Um...well, for the first time, there's not much to say except to enjoy!
The next morning, Ryo found herself in bed, the Millennium Ring lying in the open on her sweater. Her IV was gone, so she stretched cautiously, then stuffed the pendant under her shirt. She felt much better after a night's rest, so she got up and headed for the balconies overlooking the platform.
/Did you have fun last night?\
/Of course.\\
/Do I want to know?\
/No.\\
/Sure, Bakura. Hopefully after today we'll have Kaiba-san back.\
/How do you know he's gone?\\
/How else would Pegasus have won? He did something to Kaiba-san and is keeping him prisoner somewhere. I could get that much from the blank in my memory.\
/I thought you would be traumatized by that, so I blocked you out. I also did so during the tail end of Kaiba's battle with Yugi.\\
/Did he do something that would've scared me?\
/Let's just say he'd risk anything to save Mokuba.\\
/Oh, I think I'll stop that line of questioning now.\
She reached the balcony and found Mokuba lying against the railing. She knelt down to check on him, only for Bakura to take over again.
/Bakura! What—\
/This is an opportune time to steal the Millennium Eye. I'll let you back out when I'm finished.\\
Bakura stole the Millennium Eye and replaced it with the fake he'd borrowed from Yugi. He grinned as he joined the others as Mokuba and Kaiba were reunited. He got in his seat on the helicopter and surrendered control to Ryo.
She leaned against the window and secretly glanced at Kaiba and his little brother. They certainly were blood brothers, so she wondered what her baby would look like once it was born. "I hope my baby's beautiful, whoever it looks like," she murmured in English.
Everyone in the backseat turned to her, puzzled.
"What'd you say?" Jonouchi asked.
"Nothing," she replied in Japanese.
Mokuba glanced back, recognizing the cadence of Ryo's voice, but shook his head. For all he knew, all foreigners sounded like that.
Kaiba ignored it, concentrating on piloting the chopper.
Yeah...that was Duelist Kingdom! A few short chapters! *sweat drop* It's just that Ryo isn't in much of the action, plus she overslept through the final duels!
Not much changed from the canon of that arc, but that will change very soon, leading up to Battle City! Look forward to it!
