Sesshomaru woke up to the smell of strawberries and….singing? He threw his covers back, grabbed his robe and headed towards the kitchen where the smell and singing was coming from.
"Last Christmas I gave you my heart
but the very next day you gave it away
this year to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special" It was both radio and voices. He got closer and realized it was a male and female singing the song. He stepped in the kitchen and what he saw made him want laugh out right. His father, dressed in black silk sleeping pants and red Santa hat using a spatula to sing the words to Last Christmas with Kagome. She was still dressed in her sleep clothes and she was dancing at the counter. They both seemed to not notice him.
"A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A man under cover but you tore me apart
Maybe next year I'll give it to someone
I'll give it to someone special!" Toga spun around, waving his free hand in the air. He stopped when he saw Sesshomaru and dropped the spatula.
"Son!" he said. Sesshomaru shook his head and walked in the kitchen sniffing.
"Father" he said. Kagome looked up from her bowl and smiled. He looked at her and raised his eyebrow. She had a blonde patch of hair on both sides of her hair. He didn't notice it last when she came in the living room zapping people with her powers. Toga fixed his hat and walked over to the radio and turned it down.
"What's that?" he asked looking at her hair. Kagome reached up to pat her hair; she frowned and looked at Toga. He shrugged and she looked back at Sesshomaru.
"Huh?" she asked. Sesshomaru rolled his eyes and walked over to her. He pulled a couple of blonde strands out of her messy bun and held them in her face. She made a small 'o' with her mouth and looked at him.
"My friend is studying to do hair, she practiced on me" she explained she let the strands go and watched as they fell to her waist. Sesshomaru nodded and looked over her shoulder to the bowl she was mixing. It smelt sweet. He looked at the counter and saw different fruits, nuts and a jar of Nutella. His father was at the stove flipping something.
"What are you making?" he asked. She hid a shiver, how does someone make asking a damn question sound so…sex? She turned to answer him and saw chest. She felt her face flame up and just knew she was blushing. She looked up to him; he was looking down at her with his eyebrow raised. Is it just me or is it every time he looks at me he has that damn eyebrow raised? It was hard to think when you had a sexy demon standing so close to you. She tried to ignore tingling feeling she got in her stomach. She didn't need what that feeling meant right now. She put her hand on his chest pushed him back.
"What are you making?" he asked.
Sesshomaru purposely stepped close behind her. He wanted to smell her unique scent again. Never before had he smelt lemons and pomegranates together. It was…enticing, just like those eyes. She turned around and her breast brushed against him. He looked down and saw her blush and wanted to smirk. He let her push him back and smirked. Playing hard to get.
"Crepes" she said. Sesshomaru other eyebrow shot into his bangs, Kagome rolled her eyes.
"You never had crepes?" she asked grabbing the bowl with the batter in and walking to Toga to have him pour it in the pan.
"Yes" Sesshomaru said sitting in one of the stools at the island, "I just didn't know you knew how to make them" he stated matter-of-factly. Kagome gave him a blank look before walking over the island and leaning over across from him. The sound of footsteps running down the steps could be heard. Kagome sat down in the chair across from Sesshomaru and raised her eyebrow, mocking him.
Inuyasha and Kouga came in the kitchen at the same time and took a deep sniff. They looked around the kitchen before spotting Kagome.
"Kagome! What's that smell?" they asked walking over to her. Toga came over then placing a plate of steaming crepes in front of her. Her eyes light up and she grabbed the Nutella and strawberries before spreading them over her crepes and taking a hearty bite out of them. Kouga came to her left and Inuyasha to right. She looked glanced at both of them, her fork hanging from her hand.
"Yes?" she asked. Inuyasha leaned in towards her and sniffed. She leaned away and stabbed at him with her fork.
"Oh, my personal space" she said. Inuyasha leaned back and sat back right in her seat. Sesshomaru chuckled and watched his dad shimmy over to the island with two plates.
"Inuyasha and Kouga sit down and leave her alone" he said. Kouga and Inuyasha mumbled before walking away to the other side of the island and taking their plates from Toga.
"You're not eating Sesshomaru?" she asked over to sounds of Inuyasha and Kouga eating. Sesshomaru reached out and slapped them over the head.
"What the hell?" Inuyasha asked.
"Kagome can barely talk over the noises you are making" Toga chided giving a Sesshomaru nodded towards him. Kagome smiled and started back eating. Toga threw his arms over her shoulders and squeezed her.
"A family breakfast! Kagome you're amazing!" he said. Kagome stopped eating and looked at him. Toga looked down at her and raised his eyebrow. Like father like son.
"Thank you" she smiled. Toga smiled and walked away whistling Jingle Bells. The kitchen was quiet, save the sound of metal scrapping plates. Kagome was the first one done and excused herself to take a shower.
Kagome stepped out of the shower and walked over to the mirror. She wiped it off and looked at her hair, twisting and turning. She fluffed it out and smiled. Though it was long and trouble-some she still loved it. She spent the next 30 minutes blowing drying her hair, and two hours straightening it before leaving the bathroom. She opened her suitcase and pulled out her clothes. She pulled on a pair dark blue Buckle jeans and a black tank top. She went to her other suitcase and started looking for a shirt. 5 minutes later she pulled herself out of the suitcase with a triumph cry. She pulled on the shirt Sango brought her for her birthday, a floral cropped sweat shirt. She looked in the door mirror and nodded.
She walked down to the living room and saw Kouga and Inuyasha already sitting on the couch with sodas and popcorn. Kouga looked at her then back at the TV, the back at her before his eyes widen. Kagome stopped walking and looked down at herself. She looked good with her hair down.
"What?" she asked. Kouga blinked and shut his mouth.
"N-Nothing" he said. Kagome crossed her arms before sitting next to him on the couch. He smiled at her and she smiled back.
"Oi! Stop making gooey eyes at each other!" Inuyasha huffed sitting down on the couch. He looked at Kagome.
"Wow" Kagome rolled her eyes.
"What?" she asked. Inuyasha looked at the TV and blushed.
"You look pretty" he said. Kagome blushed and looked down at her lap.
"Thank you" she said. Inuyasha folded her arms and looked away.
"Keh" he said. Kagome laughed and pulled her hair over her left shoulder before running her hands through it, it pooled in her lap. Sure Inuyasha was loud, brash and rude, but under all that he was a really sweet guy.
"Not good with words Inuyasha?" Sesshomaru said walking into the living room. Inuyasha growled.
"Shut up" Sesshomaru waved a hand in the air and looked at Kagome and nodded. She smiled and patted the space beside her. Towards the end of the movie someone knocked, well more like banged on the door. Kouga and Inuyasha turned to look at Kagome and she sighed.
"This isn't even my house!" she said. She crossed her arm in defiance and the banging grew. Inuyasha pulled the puppy dog look, she felt her hold loosen. After a few moments of the look Kagome groaned and threw her hands in the air.
"Hold on damnit! I'm coming!" she yelled. She pulled her hair into a loose ponytail and stomped to the door, mumbling about dogs and their looks. The person banged again, harder and she growled. She yanked the door opened ready to yell at the person about patience when she gasped from shock.
"You?" she asked taking a step back. The person on the other side of the door covered from their shock they smirked and stepped in the house shutting the door behind them.
"Well Kagome, it's nice to see you again"
