I am so sorry you guys, my life has been crazy the last couple of months, I moved twice within a month, work has been nuts, but I'm back now. I'm almost done watching 3B and oh my god Dylan O'Brien killed it! I mean he was totally amazing and I can't wait to write Scarlet into all of that, expect lots of twin feels on that front. I was having a hard time figuring out how to fit Scarlet into 3A with Jennifer and Cora, but I'm thinking I'm going to either write Cora out completely, or just have her there as little as possible. I don't know how you guys felt about her, but I felt like she was unnecessary for that season. Anyway, we are a couple of episodes into season 2 at this point, I think I'm going to split 3 into a new story, a lot of this story revolves around Jackson once he leaves, we'll move to a new story.
Chapter 34
The next morning, Scarlet made her way over to the station and slowly wandered down the stairs. Derek was walking across the room, Isaac was laying on the floor, and Boyd was watching from the stairs. Erica launched herself at Derek and kissed him hard.
Derek kissed her back for a moment before tossing her on her butt on the floor. "That's the last time you do that," Derek ordered. Scarlet stormed down the stairs, but Boyd caught hold of her.
"Why cause I'm a beta," Erica snapped.
"No, because I have someone else in mind for you, and because I already have a girlfriend, and she's standing on the stairs and you only did that to try and hurt her. I belong to her, and she belongs to me," Derek replied coldly. "Got it?"
"Are we done? Cause I've got about 100 bones that need a few hours to heal," Isaac asked trying to break the tension.
Scarlet didn't miss the look that Erica shot her. Derek grabbed Isaac's arm and broke it. She gasped and started to step forward but Boyd stopped her again,
"101, you think I'm teaching you how to fight? Look at me! I'm teaching you how to survive," Derek shouted.
"If they wanted us dead why aren't they coming for us now? What are they waiting for," Isaac asked as he clutched at his wrist.
"I don't know, but they are planning something, and you especially, know that's not our only problem. Whatever that thing is that killed Isaac's father, I think it killed someone else last night. Until I find out what it is, you all need to learn everything that I know. As fast I can teach you," Derek said before walking into the subway car.
Scarlet sighed and ran a hand through her hair. She knelt down next to Isaac and touched his shoulder. "You ok," she asked.
"Yeah, nothing a few hours won't heal."
"Well, this should make you feel better," she said as she set a large duffle bag next to him. "I might have broken into your house last night and stolen all of your clothes. I also brought you guys some food, its in the box."
"What did you bring? It smells good," Boyd asked as he glanced at the box.
"Mac and cheese, there's a peanut butter pie, fried chicken, some bread, I would have brought more, but my dad was a little suspicious."
"You made us all of that," Erica asked dubiously.
"Yeah, I also brought you guys some books, magazines, an old laptop and some movies. I figured you guys didn't have much down here so you could use the entertainment," Scarlet explained. "I'm sorry for what I said last night, you guys are important to Derek. I know he's hard on you, but he's trying to protect you. He can teach you a lot."
Scarlet nodded at them before starting after Derek. She paused though and turned to look back at Erica. "Oh, and if you ever kiss him again, I'll kick your ass blondie, we clear?"
"Crystal," Erica said with a smile.
Scarlet slipped between the doors and slowly made her way after Derek. She leaned against the doorframe as she watched him change his shirt. "You were right, that thing, it killed someone else last night. A mechanic, Stiles was there, he saw it."
Derek turned and looked at her. "Stiles saw it?"
"Yeah, he said that it used our Jeep to crush the guy, Stiles had to watch," Scarlet explained. Derek nodded slowly for a moment. "I know you are going to talk to him about it, just please don't hurt him again. He's pretty shaken up about it."
"Fine, are we going to talk about what happened last night," Derek asked.
"I was jealous, Erica looks incredible, she is a werewolf, and is basically everything that I'm not. I was jealous and I was confused because I told you I didn't want the bite, but then I was upset that you changed her. I was scared that I was going to lose you to her. That the two of you would have all this stuff in common and that... that you would prefer her to me."
"I felt the same way when I saw how Jackson looked at you," Derek admitted. "That's why I wasn't concerned when he didn't change. He became less of a threat to me. I knew that you and Isaac had a history, that's why I told him. I meant what I said before, we belong to one another. The only reason I am building this pack is so I can protect you."
