Hohoho merry Christmas! Hope you guys are going to have a wonderful holiday filled with food, drink and family (I know I will) This chapter is a Christmas chapter seeing as tomorrow is Christmas :)

Enjoy xoxo

This year wasn't turning out as bad as she thought it was going to be.

Clove sat in her bedroom, bags of gifts surrounding her and the floor as well as wrapping paper, tape, and tags. She has just finished Christmas shopping and with only a few days left until Christmas she was very short on time to wrap them and send some out to her friends. After about an hour of wrapping and only a quarter of the presents done Clove's phone rang.

"Hello" she said.

"Hi babe" Cato said into the other end.

"Hi honey. I'm just wrapping gifts right now, whatsup?"

"Oh I was wondering if I could drag you away from gift wrapping for an hour or so?"

Clove sighed into the phone as she switched it from her right ear to left. "I only have a few days left to wrap before Christmas plus I need to start studying for exams" she whined into her phone as she continued to wrap.

"Common for like an hour. I haven't seen you since Christmas break started"

"Fine I'll be ready in ten" she sighed standing up jumping over her wrapping.

"I'll see you then" he said before hanging up the phone.

Clove grabbed her phone and purse before heading downstairs. She had on black skinny jeans with a light pink sweater. She slipped on her black heeled winter boots along with her white winter jacket and pink scarf. She padded down the hallway into the kitchen. Her mom looked up from her laptop at the table.

"Hi honey. Why you all bundled up?"

"Cato called. He wants to take me out for an hour. I'm leaving in a few minutes"

"Alright well make sure your bundled up. Its pretty cold out there, with the layer of snow we got last night"

"I know. I should be back soon"

"Well hurry. I need you to help me finish off the rest of the Christmas baking later"

"I will. Bye mom" she said turning ready to leave.

"Bye honey have fun" her mom yelled as Clove closed the door of her huge house and stepped out into the freezing cold hair that hit her like a truck.

She snuggled her coat and scarf closer to her chest as she made her way down the driveway. Her feet crushing new snow making footprints. Cato's car was already waiting for her by the time she was down her driveway. She opened up the car door and jumped in closing the door behind her. The heat in the car hitting her instantly.

"Hi babe" Cato said as he leaned over and kissed Clove on the lips.

"Hi" she said as she pulled back smiling at her. "So whats so important that you had to pull me away from my gift wrapping"

"Well" he said as he pulled the car into drive. "I wanted to enjoy this winter wonderland with you"

"What does that mean?" she asked eyeing him as they drove down the snow covered road.

"It means that I am taking you out for coffee, and were going on a little walk together" he said before kissing her on the cheek.

The rest of the car ride was silent. Shortly they pulled into their favourite coffee shop. Java. This was the first time Cato had taken her out, before she even liked him. They hadn't been back since then and she was looking forward to having a date she was happy about here. Cato helped her out of the car and into the coffee shop. It was mildly busy. People running and grabbing coffee as they ran around doing errands.

Cato got a table for them and Clove sat down as he went to order for them. She unzipped her coat and slung it over the chair and unwrapped her scarf from her neck. She pushed her black hair out of her face just as Cato sat down opposite of her and slid a coffee in her direction.

"So is this better then gift wrapping?" Cato asked as he took off his winter coat. Clove took a slip of her coffee the liquid burning her tongue before she answered.

"You know you could of just gotten the coffee and brought it to me" she said taking another sip.

"And what fun would that be?" he asked taking a sip of his.

"It means I wouldn't of have to left my house, or my gift wrapping"

"Common lets go" Cato said as he stood up pulling his coat on.

"Wait, where are we going?" Clove questioned before she stood up.

"I am going to show you that leaving your gift wrapping was worth it"

Cato and Clove left the coffee shop with there coffee. They steeped into the snow and cold as they made there way past Cato's car.

"Where are we going?" Clove asked gripping her coffee though mitts.

"You'll see" Cato asked.

They walked though the parking lot that had the coffee shop. It was in the middle of a huge plaza with a grocery store, a nail salon, a photo centre, a drug store and a laundry mat. Cato took Clove hand in hand there coffee's in the other as he lead them beside and then behind the grocery store. Behind the building was just an empty parking lot, used for employes of the building but there was no cars there. Off the parking lot was a lot of trees that surrounded the parking lot. It was like a forest. Cato led her up to the trees and pulled her though as he started walking in. Dodging the trees as he went. Clove didn't question him on it. She trusted him as he pulled though though the mess of trees.

After a few short minutes and pushing past ferns they broke out of the forest. There in front of Clove stood an open field that was enclosed by the trees. The entire field was covered by a fresh layer of snow that was unbroken. The trees where layered with white and the crystal blue sky shone down on them, making the scene seem as it were a dream.

"What do you think?" Cato asked as he snuggled in Clove his arm around her.

"It's breath taking. I've never seen anything so pretty" she said smiling up at him.

"I have" he said as he leaned down and kissed her on the lips. There cold lips meet but sent heat though Clove's body. She used her arm that wasn't holding her coffee to wrap around the back of his neck as she pressed her body to his more as his good hand wrapped around her waist.

Clove felt the cold droplets hit her and she pulled back from Cato to see it had started snowing again. She laughed as they pressed there foreheads together smiling up at each other.

"Here's another reason I pulled you away from gift wrapping" Cato said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a little back box. Clove looked down at the box and small tears welled up in her eyes.

Cato opened the box that held a small little ring. The band was a silver and in the middle there was two stones. A green one and a blue. Beside the green was her initial C and beside the blue was his initial C as well.

"Its a birthstone ring. An emerald for you in May and aquamarine for me in March. They also go perfectly as the green for your eyes and the blue for me"

Clove felt a tear slip out of her eyes from happiness and Cato caught it and brushed it away with his thumb. Clove took off her glove and let Cato slip the ring on her pointer finger on her right hand. It slipped on without effort and fit like a glove.

"Its amazing, I love it" She mumbled at him mesmerized by the ring that was now on her finger. It was like an engagement ring, only it wasn't. "I love you" she mumbled again as she looked up at him. The stone for him really did match his eyes. A perfect pale blue that twinkled under anything.

"I love you more" he whispered back at her before kissing her again. The snowflakes began falling heavy and when they pulled apart they could hardly see. Clove laughed as she grabbed onto Cato's hand and they retraced there steps back to the empty parking lot. They threw out there no cold coffee's which were still pretty full. Oh well, she liked what she got better than coffee.

The two ran back to Cato's car as more snow fell covering the roads and them. They jumped into his car and started it blasting the heat to become warm again.

The car ride home was small talk, mostly Clove admiring the ring on her finger. When they pulled up to her house she kissed him for a long time before breaking apart and going back into her house.

"Hi Mom, I'm home" Clove yelled from the front door as she took off her winter coat, boots and scarf.

"Hi hun, how was coffee?" her mom yelled from the kitchen. Clove made her way down the hall towards the kitchen.

"It was okay, we didn't really get to drink the coffee though" she finished as she jumped on the kitchen counter as her mom was making dinner on the stove.

"Oh? And why not?" her mom asked turning her look at her.

"Because of this" Clove smiled as she stuck out her hand to her mom to show off the ring.

"Oh my goodness" her mom yelped as she grabbed onto Clove's finger yanking it closer to her eyes so she could see "What is this?"

"Its my Christmas present from him" Clove squealed.

"Wow that boy sure does like you a lot" her mom smiled at her as she went back to cooking. "I'm glad you guys found each other"

"Ya me too" Clove said.
