"You've gone soft Ibiki." Were the first words out of the Purple haired kunoichi's mouth, shortly followed by "Okay maggots listen up."
Leo already like this lady, she reminded him of his sister, plus purple hair was awesome. Her little spiel about dangers and eliminating the weak was also a plus in his book. A strong woman like her would have done well in Nadeshiko.
The large group of genin hopefuls followed the woman to the next testing area, a huge forest foolishly called a training ground. As if.
"You are to go in there and survive for five days while trying to retrieve these scrolls." The purple haired woman told them. She was not interrupted by any of the ninjas gathered as the seriousness of the situation finally reached many. Life-or-death, finally something the Nadeshiko ninjas could enjoy.
After explaining the 'mission' to the genin the woman made everyone line up to get their scrolls.
"Heaven." Meigestu said to her cousin.
"Same." The eldest Hanami replied.
"Teams?" asked Yukii-hime, her eyes dully taking in the other teams.
"No, we split up, meet up in three days at the tower. Team three and twelve will separate and destroy those in our ways." Hisho replied before turning with her team.
"Signal?" asked Meigestu as a final thought.
"The creed of Nadeshiko and highest honor." Replied her cousin before entering the forest.
After a wait of ten minutes team Three also entered the forest, if the monstrous trees could be called that. Running at a swift pace with Miso in the lead, the team started to track down their prey. Find an Earth scroll and destroy as many other found scrolls as possible, this was their mission and success was the only answer.
The first team they came to was pathetic excuses of ninja from Waterfall with a heaven scroll. They were all dispatched of quickly and the scroll burned by one of Kiko's fire Justus. Team Three then moved on, hunting for the next team.
They found another team before nightfall, a slightly better team from Sand who put up more of a struggle. They were still eliminated but the scroll was kept. Earth scroll was what they needed after all.
Setting up camp using the supplies they 'procured' the team took turns with shifts. Leo and Miso took first shift, with Leo using a basic wind Justu to keep their scent from leaving the area. I would not do for someone to track them down after all. After his shift Kiko took over, patrolling the area with multiple earth clones spreading out to track other movements and teams. A few came back from their recon with alarming news, the competition was thinning drastically. It was only the first day, what the hell could be wiping out teams this quickly. Even Nadeshiko ninja knew to leave a few weak to distract from the herd.
Meigestu took her shift last, as she was an early bird any way, and actually enjoyed waking up that early, the insane woman. Once everyone was sufficiently rested they continued on their journey to the tower, avoiding the obvious routes and instead using earth Justu to tunnel under everyone, straight to the tower. Kiko had simply pulled the team under and Leo and Meigestu worked together to keep fresh air flowing. Miso was Kiko's steed as she needed all the concentration she had to not collapse the bubble on her teammates.
They stopped a good hour away from the tower, close enough to intercept, but far enough to not be ambushed. Setting up camp and waiting was all they could do, like a spider waiting for the fly, their traps set and ready to spring.
Team Three caught three other teams; two Leaf and another Sand. They burned the bodies with the scrolls, not even bothering to ransack the caught ninja. The competition was over anyways, and they knew who would come out on top.
On the third day they reached the tower and waited for team Twelve. The wait was short, only two hours after dawn, and both teams then entered the tower.
"Ugh, a poem." Kiko grimaced; she needed a hot shower, not a dull poem.
"Just open the damn scrolls." Leo growled out, Miso barking in agreement.
Once the two teams opened their scrolls and almost killed the damn Jounin who surprised them, they were lead to the waiting rooms.
"Clearly we are not the first." Came Yukii-hime's calm voice
"We ain't last either, I hope." Shiroko laughed, clapping hime's back
"Whatever, I am taking a bath, disturb me and die." Was all Kiko growled out, before stomping to the bathroom.
After a short pause the two teams looked at each other and came to an agreement, group bath it was. With that silent decision the girls, dog, and boy went to follow after Kiko, leaving the other teams behind, confused at the lack of caring the Nadeshiko ninja held.
Bam, new chapter.
