I'm sorry it has been three months since I last updated. I lost inspiration and it had been a few months since I played Birth by Sleep.
But here is the next and last chapter!
Last story to this 'trilogy' will be created after school gets out for the summer.
After being 'defeated' by the blue-haired keyblade master, Vanitas was called by Xehanort. He didn't understand why he had stayed with the other darkness wielder for so long. Maybe so he wouldn't die? So he wouldn't get killed by him? It was most likely the fact he didn't want Xehanort to go after Shion.
Vanitas arrived at the Outer Gardens of the world Radiant Garden to see his master no where in sight. "Xehanort?" he called out to the empty area. The young apprentice was just about to turn around when something hit him in his pressure point causing him to fall on the ground, not fully unconscious. Someone had stepped up to him when they said, "Let's see if he was right about killing that girl."
Shion! Van screamed in his mind as he fought the blackness. Run!
Shion! Run!
The said keyblade wielder turned herself around, expecting the person that called her name to be behind her. When he was no where in sight she became confused. The Unversed that was sparing against her turned back into her original form as a Flood. "Is there something wrong?" Twilight asked her master.
Shion didn't give any signs that she heard her or that she was listening. She knew who the voice belonged to but he wasn't there. It sounded like he was screaming right next to her. "Milady, what's wrong?" Twilight demanded more than asked.
"Vanitas," she answered slowly as she scoured the vacant and deserted area for the boy "I thought heard his voice."
"What did he say?"
"He told me to. . . ." Shion trailed off as she looked up at one of the cliffs. Standing at the edge with his black helmet covering his face was the boy who called out to her. He seemed different though. From the distance she was at, she could sense a heavy amount of darkness surrounding him, not in him. The thing was it didn't feel like his.
It felt like Xehanort's.
"Run." She whispered as Vanitas jumped from the cliff, making it look like he was sky-diving. "RUN!" She yelled as she ran as fast as she could away from the dangerous boy. Not completely understanding what her master meant, Twilight followed her, quickly getting ahead of her. Shion's effort meant nothing as he appeared in front of her. He didn't seem interested in the Unversed for some reason.
He brought his keyblade up and slammed it down as hard as he could. Shion barely had enough time to block the attack. When she did, she almost lost her grip on the keyblade. She shoved him away and yelled at her Unversed. "Get out of here! Now!"
Twilight ran away, not once looking back.
Immediately, Shion regretted her decision. Dad, she thought in her mind as the possessed Vanitas started charging at her. Save me!
Terra was in the Lanes Between, looking for another world to go to when he spotted a light above him going the same direction as he was. "That light..." he spoke out loud. "Is it Ven?"
The young man was about to follow the light when he heard a voice in his head. "Master Terra," it began. "Find me. We must speak at once."
"Master Xehanort!" Terra solved as he turned around and headed to where the master was.
In the world he arrived in, he knows it at The Badlands. It was an isolated place with many cliffs and canyons. On top of a pillar was Xehanort with his hands behind his back, waiting. Sensing the arrival of the wielder, he leaned his head up to see him.
"Master Xehanort, you wished to see me?" Terra questioned politely.
"There is no time to lose!" Xehanort stated, ignoring his previous question. "I've terrible news. Ventus has stumbled upon the secrets of his origins."
"Ven?" Terra repeated in shock. "I just saw him, he passed right in front of me. What happened?"
"Ventus is on his way home. If you could have seen the fury in his eyes. . . . I'm certain he is capable of anything. I fear the boy may attempt to force the truth out of Eraqus. Master Terra, you must hurry back and see to your friend's safety."
"Of course." Terra agreed. He moved his head forward ready to leave. Like a shot of lightning he felt the presence of a familiar light growing weak.
Dad. Save me!
Terra gasped. "Shiona!" He turned his glider around and started to move to go find her before he was stopped by Xehanort.
"What are you doing!" The old master exclaimed. "You have to go keep Ventus safe!"
"My daughter comes first!" He yelled in defiance. "Ven will understand." He sped off, bound and determined to find his little girl.
"Van, please!" Shion cried as she blocked another harsh move from him. "I don't want to hurt you!"
