Chapter Twelve
"Alright kid, what's your name?" Robbie was talking to the husband as the wife made some mushroom stew.
"Robbie. What's yours?"
"Christian. How did you survive this long, under these conditions? You're not a bandit, you seem to be as old as I am, you weren't sitting in a house with a sword as far as I can tell, and you look to be hilariously under prepared."
"I almost died the first day that the zombies came...there was a small bandit group. Luckily, I escaped and was taken in by a living rainbow, who took me into his camp. Then Quicksilver attacked us, I ran away, the camp was obliterated, I found out that the rainbow was alive and also evil...it's been an interesting couple of months."
The wife came over carrying steaming hot bowls of stew. They smelled absolutely incredible. She sat at the table with them. "Hello Robbie. I'm Lyn" she said coldly, making it plain that she still didn't trust him. After they finished their stew (Robbie ate four whole bowls) they heard a banging on the door. "Hey! Open up in there! The zombies have almost got me!" Lyn and Christian exchanged a quick look, then they grabbed their swords and opened the door. They expected to see one man, but they were greeted by an army. Quickly, they shut the door, but it was too late.
The men stormed in. They were about to kill Lyn and Christian when Rai stepped in, decked out in the armor of a Quicksilver general. "Don't kill them yet. I want the one without the sword to suffer for what he did to me, and the two with swords for harboring him. There will be a zombie execution for these three!" His words were met with overwhelming applause.
