Chapter 26

The next day Clark accompanied Chloe in visiting the prison to deliver the good news to Dexter McCallum about the Mayor's confession over Louise's murder. He was not in the best health and it is in the prison hospital where they find him. Clark helps a nurse place the elderly, frail man in a wheelchair. Age had taken its toll. His hair was white, his skin wrinkled and he had some short white stubble on his chin.

With the Mayor's confession it was going to be short order that Dex was released from prison now.

"I never expected to see this day," Dex says, laughing slightly, almost giddy. 50 years. "It's still so hard to believe about Billy," he tells the two teens. "Did you know he came to visit me every Sunday for the first two years I was in here?"

"I'm sorry. I know he was your friend," Clark says to him feeling bad for the man. Just imagine how the betrayal must sting.

Dex looks up at the boy. "Hiram's grandkid, huh?" he queries over who the young man said he was.

"Yes, sir," Clark answers, nodding.

"Good people. Good friends. Never did believe I did it," Dex recalls with a fond smile as he remembers them.

And Clark thinks he knows why they never did thanks to Jor-El's memories. They were good judges of character.

"I remember, just before they threw me in here, seeing your father born," Dex says with a sad shake of his head because that little baby boy is all grown up and the son of that baby is now standing here a young man. So much lost time.

The nurse starts to push the chair slowly and Clark and Chloe walk along next to Dexter.

"I'm sorry no-one discovered this sooner," Chloe gives him her sorrow over it.

"I guess I always knew how Billy felt about Louise," Dex says, reflecting back. "But I never imagined he could do a thing like that. And him confessing after all these years. It doesn't make any sense."

"Maybe it had been haunting him," Clark says with deliberate irony.

"It can be a terrible thing when love consumes you and takes over. I was so in love with Louise I just couldn't see she didn't feel the same way about me. I wish I'd known when to let go," Dex says sadly.

For some reason the words strike a resonance with Clark.

Chloe bites her lower lip. "Yeah. I, um, talked to your niece, Nell and let her know about everything but I can't promise what she'll do next." she says, a little sad about Nell's attitude.

Dexter nods sadly. "I've been the family's dirty secret for 5 decades. I suppose you don't just accept how much things change instantly."

Yeah but it's not like Nell has a lot of other family. With Lana gone she really doesn't. Chloe thought Nell would be more enthused and happy about this than she seemed to be. Maybe being cold and detached just runs in the family.

Once their time at the prison is over Clark runs Chloe back to Smallville. He stops a short distance outside town and they start to walk the rest of the way.

"So you gonna tell me what's bothering you?" Chloe asks him because she can tell something has been since they left the prison.

"Huh?"

"Clark you've been quiet...even for you and you've already mentioned your sorrow over Toyman to me...though forgive me for not taking your word for what happened down in that place. Even for Smallville that guys sounds like an 11 on my weirdar." A system of measurement that only goes up to 10.

Clark smiles momentarily. Yeah, Toyman takes many a biscuit.

"Look Clark, we did good. An innocent man will be freed and a guilty man will be locked up," Chloe points out the good deed they have accomplished.

"And Louise will still be dead," Clark lays down the grimmer side. "If Jor-El had just been a grown up and not let her fall in love with him nothing would have happened to her," he argues what he thinks.

"I'm not so sure that's the case, Clark," Chloe argues back. "One can only put up with being trapped in a loveless marriage for so long before you snap. Normally I'm a cynic when it comes to love but I can't help thinking Louise was lucky. Even if it was only for a few days, she knew what it felt like to really be in love."

"Still not convinced she did...and Jor-El...he never said it back to her you know. He said he loved her when my grandfather caught him but I'm still not sure he really did. Bottom line is he shouldn't have led her on as he did when he knew there was no future for them."

"Alright what is it, Clark?" Chloe asks again. "You've been really down on romance this whole trip. Is it still Rogue?" she probes, trying to get to the bottom of what is with his mood this entire trip.

Clark sighs. "No."

"Then what is it?" she asks. Clark's not this cynical normally. Usually it's Chloe who is when it comes to romance.

Clark ponders what to say but truth is he needs to tell someone. He needs advice. "Did I mention Callisto and the Morlocks to you?" he asks, even if he knows the answer.

"Yeah?" Chloe says, puzzled. "What about them?"

