A/N: Sorry I took so long. School started up again and I feel like I'm having trouble dealing with it. My writing feels like it's crap and my schedule isn't allowing much time for me to write and it doesn't help that I have the attention span of a squirrel at home...
Anyway, Reviews:
Usagi Tsukino: Here's. An. Update!
Thanks for your patience.
Enjoy :)
...
The rest of the day came and went and Cana and I returned to her apartment in Fairy Hills for the night after hours of sparing outside by the river and even more hours of hanging out in the guildhall. Despite appearances, Cana was an extremely strong opponent and extremely skilled with her cards and I didn't know what I was getting into when I had requested her to help me train. I had Rika's journal on me at all times and had studied several different spells. However, executing them in combat was a lot harder than it looked. Cana went easy on me to allow me to actually get the spell in, but her 'easy' is still really hard when you're under the pressure to execute an attack before you get hit by a torrent of rushing water, a bolt of lightning, a blast of fire or whatever other attack she was unleashing on me.
Usually at the beginning I couldn't get the spell cast in time and I had to dive into the shadows to dodge. Shadow Diving, as I call it, still frightened me, being surrounded by endless darkness and beckoning whispers almost made me freeze out of the fear of getting drawn in too deep. Every time I dove in, it felt like the whispers grew gradually louder. I could almost make out what they were saying to me now. Frankly it scared me so much that I couldn't bring myself to speak about it. I felt that hiding it wasn't a good idea, but it still scared me too much to actually tell Master Makarov or Cana or Levy about it.
Besides, they couldn't help me with this..could they? This is something that only Shadow mages have to deal with and thus something only they can solve..right? Whatever the case, I'm going to try to solve the situation myself first before I rope someone else into it. Fortunately, there weren't that many people I could rope in yet, but that was quickly changing. Cana and Mira had schemed behind my back to get me to talk to other people, which I found odd since I had only been in the guild for two days.
Their plan succeeded however.
I hadn't met any people from the main cast other than Lucy but right now I didn't really want to talk to them. Mostly out of fear that Natsu and his Dragon Slayer senses would catch on that I wasn't from this world. The two people I did want to meet were Jet and Droy since tomorrow I planned on asking Levy if I could go on a mission with her and Team Shadow Gear. Unfortunately, they may have been taking the day off as well as they were no where to be seen.
Team Natsu wasn't around either. Which was strange since I saw Lucy only yesterday, but then again, Cana and I didn't come to the guild until about three in the afternoon, leaving plenty of time for the four mages and Exceed to get a job and leave. I did however talk with Mirajane a lot at the bar after she launched her plan and she introduced me to Elfman, her younger brother. A hard statement to believe as he was actually about twice her size. Given that I was a certified midget, Elfman was a giant in my eyes and frankly intimidated me a little bit with his loud voice.
He actually screamed: "Shadow magic is manly!", after I told him I was a Shadow mage and a good number of people turned and looked at me. I was pretty sure my face was roughly the same color as my dress. And speaking of my dress, since I entered the guild wearing it, I could feel eyes on me the whole time. It felt strange since people usually ignored me and it surprised me that just washing up and changing clothes would draw so much attention. I was far from used to the glances I was receiving from the guild and I had to fight the urge to run and hide in the library to get away from the prying eyes. Mostly the men, like Wakaba and Macao, big surprise there. Note the sarcasm. However, another flirtatious boy I had caught the eye of was Loke.
He tried to put the moves on me, but really it only served to make me mad at him and with a quick swipe of my hand, the ring mage was sent flying into Elfman by a sudden surge of shadows. This triggered a guild-wide brawl. Of course, I didn't join and just sat back and watched, this time in the company of Reedus, the Picto Mage, and yet another supporting side character in the manga who needed more screen time. We talked a little, but mostly I watched him draw. Reedus was even kind enough to give me some pointers in my own drawing that I was scratching on a napkin, which I thought was nice of him.
While we were drawing, Romeo actually came over and sat with us. He said he was interested in me since I was new and in his opinion, rather strange. At first, I thought he was referring to whatever Cana was talking about last night, but I was overestimating the six-year-old boy. Instead, he was talking about my stuttering habit. Now that I thought about it, it did stand out in such an outspoken guild for there to be someone who was so soft-spoken that they stuttered every time they spoke.
