hurt."
Crystal smiled at the two girls, whom she knew were some of the bravest, and didn't take any crap. She looked at the lone boy and gave him a hopeful look. He slumped his shoulders and sighed in defeat before staring at the dragon next to him.
"How about it Toothless? Shall we help?" He said, making Crystal smile proudly.
"Stick your hand to the water," She told them gently, reaching her own hand out.
They slowly held their hands out until they were touch the surface of the watery square gently, watching as the ripples moved from their hands and to the edges of the square. Water rose quickly around Crystal as she touched her hand to the ripples of the three squares to where they all met. The water shot into the air, blocking the Guardian's view of what was happening.
"What?" North shouted, blocking his eyes from the falling water.
Suddenly the water dropped, leaving the view clear and open for them to see. Crystal was no longer standing there by herself on the pond's water, but now had the three people who stood on the other side of the water.
"These are the people who are going to help," Crystal pointed out, letting the three step onto land with Crystal.
"It's good to see you again Jack," The blonde with the pink dress said.
Jack looked at the three of them carefully, knowing their faces looked familiar, but couldn't place as to where he had seen them before. "How?"
"You helped each of us when we were wee little ones," The red head began to explain.
"You had Crystal with you each time," The boy added in, glancing at her.
"So I decided to keep in touch with all of them." Crystal added. "That's how I knew those people with Pitch, because these three here, have defeated them once before."
"I still don't remember," Jack said confused.
"We used to call our group the Big Five," Crystal elaborated more, watching as dawning his Jack.
"So he remembers!" Red said.
"Guardian's, met Rapunzel," Crystal said, placing her hand on the other blondes shoulder. "Girl with the magic hair and the lost princess."
Rapunzel nodded her head in kindess towards the Guardian's whom she all knew about and wanted to meet in person.
"Merida," Crystal continued, changing her hold onto the red head's shoulder. "First born of Elinor and Fergus, has a wicked shot with the bow and isn't afraid of anything."
Merida gave them a proud smirk as she nodded a hello to them, glad Crystal introduced her that way.
"And finally Hiccup," She gestured to the brown haired boy. "Can tame dragons, control them, and is a Viking."
Hiccup waved a shy hello to them as Toothless, narrowed his eyes at the newcomers he didn't know about.
"Them, along with me and Jack, will be able to stop that group. We are the Big Five after all." Crystal said with a smirk.
The Guardian's stared incredulously at the group as they stood proudly with one another, and Jack stood with them, showing the Guardian's that though they were young, they weren't to be messed with, and had the power to stop Pitch and his team.