He kinda mumbles his response.

"Sorry? What? Not all of us are blessed with superhearing, Clark."

He tries again but his voice is still softly spoken. "I'm sleeping with Callisto."

Chloe's eyes go wide. "Uh...um...wow," she says, caught off guard, totally not expecting that.

"We're not dating. It's just...well I don't know actually."

Chloe takes a moment. She has never seen Clark as a 'just sex' sort of person. "So this whole thing with Jor-El and Louise has gotten you wondering what it is you're doing," she makes a guess.

"Chlo...I've been wondering what I've been doing for the last month."

"Month?!" Chloe splutters in surprise.

"But I can't seem to stop. I'm seriously thinking I'm cracking up."

Well Mr Kent did say something like that to her and after the 'Good Andi, Bad Andrea' incident Chloe sorta of agreed. This is only reinforcing it. "Well do you love her?"

Clark looks at her peculiarly. "What? No," he snorts. "I barely know her."

"So let me summarise this. You're her booty call."

"I'm her what?!"

"Booty call. When she snaps her fingers you come calling to satisfy her itch, yes?"

"No!" Clark denies.

"She comes running to satisfy your itch?"

"I don't get an 'itch' Chloe. I'm not human, remember?"

"Yet you're sleeping with her," Chloe shoots down his denials.

Clark runs his hand through his hair showing how flustered he is getting.

"How did this start?" Chloe asks him.

Clark tells her. About how right after the incident with Pow-R8 he went to see Callisto and they argued and then next thing he knows they're having sex and like once a week since at least they meet up.

Chloe takes a moment. "Clark, you claim it's not a booty call but it sounds exactly like that. You meet up and have sex and according to you there's no more depth than that."

"I do admire her."

"Oh I'm certain you do. I think we can guess what you admire most about her."

"Stop that, Chlo. It's not like that," he snaps, slightly angry at his implication.

"Then what is it like?" she asks him to clarify it to her because she can't see what it is from what he's told her so far.

Silence.

"So I come back round again to is this about Rogue?"

"How do you figure that?" he asks, unable to see the connection.

"Well unless you tell me differently what this seems like is you, getting that momentary connection and physical release that comes with sex but none of the emotional investment and risk of getting burned that comes from a proper relationship. You're easing your loneliness but trying to avoid the risk of getting hurt to put it more succinctly and I'm guessing this Callisto is a willing receptacle which would be why you keep going back."

Clark takes a few moments to think on that. Does all of this stem because he's still not over Rogue?

"Does it still hurt when you think of Rogue and how it ended?" Chloe asks softly, taking care not to step too hard on his feelings.

"Won't it always hurt?"

"I guess a little but not to the point it should stop you moving on...unless you truly believe breaking up was a mistake."

"It's not like it could continue as it was, Chlo. We've talked about it."

Chloe nods in concession. Yeah, she had turned into Clark's sounding board a little as he recovered from the break-up and yeah, it was hard to see how Rogue and Clark could continue unless both of them were willing to change and open up more to the other. "Do you feel like you're leading Callisto on? Like you said you thought Jor-El was doing with Louise?" she asks, wondering if that is what is bothering him. That idea in his head.

"I don't think I am. We both agreed what this was."

Chloe arches a sceptical eyebrow. "Yet it's clearly bothering you and something about this scenario with your father is resonating with you. Otherwise you would have kept silent and never raised it with me."

"I don't want to give Callisto false hope of anything more. Like I said we just agreed it was...sex," he says with a pause, showing he isn't really comfortable talking to Chloe about this but she's all he's got at the moment.

"Clark you can try and say it's just sex but sooner or later feelings will get involved. Now I can't speak for Kryptonians but humans are very emotional beings. Question is what will you do then? I mean do you want to try and have a proper relationship with this woman? Can you imagine having one with her?"

Clark blinks as his mind tries and does just that. Imagine him and Callisto. He sighs. "No."

"Then perhaps you should quit while you're ahead. I think your doubts may be you trying to tell yourself exactly that. You've had a few weeks of fun. Take that. Move on because no offence I just can't see this as you. You're not a 'just sex' sort of guy."

"Is that a compliment?"

"Statement of fact."

"So...I should just tell Callisto what precisely?" he asks for advice.

