Chapter 3: Brother.
East District, Mount Paozu.
"Alright! that should be enough for today!"
With a sigh and a cheerful smile, Goku brought up his right arm and rubbed the sweat from his brow, his training had been going to his expectations. He currently floated over a lake in the east district. Mount Paozu was his training haven, he could never leave this place, it was his home. But he knew that his home was now somewhere else and this place before and around him was now his training spot. Bringing up both his hands, he slapped them against each other, the dirt falling away from the motion of his hands. Placing both his hands on his waist, he grabbed the small blue sash that he wore and minded his surroundings.
"Well, guess I'll be back tommorow, but... it's been pretty lonely as of late." Goku spoke up, his words falling only to his own ears. A hint of sorrow could be heard in his voice as his eyebrows furrowed together. "Gohan's been studying all the time ever since the gravity room blew up and Bulma...she's been so cooped up with capsule corp. I'm starting to feel like they don't want me around anymore..."
"Hmmm..." Goku mused to himself, a smile erupted itself onto his face and he pounded his right fist into his left open palm "I got it! I'll go visit master Roshi! maybe Krillin will be there too!". Looking to the ocean blue sky, his gaze lay on the white clouds that floated over him. He lifted up his right hand and placed it near his mouth. Pulling in his breath, he let out a shout, a call meant to a friend.
"Nimbus!"
A moment of silence passed as Goku's shout echoed through the mountains and the valleys, and in the next instant; a golden cloud streamed down from the ocean blue sky and found itself in front of the young figther in an instant. Seating himself on the golden cloud, he spoke to it once more
"Alright! Nimbus! to master Roshi's house!"
With the instruction now given, Goku and his nimbus rocketed themselves straight into the pure blue sky and to the given destination in mind. Goku folded his arms over his chest, his hair waved about frantically from the breeze that hit his face, a smile fell onto his face as he observed the lush green filled land below him.
"I wonder how Krillin's been doing, Master Roshi too...it's been a while since I last saw either of them, well let's hope they're at Kame house..."
Capsule Corporation, West City.
"Mom!"
A shrill shout echoed through the corridors of the capsule corporation much to the surprise of a certain blue haird woman. She was currently seated in her labaratory working on one of her projects when all of a sudden a scream tore through her thoughts. Blinking rapidly, her blue eyes turned to the doorway of her lab. The sound of running footsteps caught her attention and she looked on in surprise as a small boy with black hair lined with blue tinges and blue eyes ran over to her with a book clutched in his left hand. His face was riddled with joy as he came up to his mother who looked on in curiosity.
"What is it, Gohan?" Bulma questioned him,
"I did it!" the blue eyed boy exclaimed. "I finally did it!"
"Huh?...I don't under-"
Her statement was cut off as Gohan huddled over the table seperating himself from his mother and gave the book he currently held to his mother. Bulma, feeling curious, received the book from her young son and skimmed through her pages. Gohan watched in awe as his mother's blue eyes widened in disbelief, she instantly raised herself up from the chair she was sitting on, toppling the table much to the young boy's dismay. He caught the table effortlessly and placed it to his side, if not for the training he had received from his father, the table might have fallen on top of him, but that didn't bother him rather his expectations lay in the shifting emotions of his mother's face from joy to surprise and shock.
"This is-!? but!" Bulma stammered out, her gaze falling onto her son in front of her. "Gohan! this is amazing! you found out how the gravity chamber blew up all on your own!"
Gohan let out a chuckle and looked to her in joy "Yeah! it was easy! all I needed to do was change the calculations and the heat capactiy of the chamber!"
Bulma stood in awe at the sudden statement "Unbelievable, I've been trying to find out why the chamber blew up in the first place for the past two months and...he did it in just a week! he's more of a genius than both me and dad!"
"Hey mom?" Gohan called out to her.
Bulma's musings were cut short as she looked down at him in curiosity "Yeah son? what's the matter?"
"You can fix up the gravity chamber for dad now right?" Gohan questioned, meekly. For the past two months ever since the gravity chamber had been destroyed. Gohan felt guilty and would not even speak to his father which had worried Bulma as well. A small smile settled onto her face and Bulma nodded her head. Kneeling down to Gohan's level, she placed a hand on his head.
"Of course I can, you just leave it to your mother, I'll have it up and running in no time! I bet your dad is gonna be so proud of you when he hears what you did!" an affectionate smile aimed itself onto Gohan from Bulma and immedeatly his feeling of guilt dissipated into a contagious smile of his own.
