Wow so the last year has really flown by with this story. Almost 200 reviews and so many people following it and liking it. This is one of the best story's I have ever written and I am so glad that I got to share it with all of you. Your guys support is what kept me writing and excited to see what you would say. Never in my life would I have thought I would write a 35 chapter story in a year, but it was thanks to you guys. The reason I'm getting so mushy is that this is the official last chapter for this story. After this the story ends. I'm just as upset as you guys and I hope you all can show some support for this last chapter.
Enjoy
She was moving in with Cato into there own home in the fall. Everything was moving at super sonic speed and she couldn't be happier.
The day had finally come. The day Clove had been waiting for, for four years. Today was graduation day, she was officially going to be done with high school. It was a Friday morning. Graduation was at three pm and it was only nine am when Clove awoke. After today she was free from high school and was on summer vacation.
She couldn't believe how fast things had happened in four years. This year was probably her best out of all four. She was the hottest she had ever been, she got really fit thanks to the training academy, Carter finally left for good and Cato had come into her life. Even though she had some bad moments with Cato she had even better ones to go alongside with it.
She had Glimmer's party when her and Cato got drunk and made out. Even though she had freaked out about it then she secretly enjoyed the fact that they did. She had the day she finally opened up to Cato after being attacked in the school. That was the day they kissed and started going out. She had the haunted house and when all of them went camping. Which was when there friends found out they were dating. The dance, plus Christmas and New Years which had been crazy and amazing at the same time. Prom was also one of the best moments she had with Cato.
Even though there was the problem with her birthday party and when Carter and Kate rolled into town. But those moments were long gone in her mind and only good ones remained. She was about to make even better ones with graduation today and when her and Cato moved in together in there own apartment in the fall for school.
Her parents weren't crazy about her moving in with him but after they had talked to Cato's parents who explained how they saw it, they said yes to her moving for University.
Clove lay in bed for another hour thinking about how things were going to be so different once they were all done high school. Everybody was in the area expect for Kat who was moving in three days to Florida for school. She was about seven hours away by plane and her parents wanted her moved in and settled long before school started so she was prepared. Things were gonna be different around here without her. Peeta was also pretty upset about the whole thing but there was nothing they could do about it now. They were going to two different schools that were hours away from each other, and Clove knew it broke both of there hearts.
But she tried to shake that thought away seeing as today would be the last day she got to see her before she got on a plane. Just then Clove's stomach growled and she got up to eat some breakfast something she hadn't done in months. She first went to the bathroom to brush her crazy, tangled hair and pull it into a pony tail for the time being. She also went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth.
Once she was done she went downstairs to find pancakes sitting on the counter for her along with a note. It was from her mom. On it it read Good morning hunny! Hope you had a good nights sleep. Enjoy breakfast and me and your father will see you at your graduation as we have to work till noon. Love mom xoxo. Clove smiled at the note as she set it down and stuck the pancakes in the microwave to re heat them.
Once done she ate the food on the couch as she searched though the TV and her phone to find something interesting. All her friends were doing were freaking out about grad was today and how they were doing there hair; nothing really that important. The pancakes that her mom had made were really good though, maple brown sugar with cinnamon and walnuts. It was one of the best breakfasts she had in a while.
As she was done she sat on the couch trying to find something to do. It was only eleven am now and grad wasn't for another four hours but she had to be there an hour early so that made three hours to kill. Doing her hair and makeup plus getting ready would only take an hour so that still left two hours to kill. Getting in the car and driving around sounded good but that required getting normal pants on and getting up, which right now was to much work for her.
If she was going to get dressed for real, it was going to be for graduation not to go out and see random strangers stare at her in her car. Finally she realized she had missed a couple of episodes of her TV show from studying for exams. Once she found the TV shows on demand on her television she started it up and started watching.
Two hours later and three episodes gone through Clove had a mild headache from the TV and now it was time to get ready for graduation. She picked her butt up off the couch and headed up the stairs taking two at a time. She stopped at the medicine cabinet before the bathroom to grab two pain killers. She plopped them in her mouth and swallowed them before she took herself to the bathroom.
From there she started. Her hair was still in a pony as she kept it that way while doing her makeup. She first started by washing and drying her face. Then she took some slips to get the oil off of her face before starting. From there she applied concealer and then liquid and powder foundation to her face. Next was a smoky eye of grey and white with fake eyelashes to her eyes. Finally she filled in her eye brows and applied a dark pink lipstick to her her lips. Finally she pulled out her hair out of the pony tail and and straitened her hair leaving it gracing down her back.
After that she headed to her to closet and pulled out a large plastic bag from it that held her dress in it. She unzipped the bag and pulled it out. Inside was a dress that was short in the back and then long in the back. The bottom part was black and the top half of it was a tube top that was pink. It gave the allusion of a top and skirt while it was a dress. She pulled out her new black heels that she had spent two weeks walking around in the house in with socks on to break them in. She stripped down her t-shirt and pyjamas bottoms until she was left in her underwear. She pulled out a strapless bra from her dresser and slipped it on and then the dress over, along with the heels. She made a little twirl in the mirror as she admired herself.
She made a quick glance at the clock that read one fifty pm. Clove should be getting down to the school by at least two to get a spot. She grabbed her bag with her cap and gown in it and headed downstairs long enough for her to grab her phone and car keys before she was out the door.