Being the innocent little kid he was, he asked me why I stuttered. Naturally, I didn't expect the question and I dropped my pencil in surprise, which in-turn surprised Romeo and Reedus, who had looked up from his work, probably also interested in hearing the story. The story of why I stuttered was a long, painful, and frankly gory one. One that I would rather not talk about at all, as the wound left behind by the events was still too fresh for my liking to be "picking at it". And I also didn't want to give poor, sweet, little Romeo nightmares. Instead, I told a half-lie. I told Romeo that it was because I was bullied a lot when I was little and I didn't defend myself, eventually I developed a habit of stuttering when I spoke most of the time.
Naturally as any six-year-old would, he was skeptical but he still believed me. Reedus on the other hand, cast me an unconvinced look that told me he knew I wasn't telling the full story. A short, almost unnoticeable head shake sent the message that it's a touchy topic. After that, Romeo began to tell me about Natsu and all the things he did, of course probably exaggerating a little as any kid would about the person they idolize. I found it sweet that he looked up to Natsu so much, and honestly he should since the Fire Dragon Slayer was truly amazing. A bit rough around the edges, but still without a doubt amazing.
Cana eventually brought the passing time to my attention after the guildhall started to empty. The Card Mage had waved me over to the bar, begrudgingly I bid goodbye to Romeo and Reedus and joined Cana at the bar. I suspected something, and I was right to do so as Cana tried to challenge me to a drinking contest. Apparently the legal drinking age in Fiore was fifteen. Why, I didn't know. I declined Cana's challenge with vigor out of fear to getting drunk as easily as the other Fairy Tail woman and the fear of becoming addicted to it. The drunken Card Mage eventually got the picture and backed off for a while. Cana continued to drink to her heart and wallet's content while I reviewed Rika's journal for any information about the whispers in the darkness.
So far I didn't find anything yet. Of course, it didn't help that I got sidetracked by my curiosity in what Shadow World Magic was, even if I myself couldn't use it. Especially when I found a passage explaining the origins and capabilities of Shadow World Magic. Shadow World Magic essentially was magic that directly channeled the power of all darkness from the world of Shadows, hence the name "Shadow World Magic". Rika had written how it was a power that had been in her family, the Nevermore family, for a little over 400 years. My brow furrowed at the number. 400 years was something that popped up a lot in this world, mostly because that was the era that the Black Wizard, Zeref was from. There probably were other things that occurred 400 years ago that I'm not aware off, but as of now that was what I knew.
Apparently the X300's were an important year for the Nevermores' as supposedly the youngest daughter of the Nevermore family had somehow caught the attention of the King of the Shadow World, Eienoyami and eventually they fell in love with each other and the youngest daughter was given the power of Shadow World Magic as the Shadow King's 'queen'. I said 'supposedly' because there really was little evidence to back up the claim and to me it sounded like an embroidered myth than actual history. Frankly it vaguely reminded me of the story of Hades and Persephone, but with a happier ending and the male lead not being a sly, greedy, and frankly quite perverted jerk. But an interesting fact about Shadow World Magic was that only one person each generation inherited the power and it was entirely random. Rika had combed over her family tree for months, but only found one pattern in the inheritance. I looked at it myself and just like Rika, I couldn't find any other pattern either. The ability hoped all over the gene pool. Some times the first born got it, or the youngest, or the middle. But even that had no set pattern. The only constant variable in the inheritance of Shadow World Magic was that the person who received the power was always a woman. Of course, that's what the Nevermore bloodline mostly made up of. A son being born into the Nevermore's was rare, but they never got the Shadow World Magic. Other than that, there was absolutely no pattern whatsoever to the inheritance.
At this point I was so absorbed into trying to figure out another pattern other than what Rika found that Cana was able to sneak up on me. The Card Mage scared the living darkness out of me by whispering "it's time to go home" really eerily next to my ear. I almost jumped clear out of my seat, much to Cana's delight. Of course, she looked like she was drunk stupid. However, I knew better than to underestimate Fairy Tail's local beer guzzler's tolerance.
Cana teased me the whole way home about getting the jump on me, but after I threatened to use my magic to destroy the beer bottle she was carrying, she stopped. Now it was the next day. I was the first to wake up since Cana had a hell of a hangover from the previous night. It was currently about six o' clock in the morning, the reason why I was up so early was two-fold.
One: I couldn't bring myself to sleep any longer.
And two, I wanted to get to the guild quickly so I could ask Levy if I could go on a job with her.