"The truth. Clark, we women are not so fragile we can't handle a dose of truth. Just say what you've just agreed with me. That this 'relationship' isn't going anywhere and you should just be friends...on second thoughts don't say that last bit. That always sucks."

Clark looks at her in disbelief considering she said exactly that to him after the Spring Formal.

"What?" Chloe asks at his expression, completely oblivious somehow.

Clark doesn't raise it, even if he could and says instead, "I'm curious when you became an expert of what sex is."

"Lois and I talk, Clark. It's not a taboo to discuss sex. Plus I'm not exactly a shy virgin myself."

Clark looks at her twice. "Since when?" he asks at this revelation. She never told him that.

"Oh, um, when I was interning at the Planet that summer back. Met a guy. Jimmy. He was kinda sweet and I needed that considering everything that had happened and well one thing led to another," she says with a shrug.

Clark did not know this. Truly. Course not that he can say much himself about that summer. That was the red K one.

"So what will you do?" Chloe asks, getting the subject off of herself.

Clark shoves his hands into his pockets. "Think of what to say to Callisto I suppose," he says, showing he has conceded he can't let this carry on as is.

Chloe runs his arm. "It'll be alright Clark."

Clark makes a soft snorting sound. He doubts that. "I'm not going home yet. I want to go to the caves first. See what happened with Jor-El and my grandfather if I can."

"See how it ends," Chloe summarises.

Clark nods. Yep. That's it exactly.

Smallville Mutant Community...

Charles and Lilandra are discussing the ramifications of what they did with the Mayor over the kitchen table.

"Everything's on hold until we get a new Mayor," Lilandra is telling him about their situation.

Charles nods. "Well buying ourselves time is not such a bad thing on this occasion. Gives the lawyers more time to try and sort out the ownership rights."

Lilandra had to concede that was true. Still it leaves the uncertainty of who the new Mayor will be and what their attitude to her and her community will be like.

"Whenever this issue arises again don't hesitate to call me," Charles tells her.

"You don't even think twice about that do you?"

"Course not."

Lilandra smiles warmly. "So what about Lex? Can we do anything about him?" she wonders. "Can we link him to Bloodsport?" she asks, since Superman had told Charles about it and he, in turn, told her.

"Superman was not hopeful. If we assume Lex equipped this man then he would never have been foolish enough to make it traceable back to him. Ms Sullivan will no doubt inform Nightwing and they shall continue the investigation but beyond that there is little more we can do."

The Mayor, Lex, meteor mutants misusing their powers. That's Lilandra life...plus she has her own community to try and rebuild and keep together. Not easy. Especially now with the degenerative disease slowly afflicting them. "Thank you," she says because she can't think of anything more fitting to say.

"For?" Charles queries. She doesn't need to thank him but he's curious about what exactly.

"Talking and helping my people. It's been tense around here lately," she elaborates.

Charles is with her. During his time here he has tried to help the community cohesion. Be an extra ear to listen and offer advice to anyone. Look there are people here who are not saints. Not by any stretch of the imagination but most people have the same basic aims in life...and that is simply to live in peace with a roof over their heads and a job so as to provide for themselves and one day, if they're lucky, their family. Charles just reminded them that in fact their best chance of that is sticking together with Lilandra...and not listening to people like Magneto who only want to stir trouble and sow strife and division.

It's not an easy message. Never has been. Never will be but it is the one Charles expunges and will continue to do so with everything he has.

"You must know your thanks are not necessary, Lilandra. I would do anything in my power to aid you," Charles feels a need to tell her.

Lilandra rises to her feet, walks round the table, bends down and kisses him right on the lips.

Charles is surprised. They've never shared a kiss before but he soon finds himself returning it.

It's nothing overly passionate but it is far further than they have dared allowed themselves to take their mutual attraction.

That's the thing when you're psychic. They both knew they were attracted to each other. You can't really hide it.

Lilandra pulls back a smile on her lips.

"What was that for?" Charles asks, his voice a little hoarse.

"A thank you...and a warning."

Charles frowns. "Warning?"

"Not to be so long in visiting again," Lilandra joke warns him...though she does also mean she hopes it won't be so long.

Charles smiles. "I'll do my best," he says, his promise laden with many implications.

Kawatche Caves...

With Tess vanished after the battle in Smallville the status of the caves was left in limbo so the dig Professor Willowbrook had been previously undertaking was also in limbo.

