It was early in the day when Tinkerers T.A entered the Penthouse despite all the Shield security measures, she passed through them like they were nothing. Like she had done it all before. She walked through the halls to Peter's room at a quick glance his room looked like that of a typical teenage boy but it was the collection of photos that caught her eye. One of a young Ben riley being embraced by two loving adults which made Marion smile an unordinary smile almost one of a thankful mother "you look so much like your father". Then she turned to the one of him with a beautiful Hispanic sitting on his back and kissing his cheek "she's beautiful sweetheart…you've come so far and suffered so much only to end up like your father and I…I'm sorry Peter I hope when the time comes you can understand and forgive me and my actions" she whimpered kissing his picture and leaving the penthouse.
Ava stood admiring her reflection in the full size mirror she was wearing a jade green dress that clung to her every curve and showed off her assets. The hem of the dress barely covered her thighs showing off her strong toned legs and her chest was considerably more noticeable. "MJ this doesn't really seem like me" she said running her hands down along the hem she liked how she looked but Ava took pride in herself and to her wearing something so skimpy just gave the wrong impression of her.
"Ava this is Paris that is the fashion" Liz stated as she came back carrying matching strapped heals "and you can't wear a mini dress with nonmatching heels it's a law" she asserted as she began forcefully taking off Ava's black heels. Once she finished the 3 girls backed away from Ava to admire their handy work, green was definitely Ava's color "it's a great look but whatever you do in that dress avoid uplifting vents, strong winds and make sure not to fall over" Liz instructed.
"That's not funny Liz" Ava deadpanned, but she had to admit she did look good.
"I think Peter might have to restrain himself from tearing that dress off you" Gwen giggled.
Ava turned to Gwen a mix of anger and embarrassment swelling in her eyes "we're not that far along, we've only been dating a few weeks" she sighed.
Peter and Cross made their way back across the city to the saint Martian canal where Cross's barge was docked "yeah I get a penthouse and he gets a mobile fortress boat I think I need to ask Fury for more accommodations"
The inside was like a well renovated house he had a small wood stove and an elevated bed and kitchen area but what caught Peters eye was the walls lined guns mainly rifles and pistols "well you seem to have a one track hobby Cross" Peter stated.
"A good Marine was always prepared, or so says my father" Cross replied raiding his fridge "I got beer, whiskey and coke…you got a preference?"
Peter stood there debating his answer whether or not Cross was testing him "I'm good" he told him but Cross retrieved two brown bottles from the fridge passing one to Peter
"Another one of my old man's sayings and this one has some truth to it, never trust a man who doesn't drink" Cross said clinking the bottles together "cheers partner"
The two young agents sat down on the couch where Cross removed his gauntlets and Peter his watch believing one another less lethal without their weaponry. "so Mason's clearly involved and trying to keep his role hidden hence his little drama play back at school after Beatle escaped but he also just invited us to dinner at the tower so…what do we get from that?" Cross asked.
"Langley doesn't have the answers?" Peter gasped sarcastically "I'd say Tinkerer is a weapons technician based on Beatles tech a good one and the intel Shield gave me said this group suspected of planning the assassination is building a new weapon and best guess Tinkerer is trying to get us to help him, I mean think about our entry test, the fact that he's taken special interest in us I think he needs fresh minds to develop a new weapon" Peter replied.
"So he needs us and we need a break? I can work with that angle but this dinner you might not want to make an impression remember there's nothing special about us"
A smug smirk dashed across Peter's face, he had a way to leave a lasting impression no matter his cover "have you met my gorgeous girlfriend? She walks into a room and jaws hit the floor"
"Yeah that's what hits the floor" Cross muttered.
"Watch it" Peter warned. Cross went over to his wall and pulled two pistols from the racks along with 4 spare clips "planning on going to war?" Peter asked.
"My gauntlets were damaged when your super merc decided to blow us up so extra stopping power is a concern" Cross replied.
Peter shrugged his shoulders not having a response Cross had a point, one thing is certain though they were going to need a plan and maybe an exit strategy if they were going pull this mission off together. Peter withdrew his cell phone brining up a 3d schematics off the school "Tinkerer spends all day in his office right? but in a room that small he has no room to develop any weapons so he has to have a lab somewhere" Peter zoomed in on the school subbasement "and I'm betting he'd want it in a place that makes all kinds of noise on its own so no students would be curious of strange sounds" he said.
"Sounds plausible…but there's no entrance in any of these hall ways so how do we get down there?" Cross asked
"We play along and he shows us" Peter replied.
Elsewhere in a high security laboratory Tinkerer was busy constructing a scythe like weapon while his T.A was in an office on her computer ignoring the man in black tactical gear behind her.
"you better not be wasting the bosses time Parker!" the man snapped "remember the last time you crossed me your brother in law paid the price do not think I won't hesitate to have your boy killed too!" he growled. Marion turned in her chair but the man quickly forced her back to the desk and brought his pistol to her head "don't push me bitch! I killed an air born ranger without breaking a sweat don't think some mommy from Shield would be a threat to me!"
"You hired a man to build a bomb with 1/3 of its construction plans and no idea of how it's supposed to work. What more can I do!"
"Your husband built this damn thing! He's had to have told you about it! So make it work!" he ordered slamming her against the table leaving a faint outline of a blue star tattoo.