I didn't feel comfortable piggybacking on Cana so I wanted to get to work as soon as possible. I was excited and scared at the same time because I wasn't very confident in my powers yet. I snaked out of Cana's apartment and quickly made my way to the guild. It had just opened and there weren't many people there accept for Mira and Master.
"Good morning Ame." Mira grinned.
I waved at Mira as I walked past the bar and out the back door of the guild. Master gave me a strange look, but said nothing beyond a muffled 'good morning' into his mug. I hoped that Master wasn't drinking beer this early in the morning, but Master's responsible. It think.
I held Rika's journal and started flipping through the pages to where I left off. So far I had made it about an eighth of the way through the basics. Mostly thanks to Cana's help the day before. I was so busy looking through the book, I wasn't watching where I was going and bumped into someone. That someone was more like a fleshy brick wall. When I ran into them, I got knocked down but they stayed firmly standing.
The book fell out of my hands as I hit the ground and my glasses were knocked from their place on my face and now barely hanging from one ear.
"Huh?" the person grunted, "Watch where you're going, runt."
At first, I tried to see if I could make out who it was without my glasses, but all I could see was a mountainous man with blonde hair. My vision was so bad I couldn't make out much else, but I had a suspicion on who it was I ran into. Readjusting my glasses, I could clearly make out the annoyed face of Laxus Dreyar, Master Makarov's grandson, S-Class mage and 2nd Generation Lightning Dragon Slayer. But of course, this early on, no one even knew that.
The lightning mage's scowl deepened and he leaned forward enough to get in my face. "You mute or something? Who the heck are you?"
I shook my head. "No." I muttered.
Laxus scoffed at me unimpressed. "What's a little runt like you doing in Fairy Tail of all places? I haven't ever seen such a meek looking mage. Heck, can you even fight? You don't look like you could take on the weakest person in any dark guild and come out victorious."
My fingers tightened around the leather spine of Rika's journal. I had forgotten about Laxus and how much of a jerk he was in the beginning. He was just like the people at school who had bullied me...he was just like them. I tucked the journal under my arm and stood.
"Shut the hell up." I hissed darkly, "You don't know a single thing about me, Laxus."
My feet had carried me out of the building before Laxus could even respond to me. Out of all the people in Fairy Tail I had to bump into Laxus. He was the biggest jerk in the whole guild and sometimes I used to think that every person who ever bullied me had been modeled after the lightning mage.
"I'm done being pushed around by others." I whispered to myself, "That...that isn't going to happen to me again. I won't let it."
...
Three hours passed by like a flash of lightning, not that lightning was my favorite thing to think about at the moment. In fact it was my least favorite. I came inside from training and found that a lot of people had come in since six and the Fairy Tail guild hall was a buzz of activity. My eyes darted around the room trying to find Levy as I walked through the guild.
Suddenly, I felt a strong ripple in the back of my mind. I've felt this before when Cana had come up behind me my first night here and the day I met Makarov and each time, there had been something behind me of great significance. Instinctively, I whipped around and held out my hand. An inky purple magic circle lit up in front of my palm as a table came flying at me.
"Midnight Missile."
The shadowy bolt whisked out of the center of the circle and hit the table and split it in half with a loud crack. Both halves of the table crashed down on either side of me with deafening bangs. The guild immediately silenced, all eyes settling on me. Awkwardly, I lowered my hand, which was still hung in the air in front of me.
"Who...threw the table?" someone asked, shocked.
"That's what I'd like to know." Makarov said from his place at the bar.
"Gotta say runt, you've got good reflexes." a cocky voice said from above.
My eyes narrowed as I looked up at the second floor balcony. Laxus was leaning against the railing, resting his chin in his palm with an amused smirk on his face. Just looking at that smile sent chills down my spine and made my blood boil at the same time. We both locked eyes for a moment, but neither of us said anything to the other. Eventually, Laxus scoffed and retreated farther into the second floor where no one on the first floor could see him.
The first floor remained silent in shock for a moment before slowly returning back to it's normal level of chatter and noise. As that happened, I resumed looking for Levy, keeping in the back if my mind the question of who threw the table. I was positive I sensed something before. It was strange.
"Hey Ame-chan! That was amazing!" a familiar voice exclaimed.
I looked to my right and saw Levy running towards me with Jet and Droy in tow.
"H-Hi Levy-san. H-How are y-you today?" I smiled.
"Good, but how did you do that?" Levy asked.
I cocked my head. "D-Do what?"