The place was currently abandoned.

Clark wanders around touching the walls and images, hoping to get something on his father and his grandfather. He has a phone attached to his ear catching his family up on events.

"So you think Toyman survived?" Claire's voice pipes up.

"I don't doubt it. There's no trace of him...again. Just like last time," Clark says with a sad tone that it all ended pretty much the same like last time.

"And will he be still coming after Lex, you think?" his mother wonders.

"Eventually. With his base and most of his toys destroyed I suspect he'll go away, find a new home, rebuild his toys. That'll take him awhile."

"Are you ok, son?" his father asks. Jonathan knows these things can upset Clark.

"No worse than last time. I just wish I knew a way to reach him. He didn't deserve what happened to him," he says, his voice showing his frustrations at failing, now twice, to save Schott from himself.

"Clark...he's a fruitcase," Claire argues.

"So are you yet we keep you around," he says with a smirk.

"Fuck you!" Claire spits down the phone.

"Claire. Language," Martha reprimands her daughter.

"Sorry," she says shortly.

"I know he's a little unhinged," Clark says, accepting that Toyman is indeed that. "But I can't blame him considering what he's been through. I just wish it didn't keep ending like this. I...huh."

"Honey?" his mother inquires at the huh.

"You know that mark I found the pendant in on Nova Roma," he mentions what he mentioned to his parents when telling them the story.

"Yes?" his father says in a querying tone.

"The same mark is here on the cave wall. I never noticed that before," he lightly remarks at the oddity of the fact he has never previously noticed it. He thought he had memorised everything in these caves by now.

"What does it mean?"

"Not sure. It's possible Jor-El originally intended to leave the pendant here before everything that happened to him on Nova Roma," Clark speculates. He reaches up and touches the mark and new memories flood into his head.

Jor-El and Hiram are together in the cave. Jor-El is holding the pendant...seemingly in thought.

"Are you alright?" Hiram asks.

Jor-El manages a sad smile. "Just lost in bad memories." He turns and shakes Hiram's hand. "Thank you, Hiram."

"Are you sure you'll be alright here?" Hiram asks again.

"Quite certain. I have friends who will be picking me up shortly. There are just a few...things...family relics left for safe-keeping I have to go check on 1st and then I'll be off home."

Hiram isn't quite sure what that means but decides not to ask. "I can usually tell an honest man when I see one. I'm sorry you ran into trouble here. There's plenty of good folks in Smallville," he feels he needs to almost apologise.

"I'll remember that. Congratulations on the baby. He's lucky to have you as parents."

"If there's anything you ever need, you know where to find me," Hiram offers.

Jor-El seems to take that one in deep thought

"Clark?" his father's voice brings him back to the present.

"Sorry. Another memory."

"What did you see?"

"Grandpa Kent came here with Jor-El. Just to make sure. Jor-El told him he had a few relics to check up on and then he was going home."

"The 3 stones," Claire reckons.

"Yep. Now we know how he went from here and ended up on Nova Roma. It's just..."

"Just what, honey?" his mother asks.

"Grandpa Kent told Jor-El that if there was anything he needed..."

Clark lets it hang.

"What does that mean?" his father asks.

Clark lays down what he means which is quite a revelation. "Mom, dad...I don't think you found me by accident. I think you were chosen."

Bayville Sewers...

You know after Clark let it sink in for awhile he realised it didn't matter how he came to mom and dad. The point is he did and Jor-El, for once, made the right decision. He couldn't have chosen better parents for Clark.

Clark doesn't know if he'll go as far as saying that next time he's up at the Fortress. Wouldn't want to inflate more Jor-El's ego.

Eventually he'll discuss all this with Jor-El but Clark decided not today. Today...right now he's going to resolve this thing with Callisto once and for all. It can't go on. He can see that. If there's anything he learned for his father's memories it's that and he won't take the risk of making the same mistakes Jor-El did.

So after saying his goodbyes in Smallville he came directly here to the Morlocks' home...you know after changing into the Superman costume.

When he arrives Callisto flashes him a warm smile and that little gesture alone tells him this is not going to be fun in the least but he's not changing his mind. Not this time.

He asks her for a talk in private and they retreat to her private room...where she proceeds to kiss him as soon as the door is shut, her arms around his neck. He takes her arms and unwraps them, holding them gently, not responding to her kiss.

