HELLO!
Look, I'm not dead, I just want to say that I am terribly sorry for not writing in about a year or more, you see I have been in care of an institute to help me, recently I tried to kill myself, and almost succeeded three times, but after a whole lot of therapy and such, I am glad to say, that I am finally back home, and can be left alone, so here I am again, I know this isn't a good excuse for not ever replying or sending a message out saying that this story wasn't abandoned, but I guess I just didn't have the motivation to do so.
BUT! No more depressing subjects, I am here to write you the next chapter, AND HERE IT IS!

Chapter 16
Merlin watched as Arthur fell, Mordred standing above him with a look of pure anger within his icy blue eyes. Arthur's fall was slow, as if time had slowed down to a snails pace. His body fell backwards, his blood pouring out and when his body hit the ground. Merlin could feel it. His stomach dropped and his throat clogged up, Merlin felt cold so cold. And Arthur, sweet, lovely, stubborn, stupid Arthur didn't move. Merlin could hear screams, was that him? Although clogged, he could still feel the air rushing out of his windpipes.
And then he started running. At first he didn't know he was, Arthur just seemed to be getting closer. When Merlin finally reached Arthur he couldn't stand anymore. The young teen quickly fell and gathered up Arthur, pulling the man closer to him, hugging him to his chest as Arthur's blood continued to poor out. Arthur's face began to blur, Merlin could feel his thick tears pouring out.
"Arthur...Arth..." Merlin attempted to call out his name, but his throat wouldn't let him.
"Merlin..." Arthur's eyelids opened up to reveal his sky blue eyes, he opened his mouth to speak some more but soon coughs racked his body, causing blood to splutter out of his mouth, and to run down his chin.
"shhh...don't talk, save y-your energy..." Merlin stroked Arthur's hair out of his face, some of his golden hair was stained with his life essence, the red coloring the sun-shined kissed hair. A shadow soon fell over Merlin, blocking the sunlight from Arthur's paling face. Merlin slowly looked up, gazing at the person above him.
It was Mordred.
Merlin continued to gaze up at those hatred filled eyes. Mordred, the boy who had helped him out. Mordred the one he betrayed.
"You, Emyrs! You betrayed me, you betrayed us!" Mordred shouted, his sword starting to glow, lighting up. Merlin watched the sword, the glowing sword of Mordred's hatred, stained, stained and splattered with Arthur's blood, Arthur's life.
How DARE he!
HOW DARE HE! KILL HIM! PUNISH HIM! MAKE HIM PAY!
"How dare he! Kill him! Punish him! Make him pay!" Voices, two voices. An old man, and a young girl. Shouting, so much shouting! It hurt, it hurt, It Hurt, IT HURT, IT HURT, ITHURT!
"HOW DARE HE! KILL HIM! PUNISH HIM! MAKE HIM PAY!" Mordred took a step back in shock. Voices were leaving Merlin's mouth, voices that did not belong to him. Merlin's eyes flickering into their golden hue. Merlin could feel so much pain inside him. The hatred of losing his innocence, the hatred for Mordred and Nimueh, the pain of the torture, the pain of losing his innocence, the pain of losing everyone he cared about.
THAT'S RIGHT! THAT'S RIGHT! PAIN! HATRED! PAIN! HATRED! PAIN! HATRED! PAINHATREDPAINHATREDPAINHATREDPAINHATREDPAINHATREDPAINHATREDKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILL!
Merlin raised his arms up, Arthur's head still laying on his lap, his eyes now closed, his breath shallow.
MERLIN, MERLIN, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO...DO IT...DO IT...
The voices were getting stronger, stronger and louder. They were screams now, commanding, demanding, forcing, and leading, pushing Merlin towards a door, a door with a giant lock. A lock that looked so familiar. One he had seen since the beginning of his existence and yet never had before. So familiar, and yet completely brand new.
OPEN. UNLOCK.
The Old Man began to shout out Unlock, as the little girl began to cry out Open. They were so loud that Merlin couldn't actually think, his thoughts scattered, broken.
There was something cold and heavy in his hands. Merlin gazed down to see a key.

Nimueh ran through the battlefield, watching as her comrades fell from Arthur's men. That's when she saw it, the shadows. The clouds began to gather, blocking the sun, swirling reaching down towards her lovely child. Emyrs, the child of power, her power. The shadows behind him were reaching up like black inky tentacles. Reaching towards the heavens, as if screaming for redemption, for salvation. Emyrs had tears streaming down his face, Nimueh could barely see a body sprawled upon his lap. Arthur.
Arthur! Stop this! Let me out!
Morgana's voice echoed inside Nimueh's head. Banging against her mind.
"Shut up," Nimueh hissed at the annoying woman inside her head.
The shadows started to form something, becoming tangible. Wrapping around each other, bending, twisting, braiding themselves behind Merlin, forming giant guardians to protect Emyrs. Nimueh could feel the small gasp that escaped her lips.
This was it, the power she had been searching for, for ages. The power of the Dragonlords.

Merlin let us out. Let us help you. Let us protectyou.
Merlin stepped forward holding the key tightly within his hands. He could feel his warm tears falling, splattering on the floor. Slowly Merlin lifted the key into the lock. His hands shaking.
The lock fell with a sickening thud, one that echoed endlessly. The door then opened, creaking as it went, slowly opening. Shadows launched out reaching around Merlin pulling on him, but not painfully. It was almost comforting.
The shadows wrapped around each other until they formed people. Two people to be precise. A little girl, with long white hair, and bright blue eyes. Her skin was so pale, and she wore a simple white dress. She hugged Merlin tightly, tears were streaming down her small face as well.
Don't cry Merlin, we're here!
Merlin could no longer stand, he fell down to his knees feeling the hug of the small child was warm. Warmth Merlin had missed, had craved from the minute his mother had been taken from him.
We will take care of everything now.
The elderly voice appeared behind Merlin. He quickly turned to see an elderly man, a wise looking man with golden eyes and hair, he had on a simple golden old fashioned cloak, covering his whole body, appearing more like a poncho than a cloak.
He stepped forward and patted Merlin's head then reached crouched down at eye level.
I'm Athusia! I represent your pain.
The little girl told Merlin with a bright smile and hugged Merlin tighter.
And I am Kilgharrah, and I symbolize your hatred.
The elderly man smiled still keeping his soft wrinkled hand on Merlin's head.
Don't worry about anything anymore Merlin, we will take care of everything!
The two people, Athusia and Kilgharrah spoke at the same time, slowly letting go of Merlin, and then walking back, Merlin could only watch as they went.

Nimueh couldn't help but laugh in joy. The true power of the Dragonlords. The power of pushing your negative emotions out as destructive monsters, such as Dragons.
The black shadows becoming a dragon. A giant dragon, a great one, the black scales falling away to reveal golden. A giant roar ripping through his throat, fire exploding from his nostrils. So this was Merlin's dragon? A great dragon, for a great Warlock.
Although the black shadows weren't done, which was impossible, Dragonlords were foretold to only be able to control one dragon at a time.
But the shadows did not dissipate, the shadows formed another dragon, the shadows becoming scales, then falling away to white, another dragon, another great dragon, one not as great as the first but still great.
So the dragons were finally out, it was time for true power, it was time to bring out the big guns, for real magic, it was time for Mordred's older sister, Freya...
