Yay! The book finally came in! So now I can keep writing for you, my faithful loves! I give you lots o' kisses! Ok without further delay… CHAPTER 30 OF HIDDEN TWIN!
Tired, there was nothing I wanted more than sleep. However I wanted to hold a funeral for my father, I thought about the human's idea of an eternal resting place and smiled for it would be perfect for father. I decided to go look at the areas cemeteries, the one by the ocean was the one I wanted to visit first. Lyra accompanied me for protection purposes. I told them nothing of my intentions but when we arrived at the first one Lyra looked so confused I couldn't help but chuckle.
"My lady? Why choose such a location for an outing?"
"It's not for me. Once I receive the ashes of father, I plan to bury him in a beautiful place. The humans have the cemeteries for such purposes. Plus, I can come visit him whenever I like." I smiled the tears coming back to my eyes.
Lyra pulled me into a hug, "Your father was without a doubt proud of the lady you've become."
"Thank you. Now let's go look at the available plots." I began to walk away after quickly pulling away from Lyra's hold.
"Of course, my lady."
Out of all of the vampires in father's staff he entrusted my care to the twins because they were the most loyal. They had both fell fatally ill as humans, around 10 years ago. They were both 17 when confronted by father, who at that time refused to let me leave his side if it wasn't necessary.
"Lyra, do you miss being human?"
"No my lady," she smiled. "If we were to turn back time I would have made the same decision."
"Do you remember when we first met?"
"I would never forget, neither Mira nor I would ever forget the day you and Master Ouri came into our lives." She held her hands to her chest.
As she spoke of the memory, I relived it in my head.
-O.O-
It was a very cold winter, the town that father and I were traveling through had been hit with an epidemic. People were dying left and right. We were warned multiple times to flee town. Passing the hospital I stopped following father and stood, my gaze fixed upon the hospital. Father had gone ahead almost ten feet before he nearly freaked out realizing I wasn't beside him. He ran back over to me.
"Meyome! You need to stay beside Papa!"
I said nothing, I pointed to the hospital. "Papa, I sense valuable allies."
"Honey everyone in there is very sick, they're not going to make it." He looked a little sad trying to explain.
"So they're all going to die? Like in the books the humans write?"
"Yes, you read some of my books?"
"I read them all, I get bored when Papa is away."
He seemed extremely shocked, then a little sad. "Would you like to go visit some of the sick?"
I nodded. "Yes."
When we walked in we were almost pushed out, but I slipped out of the arms of the grown humans and ran.
"Meyome!" my father shouted.
"Get the girl!" some of the staff shouted.
I kept running, something was pulling me forward. I stopped in front of the room door. That's when I was snatched up by my father.
"Papa, they're in there." I whispered in my father's ear. He reached and grabbed the file from beside the door.
"Mira, and Lyra. According to this they don't have much longer to live." He said putting the file back.
"So good to see you caught her sir!" the staff ran up panting.
"We're going to take our leave now."
"But Papa!"
"Meyome," he said in that father tone.
"Yes sir." I pouted.
Once outside, my father looked at me. "We will visit them once the sun sets."
I smiled, "All right!"
-O.O-
Snapped back into reality by Lyra, "I remember listening to you and your father outside our door reading our file. When he said we didn't have much longer both Mira and I began to cry, we were so scared."
"That night Father and I used our familiars to distract the hospital people as we snuck in." I recalled.
"Yes I thinking back its pretty funny, we were wondering what all the noise was about, a wolf and a horse, we thought we heard wrong."
I chuckled. I remembered watching my familiar chase my fathers as we snuck through the hospital to their room. I clung to my father's leg as we walked in and closed the door behind us.
-O.O-
"Who are you people?" Lyra was the first to speak up. "You're not the doctors."
"Do you wish to be saved from your fate?" my father spoke suddenly.
"What do you mean?" Mira seemed interested.
"Mira no!" –Lyra
"Your fate is to die within the week, if you wish, I can save you."
"What are you?" Lyra still seemed skeptical.
"We're vampires," I spoke up.
"Please save us! I don't want to die!" Mira cried out.
"Mira, please be quiet." I walked over and held her hand.
"What do you want from us?" Lyra asked.
"Nothing, I will turn you into vampires and let you drink my blood, from there you're free to do what you wish."
"But be warned, like with witches, you will be hunted by your villagers, hunted until they catch and kill you, or until they chase you out." I spoke looking them in the eyes.
Mira bowed her head, "Mr. Vampire, please, I don't care! I want to be saved!"
"And your decision?" he looked at Lyra.
"All right," Lyra bowed her head as well. "Please save me as well."
Father smiled and walked over to them. Untying Mira's gown first, he exposed her neck. I watched his fangs dig slowly into her, the slight twinge of pain on her face.
"Papa be careful! Don't hurt her!" I cried out.
It was then that my father released Mira, "Don't worry, it's just like when you get a shot, when it punctures the skin it hurts a little."
"Oh, just be careful!" I reiterated.
Papa chuckled, "Of course, my princess."
Papa then bit Lyra before opening both of his wrists for them to drink. After drinking I remembered watching the two go into painful looking convulsions. I ran to them after they passed out, holding their hands and staying by their sides until they woke up. However I had fallen asleep, when I awoke I was being carried in the arms of Lyra as we were getting out of town, behind us multitudes of torches and pitchforks were catching up to us.
"Papa!"
"I know. Mira, Lyra behind me."
The two girls obliged as they held me in a hug behind my father. As the villagers caught up they were shouting that we were monsters, the mother of Mira and Lyra pleaded for them to come back. When the girls shook their heads no, their mother asked why.
Hugging me tighter the both said in perfect sync, "We owe this little girl our lives."
Unfortunately my father was forced to kill a few villagers that charged at us, but after that we went on our way.
-O.O-
I smiled as the memory concluded itself. I looked over at Lyra.
"What did my father say to you two that day that made you come with us?"
"Honestly? Nothing, when we awoke you were asleep holding our hands. I know for me I fell in love, I looked at Lord Ouri and asked if you were the reason he saved us. He smiled, and that was it. Before I noticed it people were busting into the room, I swooped you up and followed Lord Ouri out the window. Mira following behind me."
I smiled and looked out onto the water of the ocean beside the Cemetery.
"I would like to bury him here, the sight of the ocean and the breeze are beautiful."
The sun was setting when we finished and began to head home. I felt a familiar but paid no mind, I just kept walking. We passed by many other cemeteries, all the time I wondered why the worlds creator made the humans lives so short, why did he let ours [vampires] be longer? Lyra perked up.
"Lyra wh-" the scent of blood wafted by.
"Be careful, my lady, a familiar is near."
"You just realized?" I chuckled, "you must be getting rusty."
"You have the audacity to mock a pureblood head?" a small boy formed from the bat-like familiars.
"Lord Toma." I smiled, "I knew it was you, father said the new head liked to creep in the shadows. You love watching other people's problems, must be quite entertaining."
"Oh definitely," a wicked smile came across the face of the small boy. "But the Kuran girl threatens to mess that all up. But I hope she reconsiders considering what I just did to her."
My face turned into that of a snarl, "Then that blood!"
"Yes. It was hers, serves her-"
"SHUT IT TOMA! Lyra we're leaving." I ran towards the blood, Lyra following behind me.
"Brat!" I heard yelled out behind me.
'Humorous, considering I'm the older of the two of us.' I chuckled inwardly.
I got to the source of the blood to find Yuki tossed over Zero's shoulder.
