Chapter 21
Evelyne and Kol sat on the couch in front of the fire place each drinking a glass of bourbon. Kol never mentioned anything to Evelyne about the hospital, never asked why she only told Bonnie about her plan. They had been sitting in silence for a couple of hours by then when Kol decided to break it.
"She had feelings for both of them, doesn't she? That's why you insisted on your blood instead of one of your brothers." Kol said looking at her with his head cocked to the side.
"Yes she does. And becoming a vampire by one of them would cause her to have a sire bond. I don't want that to be how my brother finds out that she loved him, even when he thought she didn't." Evelyne said not looking at Kol but at the fireplace.
"What is it? What exactly did your brother do, that you know about?" Kol asked flashing in front of her and holding her face in his hands.
"Damon, he met Elena before Stefan even saved her. In fact he met her and then he compelled her to forget about it. But he told her he wanted her to get ever thing that she's looking for, then he made her forget meeting him." Evelyne said looking directly into Kol's eyes with all honesty.
"You just broke a promise to your brother, a promise you made over a hundred years ago. You told someone one of his secrets. Why? Darling, what are you going to do?" Kol asked standing up seeing a change in Evelyne's eyes.
"I want you to undo all of the compulsion my brothers or anyone has ever done to her. She has to know and remember everything to make her final decision. But do it without my brother knowing, one of them probably came back to town. I on the other hand will go to my other brother, just in case Alaric decides to show up." Evelyne said standing up and pacing as a plan formulated in her head.
"I'll do it if you tell me one thing. How do I know I'll never see you again? What is stopping him from killing you?" Kol said causing Evelyne to stop pacing and look at him honestly.
"Nothing, not a thing. Which is why, the witch who changed my bloodline did something else. I'm not going to tell you what, but it does insure that as long as one of us is alive, the other can't be dead for long." Evelyne said before disappearing leaving only a piece of paper behind. Kol lent down and picked up the paper and putting it in his pocket, he would read it later.
Twenty minutes later Evelyne was in the car with bonnie who was driving down the road in the direction of her brother.
"Hello Bonnie," Evelyne said making the young Bennett jump.
"How did you get in the car? I'm driving down the road." Bonnie said glancing at her before looking back at the road.
"I can run faster than a racecar Bonnie. By the way you should really lock your car doors when you are driving down the road." Evelyne said relaxing in the car.
"Wow do you sound like Damon or what. Now I have to spend time with two of him." Bonnie joked causing Evelyne to laugh. Both women fell into a silence until Bonnie finally asked, "Why are you here Evelyne? You and Kol could be anywhere in the world right now. And you are risking your lives by staying. Why?"
"They are my brothers, and the originals are Kol's family. We both honor our family, and I promised to keep balance to the earth. That is why I can't let you transfer Klaus into Tyler's body, there is another way." Evelyne said as they pulled into the parking lot of the storage warehouse.
"And what way is that?" Bonnie asked as she turned the car off.
"I have a spell; I will give it to you once we are in the storage unit. We have to get Damon to leave us alone with the body." Evelyne said and as soon as Bonnie nodded her head they got out of the car and walked up to Damon who had stepped outside.
Damon was a little shocked to see his little sister standing beside Bonnie, but he did a good job of hiding it from Bonnie. Evelyne just smirked at him before they walked in. Damon was talking to Bonnie about the Locker number, when he said the '666' thing she laughed. Once inside the unit Evelyne was the first to walk up to the coffin and she opened it. Damon and Bonnie both jumped back a little bit when Klaus's eyes shot open, causing Evelyne to smirk at them. Once Damon left them Evelyne pulled out a small piece of paper, you could tell that it was old.
"This is the spell I had a witch cast the other day; it can change your bloodline. At the bottom are a few alterations, link Klaus to me and if he dies, my blood can revive him. It will wear off after twenty-four hours. By then Alaric will have been dealt with." Evelyne said taking a pocket knife from her pocket and handing it to Bonnie.
Bonnie quickly got to work with the spell. The spell took no longer than ten to fifteen minutes for her to complete. After Bonnie finished the spell Evelyne closed the coffin and told her she would walk her out and wait here with Damon just in case. Damon agreed to it and allowed Evelyne to walk bonnie out to her car. Once to the car Bonnie stopped and turned to look at Evelyne.
"What will happen if you die? I only linked Klaus to you, his blood won't save you." Bonnie said looking at the vampire with concern.
"Like I said I had a witch cast the spell, I'm linked to Kol as he is linked to me. Don't worry Bonnie, your family is safe." Evelyne said before she turned around and walked into the warehouse and found Damon lounging on a couch in one of the lockers.
"Hey there little sis, want a drink?" Damon asked holding out a bottle of bourbon. Evelyne gladly took the bottle and took a swig before handing it back to her brother.
They stayed there just lounging for an hour or so when Evelyne got a call and told Damon she would be right back. Once she was outside Evelyne hit answer on her phone.
