The remaining 6 of them sat in silence in the corner of the room, whilst Watari arranged for the corpses to be cleaned up and collected. Matsuda's attempts at tea were poor, but it was understandable, he dropped 3 teacups and managed to scald himself with the tea. The poor guy was traumatised. L had taken it better than anybody, just sitting there with a blank expression on his face. He was definitely shaken up though, he wasn't sitting in his usual position, but sitting cross legged with an arm around Light, who was staring blankly into space. Mello had a rather angry and agitated expression spread across his face, and was ready to punch something. Matt couldn't focus on his games again all, and in the end just slipped his hand into Near's, who was sitting and twirling his hair around his finger. His Kira finger puppet had had the head torn off in a fit of rage. Nobody expected it, but Near could definitely get angry, and he was damn scary when he did.

'I can't take it anymore!' Mello shouted, and slammed his fists down on the table. 'Kira's broken though our security so easily, so what are we gonna do about it?!'

The best response he got was a feeble cough from Matsuda.

'I'll tell you what we're gonna do about it! Matt, you're going to build a firewall so strong that even you can't break through it! We need to keep all of our data as secure as possible. Near, you're gonna size up the situation with your toy things and give us some stats and options! L and Light, you're gonna think of something to tell the police, something to fool Kira. We're gonna put together a trap to lure that bastard out of his hiding place and into our reach! As for Matsuda, you're going to the shop to buy some decent chocolate and something for us to eat tonight;Watari's got more important things to deal with...' He shot an awkward glance at the corpses.

'What are you gonna do Mels?' Matt asked.

'I've got some old friends that can help us with some stuff, I'll give them a ring.'

L smiled, he was glad someone was on their game. He wasn't used to being told what to do, but it was kinda reassuring, knowing that he wasn't responsible for everyone's mistakes.

'Ok Mello, that's me told.' He exclaimed as well as he could in his monotonous voice, and stood up, knocking Light onto the floor. 'Whoops, sorry...'An angry Light looked up at him 6 feet below.

Mello made sure everyone was doing their assigned jobs, and then dialled a number on his phone.

'Hello? Is that Ross? No, I'm not the police, it's Mello. Remember me? Listen I need ya to do me a favour...'The blonde walked out of the room, talking fast in English to a man named Rod Ross.

Matsuda soon returned with the shopping, although he got a smack over the head from Mello for buying the wrong kind of chocolate.

L and Light sat down together, to try and get a potential lead or to think of a plan. 'Why don't you try sitting like me? It might raise your intelligence by 40%'

Light smiled, he was doubtful, but tried anyway. 'We need some way of luring Kira out of his hiding place, or to make him vulnerable. But we can't repeat what you've already done, we need to do something... Unexpected...'

'No shit Sherlock...' Mello walked past, an evil smile on his face. ' Think harder.'

Light gave Mello the evil eye. 'You're not helping!' He moaned.

'You're not thinking.' He countered.

'We tell him we surrender...' L said, his eyes lighting up, 'Or that L is no longer interested in this case. That way, he'll let his guard down and we can get him.'

Mello smiled. 'Now you're talkin!' He pushed his luck a little by ruffling the detectives hair, and ended up being thrown halfway across the room.

'Sorry about that, I guess I don't know my own strength.' The detective said, with an evil smile.

The blonde picked himself up from the far corner, wincing as he tried standing up. Damn that L...

At least they now had a plan. He walked over to Near, who had the whole situation weighed out through the medium of... Dice. He pointed to a large tower. 'This one represents Kira.' He then gestured to an equally large tower. 'This one represents Us. Now if we were to fool Kira that we are no longer there,' he replaced the L tower with clear cubes. 'Then Kira will lower his defences by almost 70%.' He knocked 7 out of 10 dice away from the Kira tower. 'Then, of course we're still there, and we creep up on Kira, detaining and arresting him.' The albino seemed quite proud of himself, and gave Mello a look of pride. 'Well done. I think L and Light need some help wording their script for their public announcement, could you go help them?'

Last but not least, Mello made his way to Matt, who was furiously typing. 'How's it going strawberry?'

Matt winced, he hated that name... 'I've built the firewall, I'm now securing the data and preparing the trackers like you asked me to.'

'Good, get over here when you're done.'

The five of them sat in a circle as they waiting to be tone beeped.

'Hello. This is L. As you know, I've been chasing Kira for over a year now, and it has now occurred to me that this case has became boring. As a result, I will no longer be investigating, and leave it up to the Japanese Police. Goodbye.' L said, keeping his voice calm as he read from their devised script.

This message had been broadcast all over the world on every channel. There was no way Kira wouldn't have heard about or seen it. Hopefully, their plan was now in action. They also had the Internet and every channel closed down for the rest of the day, from 'technical difficulties. They'd left the Internet in important places such as the HQ and places that actually required it. Anyone else, would have to hack through the firewall that Matt had set up.

'Guys!' the redhead shouted, laptop on lap. 'We've got 15 people trying to back through the firewall. Wait, now only 12... 8... 3...'

'There's been a death!' Near announced, and proceeding to give the details of the victim. 'They're in Toyko, Japan.'

'Put Tokyo on immediate lock down. Kira isn't escaping. Not this time.' L's voice grew more serious with every word. Light was scared for a second, until the detective's hand found his. 'The sooner we catch him, the sooner we can go back' He said with a smile. It was already November, and he wanted to spend Christmas at home.

'One of the hackers are in Tokyo!' Matt announced.

'Track him.'

'Already ahead of ya!'

Video and sound feeds erupted onto the many computer screens around the room.

'What's this? I still can't get through...' A man's voice was picked up by the receiver. 'This sucks... Kira can't strike if he doesn't have any pictures... I've already killed that tramp from the street, now there's no one left... And now L's given up, it's no fun anymore. Killing his subordinates mustn't have worked... Damn Death Note, doesn't do anything right!'

This guy was beginning to sound a lot like a rather dumb teenager. His appearance, whilst a little fuzzy from the camera on his laptop, looked exactly like a normal guy. Apart from his blood red eyes. That was a giveaway. All this stuff about Death Notes was new though... Also, why would he have blood red eyes? And why would he only need a picture to kill someone? He was capable of killing people all over the world.

'Matt, where is his location?'

'I've got him. I've found Kira...'
