AN: Hello everyone. Here's a new chapter and I hope that you enjoy it. The song is S.I.N.G by My Chemical Romance. If I could, this would probably be the theme song for the story. If anyone has any songs that you think would fit a nation(or multiple nations) just let me know and I'll check it out.
Disclaimer: Hetalia belongs to Hidekez Himaruya. The song belongs to My Chemical Romance.
Also, thank you to everyone who's been reading, reviewing, following, etc. I appreciate it.
The next meetings were uncharacteristically quiet. No one wanted to invoke Ludwig's wrath and, while that might sound a tad overdramatic, they really didn't want to endure a long lecture that would be sure to come if anyone decided to get caught.
The other reason for the quiet was on account of the German not allowing them to play their music during the meeting. Only after the drawling conversations and fighting, when the speeches were practically over, could they show what they had wanted the others to hear, or maybe not have wanted.
They had to admit that after three or four meetings in a row it was getting to be a bit much. By the sixth everyone was running on fumes and was about ready to flip a table. Or maybe a few chairs.
It was a relief when, on the seventh meeting after Gilbert had snuck in, they heard Ludwig interrupt a speech (Feliciano's) and call out a nation.
"Alfred…"
The American looked up, smiling slightly. There was a loose ear bud hanging from one of his ears. "Yeah?" Ludwig had looked far too smug since they had stopped, despite the German nation trying to hide it. It would be his pleasure to break the streak.
"Why are you- just…" The man sighed. "After we're done."
He nodded, smiling at the rest of the nations, though slightly apologetic at Feliciano.
The Italian just nodded, grinning his normal grin, and continued as if no words had been spoken.
The nations let out a breath as Ludwig called the meeting to a close. They had gotten through with little arguments, all wanting to see what Alfred had planned.
Ludwig sat at his chair near the front of the table, nodding towards the American. "Go ahead." His tone implied he would be having a word, or perhaps a few, with him later.
Alfred smiled slightly; glad to see that the other blond was annoyed. He knew that Ludwig just wanted an organized meeting but… He really wanted them to keep going with this. It had been his fault in starting it so he really didn't have any reason to want to, but... they were starting to make something out of it.
He pulled his phone out and laid it on the table, pulling up the song he hoped would get things going again. He glanced at Matthew, his twin giving him a confused look. Probably should have let Matt know, but he had kind of wanted to do this one on his own.
Without any hesitation, he pressed play. Music filled the room, a bit slower than the others suspected.
Alfred brought his legs up in his chair and crossed them over one another, placing his hands in his lap. He was completely content with singing when the first lyrics came. The words were quiet, slowed.
"Sing it out
Boy, you've got to see what tomorrow brings"
He smiled, already getting several odd looks.
"Sing it out
Girl, you've got to be what tomorrow needs"
The nations who knew the song were trying to hold back smirks, several of them already knowing the direction that this was going. Those who hadn't listened quietly, trying to figure it out.
"For every time that they want to count you out
Use your voice every single time you open up your mouth" There was a pause and then the chorus began. His voice was louder now to match the music.
"Sing it for the boys
Sing it for the girls-" He looked at the other nations as he sang the next line, thinking it fitting. "-Every time that you lose it sing it for the world"
"Sing it from the heart
Sing it till you're nuts-" His head turned and he smirked at Ludwig as he sang, "Sing it out for the ones that'll hate your guts." Then he turned back to his original position, his voice growing louder still.
"Sing it for the deaf
Sing it for the blind
Sing about everyone that you left behind-" They all had someone they had left behind… So, it really didn't matter whether the song they sang was happy or sad, but if it had a message they wanted to get out or just for a short break, then they could go ahead. Sing it. "-Sing it for the world, sing it for the world."
The music continued. He glanced at Matthew. 'Sorry I didn't tell you.'
His twin smiled, amused. 'It's fine. You just keep continuing with your rebellion.'
When he started singing again a few moments later his voice had returned to the softer volume he had begun with.
"Sing it out, boy they're gonna sell what tomorrow means
Sing it out, girl before they kill what tomorrow brings" His face fell, becoming more somber. "You've got to make a choice
If the music drowns you out
And raise your voice
Every single time they try and shut your mouth" The chorus returned again, his smile returning with it.
"Sing it for the boys
Sing it for the girls
Every time that you lose it sing it for the world
Sing it from the heart
Sing it till you're nuts-"
He glanced at Ludwig again. "-Sing it out for the ones that'll hate your guts."
"Sing it for the deaf
Sing it for the blind
Sing about everyone that you left behind
Sing it for the world
Sing it for the world"
They all had someone they wanted to sing for as well…
There was a short instrumental and his smile widened when the guitar came in, when the drums grew louder, though it fell when the lyrics started again, if only slightly.
"Cleaned-up corporation progress
Dying in the process
Children that can talk about it,
Living on the railways
People moving sideways
Sell it till your last days"
His voice grew louder with the music. Alfred's smile came back and grew the louder the music became. A few nations were smirking though Ludwig looked like he had a headache.
"Buy yourself the motivation
Generation Nothing,
Nothing but a dead scene
Product of a white dream-"
He paused, grinning now. His voice was practically a shout.
Ludwig looked around the room nervously. They would probably get complaints when this was over…
"I am not the singer that you wanted
But a dancer-" He laughed, "-I refuse to answer, Talk about the past, sir
Wrote it for the ones who want to get away!"
There was a pause and Matthew couldn't resist. "Keep running!"
Alfred nodded appreciatively towards his brother, continuing immediately after. He was pleasantly surprised that Matt had been able to keep the agreement going.
The chorus repeated once more and his voice lowered a bit, saving a few (mainly Yao and Ludwig) of migraines. There was a slight change in lyrics as the song neared its end. The American continued, lowering his voice a little more,
"Got to see what tomorrow brings
Sing it for the world
Sing it for the world
Girl, you've got to be what tomorrow needs
Sing it for the world
Sing it for the world..."
The music started to fade out, reverting to how it had started. Alfred paused it before stuffing the phone in his pocket, glancing at the clock. "Okay, well…" He stood. "It's time to go. See ya."
He left before anyone had time to lecture him.