"Yeah what's up?" Evelyne said into the phone.
"I did as you asked my love. She remembers everything; to say she was a little shocked was an understatement. And that was about an hour ago, now she's missing. Turns out her Jer and Mattie boy drugged her and where getting her out of town." Kol said to her making her groan.
"I'll call her and check up on her." Evelyne said hanging up her phone and dialing Elena.
"Evelyne, I remember, thank you. I've made my decision." Elena said as Evelyne heard a noise from in the warehouse.
"That's good Elena but I have to go. Something's wrong." Evelyne said quickly putting her phone away and running back to her brother who was on the floor with a broken neck. Evelyne looked around and then stopped to listen. After a moment she could hear Alaric opening locker after locker. Then from the other side of the warehouse she could hear Bekah yelling for Damon.
Evelyne quickly kicked her brother her woke with a small groan. She told him to be quiet and listen, once he heard Bekah she gestured for him to go find her. After her brother was gone for a moment, Evelyne quickly jumped on top of the lockers and looked around. She found Alaric and she also saw Damon and Rebekah running with the coffin. She watched and Alaric went after them before she ran to the area in which they had stopped.
By the time she got down there both Bekah and Damon had been pushed to the side, and Alaric had the coffin open. Before he could slam the stake down Evelyne quickly grabbed his arm and broke it with a small snap. She sent him flying across the room. As he tried to get up she ran towards him and threw him back into a wall with a loud thud.
"Leave," Evelyne said to Bekah as Alaric got back up and ran at her. Evelyne was able to dodge his punches with ease. Getting tired of missing Alaric quickly grabbed her and snapped her neck.
A while later Evelyne wakes to find her brother talking on the phone to Elena. She could tell she had been out for a while. Shaking her head she stood up and looked around, she saw the coffin was closed and she walked over to it and opened it. She made a disgusted look at the sight of the burnt corpse.
"Why don't you ask your sister the answer to that question?" Evelyne heard Elena say from the phone. Evelyne turned her head to see her brother staring at her before he said good bye to Elena.
"What did she mean Eve?" Damon asked before he saw Evelyne Pull her sleeve up and cut her wrist. "Wait what are you doing?"
"Making sure my family doesn't die," Evelyne said allowing her blood to drop onto the corpse and heal it.
"Well isn't this lovely." Alaric said causing Evelyne to shut the coffin quickly and turn and face him. Quickly he moved forward and punched Damon sending him across the room successfully breaking his neck.
"That isn't nice, weren't you ever told to respect your elder's." Evelyne said before she sped forward and broke both of Ric's arms, before she threw him. A moment later they became a blur of punches, kicks, and flying cuss words. Both had become blooded and bruised by the time they slowed and Evelyne had him in a head lock. Evelyne held him in place as small amounts of blood came out of her nose and mouth.
"Goodbye, Miss. Salvatore." Ric said before he head butted her causing her to stumble back. While she tried to steady herself, he moved quickly and drove the stake threw her heart. Across the room Damon quickly got up and ran forward throwing Ric away from his sisters greying form.
"You are so dead," Damon growled out at Ric as Evelyne's body turned completely grey.
(To Kol who is with Elijah after Bekah ran off)
"What is she about to do big brother?" Kol said walking up to Elijah with a small frown.
"I don't know Kol," Elijah said looking at the spot that his little sister had just been.
"Let's hope it's nothing to, urgh." Kol said grabbing his chest in pain. He quickly fell to his knees grabbing his chest as Elijah quickly looked at him worried.
"What's wrong brother?" Elijah said kneeling next to his brother. As suddenly as the pain appeared it left Kol, causing him to stand straight up.
"It's not me, it's Evelyne. She's, she's dead." Kol said as tears started to fall from his eyes. He pulled the paper from his pocket form earlier with great ease and read it before handing it to Elijah. Elijah read the paper quietly before he looked at his brother and nodded in understanding.
As Kol ran to the warehouse, off in the distance he heard the sound of a car crash. Kol got to the warehouse in time to see Ric's dead body on the floor and Damon holding Evelyne's grey lifeless body. More tears fell from is eyes as he walked over to her body and fell to his knees.
"She's dead; she died making sure I wouldn't die. It should have been me, I'm her big brother. I'm supposed to take care of her." Damon said kissing her forehead.
"What she did to Klaus I can do to her, I can bring her back. All she needs is my blood." Kol said causing Damon to let her go and scoot back a little. "Go to Elena, she's probably at the hospital by now. I've got Evelyne."
"Take care of my sister." Damon said with tears still in his eyes as he went to the car and drove off.
Once Damon was gone Kol slit his wrist and put it to Evelyne's mouth. Making sure he didn't waste any blood Kol made sure he kept his wrist to her mouth until she gasped for unnecessary air.
A/N: How did you like the chapter, where you shocked? I might do one more chapter, which would be in the future. In the world of the story season 4 never happens. One I changed a major thing that fueled that season. Thank you so much for reading this story.