Callisto looks at his deadly serious expression. "What's the matter?" she asks.

"Us," he replies simply. "We're the matter."

"I'm not sure I understand," she says, butterflies in her stomach.

"Callisto...I can't keep doing this," he says gesturing his hand back and forth between him and her.

"Why?"

"For how long? For what purpose? Don't get me wrong the sex is great but apart from that what are we?"

Callisto folds her arms across her chest. She knows she told herself it would end and she wouldn't be upset...but in her head she always imagined herself giving this speech. Not him.

Clark runs his hand through his hair in his usual gesture of frustration. "I spent hours trying to think of the perfect words to say and I could never get them but still here I am. And what are the answers to my questions, Callisto? How long do we do this? And where does it lead?"

"It doesn't have to lead anywhere. I told you there's nothing wrong in two people just finding some release with each other."

"No. There's not," he agrees. He's not judgemental in that regard. "But as a friend was saying to me today I'm not one of those people. Call me old fashioned or just plain weird considering the world we live in but it's not me. And again I ask, how long? Will we still be doing this a year from now? With all due respect I don't see us dating. You said it yourself it would never work. You still think that?"

"Yes," she admits. She does still think that. They live in two different worlds.

"Then this would end sooner or later...and I've decided I want it sooner. Not because I think any less of you. Quite the opposite actually but because for what I said before. This is not me. I don't do this...and it's time I got back to being me. I went through a few experiences these last couple of days that made me realise that this couldn't carry on. That it has no future and leaving open the possibility it could, no matter how slim, would only lead to heartbreak...or worse."

Callisto frowns. Worse? What does he mean?

"If you or the Morlocks need me for anything I'm here but as far as you and I go...don't make me say the we should only be friends speech. I've been on the receiving of that. I know how much it sucks."

Callisto stares at him. He's serious. It's over. Is she upset? Well she'll miss the sex. It was bloody good but angry at him? Wanting to rake his eyes out? Nope. She can't say she does. In fact lets face it. It's his loss more than hers. She made sure to not let herself invest emotionally in him. "Ok."

"Ok?"

"Yes. We're adults. You feel like this isn't for you then we'll be grown up about it and just agree to stop."

Clark is surprised this is going so well. His life never goes this well. Where's the catch? Where's the other shoe to drop?

He waits. Nothing. Whatcha know. He's getting a break for once. "So we good?"

"We're good," Callisto confirms for him.

"Right then. I'll be going. Lots to do. People to save. Crazed supervillains to stop. You know. The usual," he says, making his excuse to leave while the going's good.

"Absolutely. You do know you're crazy, right, facing all those things?"

Superman shrugs. "Meh. It's a living," he jokes.

Callisto's lips curl up into a smile. Hey this probably still counts as her best relationship yet...which is really probably kinda depressing if she thinks on it.

Superman heads for the door, opens it and finds himself face to face with Evan. There's that other shoe...and it's just dropped. "Hey Evan," he greets him.

Evan, now covered in bone armour, a bone helmet, bony plates over his chest and back and over his forearms stares. He hadn't expected this. "Supes," he says, eyeing Callisto behind him. "You busy?"

"Well no more than usual," Superman keeps his reply light and casual.

"Got time to talk?" Evan asks.

Clark knows this had to come and like confronting Callisto he won't avoid it this time. "Sure. In private?"

"Probably for the best," Evan agrees.

Superman follows Evan into the tunnels, rubbing his hands a little nervously. It's not like Evan can hurt him...physically at least but he doesn't want to see the end of a friendship. "So how are you?" Clark asks.

Evan...chuckles.

Clark is confused.

"That's your 1st question?!" Evan exclaims.

Clark looks skyward as he thinks about what other questions he could use. "Yep. I think that's a good as one as any."

Evan looks at him in disbelief before he rolls his eyes. "I'm fine...considering."

Clark winces lightly. "So Callisto said you read my letter," he just gets on raising it. The letter where he explained everything he did during the Pow-R8 incident and how he felt responsible up to a point for Evan's condition.

"I did," Evan confirms.

"And?" Clark asks, pushing slightly just to get this over with.

"I was mad at 1st," Evan concedes. "But now I'm more philosophical about it," he describes how his attitude has changed since he read that letter a month ago. "You see I do really believe in trying to make a link between the Morlocks and the Institute and I couldn't be here if I hadn't been changed like I am."