"I know, Isaac told me, he also saved my life last night so maybe you could cut him a little slack," Scarlet suggested.
"What," Derek asked in shock.
"I would have gotten hit by a car if it weren't for him."
"Isaac," Derek called out as he pushed his way out of the subway car. "You saved her last night?"
"Yeah, a car almost hit her, I knocked her out of the way," Isaac explained.
"Thank you, and I'm sorry about your arm," Derek said before turning back to Scarlet.
"Was that so hard," Scarlet teased as Derek came over to her. He threw an arm around her shoulders and guided her back into the subway car. They made their way back to what was now his room. Scarlet flopped down on the bed and glanced up at him briefly.
"So what are you going to do to Stiles," she asked.
"Talk to him," Derek said with a shrug.
"Derek," she sighed as she glanced up at him again. "Let me talk to him, you don't have to."
"I need to know what he saw, whatever this thing it, it will make life really complicated for us."
"I know that, but this is my twin we are talking about. Just let me talk to him, please?"
"Scarlet," Derek said tiredly.
"I'm serious Derek, let me talk to him. He is way more likely to tell me than he is to tell you."
"Fine, you've got until tonight."
"Good, I'll go talk to him now," she said as she pushed herself.
Derek caught her arm and pulled her to him. "I've got other plans for you," he said lowly. He kissed her gently before backing her toward his mattress. "You threatening to kick Erica's ass was really sexy."
"Oh really," Scarlet said as he lowered them both onto the mattress. They quickly became lost in one another. Derek tugged his shirt off and tossed it aside. Scarlet froze when he dropped hers on the floor. She could hear Erica and Boyd laughing about something together.
"Derek, they can hear us," Scarlet whispered.
"Let them," Derek growled as he kissed his way up her neck.
"Derek, no, that's awkward."
"Fine." Derek pushed away from her and headed toward the doors of the subway car. He shoved them open and leaned out to look at them. "Out, all of you."
"Why," Isaac said as he stared back at Derek.
"Because I said so, now go! Keep a low profile, see if you can find out anything about last night. Isaac, stay out of sight. Now go," Derek shouted.
As they all left silently, Scarlet climbed off the bed and made her way over to Derek. She wrapped an arm around his waist and leaned against his back.
"Thank you," she said before pressing a kiss to his back. She gasped loudly when Derek turned quickly and lifted her up, pushing her against the wall. He kissed her hard as she wrapped her legs around his waist. Everything became a blur of sensations as Derek carried her back to the bed. They quickly became tangled up in one another, Derek holding himsself over her as he slowly pushed into her.
Scarlet moaned softly as she drew her legs up to wrap them around him. Derek took his time, the last time he'd gotten caught up in it, this time he wanted to show her how much he cared for her. He moved slowly, his hands sliding over her skin as he kissed her deeply. He caught the back of her thigh and pushed a little harder, earning a loud moan from Scarlet.
Derek stared into her eyes and she unraveled beneath him, her nails digging into his back as she cried out his name. Feeling her squeeze around him, pushed him over the edge and he came with a groan.
Derek rolled off to the side and panted softly. Scarlet rolled over and rested her head on his chest. "That was... different," she said softly.
"Good different or bad different," Derek asked as he glanced down at her.
"Good different," Scarlet said as she sat up. She pulled one of his sheets around herself as she stared down at him. She bit her bottom lip and glanced away for a moment.
"What is it," Derek asked as he sat up. He gently tilted her face up so she was looking at him. Her eyes were swimming with tears. "Scar, what is wrong?"
"I'm sorry, I just, after all that stuff happened with Peter and what you said to Scott that night, and with everything that has been going on lately, I thought... I thought you didn't," she trailed off and looked away from him.
"You thought I didn't love you," Derek finished for her.
"I'm not like Kate or Erica, I can't be like them. Yeah Kate was crazy, but she was strong and driven, and Erica, she knows what she wants and she can protect herself now. You always have to be worried about me, I can't save myself, I can't do anything," Scarlet babbled as she attempted to pull away from him.
"Scarlet, Kate was a murdering psychopath. The last thing I want is for you to be like her. As for Erica, she has no idea what she wants, everything changed so quickly for her, she is running to catch up. All of the power has gone straight to her head. You are smart, and talented, and funny, and compassionate. You have no idea how strong you really are. That is why I love you."
"You do?"
"Yes, I do."
