Beck's ringing phone woke him up from a sound sleep. He sat up in bed stretching before leaning over to grab his phone.
Beck: (answers) Good morning, mom. It's kinda early for me.
Carolyn: Beck, you have to get to the hospital.
Beck: Did something happen to you, mom?
Carolyn: Jade called me, she said you need to get there.
Beck: Jade? Why'd she call you, mom?
Carolyn: She didn't say, she said you need to be there.
Beck: What? Mom, you know we haven't spoken in months.
Carolyn: I don't know what's going on Beck, but she sounded serious.
Beck: (sighs) Okay, I'll go. Thanks for telling me, mom.
Carolyn: You're welcome, honey.
Beck: What hospital is she at?
After Beck got off the phone with his mother, he showered and dressed himself for the day. He was too anxious to eat breakfast, wondering why Jade was in the hospital and why she called for him. When Beck arrived to the hospital, he walked up to a receptionist sitting at a desk in the lobby.
Beck: I'm here for Jade West.
Receptionist: One moment, please.
Beck stood waiting patiently for directions to see Jade. He became lost in his thoughts thinking about what Jade wanted with him.
Receptionist: Sir?
Beck snapped out of his thoughts, looking at the receptionist.
Beck: I'm sorry, where to?
Receptionist: West wing, the third floor, room 345.
Beck: Thanks.
Beck followed the directions leading him to the third floor. As he walked along the hall searching for the room number, Beck couldn't help but notice the posters on the walls; babies, and pregnant women.
Beck: Is this the correct floor?
Beck stopped at a closed, door. He stared at the room number, 345. He didn't even think to knock, Beck grabbed the doorknob opening the door. He peeked in, his eyes immediately spotted Jade, she looked up at him. Beck couldn't believe it, looking heavy in weight, Jade was sitting up in bed feeding a bottle to a baby. She looked annoyed.
Beck: Jade?
Jade: What took you so long?
Beck was speechless, he slowly walked over to Jade, staring at the baby in her arms.
Beck: Jade, I, how, why?
Jade: I can't do this alone, Beck.
Beck: I thought you got an abortion.
Jade: Clearly, I didn't.
Beck: Wh-why did you tell me you got an abortion?
Jade: I don't have to answer to you.
Beck: Yes, you do. Where have you been?
Jade sighed as she held the baby, feeding her from a bottle. Beck could tell Jade was annoyed and didn't want to hold the baby.
Beck: What's her name?
Jade looked down at the baby, she shrugged.
Jade: Baby E.
Beck: Baby E? Why would you name her that?
Jade: Because I don't have the time to name five kids, okay?
Beck: She needs a name, Jade. You could have atleast-
Beck stopped talking realizing what Jade had said.
Beck: Did you just say five kids?
Jade: (rolls her eyes) Wake up and turn around Beck.
Beck turned around to see an incubator, he haven't noticed it when he walked in because he was too focused on Jade. He walked over to it looking inside, four tiny babies slept, all looking identical to each other. Beck looked over to Jade.
Beck: How did you have so many? Which one is mine?
Jade: Okay, now you're starting to piss me off.
Beck: How did you have this many, in only eight months?
Jade: They're quintuplets, Beck! They're all yours! Dummy.
The baby in Jade's arms started to cry, Jade groaned.
Jade: This one never shuts up.
Beck felt himself getting dizzy, he couldn't breathe.
Beck: I, I gotta sit down.
Beck carefully walked over to a chair sitting down.
Beck: How did this happen? What are quintuplets?
Jade: I really wish you would stop asking questions.
Beck: Please Jade, I don't understand.
Jade: Quintuplets are five Beck, you know like twins are two?
Beck: And they're all mine?
Jade nodded, Beck sunk down in his chair closing his eyes.
Beck: This is a dream, right? Am I dreaming?
Beck opened his eyes looking around the room, he sat straight up in his chair.
Beck: What the fuck, Jade? Why didn't you call for me earlier?
Jade: Because I didn't want to be bothered with you, Beck.
Beck: This isn't fair for me to just now find out about.
Jade: Look, you helped make them, you help take care of them.
Beck: You told me you got an abortion, why would you lie Jade, why?

A year later:
Beck was at his mothers' house along with his babies, he was proud to be the father of.
Carolyn: What mother wouldn't want to be with her kids on their birthday?
Beck: I asked her if she wanted to come along for cake, she said, no.
Carolyn: Well, we can have a good time without her.
Beck: She's not gonna ruin this special day for me.
Robbie: Da-da.
Robbie struggled to walk as he waddled over to Beck reaching up, Beck reached down grabbing him.
Beck: Hi Robbie.
Beck held his son close, kissing his head.
Beck: Can you believe they're one?
Carolyn: Time fly's by.
Beck smiled as he watched the other four babies crawl and waddle around playing with toys.
Beck: Ow, Robbie. You're getting strong.
Beck chuckled as he removed the baby's hand from his hair.
Tori: Uh- oh.
Tori waddle towards Beck, she held up a shoe.
Tori: Uh-oh.
Beck took the shoe from her.
Beck: Your shoe came off? It's okay.
After celebrating the quints' birthday with his mother, Beck drove to Jade's house to drop off the babies. It wasn't his time to have them but Jade let him take them because it was their birthday.
Beck: Can we all try to walk together?
Beck took his time taking out each baby from their car seat, standing them out the van.
Beck: No, no, not crawl. Walk.
Beck stood the babies up from crawling, he grabbed their hands walking to the porch. He knocked on the door, Jade opened it.
Beck: We're back.
Jade imitated Beck's joyful tone as she spoke to him.
Jade: I can see that.
Beck walked inside with the babies, they all dropped to the floor, crawling around as they preferred.
Beck: They took a nap so they might be up for a while.
Beck held out a paper plate covered with foil for Jade to take.
Jade: What's this?
Beck: We saved you some cake.
Jade: I don't want it.
Beck: What's wrong with you today?
Jade: Nothings wrong with me.
Beck: It's our kids' first birthday, can you be happy about that?
Jade: What's there to be happy about?
Beck: The fact that our babies are alive and healthy.
Jade: This was a stressful, hectic year.
Beck: If you would give yourself a break, you wouldn't be stressed.
Jade: Whatever, you can leave now.
Beck: Take it.
Jade: I don't want the stupid cake!
Beck shook his head at Jade, he walked to the door walking out.
Beck: I'll call them tomorrow after work.
Jade: They can't talk.
Beck: They can hear my voice.
Jade slammed the door shut in Beck's face.