"You know last I checked Beast was more confident your condition could be reversed. Even had come up with a theory over what had happened to you and what to do," Clark mentions that perhaps Evan isn't doomed to be trapped like this forever.

"Yeah. I know. Still could take months or years to do though. I'm not resting my hopes on it."

"I am sorry, Evan," Clark says it.

"Yeah...and I accept your apology. You couldn't have known I was this close to the edge...plus some of the blame was mine. My powers were acting up that very morning of the competition but instead of going to see Beast as I should have I ran off to skateboard. If we're taking blame I have to accept my own."

Clark wasn't expecting this. He had gotten quite a bit of blame from other people. This seems strangely laid back for Evan as well as unexpectedly mature. "Uh, so we good?"

"Not even remotely. Just not angry at ya about it," Evan says with a smirk. "Now what you and Callisto have been getting up to is a whole other matter."

"Y-you know?!" Clark splutters. He thought no-one knew until he told Chloe.

"Callisto's been making a lot of innuendo laced comments. Even I'm not that oblivious. Plus you know she's been cheery. The others can't ever remember seeing her so."

Oh great. So then all the Morlocks probably know. Can his life get any worse? "It's over. I ended it. Just there," he tells Evan.

Evan looks at him. "Why?"

"Because it had no future...and to be honest I don't even know why I started it."

"I was a little surprised myself when I worked it out," Evan admits. "It didn't seem like you," he comments.

"Yeah. I...I don't know. Haven't been feeling quite myself lately. Like I've forgotten something." And honestly even though he thought Jor-El's memories were the cause of that he still feels like there is something else he's missing. Weird...and annoying.

Evan is pretty certain Clark never really forgets things. Something is wrong...but it's not really his issue any more. He's not an X-Man.

"Ah, well, you shouldn't worry about me. I'll figure it out eventually," Clark tells him. "You though...keeping in touch with your parents?"

"Yeah. Yes. Phoning them regularly," Evan says, a little off-put by Clark's sudden shift in focus. It's reminiscent of a way he acted before and that wasn't good for anyone involved.

"That's good. At least you don't have to put up with philandering fathers and crazed Toymakers."

"Wha-huh?"

Clark waves him off. "I've had a crazy weekend," is all he says. "So are we good?" he asks again.

"We're fine, CK. Fine," Evan decides to just say it. "In fact without you I'd guess life down here would be even harsher if it wasn't for all your little food drops."

Clark shrugs. "It's just the stuff shops throw away. Honestly, I was surprised Callisto never worked out to take it sooner. It just goes to waste otherwise."

And there's Evan's modest friend that he knows.

"So want to hang out?" Clark proposes. It's been awhile since he spent any time with Evan and there's nothing too pressing he needs to do right now. They can catch up. He feels like he should at least do that.

Evan grins. "Sure. Love to," he agrees. The two walk off towards the nearest manhole. "So have they replaced me yet in the X-Men?" he wonders.

"Yes."

"With whom?"

"Bobby."

"Bobby?!" Evan splutters. They replaced him with Bobby?! "Are they insane?" he asks.

Clark shrugs. "Well this is Scott we're talking about," he jokes.

Evan chuckles. "Got me there...but seriously Bobby?" he has to ask again.

"Don't ask me. Ask Scott. I wasn't even there at that meeting," Clark tells him. "And I think it's only a trial thing for now to see if Bobby is up to it."

"Makes sense," Evan supposes. "But Bobby?!"

Clark rolls his eyes. "You're not letting this go are you?"

The answer is no. In fact Evan ends up being hung up on it all night long.

Author's Note: I'd been waiting for ages to write someone telling Clark he's a booty call and Chloe seemed a good as candidate as anyone. With everything he saw between Jor-El and Louise I thought it good grounds for Clark to reconsider just what the hell he is doing with Callisto and bring it to an end. Then I decided I really didn't want to drag out some angst between them and therefore let them end it in a civil fashion. Same sort of goes with Evan. I wrote a lot of other people were disappointed in Clark after his choices in X-treme Measures so I decided to turn it on its head and have Evan, the person at the centre of it all, forgive him. Thanks to everyone who wrote reviews. Next up; the Hellions become the heroes in No Good Deed.