"Know that table was coming?" the Solid Script mage said matter-of-factly, "It should have been impossible from the angle it was coming at you from."
I tapped my chin. "I-I've been ab-able to sense t-things coming u-up b-behind me a lot r-recently. Ma-Maybe it ha-has something to d-do with b-being a Shadow M-Mage?"
"Hm. Maybe." Levy said, "But it was still impressive."
"Um...L-Levy-san? C-Can I a-ask a favor?" I asked nervously.
"Sure. What do you need Ame-chan?"
"I-I've n-never been on a r-request b-before, s-so I was w-wondering if I could t-tag along with y-you and y-your team on a j-job."
Levy's face brightened with a wide smile. "Of course you can! We'd love to help you with your first job Ame-chan. Right boys?"
Jet and Droy nodded. "Of course!"
I wasn't sure if they were being honest or just agreeing with Levy, but either way I was relieved I wouldn't be going alone on a job.
Suddenly Levy laughed and we all looked at her in confusion.
"Is something funny Levy?" Jet asked.
Levy nodded and laughed again. "I just realized that Team Shadow Gear finally has an actual Shadow mage now."
Seeing her point, I laughed a little too. "Th-That is funny, Levy-san."
"So what job do we want to go on?" Droy asked, steering the topic back to the task at hand.
"How about something simple, but not too simple? Since Ame-chan is a bit of a novice at magic." Levy offered.
I nodded. "T-That sounds f-fine."
Jet's expression lightened. "In that case, I think I know the perfect job."
He sprinted off in what I assumed was the direction of the request board and was back just as fast. Of course, that's probably because he's a Speed mage. In his hand was a flyer with a picture of a bracelet on it.
"It's a retrieval request. Just go into a cave and find a bracelet for some museum in Seleva and we get 700,000 jewel as a reward. Not too easy, not too hard and a descent reward too."
"S-Sounds p-perfect to me."
Levy nodded, taking the request from Jet. "So are we all in agreement?"
Jet and Droy nodded. "Sure. Whatever you say Levy-san."
"Alright. I'll go and tell Mirajane we're taking this job."
Levy disappeared towards the bar, leaving me with Jet and Droy. To say the least, it was kind of awkward. I was a bit afraid to try and talk to them and break the awkward atmosphere. Mostly because I was worried they didn't like me very much. Not a lot of people did like me back home and who says that wouldn't carry over to my life in Earthland?
"So Ame-chan." Jet said, breaking the silence between us, "When did you join the guild?"
"A-A c-couple d-days ago..."
"Hey, you don't have to be so scared of us. We aren't gonna bite your head off." Droy reassured.
"S-Sorry. I-I can't h-help t-the st-stuttering sometimes."
Jet swallowed nervously, sensing he was standing on some uneven ground. "Oh. Well, uh, welcome to Team Shadow Gear then."
"T-Thank you. I-I look f-forward to w-working wi-with you. S-Sorry i-if I s-sprung t-this on y-you."
"Nah. It's fine Ame-chan. Any friend of Levy-san's is a friend of ours, so don't worry about it." Droy said.
I was about to say something else when Levy returned with the request in hand and a big smile on her face.
"We're all clear. Let's go get packed and meet up at the train station in an hour. I'll be helping Ame-chan pack since she's never had to do this before."
My eye's widened a little. "N-No! L-Levy-san t-that's okay! I-I'm su-sure I can f-figure it out! Y-You've d-done e-enough b-by giving m-me cl-clothes and l-letting me t-tag along!"
Besides, you'll probably be paying for my train ticket anyway since I have no money... I added to myself.
"Nonsense! You're staying with Cana-san, right?" Levy asked.
"...Y-Yes."
Levy laughed. "Then you're really going to need some help. Just think of it as a favor for a friend."
"I-I'm g-going to owe y-you a lot o-of fa-favors b-by the end of t-this." I sweat-dropped.
Levy's brows furrowed. Without saying another word, Levy grabbed my wrist and pulled me out the guild doors towards Fairy Hill while Jet and Droy returned to their own residences to pack for themselves. Apparently, the petite mage wasn't taking 'no' for an answer from me.
...
"See Ame-chan? That wasn't so bad." Levy assured as we walked to the train station.
A duffle-bag was hanging from my shoulder as we walked. Levy and I had spent the last forty-five minutes packing it full of spare clothes and other necessities like tooth paste, soap, shampoo, and a hair brush. Cana had woken up by then and said she was thrilled I was going on my first job. She said she would have come too if she didn't have such a killer hang-over and wished me luck.
