Mark was surprised; he had hoped Kat would say yes, but he expected her to say she wasn't ready for that. He slid closer to her on the couch; suddenly he was unbelievably nervous, he took a moment to collect himself. Mark took Kat's face in one hand and leaned in; he lingered for a few moments just inches from Kat's mouth. His lips connected with hers; kissing her gently, he really wanted to deepen the kiss and make it more intense. He held back; letting her control how things progressed, he wanted her to feel comfortable. He smiled as Kat parted her lips and allowed him access to mouth. Mark deepened the kiss, as they both explored the other's mouth. Kat wrapped an arm around Mark's neck, her hand buried in his hair. Mark moaned into the kiss as it grew more passionate and intense; the fact he had been the one to moan was exciting to Kat, something she had never had happen before. Neither one of them had experienced the spark that had suddenly ignited into an inferno. Kat moved until she was straddling Mark's lap, never once breaking their kiss. Mark instinctively wrapped one of his strong arms around her back, supporting her. They ended their kiss and both were left panting for air. Staring at each other trying to decide what was going to happen next. Mark finally broke the silence, "Kat; I'm not expecting anything to happen here. I would never push you to do anything until you felt comfortable. You can decide where this goes and when." Kat's response was simple; she kissed him again. As the second kiss came to an end, Mark started to place light kisses down Kat's neck to her shoulder; it was Kat's turn to moan now.
"This wasn't exactly what I thought would happen when we got to my place." Kat said softly, one of her arms wrapped around his neck while the other rested on his hip. "I like you Mark; I like you a lot, I'm use to one night things and this doesn't feel like that. I need to know what your thoughts are about whatever we are doing." Kat look into Mark's eyes.
"Darlin' I've never been into one night stands. I have had them since the divorce; but I find that they are more awkward than enjoyable, especially the morning after. I don't like feeling like I'm sneaking out on someone. I like you to; I'd like to continue to see you, I am talking about a relationship. I have never met anyone like you before, Kat. Like I told you before; the stuff you went through growing up, it has made you a strong and independent woman." Mark looked back at Kat trying to gauge how she was feeling. Kat looked into his dark eyes and initiated a smoldering kiss. Mark wasn't about to turn down another chance to feel her exploring his mouth; he returned her kiss, running his hand up her back to the back of her neck. The two of them enjoyed their make-out session for what seemed like an eternity; it might have continued a little longer if Mark's cellphone hadn't caused Kat to pull away.
"I think someone found you!" Kat chuckled, she didn't bother move off his lap; just moving back slightly so he could grab his phone from his pocket.
"Whoever this is; it better be real important!" Mark growled into the phone; making Kat chuckle and smile.
"O-okay…I take it I'm interrupting something?" Glen said trying to hide the amusement in his voice. "We were meeting at the gym, when you didn't show up I thought I better check on you. Based on the way you answered; I'm guessing a certain blond, bad-ass woman is giving you a work-out of a different kind?" Glen couldn't hold back the snicker.
"Go to hell Glen!" Mark responded. "I have something more important to do right now; go workout and I'll catch up with you later."
"Well if you believe our storyline; my friend, I've been to hell! You know; 'Devil's Favorite Demon' and all. But I hear ya; I'll talk to you later. Hey! Have fun!" Glen chuckled as he hung up with his friend. Kat looked at Mark amused.
"I'm sorry; you should have told me you needed to be somewhere. I would have understood. Out of curiosity; was that the other huge guy that was at the club the night I accidently clocked you "Kat grinned at him.
"Yes; that was Glen but you have nothing to be sorry about. I made the decision to spend time with you; instead of going to the gym, I can get to the gym anytime. Honestly; he had probably finished his work-out already and just called to bust my chops." Mark gave her a mischievous grin.
"What? What's that grin for?" Kat chuckled; looking at him suspiciously.
"You still want to go out on a ride? My Harley is outside; we could just spend the rest of the morning driving around, if you want." He smiled at her. Kat thought for a few seconds and then smiled.
"I like the sound of that; I just need to be back here by 5. Until then; I'm all yours!" Kat grinned at him and climbed off his lap. "Let's go!"
"All mine huh? Now that is something I like the sound of!" Mark stood up from the couch and snaked his arm around her waist; as they walked out of her place; heading for his Harley. Once they both had helmets on; Mark started the Harley up and smiled to himself as Kat wrapped her around his waist. They drove around, only stopping once to grab a bite to eat as some diner. At exactly 4:45pm; Mark pulled the Harley up in front of Kat's building. "So are you working at the club tonight?" Mark asked her.
"Yeah, I had the night of our date off; besides I'm sure there's going to be some biker dude looking to get their jaw repositioned." Kat chuckled and winked at him.
"I'd hate to be that guy darlin'; but then again, I could think of worse ways to spend an evening." Mark chuckled with her. "So I should stop by around 10?" He smiled.
"10 would be a great time; clubs are just getting going around that time." Kat smiled back. "I had a good time today Mark, maybe I'll see you again sometime." She said before stretching up to kiss him. Mark kissed her back wrapping an arm around her lower back; he took a step back and looked at her.
"I have a feelin' you'll see me again real soon Kat." Mark got back on his Harley and rode off. Kat watched him ride away and then headed inside to get ready for work. She caught a look at herself in the mirror and realized she was still smiling. It had been a good day and whether or not Mark did show up tonight; she had made the decision to just be happy with the day they had spent together. Kat arrived at the club by 7; which was much earlier than a normal DJ would arrive at a club, but she always helped out getting them ready to open. She brought a rack of clean glasses to Thomas.
"Hey Sunshine! Did 'Mr. Biker' guy get in touch with you after the whole date mess?" Thomas asked as he took the glasses from her. Kat leaned up against the bar.
"He was at my loft; sitting on the floor in the hallway outside my door when I got there." She grinned. Thomas made a face at her. "What?"
"So he was there waiting for you and then? Did you two…you know, make-up?" Thomas grinned making Kat blush. She threw a bar towel at him.
"No, I didn't have sex with him! We had 2 glasses of Jack and talked. I told him part of things and why I ran out on him. This morning we had another date for breakfast and then we went for a ride on his Harley. Then he brought me back to my loft so I could come here." She said.
"And are you two seeing each other again or what?" Thomas prodded.
"I don't know; maybe. I'm trying to just not get too excited about anything. We'll see if he shows up again." Kat said "I'm going to go get things set up in my booth. Hopefully, I won't need to break up any fights tonight!"
