The next morning Haley groaned loudly as she sat up in the bed. She glanced around as she ran a hand through her hair. She stumbled out of the bed and into the bathroom. She climbed into the shower as someone began knocking on the door.

"In the shower," Haley called.

"Is that an invitation to join you," Gemma asked as she pushed the door open.

"That's kind of creepy."

"When you get done, we are going shopping. You need an outfit for the party."

"I have clothes Gemma."

"You don't have clothes for this party."

"Can we talk about this when I get out of the shower," Haley asked.

"Sure, see you downstairs," Gemma said as she left the room.

Haley quickly finished showering and came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. She let out a sharp scream when she saw someone sitting on the bed. She scrambled back, slamming in to the wall.

"Whoa, babe, its me," Jax said as he stood up and turned toward her. Haley drew in a ragged breath and shook her head.

"Oh god, Jax, I'm sorry, you scared me. Holy shit," Haley said as she pressed a hand to her chest.

"You ok," Jax asked as he came over to her. He gently pulled her away from the wall, his hands holding on to her elbows. "This is because of your step... Ryan."

"Yeah, I think it is," Haley said as she leaned into him. "I don't want to get your cut wet."

Jax shrugged it off and tossed it on to the bed. He pulled her into his arms, grinning as she sighed softly. Her face was buried in his chest, and she was breathing in the scent that was completely Jax. His fingers threaded into her damp hair, pulling her as close as he could.

"You look good in the towel," Jax said as he pressed a kiss to the side of her head.

"I'm not letting you take the towel off me if that's what you are trying for," Haley replied as she shifted back from him. Jax snorted before he shook his head at her. Haley couldn't help but giggle at him.

"Stop giving me ideas."

"Your mom wants to take me shopping again, apparently I need an outfit to wear to the party tonight."

"Seriously?"

Haley nodded at him as she went over to the dresser and pulled some clothes out. She grinned at him as she went into the bathroom to get dressed.

"You want me to talk to her," Jax called through the door.

Haley opened the door as she continued to dry her hair with the towel. "We both know that I am the daughter your mom never got, its... its nice having her around, wanting to do things with me. I really don't mind Jax."

"Just don't let her talk you into dressing like a croweater."

"I think that's why she's taking me shopping, so I don't dress like one."

"I can't imagine you dressing like that."

"What? All tits and ass," Haley teased as she glanced over at him. "I'll have you know, I have a genetically superior ass Jackson Teller. My boobs are pretty great as well."

"I don't doubt it darlin."

"Is there a reason you are discussing my sister's ass," Opie asked as he stuck his head around the door.

Haley simply smiled at him innocently before pointing over at Jax. "He brought it up!"

"Oh, come on, I did not! You were the one that said your ass was genetically superior," Jax shot back.

Opie shook his head at them. "Gemma is waiting for you downstairs. We've got a run to make before tonight brother."

"I'm comin, I'm comin," Jax said as he followed after Opie. "See you later angel."

"Bye guys," Haley called as she continued to get ready. A few minutes later she joined Gemma downstairs. Bobby tossed her a muffin as she walked by the kitchen.

"You look pretty baby girl," Piney said as he gave her a quick hug. Haley had done her best to hid the bruises on her face. They had mostly faded, but the ones on her ribs were still an angry purple.

"I did the best I could with the bruises," she said softly.

"You did good," Gemma said as she joined them. "You ready to go baby?"

"Don't dress her like a whore," Piney warned as he handed Haley a wad of cash. "Try not to spend it all in one place."

"Thanks dad," Haley said before kissing him on the cheek. Gemma led the way out of the clubhouse. They climbed in her cadillac and headed into town. "So why are we going shopping?"

"I heard about you and Jax."

"Can no one keep a secret in this club?"

"Chibs certainly can't. Don't worry, we are all pretty happy about it. Opie and Piney will kill him if he hurts you, I'll kill you if you hurt him, so I think its pretty even."

Haley laughed softly and shook her head. "I'm not worried about hurting him. We don't know one another though, we've got to figure out who the other is before we can make this work."

"I know, and that's why we're going shopping. We're going to show Jax exactly who you are."

...

Haley took her hair out of the braid she had thrown it into as she was getting ready. Her outift was sitting on the bed. Sticking to her orders, Gemma had not dressed her like a whore. In reality Haley would wear all the items they'd bought again.

Haley curled a few tendrils of hair as she hummed softly. She could hear the commotion from downstairs. She knew that several other charters were going to be at this party. She'd been warned by all of the guys to steer clear of anyone she didn't already know. Juice was also under orders to keep an eye on her if none of the others were around.

Haley had a feeling Jax wasn't going to let her out of his sights though. Haley finished her hair and touched up her lipstick before changing clothes. She slipped on her red heels, and rose to look in the mirror one last time. With a small smile, she nodded before leaving the room. She carefully made her way down the stairs and into the main room.

Haley paused for a moment to get her bearings. It was a little overwhelming, there were so many people there. She drew in a deep breath and moved further into the room, ignoring anyone she didn't know. She spotted Chibs and Juice at the bar so she made her way over to them.