I shrugged. "I-I gu-guess...?" My eyes drifted to the train station ahead. Jet and Droy were standing outside the main gate with bags of their own, probably waiting for us, "I-I think J-Jet-san and D-Droy-san a-are waiting f-for us Levy-san."
Levy grabbed my wrist for the second time today. "Then let's not keep them waiting."
The two of us ran up to the other two mages. Jet was the first to see us coming and offered a friendly wave.
"Sorry we took so long!" Levy apologized, "Hope you weren't waiting forever."
"No, not at all. We...just got here anyway." Jet said kind of hesitantly.
Droy nodded quickly in agreement. "Yeah. We've only been here for a few minutes."
I sweat-dropped, not believing their story. They've been here for more than that...
"Well, let's get going. We have a long train ride ahead of us." Levy said, entering the train station.
The Solid Script mage accidentally pulled me along as well, apparently forgetting that she was still gripping my wrist. All of us got our tickets but I couldn't help but look at mine with a bit of guilt.
"Hey, don't feel so guilty Ame-chan." Jet assured, "It's fine that you don't have enough money for a ticket."
"I-I'm s-still going t-to pay y-you back t-though." I said, with determination in my voice.
We didn't have to wait long for the train to come, the loud speakers announcing that the train for Seleva was pulling into the station. It was strange being on a train. I'd never been on one before, or really transportation. On Earth, I usually walked everywhere. I walked to school, to gymnastics, the library, and back home.
And I actually found I liked riding on the train. It was an interesting experience feeling the rumble of the engine and every bump along the tracks. And words couldn't even describe how beautiful the view was to me. I didn't realize how fast we were going until I looked out the window to see the city had long since vanished and we were now riding past the country side. The sense of wonder I was feeling must have leaked onto my face because Levy laughed.
"First time you've been on a train?" she asked.
I looked back at her and smiled, nodding my head. "I-It's s-so c-cool!"
Jet chuckled and I felt him ruffle my hair. "You're amazed by the simplest things. That's so cute."
Droy rolled his eyes. "Well of course Ame-san is cute. She's a little kid." he stated matter-of-factly.
Realization struck me and I scowled. "Droy-san. I'm 15."
The Plant mage blinked. "Oh...Uh...I'm sorry Ame-san. I-It's just y-you're so..."
"Small." Jet finished.
"Yeah. N-Not that we mean that offensively of course!"
I giggled and flashed another smile. "I-It's okay D-Droy-san. P-People make t-that mistake a-all the t-time!"
The rest of the train ride went by smoothly, which surprised me greatly. I half expected there to be a dark guild trying to hijack the train since we got on. Instead, we all engaged in friendly conversation the whole time. Levy told me about some of their previous jobs and some of the shenanigans that have gone on in the guild over the years. It was fascinating hearing about what the guild was like when Levy was little. She said that there was always something going on there, usually a fight, but it was exciting to watch such amazing an young wizards even though Levy didn't think she was strong enough to participate.
Jet and Droy cut in saying that Levy is amazing and very strong and so did I since it was the truth.
Three hours passed by faster than if felt it should have and we had passed through the mountain tunnel and reached the Blooming Rose Town, Seleva.
...
Seleva was a very bright town. Happiness and cheer almost glowed in the air around the town. The town itself had a very rustic exterior with cute two-story buildings that had vines of climbing roses growing up it. The blooms themselves were very beautiful and they almost seemed to change color in conjunction with how the light hit the petals.
"Wow!" Levy breathed, "The roses are even more beautiful in person!"
"Have you read about these Levy-chan?" Droy asked.
The Solid Script mage nodded. "The Arcenciel Roses are a type of magic flower that takes the light of the sun and filters the visible light in their petals. I've even heard they glow at night."
"So it's like Magnolia's Rainbow Sakuras." Jet said, drawing the connection.
Levy nodded. "Exactly."
"I-I hope w-we can s-see the r-roses at n-night." I said.
"Yeah. The town must be beautiful at night." the High Speed Mage noted.
"Well, first things first, we need to complete our job." Levy pointed out.
I nodded. "I-It is wh-why we're he-here. M-Maybe we-we'll be l-lucky and w-we can see t-the bl-blooms afterwards."
"Who put in the request anyway?" Droy asked.