"You really think so mom?" Gohan questioned out, a nervous smile etched onto his face.
Her eyes closed and she smiled once more "I know so, now come on...let's see if we can start fixing it up!"
"Alright! yeah!"
Kame house
"Yooohooo!"
Goku's voice echoed through the air as he jumped off of his flying nimbus and onto the small but quaint isle of Kame house, his two feet landed on the sandy beaches of the quiant island; the dust arose from the sandy shores and Goku slowly stood to his full height once he landed on the beach.
"Well" he smiled and looked around, taking in his surroundings, he looked to the small house that lay huddled up at the centre of the lone island "Let's go see if anyone's home"
Fortunately for Goku, he didn't have to wait long as an elderly voice shouted out from the house "Krillin! where are my magazines!?" Goku stopped on hearing the shout, a second shout accompanied the first "How am I supposed to know!? go find it yourself!"
"Is that any way to talk to your master!?"
Goku chuckled a little as he slowly tip toed to kame house, he crouched down near the window of the house and folded his arms and leaned on the railing of the window, smiling and watching in glee as a fight played out between the two participants. He smiled silently recalling the memories training with his best friend here on the island, his head swayed from left to right as he watched the argument unfold.
"I can't believe you even read those magazines!"
"I can't believe you're not married yet!"
"What?! you take that back!"
"Not until you find my magazines!"
"I told you already! I don't have it!"
"Then find it!"
"You find it!"
"They're your magazines! not mine!"
"I know you read them too, Krillin!"
"Wha-?! no I don't!"
"I know you do! now give me back my magazines!"
A small giggle caught their attention and the two participants involved in the argument looked to their left and right respectively to find the young warrior smiling and chuckling at their banter, Master Roshi's eyes bulged out as he looked to find his former student grinning at him "G-Goku?!"
"Hiya!" Goku responded, grinning as he watched them run up to the window where he relaxed.
Krillin let out a big grin and a shout "Goku!" and rushed forward to meet his best friend, he jumped out of the window and Master Roshi watched as both Krillin jumped onto his best friend
"Woah!" Goku exclaimed, surprised at the sudden reaction "easy there, Krillin" he chuckled slowly. Goku slowly steadied himself as he held onto his best friend who hugged him closely, he looked down to see Krillin grinning up at him "Goku! it's been so long!"
"Haha, yeah it has!" Goku laughed once more before slowly setting down his best friend down onto the ground below him.
"We haven't seen you ever since you married Bulma!..." Master Roshi exclaimed, surprised at seeing how his young pupil had grown into a strong young man "How long was that ago?...it's been five years!"
"Yeah!" Krillin agreed, now slightly irritated "did you forget about us?!"
Goku nervously chuckled and rubbed the back of his head unable to answer them, it was true that it had been a long time, and since he was so busy training and taking care of Gohan, time had gone forward without him acknowledging it. His nervous laugh indicated as much to Krllin who let out a disappointed sigh and looked back up at his best friend. "Well...guess we'll forgive you this time..."
"Oh gee...thanks Krillin" Goku grinned, his cheery demeanor shinning through.
"Man...you can never get angry with this guy" thought Krillin as he looked to Goku once more, eyeing him "He's gotten a bit taller too..."
"Say Goku..." Master Roshi began, walking out of the kame house "You didn't bring Bulma along? it's been a long time since we saw her as well..."
"Well..." Goku began, slightly dejected "she's been busy with her dad's company so it's either that or she's busy teaching Gohan some things...it's gotten pretty lonely lately" he sighed, dissapointment raining in his voice.
"Then you should stop by Kame house every once in a while, Goku" Krillin answered, a slightly annoyed look on his face "it's pretty lonely here too, you should come hang out.."
"Thanks Krillin! I'll do just that from now on!" Goku smiled and answered his best friend, agreeing to his offer, Krillin flashed him a thumbs up "It's a promise then!". Goku fired back with his own thumbs up and flashed him a grin and the laughter of the two young students of the turtle hermit joyously echoed through the island.
Master Roshi let out a small smile on seeing this, he blinked and watched as both Goku and Krilln transitioned back into the children he had the blessing of training "It's just like back then..."
but he blinked rapidly once more on hearing a surprising thing from his former students' mouth "Goku?"
"Huh?..." Goku turned to look at his former master in surprise "What's up, Master Roshi?"