"Get a girl a drink," she asked as she joined them.

"Damn," Juice said as he stared at her.

"Well, don't you clean up good lass," Chibs said with a wide grin.

Haley fluffed her hair and did a little wiggle. "Thank you," she said as she batted her eyelashes.

"I know who all of that is for," Tig said as he joined them. "Look, you get tired of Jackie, you know where I am dollface. I'm more than happy to take care of you."

"I appreciate the offer Tiggy, but I'm pretty sure your sexual shenanigans would scar me for life," Haley replied with a grin. She gasped when an arm wrapped around her waist and tugged her back.

"Those jeans are killing me baby, you were right about your ass," Jax growled, his lips right against her ear. His hands landed on her hips and he pushed his hips forward slightly.

"Watch it Teller, that's my baby sister," Opie warned as he joined them.

Haley heaved a sigh and put some distance between herself and Jax. She quickly downed the drink Juice had passed her. She set the glass back on the counter and glanced around the room. She noticed the way that a guy across the room was staring at her. She sighed softly and shifted back toward the guys.

"Who is that," she whispered to Opie.

"Prospect from Tacoma, why?"

"He's staring at me."

"A lot of people are staring at you," Opie pointed out. "You want me to handle it?"

"Naw, its fine, you're right. I'll just avoid him."

Haley drummed her fingers against the bar as she turned back to the guys. She hummed under her breath as conversation swirled around her. Someone was with her all night, but mostly it was Jax. He was always within reach, talking to someone, one eye on her the whole time. Haley moved into the main room, dodging around some people as she went into the kitchen.

Haley reached up to one of the higher shelves to pull down a glass. She raised up on her toes, her fingers just barely brushing against the glass. Suddenly, a body was pressed against her back, grabbing the glass for her and pulling it down. A hand came to rest at her hip, as they set the glass on the counter.

Haley twisted around, a smile on her face. It fell when she realized that it wasn't Jax. She had no where to go, but she leaned back slightly. "Excuse me," she said softly as she attempted to move around him.

"What's your name beautiful," he asked.

"I don't have one," she said quickly. She moved around him, taking the glass with her. She filled the glass with water and took a couple of sips.

"No name, that's interesting. I'll just call you beautiful."

"Good for you," Haley muttered as she headed toward the door. He caught her wrist and pulled her back toward him. "Let go of me."

"Tell me your name."

"Tell me yours."

"Josh, but everybody calls me Tricks."

"Good for you," Haley said as she moved around him again. "I'm going to go now."

"Come on beautiful, don't be like this."

"Look, I'm seeing someone, so I don't want to talk to you, I don't want to sleep with you, and I have no interest in getting to know you, so please, leave me alone, or I will get someone from SAMCRO in here, and they will make you leave me alone," Haley snapped. She jerked her arm out of his grasp.

"Who are you seeing?"

Haley let out a groan of frustration, and spun around to face him. "Jax Teller, he's the next VP."

"You're seeing Jax Teller," Josh asked with a smirk. "The guy that just went upstairs with that blonde slut?"

"No, he didn't," Haley shot back. She took a step back from him and glanced over her shoulder, not seeing Jax anywhere.

"Honey, I saw him, he had his arm around her and took her upstairs. I don't gain anything by lying to you about this."

"You're an asshole," Haley snapped before throwing the water in her glass into his face. "Stay away from me."

Haley went out the door, but he grabbed her and jerked her back. His lips slammed into hers before she could stop him. Haley struggled against him, trying to push him away. She finally brought her knee up and hit him in the crotch. She shoved him away and shook her head. She stumbled toward the stairs, pushing someone away when they grabbed at her.

Tears blinded her as she scrambled up the stairs and into her room. She slammed the door behind herself and sat down on the bed. She ran a hand through her hair and sniffled loudly. Someone knocked on her door and she let out a groan.

"Go away," Haley shouted.

"Haley, its Jax, let me in," he called through the door.

Haley leapt up and threw the door open. "He told me you were up here with another girl," she blubbered.

"Who told you that?"

"Some guy, the prospect from... Tacoma? The guy that was staring at me earlier, he told me that you were up here with a blonde girl. He kept asking me my name and he kissed me," Haley explained. Jax clenched his fists angrily and moved toward the door. Haley caught his arm and tried to stop him. "No, don't, please Jax."

"He kissed you, he took advantage of you! He lied to you! I'm going to kick his ass," Jax cried.

Haley raised up on her toes and kissed him hard. She pushed herself as close to him as she could. Her fingers threaded into his hair, tugging at it gently. Jax immediately responded, pulling her close. He backed her toward the bed, their feet tangling together as they moved. They fell onto the bed together, bumping heads as they did so.

Haley laughed softly and shook her head at him. She kissed him again as he settled on top of her, holding himself up on his elbows. Haley let out a soft whimper as he kissed his way down her neck. A series of knocks on the door, interrupted them.