Levy pulled out the request flier. "Hmm. Let me see. It was the curator of the Ancient History Museum. It should be around here somewhere…"
A sudden vibration drew my attention. I glanced over my shoulder towards the other side of the street and I didn't see anyone. My brow furrowed in confusion. I was sure I had sensed footsteps from that direction, but there wasn't anyone there.
However, I did find something else of importance.
"H-Hey. T-There's the m-museum!"
I pointed to the building across the street. It was a large marble building with two stone lions perched on pedestals by the large steps. In a way, it reminded me of the Smithsonian.
Levy beamed. "Great eye Ame-chan! Let's go!"
…
The inside of the museum was just as impressive as the outside. There were innumerable artifacts ranging from armor to scrolls written in ancient characters I couldn't read. I wasn't sure where to look first because it was all so interesting that I almost forgot we were here on a mission.
We got past security fairly easily when we told them we were here for the job request. They let us pass, but I could have sworn they were glaring at us. It was strange. Levy seemed to notice too as she nudged me and flashed a look to me that said, Keep your guard up.
A brief nod conveyed I understood.
Finding the curator's office was fairly easy and the curator was actually there to greet us. He was a cheerful looking middle-aged man with unnaturally rosy cheeks and a wide smile that took up about half his face. His squinted eyes almost hid his pale blue eyes and his forest green hair was speckled with grey.
His desk had a name plack that read "Oliver Stalwert, Curator".
"Hello! You must be the mages of Fairy Tail who accepted my request! It's a pleasure to meet you! My name is Oliver Stalwert. I am the curator of this lovely museum!"
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Stalwert." Levy greeted.
"Oh, please. Call me Oliver, my dear. I do hate being called 'mister'. Makes me feel old." he laughed.
"Right. Oliver. You put out a request for us to retrieve the Armillam de Protectione, could you give us more details about the bracelet and it's location?"
The curator nodded. "Of course! Straight to business! The Armillam de Protectione roughly translates to 'Bracelet of Heavenly Protection'. It's a powerful magic object crafted by a metalsmith in this town four centuries ago."
"So it's a part of your town's history?" Jet asked.
Oliver nodded. "Yes. Unfortunately this metalsmith was shy about her work and hid it all in the mountains surrounding Seleva."
My eyes widened a little. "'S-She'?"
"Ah, yes. The metalsmith's name was Hira, a very talented metalsmith but a great adventurer as well. She was born noble, so her father didn't approve of her doing metalwork or adventuring. Hira wasn't shy about her adventures, but when it came to metalwork she became a lot more skittish. Or so the story goes."
"So what mountain is the Armillam de Protectione in?" Droy questioned.
"I will guide you to the correct mountain, so that is something you need not worry about."
Everyone nodded. It sounded like a good deal. Go into a mountain, get a bracelet, come back and give it to the curator. Simple. But nothing is simple with Fairy Tail. Throughout the conversation, I was waiting for the 'however'.
"...However..." Oliver said hesitantly.
There it is.
"The Ancient History Museum isn't the only ones looking for the Armillam. A Treasure Hunter guild by the name of Siren Cove is also looking for it."
"Treasure Hunters? Well, they shouldn't be too much of a problem. We can beat them." Jet declared.
"Ah, but I must warn you. Siren Cove has a reputation. If they want something bad enough, they will do anything in their power to get it. And that includes murder."
Levy nodded thoughtfully. "Thank you for the heads up Oliver. We'll go get your bracelet."
Oliver smiled warmly. "Thank you Fairy Tail. I cannot begin to describe how much this means to me."
"N-No p-problem, Oliver-san." I smiled.
The curator lead us to the mountain as he had promised. It was one of the many mountains that circled around Seleva in what looked like a crescent moon. The one we were lead to was the tallest and even from ground level, I could see it was riddled with caves that gradually grew less in number at the top.
"The bracelet is in one of the caves at the very top. You'll be able to tell it's the one by the sword and shield crest on the inside of the band."
"Thank you Oliver. You've been a great help." the Solid Script mage thanked.
"No no. Thank you Fairy Tail for doing something so nice for this old man."
"Well, let's get started. We've got a long way to go." Jet said.
We waved goodbye to Oliver and began to ascend the mountain, but I couldn't shake the feeling we were being followed.
…
A/N: Finally done! Phew.
Sorry this took so long. As I said at the top Author's Note, I've been a little creatively stuck lately.