The possessed Vanitas lost his balance as stumbled backwards. He threw his head back and laughed wickedly. "That's funny because I really want to kill you!"
Seeing as though there was no other choice, Shion dropped her keyblade. It disappeared as she held out her arms. "Go ahead," Shion insisted to the momentarily confused boy. "If you want to kill me so bad then release my heart. It'll be the quickest way to end my life."
After a moments hesitation, Vanitas stabbed his keyblade into her chest. He pulled the blade out immediately with a heart following it. He dropped his weapon and caught the girl as she was beginning to fall while her heart disappeared into the sky. "Shion," Vanitas cried, his throat becoming hoarse. "What did I do?"
"Something you were forced to do." She answered slowly as she was laid on the ground. "Don't blame yourself."
"Sh-"
"Shiona!" The two who were once fighting turned to the direction of where the shout came from.
Shion smiled weakly as she watched her father slide right beside her. "How did this happen?" Terra demanded.
"Xehanort took control of Van," she explained softly. "He had no control over his body, so please don't be mad at him."
Begrudgingly, he nodded his head saying, "I promise."
Her smile grew as her blue Unversed arrived, sitting next to her. "Can you watch over Twilight while I'm gone?"
Despite the situation Terra chuckled. "You're making it sound like you'll only be gone for a couple hours instead of forever."
"I will be gone for a long time," Shion admitted. "But I know one day, you'll bring me back."
Before her father could have her explain what she meant, she slowly started to fade. With the remaining strength she had left, Shion kissed Terra's cheek and spoke her last words, "I love you, Dad." Then she was gone.
Vanitas backed away from Terra whom was kneeling on the ground where his daughter died. "I am so sorry," Vanitas apologized. "Please, you have to believe me. I would never hurt her. I love her!"
"Then why did you?" Terra questioned in a whisper.
"I don't know," Van admitted regrettably. "I wasn't in control of my body."
"Then you should have regained control!" Terra yelled in rage and anger.
"If I could I would go back in time and stop myself from doing what I did."
The man thought about a suitable punishment for the boy for a few seconds. Realizing he had already suffered enough he stated, "Leave."
"Excuse me?"
"I'm letting you off the hook." Terra stood and looked directly at Vanitas. "She loved you."
Terra was all alone in the world called The Keyblade Graveyard. He was not having the best day. In the same day his daughter and a man who was like his father were both killed. He was powerless to stop it.
Worst of all he had to be the one to tell Aqua the bad news.
"Shiona was killed."
Aqua gasped and Terra could have sworn tears were starting to form in her eyes. His hearts ached as he explained, "Xehanort wanted to kill off my sources of light. She and Master Eraqus were the two most important. Now that they're gone-"
"My baby girl," Aqua sobbed sorrowfully. Tears were spilling uncontrollably which was the first time Terra has ever seen them from her. "She's dead?"
He nodded slowly, clutching the wayfinder that was given to him as he began to cry. "Yes, but I swear on my own life Aqua, I will bring her back!"
It has been almost thirteen years since Ven been asleep. Thirteen years since Aqua's seen the light. Thirteen years have Xehanort took over Terra's body. Thirteen years since Shion has been dead.
Organization XIII has formed. The creator of the said organization, Xemnas, was in Number IV's, Vexen, lab. The worker believed he was creating a puppet to take the powers of Number XIII's keyblade. In reality he was bringing back someone from the dead though he didn't know it. This project wasn't even his idea. It was the leader's.
After many failures, the experiment was finally finished and was functioning properly.
"What should this creature's name be?" Vexen questioned his Superior.
"Xion."
Unsure of why he picked that name, Vexen scoffed. "That is such a human name to give to an object."
"But she was designed to be a human, correct?" Xemnas countered harshly. "It is only appropriate to give such a name."
The member quickly left the room to attend to a mission he was assigned to yesterday but never got around to. The leader was left all alone in the room with the 'experiment'.
He touched the glass that separated him from her. For the first time in thirteen years a genuine smile appeared on his face.
"I missed you, my daughter."
How do you like the ending? I kinda pulled it out of my butt because I had never intended to have it in there.
Anyways! I hoped you liked the end of this story. I'm sorry it was sort but I was in a hurry to update it.
