'With the last street duelist defeated, the first round of the World Tournament is over! The next location is Beijing, China! Tune in to your televisions, because in one week, it will be televised for the whole world to see!' Kaiba announced, before turning off his headset. He then turned to the other seven finalists. 'Our record stands at zero losses, but once we go overseas, it might be changed. I hope we end this tournament with minimal losses, but if you lose even a single time, people will go after you, thinking you're an easy win. If you lose, I hope you get somewhere that you can update your deck, so you aren't beaten again.
'Right now we're going to take a first-class flight to the next duel site so we can get a layout of the city before the other duelists so we don't look like complete tourists. Our duel disks will be off until then, so we don't attract any unwanted attention. Wear disguises, I don't want anyone getting injured, kidnapped or mobbed before, during or after this tournament. Now get to your seats, we're lifting off in five minutes.'
Atem placed a hand on Ryo's shoulder and she turned to see he was giving her a concerned look. She raised an eyebrow and he mouthed, since people didn't react to his words, 'Is this tournament really a good idea with your hidden gender? I'm sure we're going to England during one of these times, although when will be revealed at a later time. Even if you haven't told me, I can tell that's why you came to Japan: you're hiding from something.'
/Should I get him away from you? You know I want to.\\
The former pharaoh crossed his arms. 'Bakura, stay out of this.'
Bakura scoffed and sneered, /I want to sock him in the eye for poking his nose in your business. Can I at least do that?\\
/Yugi-kun would get mad at you for doing that. Atem-san's just concerned over my safety. He doesn't know the truth behind the matter, no one does except me, you and Seto.\
/I loathe that boy knows it, but you have a right to tell him as his wife. This is why he beefed up security, just in case they find you before you even get to England. Don't tell the pharaoh, he's already guessed enough and doesn't need to get involved when he has Yugi and the rest of his friends to look after in foreign countries. We at least know your home country well enough, especially London.\\
/Of course. I wouldn't let him get hurt, even if he's a wielder of strong Shadow Magic, like you.\
Her eyes cleared as Atem asked, 'Did he forbid you to tell me? I sense that you two were in disagreement over something for a moment.'
She nodded and smiled. She walked over to the seats where Bakura, Kaiba, Mokuba and the twins were already buckled in. She sat down between Kaiba and Mokuba, before she lay back, tired from the day's activities.
/He's not going to give up that easily. I'm sure next time he'll come with a pencil and paper so you can have a proper conversation, since he can't read lips.\\
She cracked open an eye and muttered, /Can we talk about this later? I'm tired.\
/I'll make sure no one wakes you until the flight is over. I'd hate to have to murder them. You hardly get any as is.\\
/Why Bakura, I'm almost thinking you care about my health.\
/Shut up and sleep, will you?\\
/Okay.\
A sudden vibration made Ryo jolt awake halfway through the flight. She looked around in confusion before Bakura supplied, /Your cell phone is ringing, Ryo. By the ringtone, it's your sister.\\
/Kisara? Why? She's not supposed to contact me!\
/You're also supposed to stay out of the public eye, Ryo. Do you want me to answer it?\\
/Be my guest.\
Through her dark half's ears, she heard him answer in English, "Hello?"
"Don't 'hello' me, Ryo Bakura!" Kisara shouted. "You're supposed to be underground! What are you doing, appearing on international TV?! If you die, I'll bring you back only to kill you again!"
"I assure you, Ryo is quite safe with me."
"Wha—who are you and why do you have my brother's cellular phone?! Put him on right now!"
"I happen to be his closest companion, and I have disturbing news for you, he's gone deaf, so giving him the phone won't do any good."
"You're a liar! He was supposed to have a good five years left! The doctor promised!"
"Your doctors are fools. He went deaf a week after winter break, exactly as the doctor in Japan diagnosed."
/Bakura, what did I tell you about being nice?\
/Being nice won't work here. Your sister is in denial.\\
"Give the phone to Ryo, RIGHT NOW!"
"If you insist."
With that Bakura broke off his mental connection with Ryo and handed her the phone. She felt the vibrations of her sister's voice against her ear, but (of course) she heard nothing. This went on for several minutes before Bakura informed her, /She just started crying. Should I "attempt" to comfort her in her grief?\\

Kaiba snatched the phone from her and began to talk in a low voice. 'Miss Bakura, this is no prank. Ryo really is deaf.'
Kisara must've demanded who he was, because he answered, 'I am Seto Kaiba, her husband and father of her two children.'
The elder sister of Ryo began screaming, by his reaction, and he spoke over her. 'Believe me, I have security and power to keep your sister safe. She fully consented to getting married to me, even if we're still only seventeen and in high school. If you still protest, wait until we meet face-to-face. Thank you for your concern, may we meet on better terms. Good day, Miss Bakura.'
He hung up and gave the phone to Ryo. 'Take your phone's battery out. We don't need any further calls until things are resolved, Ryo.'
She nodded as she did as asked. It didn't matter if her sister thought she was dead, she didn't need Kisara getting tracked by them and captured.
The first time we've heard from Kisara in a while! You guys have any guesses on who the antagonists might be, and why they're after Ryo in the first place? I'm not going to spoil it, I just want to see what you're guessing at this point!
