Chapter 2: Crushcrushcrush

Chapter 2 Summary: Tecna's mind is filled with many new and colorful thoughts ever since meeting Timmy.

Tecna's dreams were usually void of color and always a quiet, pristine getaway from the overabundance of emotions she experienced while living and working with the Winx. They were peaceful, non-changing pieces of work Tecna had worked on in her mind. Black like night these dreams allowed her to experience some comfort of emotionless reform from Alfea.

Except today, the dreams where bursting with flavor, colors like some Tecna never even imagined before. Emotions running rampant, tugging at her heart, asking to be released. Tecna didn't know what to do with them. She cowered in a small corner of the dream that was still comfortable to her, black and unchanging, as the world in from of her exploded and threatened to spill. She was uncomfortable. Her mind begged for a release from the emotional prison. She isn't used to it…

Tecna was scared now. She was never truly as frightened as in this moment. There had been times where she was forced to deal with great monsters and the threat of death loomed over her team. But she always kept a clear head. Everything would be okay; logic could get them out safely.

Not this time. The logic was cowered in the corner threatening to disappear altogether. She felt her heart beat faster…If only she would get his image out of her mind, then these crazy emotions could leave her in peace once again….

Not tonight.

As the colors loomed over her she found a voice. While this voice was usually calm, robotic almost, in this moment it was scared. It screamed.

She screamed.

Her teal eyes flew open, revealing the blue colored room she had lived in for exactly three months and two weeks. The time was 3:42 AM. The colors disappeared from behind her glossy eyes while her lungs pushed for hurried air. Too much thinking at one time she convinced herself.

Her roommate Musa put a hand on her shoulder, "Tecna, are you okay?"

"Yes...' The lilac haired girl responded, "It was just a nightmare…" she said when the musicians navy eyes found hers. Musa wrapped her arms around Tecna. "If you wanna talk about it… I'm always open for it!" Tecna shook her head quickly. "It was just a… monster…"

She studied the musical fairy as her eyes dimmed at the rejection. "it's alright…I'm just glad you aren't, you know, hurt or anything." her eyes drifted over Tecna in her shocked state as lightly as her fingers drifted over her acoustic guitar. Tecna found some comfort in that for some odd reason.

"Don't forget we have an early seven am class today for WizGiz. Something about nature…" Tecna smiled slyly. "I never forget." The two fairies laughed.

Tecna woke up from a normal black and white dream this time at exactly five forty-five. She woke up with one second to spare before her alarm went off. "I'm going to have to set this clock to start being on time aren't I" She grumbled to herself while making the bed. She went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and get dressed. Her usual routine took about half an hour exactly, so at six fifteen she was already hovering over Musa's bed to wake her up. Tecna really didn't mind it, she liked helping out her roommate. Friend? Maybe. That part wasn't too clear.

Tecna shook Musa's shoulder quickly. "Musa? Wake up…" she said in her accent. She heard a few snores from beneath the covers and shook harder. "Don't make me scream!" Suddenly a gasp and then a long yawn, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, don't worry your pretty pink head off." Musa's head popped out from under the covers. "I'm up techie." she smiled and waved, "sit down if you want." "I actually want to have a little stroll before class starts so I'll see you soon, okay?" Musa shrugged and Tecna was on her way outside. It was early November, the air was chilled and the weather was begging for snow soon. Tecna loved this time of year here since it reminded her of Zenith and its chilly temperatures. The stars twinkled above her and the moon cast a small haze of light over the pine trees that surrounded the school. Tecna breathed in the crisp air and started off on her little morning walk. She heard someone talking in the distance and curiously followed the sound.

Rounding another corner of the school which led to the back, she quickly ducked behind a tall bush. She spotted a large red ship that could only belong to Red Fountain. "Specialists? But why are they here so early?" She kept spying through the bushes trying to listen to what they were saying when she felt a tap on her shoulder. "Um…I'm not really sure but I don't think a girl as pretty as you should be spying through the bushes?" Tecna looked up and gave a puzzled look to the boy, who laughed nervously, "Brandon is trying to help me with those lines…." When the boy pushed his bangs back, Tecna gasped in recognition. His beautiful brown eyes glistened in sync with her teal ones.

"Timmy? It's been a while; I haven't seen you since the dance!" She stood up and smiled. He smiled and awkwardly scratched his head.

"So what are you guys doing here? It's early."

"We're here for some sort of demonstration for WizGiz's class."

Tecna smiled, "I'm in that class, I'm sure that will be fun."

He blushed a little, "So what are you doing up early, class doesn't start for half an hour."

"Just taking a quick walk around the campus. I admire this time of the year."

Timmy smiled again. "How about I join you?" "I'd really like that Timmy."

They walked around campus talking about science, math, and typical geeky topics. It was about six fifty when Tecna tugged on Timmy's sleeve, "It's almost time for class." she said it slowly, as if that could slow down time for them. "Oh I'll take you back then." Timmy said sadly.

Just as they started walking, Timmy stuck his arm out and stopped Tecna from continuing. "Hey what give-"

"Look, the sunrise."

The sun lazily peeked over the horizon of the mountains, its red color dipping into the scenery and everything it touched became magical in Tecna's eyes. The pair became silent just watching the orb rise higher and higher. Soon the entire sky was bursting with colors that challenged even her colorful dreams but she didn't try to hide this time. She kept her eyes wide open to the beautiful view and gasped. The pinks, purples and yellows soon dulled however and all that was left was the feeling of amazement and colors behind her eyes.

"What are you feeling right now?"

Tecna was surprised by the question and took a minute to answer. "Stunned."

"Me too."

They started off in silence until Timmy glanced down at his watch. "Oh no, um Tecna…it's six fifty seven…"

Without any other words they both took off running to the school, laughing together. They crashed through some small bushes and slipped every so often on ice but they made it just on time behind the school. Just before Tecna met up with her class Timmy grabbed her shoulder again. "Um…that was really fun…Tech…I hope we can do it again sometime…" She smiled, her teal eyes glistening with the thoughts of another time like this with Timmy. "It's a date…hang out." She quickly corrected herself and Timmy started blushing again. Tecna gave a sheepish smile and then slowly went to meet up with her classmates.

Her thoughts raced. 'Date?' She thought. 'Ugh, you cannot get anymore weird. What if he doesn't even like you?' She paled a bit. 'Did I actually start to like him too?'