"Who's Gohan? is that a friend of yours? he has the same name as your grandfather"
"Oh, he's my son" Goku answered, plainly.
"What?" Krillin questioned in surprise, sweat falling from his brow and his voice quivered "Y-you mean, this G-Gohan is yours' and Bulma's son!?"
"Y-you have a son!?" Master Roshi exclaimed, surprise and awe evident in his voice. "and you named him after your grandfather?!"
"Yeah!" Goku answered, grinning "I'll bring him along next time!"
A moment of silence passed as both Master Roshi and Krillin stood shocked and speechles, Krillin tried to move his mouth but it would not move, Goku on observing their surprise grew confused at the sudden silence "What's wrong? you guys?...hey?"
"N-nothing! yeah nothing! right Master Roshi!?" Krillin finally answered, his nervous voice evident, he looked to his master silently motioning him to agree with his statement which he did almost immedetely "Right Krillin! nothing's wrong!" and both of them chuckled loudly indicating otherwise. Goku raised his eyebrows in confusion beginning to think otherwise but before he could press the matter.
Krillin sweated profusely and cut him off immedetely "What on earth!?..what is that!? do you guys feel that!?"
"Oh no!" grunted Master Roshi "What?...what is this power?!"
Goku's knees slightly bent as the sudden feeling hit him as well "S-Such an awful power...it's coming here fast" he began, cold sweat hit his face and all the three people looked to the sky above them, a laugh resounded from the sky and then all of them watched in awe and surprise as a man descended from the sky and onto the sandy beaches of the once quaint island. All of them gasped out loudly once the man landed, a smirk was plastered on his face.
He wore a black armour, with two of the platings sticking out above his shoulder and two other brown plates sticking out from the armour's waist diagonally, he wore combat moves which were black but had a brown covering near the area of his toes, a brown fur like belt was wrapped around his waist, his hair was enormous; stretching down all the way back to his waist and he wore a device with a green display on his left eye. His arms stayed folded as tension filled the air. Goku watched in surprise as the man in front of him smirked.
"I've finally found you" he began, his voice filled with sarcasm yet deathly grave "It's been a while, hasn't it? Kakarot?"
Goku on seeing the man observing him, looked to him in nervous confusion "Ka-Kakarot?!"
"Yes...that is your name" was the calm and immediate response.
"What?! Who...who are you?! and who is this 'Kakarot' person!?" Goku questioned him, nervousness flooding his features.
"I think this guy is totally out of it..." Krillin began and slowly walked forward to meet the intruder "So shoo..." he began, waving his hand "go away, shoo..."
"Tch..." the man grunted and the belt around his waist began to glow, Goku blinked and called out to him in worry "Krillin! watch out!" but it was a second too late as Krillin was launched into the side of Kame house with a big hit, he crashed into the wooden panels of the house, crying out in pain.
"Krillin!" shouted Goku in worry, he gritted his teeth and immedetly turned around to face the attack "Why are you doing this!? wha-" Goku began, his strain of speech was severed as his eyes settled squarely to the right of their attacker, "A tail?!"
"Huh!?" Master Roshi exclaimed, fear and confusion racing in his head.
"Kakarot..." the man began, slightly irritated at the currenrt proceedings "What have you been doing all this time?"
"What?" Goku questioned, confused, sweat rapidly poured down the side of his face as the man infront of him pointed at him "You were sent here to exterminate all life on this planet! why haven't you done this?..."
"I...I d-don't know what you're talking about!" Goku shouted at him in anger, now clenching his fist.
"Tch! what do you mean by that?-Ah!" the man began, only to be cut off as a sudden thought of realisation hit him "Kakarot, tell me did you ever suffer a concussion to head when you were a child?!"
"W-What?"
"I'm asking you if you ever hit your head while you were still a child!" the man shouted out in anger and irritation.
"Ah...y-yeah I did, I don't remember it much but I did; what about it!?" Goku questioned once more.
The stranger clenched his fist in anger "No wonder" he murmured, and he looked to Goku once more; his eyes wide with irritation "You are a disgrace to our race, Kakarot!"
"What are you?" Goku began and then turned it into a full blown shout "I told you! I don't know what you're talking about!" Goku answered once more, now irritated and enraged. "Fine..." the stranger began, now seemingly calm
"I'll tell you everything: you are a saiyan, a part of the greatest warriors in the universe and I...I am your brother, Raditz!"
