Chapter 17-Get Right
At the Hopper mansion, Terra and Thorin proceeded to fight against the female bodyguards. Terra kept making ice attacks and Thorin kept making lightning attacks, however, they noticed that they moved at very fast speed. They also had formidable strength as they kept coming at them from behind and blowing hard punches on them. However, Terra and Thorin stayed on their feet and maneuvered from them to figure out where to attack.
While Layla and Rosalina were in the basement of the mansion, they were suddenly ambushed by Kaila Hopper.
"You've come to take my textbook?" Kaila asked.
"This isn't yours, Miss Hopper." Layla smirked.
Rosalina then breathed a gust of wind in order to blow Kaila in a far distance right into the nearby wall where she seemingly fainted.
"Come on, we've got to get out of here." Rosalina commented.
As Layla and Rosalina ran out, Kaila opened her eyes and made an angry facial expression.
When Layla and Rosalina ran into the next room, they noticed there were metal suits of armour that were moving all on their own. The armour suits made attacks at them, but Layla used her fire magic and Rosalina used her sky magic to combat against them. Layla conjured fire in her fists and Rosalina began to make gusts of wind with her arms. Layla used her fire fists to punch some of the armour suits that were attacking her. Rosalina blew gusts of wind into the armour suits that were attacking her.
However, as they kept fighting, the armour suits suddenly formed a circle around them which had them surrounded becoming difficult to get out of. However, Layla blew a large gust of fire out of her mouth and Rosalina blew a large gust of wind in order to blow all of the armour suits away. The large amounts of fire and wind ended up causing the armour suits to fall down and break apart.
Layla and Rosalina then ran back to the front of the manor hoping to find Terra and Thorin there.
Meanwhile, Terra and Thorin had continued using their magical abilities to combat against Kaila's female bodyguards. While Terra kept making ice attacks and Thorin kept making lightning attacks, the bodyguards kept throwing punches at fast speed at their chest and abdomen. Terra and Thorin took a large amount of punches for them to fall down to the ground.
"Are you two ready to give up now?" The first bodyguard asked devilishly.
"You must not know us that well." Thorin smirked.
"Ice make lance!" Terra shouted.
Terra used his ice magic to conjure ice lances that was used to hit all of the bodyguards at once. Thorin then used his lightning magic to cause a considerable amount of lightning bolts to attack them causing them to faint. Terra and Thorin then stood back up on their feet.
"Damn! Those girls were crazy." Terra commented.
"You've said it." Thorin replied.
Terra and Thorin walked to the front door where they saw Layla and Rosalina with the textbook that they were going to give back to Boss Hopper.
"So, did you take care of the bodyguards?" Rosalina asked.
"Yes, we did." Terra answered.
"Terra, Thorin, you do know that this isn't a good place for you two to be half-naked." Layla commented pointing out that Terra and Thorin were both not wearing a shirt "We're in a rich woman's mansion."
"Terra, I bet your father Gray has been asked that a lot, hasn't he?" Rosalina questioned.
"Yes, he has." Terra answered.
Terra, Thorin, Layla, and Rosalina proceeded to walk out of the mansion to give the textbook back to Boss Hopper.
"Damn, rich people are freaking crazy." Layla commented "It's hard to believe that my mom was born from these kinds of people."
Layla recalled the moment when her mother Lucy talked to her, Zane, and Leonardo had gave her advice after telling her life story.
"You see, kids, if there's one there's a word of advice I can give you from my experience, I can tell you that if you follow your heart, you will find your own kind of richness." Lucy explained "Money can't buy happiness."
"Thank you, Mom, for those wise words of wisdom." Leonardo commented.
Later that day, Terra and Thorin arrived back at the Fairy Tail guild hall back in their traditional outfits along with Layla and Rosalina. Gray came by to hug his son Terra and Laxus came by to hug his son Thorin.
"So, how did your job go?" Gray asked.
"It went great, Dad." Terra answered.
Laxus suddenly smelled something odd about Thorin when he hugged him.
"Thorin, what happened on your wizard job?" Laxus asked "You smell like sweat and fear."
"Dad, how do you know what fear smells like?" Thorin asked back.
"If you knew your father much more than you do now, you would know that he caused a great amount of fear in his early years." Mirajane answered as she walked by.
"Damn, I hate it when she tells those stories." Laxus commented.
"Don't worry, Dad." Thorin said to Laxus "Terra and I had each other's backs. The bad guys we had to face were pretty ferocious beings, but we beat them."
At that moment, Layla walked over to her mother Lucy to hug her.
"Guess what, Mom?" Layla asked "We beat the bad guys."
"I knew you could do it." Lucy commented "Natsu, where are Zane and Leonardo?"
"They went off on another job with Selena and Rila." Natsu answered.
"We were going to wait until your older brothers get back, but I guess I should tell you now that you're back." Lucy explained "We were also on a job also, and we found a lost teenage boy who will be staying with us."
"I'm going to have another brother?" Layla asked.
"Yes, I was against the idea at first but…I see potential in this kid." Natsu answered.
"Layla, meet your new brother…his name is Snake." Lucy introduced.
Layla then met a young 14 year old wizard named Snake. He had light brown hair, green eyes, and his newly added Fairy Tail insignia tattoo was on his left hand. Snake was wearing a white jacket and black pants. When Snake was about to show his left hand for a handshake, an actual snake's head poked out of his sleeve which he put back for Layla to shake his hand.
"It's nice to meet you, Layla." Snake greeted "So, you're a Fire Dragon slayer just like your father Natsu."
"Yes, what kind of wizard are you?" Layla asked.
"I'm a master of poison magic." Snake answered.
"You know, you remind my parents of another wizard who possessed that kind of magic." Layla mentioned "His name was Cobra. Do you know Cobra?"
"You're asking me if I know another wizard because I practice the same type of magic as him." Snake mentioned back awkwardly "But if you must know, I don't know anyone by the name of Cobra."
"Are you sure? Isn't he your father or something?" Layla asked.
"I don't know, I've never met my birth parents." Snake answered "Anyways, I'm so excited to be here in the Fairy Tail guild hall."
From that moment, Layla continued to get to her newly adopted brother Snake as they proceeded to hang out.
