Hermione frown as she headed down to breakfast the next day. She knew Cedric would be there and she needed to speak with him about the dream, well more like vision, she had that night. They both had been looking for days for answers as to what had happened to her and now she had somewhat of an answer even though there were still a lot of blanks. She was happy to have some answers, but it irked her that the hours she had spent in the library had been a waste since her dreams had been the key all along. Well at least she and her boyfriend had gotten to spend some quality time together so it wasn't a total waste of time.
Finally the Gryffindor girl made it down to the great hall, but instead of heading to the Gryffindor table to find Harry and Ginny, she made a detour to the Hufflepuff table once she spotted her boyfriend sitting next to a few friends and laughing. Usually he would come to their table, but once in a while he would hang out with his fellow housemates and friends. When he saw her today however, Cedric immediately knew something was up and so he dismissed his friends and moved with Hermione to the end of the table where it would be just the two of them.
"I had this dream last night, well more like a memory or vision, but I had this dream and I know what happened to me." She started as they sat down and he poured them each a drink of pumpkin juice. "Somehow Voldermort knows about our bond, well he knows something happened to us and he must know more than we do because it scares him. I could actually feel his fear. Voldermort knows something he doesn't want us to figure out and I think it may help in defeating him, but the problem is I have abso-bloody-lutely no idea how to find out what causes him so much fear."
Cedric was both intrigued and horrified by this information. "How could he have possibly found out? We haven't told anyone else and those who do know would die before telling him anything. Hermione, this is bad, if he knows anything that means you could be in danger."
'You could be in danger as well." She countered with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't care about what happens to me Hermione!" He snapped before quickly lowering his voice when a few students gave him odd looks. "My only concern is you is your safety. I will not allow anything to happen to you again Mione, it's my job to keep you safe."
"Not at the risk of your own safety." Hermione gave him a look which indicated that nothing he said would change her mind on the matter. "Look Cedric, this isn't just about us. A war is on the horizon everyone knows that and Harry is the key to it all, but if I can do something to help him then I am going to do it because he's my best friend and he shouldn't have to fight this war on his own. Harry would do the same for either of us and you know it. Besides, I don't know for sure Voldermort knows anything. For all I know he could be afraid of Harry and doesn't know anything about you and I. All I am suggesting is that maybe we try to find out more, search for it in our dreams. We have been wanting to practice the dream walking thing for a while now and this seems to a great way to do that."
Her boyfriend sighed as he thought about what she had just said. While he would do almost anything to help out Harry, the one thing he would not do was put the love of his life in danger and playing dream spy seemed dangerous to him. "I don't know Mione, even playing spy in our dreams seems a bit dangerous. For all we know this could be what he wants. We should at least speak with Dumbledore or someone from the order about this."
The brown haired bookworm huffed, but nodded in agreement. "I suppose you have a point. I agree we should speak with Dumbledore before we decide on anything. I hope you realize though that no matter what he says, I am going to do what I can in order to help Harry."
Her boyfriend smirked as he reached across the table and took her hands in his larger ones. "Oh I know that love, but I have to at least try to keep you out of trouble. Someone has to be around to keep you out of trouble and as I've told you before, we are in this together good and bad and dangerous, you and I until the end Granger so you better get bloody used to it."
"As should you." Hermione told him with a smile as she leaned across the table to brush her lips against his softly. "If you are finished eating we should take a walk before class starts; it's such a nice day outside."
Cedric winked at her as they stood up at the exact same time. "Granger, if I didn't know any better I would think you are trying to butter me up to your way of thinking, but there is no possible way a Gryffindor like you would do something as devious as that am I right?"
In a rare moment of playfulness Hermione winked back at him. "Well I guess it's a good thing you do not know any better."
"I always knew you weren't as innocent as you seem. I guess I am rubbing off on you."