She padded down her driveway with her heels making clicks along the way. She opened the door and threw her cap and gown in the passengers side as she slid in and started it. She ended up at the school in five minutes and the parking lot was already crazy. With people in there caps and gowns and parents and grandparents everywhere. Clove found a spot and parked her car. She got out with her cap and gown in hand. She slid the gown over her dress and zipped it up so you couldn't see it and then slid the cap on top of her head. She fixed her hair underneath letting it settle right before she locked her car door and started walking towards the front doors of her school.
The school hallways were a mess. People were running around trying to find stuff and people. She saw a few familiar faces but most of her grade she had no idea who they were. She made her way to the gym were it was decorated in red balloons and red draped covering the brick walls. They had built a huge stage for the students to come up and get there diploma and along there was red everywhere. It definitely looked better then when Clove was in here for gym everyday for five months her first semester of grade nine at the school. But it still did smell like sweat, but she didn't know if that was the permanent smell or if it was just from all the teens that were nervous about today.
She found her parents minutes after and she helped them find good seats to get pictures of her when she went up for her diploma. Once they were seated she found her friends by the exit doors talking.
"Hey" she said coming up to them. All of them were in there caps and gowns so she couldn't see what any of them were wearing, but all of the girls hair was amazing. Kat had hers in a curled low bun that was showed off just under her cap. Glimmer had a bid mess of curls that went everywhere and Kat kept hers simple with a little wave to it.
"Hi" Glimmer said hugging her as soon as she reached them. "We thought you would never get here"
"Hair took longer than I thought, but I'm still here an hour before" she said adjusting her gown on her. Cato came up beside her and put an arm around her.
"You ready?" he asked.
"As I'll ever be" she said looking up at him smiling. "How is it that were graduating high school today? I still feel like a freshman" she said making a little laugh.
"You also look like one to" Jackie said giggling. "Kidding. But she's right. These last four years have gone by so fast I've had trouble keeping up"
"I think that goes for all of us" Peeta said. "We've all been together since grade nine expect for Cato, plus for me it still feels like were freshman. I've never felt like we've grown up"
"I feel like we have" Clove said pushing her hair out of her face, that had fallen forward from the cap. "We've watched each other grow but I don't think we ever realized it. Getting older and doing stuff like being able to drive just seemed like they came, like they were supposed to come. Not come with growing older"
"Okay now your getting all mushy, no mush" Glimmer said hitting her on the arm. "Today is about celebrating, and saying goodbye" she said looking at Kat who hadn't said a word yet. She just smiled as she hung off of Peeta's arm.
"Look who's getting mushy now" Clove said eyeing Glimmer. "Besides we should get seated" she said looking at her phone for the time. "The ceremony starts in twenty minutes"
They quickly found there seats that were organized by last names. Clove was at the front because of her last name Anderson and the closet to her was Kat who was Everdeen but the rest of them were far at the back. There was over three hundred students graduating today Clove guessed as the rest of them took there seats. It was a good thing they had a huge gym as there was at least a thousand parents and family members in the audience. Clove waited as everyone else filed in and found seats and soon the ceremony started.
"Welcome" There principal started. "I would like to thank all the parents and family members that came out to day to see your son or daughter graduate today. Over the last four years these students have learned and loved in ever way possible. Our teachers and staff here have taught them in every way they could and we have hoped we have had an impact in there life somehow"
Around her Clove could here the sounds of sniffles from students and parents. "Furthermore" he said. "We hope that these students take something from here when they leave. Whither there leaving for University or College or going right into working we hope they keep what they learned here over the past four years. As this school year comes to end we say goodbye to all of these students. You all will be greatly missed by the teachers and staff here. Parents, you have made wonderful children for us to teach and for that we are very grateful"
Clove started to feel herself tear up a bit and she wiped it away before anyone sitting beside her could see.
"Now, lets gets the diploma's" There principal said. He called the students up one by one giving them a diploma and skating there hands. It took about ten minutes before Clove was called up.
"Clove Anderson" he said into the speaker. Everyone clapped and cheered, her friends the loudest as she made her way up to the stage. The principal shook her hand and handed her the diploma as she waved to the crowd who clapped. She made her way back to her chair as she watched the rest of her friends receive there diploma's.
"Kat Everdeen"
"Glimmer Famon"
"Cato Hendrix"
She cheered the most when Cato went on stage and there he gave her a little wink and a smile. The diploma's took another hour and a half to go through the rest of the students but finally everyone had there's.
"Now class please stand" he said. Everyone stood out of there seats leaving there diplomas on there seat. "Now move your tassel on your cap from left to right" Everyone did.
"Congratulations class of two thousand and fourteen!"
Everyone cheered and screamed as they turned to hug one another even if they didn't know each other. The parents stood up and clapped as everyone ran from there seats to find there friends. Clove reached her friends in an instant and they all had a big group hug.
"We did it you guys! We made it!" Glimmer squealed. She turned to Kat and gave her a big hug and when she pulled back both of them were crying slightly. Clove had tears well up in her eyes as well thinking about Kat. She grabbed onto her squeezing her tight as she laid her head in her shoulder.
"I'm gonna miss you so much" she said between tears.
"I know" Kat said pulling back crying herself. "But every chance I get I'm coming down here"
"Or were going down there" Jackie said.
"Right. This doesn't end here. I love you guys so much, you are all like my second family to me. I am not giving up on any of you, I can't picture my life without any of you" she said crying harder as they all went in for a big group hug. "We will always be friends" she said pulling back. "I should go see my parents now" she said taking off.
"We should to" the rest of them said as they left leaving Clove and Cato alone. Clove turned looking up at Cato as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I love you so much" he said.
"Always?" she asked.
"Always" he said kissing her.
