Chapter 15: Don't hide!

Hero,

I was stunned to say the least. Volturi Manor was huge! It was completely black and lined with red, it stood out from all the other houses. I loved Italy so far, the culture, the people, the laughter...

Maybe it won't be so bad after all.

Esme stepped forward and began to whisper to the door.

"Dammi Ingresso al castello sacro"

"Er... You having fun there Ez?" I asked, honestly concerned for her sanity.

She glared at me over her shoulder. "I'm not crazy."

"You're speaking to a door Ez." A new voice said from behind me.

Esme and I jumped and turned around.

There stood an unnaturally tall and built man, if he weren't a vampire I would have told him to lay off the steroids. He had short cropped dark hair and blood red eyes that gleamed with mischief. He wore a great grin that would look scary if he didn't look so ridiculous.

"Felix!" Esme exclaimed, reaching up on her tippy toes to hug him.

"Hey Momma Ez- may." He greeted, wrapping his huge arms around her.

I cleared my throat.

Felix glanced at me and grinned. "So, you're the werewolf girl everyone won't stop talking about."

I dropped my left hip and cocked my head to one said.

He rolled his eyes. "Ooohhh Sassy!"

I pouted. Esme laughed.

"Come on let's go inside, everyone has been waiting." He said, leading us around the building and into the back door.

The halls we walked down were completely dark and I had to keep my hand in Esme's to see where I was going. At least that's what I told myself, it wasn't because I was going to miss her or anything.

Yeah right, whatever you want to believe old girl. I thought dryly.

I almost missed the huge iron double doors until Felix pushed them open.

We walked into a beautiful hall. Polished floors, expensive rugs and tapestries, beautiful paintings, flickering candles in golden candelabras, I loved it!

I blinked and suddenly I was surrounded with vampires.

They all seemed to know Esme and greeted her like an old friend.

"So, will you introduce us to the delightful looking young lady?" A tall man with long black hair asked Esme.

Esme grinned. "Aro Volturi meet Hero Swan."

Aro peered down at me and offered me a hand. "May I?"

Esme had already told me about their powers.

I nodded and gave him my hand.

He grasped it and closed his eyes.

It seemed like hours before he opened them again.

"You're interesting child." He murmured.

"Creepy much." I muttered snatching my hand away from his grasp.

Quiet chuckles filled the room.

A short lady with long brown hair stepped forward. "I'm Theodora, I'm kind of the mum of the family." She smiled.

"I'm Hero, I'm kind of the awesome one of my family."

The woman smiled and stepped back.

"You don't smell very nice." A voice sneered.

I turned to see a small blonde with coal black eyes glaring at me.

"You don't exactly smell like rainbows and ***8 either bloodsucker." I snapped.

"Hero Elizabeth Swan Cullen!" Esme exclaimed, horrified.

"It's ok Ez, girl's got spunk." Felix laughed.

I just huffed and crossed my arms.

"Well before Esme leaves, we'll just run some things over you." Theodora said.

I shrugged. "Lay it on me."

"Well everyone here is a family and we treat each other as that. The family consists of 11 people. Aro, Me, Marcus, Caius, Jane, Heidi, Alec, Dmitri, Felix, Chelsea and AJ."

Aro took over. "You will go to school 3 times a week and stay here for the rest, once you are really pregnant the school days will be reduced depending on how tired you get. Chelsea and AJ are your age so you will have companions, you will meet them when they get back from school along with Marcus, Caius, Heidi, Alec and Dmitri. Your family can come to visit anytime and we hope you will be comfortable here."

"Not likely." I muttered.

Theodora smirked. "We hope we can change that."

"Well I err... have to now Hero." Esme murmured.

Fear ignited inside me. "Not yet."

"I have to baby girl."

I closed my arms and leaned into her embrace.

"You'll always be my Hero." She murmured. That was the last thing I heard before darkness wrapped itself around me.

I welcomed it.
