Chapter 7
(Clary's POV)
Now that we all know the truth it feels like the tension in the air has dissipated and you can visibly see everyone start to relax a little. Our most important questions have been answered and that's good enough for now, there will be plenty of time for me to sit down with Haley and Blaine and talk some other stuff out.
From across the room Isabelle speaks for the first time since the initial reveal of my older siblings "Well that is just insane! Then again what isn't these days around here, and now that all the doom and gloom and awkward introductions are over with what do we do now?"
As we all look around the room at each other wondering what's going to come next, I glance over at the twins and see that they look a lot more relaxed now that they were accepted by the others.
Then from the corner of my eye I see Magnus move over to Alec and give him a kiss, that is not exactly appropriate for impressionable minds like my own to witness (seriously some things just cannot be unseen!). So I walk over to Jace and he immediately wraps his arms around me "Are you okay?", he asks in a worried tone with a slight frown. "I am more than okay, don't get me wrong I'm surprised but there is just a part that clicked and I knew Blaine and Haley were telling the truth.", I reply and Jace nods then gives me one of his genuine smiles before bending down kissing me like it was our first time and the room melts away.
Unfortunately for the second time this week our impromptu make out session gets interrupted, "If you two are done eating each other's faces" Magnus says with a grin "I say we all go get something to eat and just chill because I have a feeling there are still some more questions that need to be answered and that we all need to decompress from this rather stressful afternoon. Yeah?"
"Like you're one to talk Magnus, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have nightmares tonight from seeing what you and Alec were just doing. The damage might in fact be unrepairable and I could be traumatized for the rest of my life!" My statement causes Alec to blush furiously and everyone else to laugh and from behind me Jace says "Since when are you so quick with the sarcastic comebacks?"
"Since I've been spending so much time with you, you're obviously contagious", I say with a look of mock disgust. Jace gives me an affectionate glare "Haha", and then gives me a kiss on the temple.
Then Blain speaks up "No I'm pretty sure it's hereditary Clary, this one" he says punching Haley in the arm "pretty much perfected sarcasm in the family as soon as she learned how to speak!"
Then Haley gives Blaine a glare like Jace gave me "Yeah well you keep it up big bro and I'll just have to kick your ass later in front of everyone and show them that being a bad ass Shadow Hunter is hereditary in the females of this family, Yeah?"
At this point they both have smug looks on their faces and then they grip forearms and shake "You are so on little sister."
Then we all start filing out and heading toward the kitchen arguing over the merits of Thai food versus pizza, and even though this is all so new it feels like we are a family.
(Magnus's POV)
As we all sit down in the kitchen sharing both Thai and Pizza, because apparently a bunch of teenagers are incapable of making a decision. (Who knew? Pfft!) I feel that this was a success, all of them are accepting the news very well, color me surprised because I honestly did not see this as a possible outcome. Unfortunately as I'm sitting here with my arm around my boyfriend and sharing this time with my family, I know that this is only temporary and that soon we will have to start planning for war. And like she knew exactly what I was thinking (which might actually be a possibility it's hard to tell with her) Haley looks over at me, our gazes lock, she nods her head once and I know we are on the same page.
(Haley's POV)
Sometimes the connection I have with Magnus really throws me off balance but to know we are on the same page is reassuring. And with only a nod I communicate that I agree and that this calm before the storm won't last. But for now I'm determined to enjoy it while it lasts, because for the first time in my life I feel at peace with the fact tha- unfortunately I lose my train of thought as Blaine leans over and burps right in my face!
"Do you have to be so disgusting all the time?!", I snarl at Blaine and he just grins at me and continues to stuff his face. While he's in the middle of taking a bite, I stretch my leg out and kick his chair out from under him. Then with a satisfying thump he hits the floor, as everyone started laughing I smirked down on my brother and gave myself a pat on the back for a job well done.
From his position splayed out on the floor he looked up and glared at me "You are so going to pay for that", then he stood up and looked at everyone in the room and asked "Where's your training room?" Everyone looked at each other like they were asking 'what should we do?' to which Magnus groaned because he knew exactly what was going to happen, "Well go on then show them where it is" and they all filed out of the room with me and Blaine trailing behind. And just like always Blaine looked like a kid in a candy store all excited and innocent but then I saw his eyes flash. Oh it is so on, and I think it might be time for the demon to come out and play.
Alright Alright Alright so here is Chapter 7 and I know it's been awhile since I've updated and it's short on top of that so let me just say... I'm so sorry! I've just been really caught up with school and my course work has kicked my ass! But here it is and it's better late then never right? Hopefully I'll be able to update again soon, but until then please read and review! (:
