Dr Thomas Light was working in his lab, trying to create the ultimate team of brand-new Robot Masters to help win the fight against his arch-enemy and once very close friend, Dr Albert Wily. Since Wily had stolen and reprogrammed his first line of robot masters, Gutsman, Cutman, Iceman, Fireman, Elecman and Bombman, Dr Light had managed to repair Gutsman, Cutman, Iceman and Bombman, however Wily did the same with Fireman and Elecman and managed to create many more robot masters like Quickman and Woodman. Each time, Megaman, his brave lab assistant, had beaten each of them. With them lived Roll, Megaman's sister and Dr Light's house cleaner, Rush, Megaman's trusty robot dog companion and Protoman, also called blues, the first robot created by Light and Wily and older brother figure to Rock and Roll.
"Maybe a water Robot Master to counter Fire-Man." He said to himself. "What about one that's immune to electricity to fight Elec-man. hmmm"
Suddenly, he heard three quick knocks on the lab's door. "Dr Light, can I come in?" a young male voice said from the other side of the door.
"Yes, Rock. Come in, my boy!" Dr Light greeted his 'son' happily.
The door opened slowly to reveal Megaman (also called Rock) in all his glory. The sun shone through the window and hit his body, making a faint blue glow.
"What did you want to see me about, Rock?" Dr Light asked as Rock closed the door behind him.
"Well, a letter came for me today and I thought you should see it." Megaman explained, handing Light the letter.
The doctor read the letter carefully and scratched his chin. "This is very interesting, Rock." The doctor said. "Do you want to go?"
"Of course!" Megaman exclaimed. "Only the best get invited so it's an honor!"
Dr Light didn't know what to do. If Megaman left, he would have no defence against Wily's army, apart from Blues (Also called Protoman)
"If that is what you want then I am ok with it." The Doctor said. "However, I hardly think that you could stand up for yourself with just the Mega-Buster."
Dr Light walked out of the door. He faced Megaman and said "Follow me."
Dr Light led Megaman down a long hallway, before entering a room.
The room had several tables with large glass tubes connected to the ceiling and table.
On each tube was a gold plaque each one had something written on it.
Rock walked up to the one closest to him and read: METAL BLADE
"Now, Rock." Dr Light said. "You may take these with you but you can only take 12 with you."
Rock thought about which to pick.
He thought about the most powerful weapons as well as which weapons he had the most skill with in battle.
He knew four weapons that he would take straight away.
ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: METAL BLADE.
ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: LEAF SHIELD.
ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: SUPER ARM.
ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: HARD KNUCKLE.
Rock thought carefully about which weapons to pick and walked over to three more weapons
ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: SLASH CLAWS.
ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: FLAME SWORD.
ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: CRASH BOMBER. ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: HYPER BOMB.
Rock picked the rest of his weapons.
ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: FLAME BLAST. ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: AIR SHOOTER. ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: SPARK SHOCK. ROBOT MASTER WEAPON INSTALLED: TOP SPIN.
"So you've decided?" Dr Light asked curiously.
"Yes, Doctor Light." Rock replied. "These are the ones I want."
"Before you go," Dr Light said. "You should say goodbye to your siblings." Megaman nodded and followed his father into the living room where Roll, Cutman, Bombman and Iceman were sat, watching tv with rush sitting on Bombman's lap as the explosive robot gently stroked his head and Beat the robot bird perched on Roll's shoulder and Tango the robot cat purred quietly on the floor next to Iceman. Blues and Bombman sat on the couch and Roll sat in her own chair while Iceman sat on the floor in front of the couch.
"Hello, my children." The jolly doctor greeted his creations. "Hi, Doctor Light." The four replied in unison. "Iceman, can you and Roll please call the others to the front garden?" Dr Light asked. "Yes, Dr Light." The two nodded and left the room. Dr Light and Megaman led Protoman and Bombman out of the room and outside, Beat perched on top of Rush's back and they followed after them. "What's happened, doctor?" Blues asked. The doctor chuckled. "You'll find out, soon enough."
Soon, everyone was outside, standing in front of the subspace door. "What are we here for?" Cutman, the youngest of the robot masters, asked curiously. "I'm going away for quite some time." Rock said, loud enough for them all to hear. "To compete in the Super Smash Brothers Tournament." The robots clapped, Roll hugged his brother with pride and Rush yapped excitedly. "Rock...Rock, that's amazing." Roll said. "Do you realise what and honour this is?" Blues asked. "Of course I do." Rock replied, blushing a little with embarrassment. "Wow." Gutsman exclaimed with a smile. "Fighting alongside guys like Donkey Kong and Ganondorf. I'd love to test my strength against those guys." Megaman chuckled, he and Guts liked to tease each other. "Haha. Jealous, much, Guts?" "Now, now, Rock." Light laughed. "Don't gloat.". However his mood suddenly changed and he began crying tears of joy. "I'm so proud of you son." He said, trying to hold back his tears. "You'd best get going, now." Rock smiled. "I will." he said.
Megaman hugged each of his brothers, one by one. Guts, Cut, Ice, Bomb, Blues. He said goodbye to Rush, Beat, Tango and even Eddie. He turned to Roll. "Take care, Rock." Roll whispered, hugging her brother. "Write to us every week." "I will." Rock whispered back. "I love you, sis." "I love you too." Roll pulled away and let her brother talk to Dr Light. "Take care, my son." Thomas said, wrapping his large arms around his son. "Do us proud." "I will, Doctor Light." Megaman replied. Light pulled away from the hugged and walked towards the subspace door. "Goodbye, everyone!" Rock waved to his sister, brothers, father and pets before opening the door. "Wait, Rock!" Dr Light shouted just before Rock left. "Take Rush with you." Rush ran to stand next to Rock who let him lick his hand. Rock took one last look at his family before stepping through the door.
