Somebody To Die For

Chapter 23

He kissed her hair gently. "Hey, baby," she said softly as she turned around and kissed his cheek. "You alright?"

"I'm feeling much better, now that I'm back with all of you." She said softly as they headed into the living room.

"So how many are in your group, Liam?" Rick asked Liam calmly.

"Well, there was only the six of us," he said quietly, as everyone watched him. "But then Chris' brother Nate and his group joined up, and there was around thirty of us altogether."

"So where's yer base?" Merle asked him.

"It's now in Woodbury, they have a whole group there." He explained.

"Fuckin' Woodbury again," Merle mumbled as he pulled Beth into him. "Of course it is. What do y'all want?"

"The woman who joined us... Karen... she wanted Bailey dead," he explained. "So Nate and Chris thought they could use her as they pleased, make her have their children, and then Karen could kill her."

"They sure as hell aren't using me as their breeding horse!" Bailey snapped at him as she held Dean tightly in her arms while Daryl pulled her, Aoife and Dean in.

"There's another woman as well, she's the leader of the group along with her husband, Nate." Liam added.

"Who is she?" Anna asked worried as she held Judith and Carl tightly.

"Um... her name is... Lori?" he said with a thoughtful look.

Rick's expression went blank. "You know, if I wasn't so depressed right now, I'd probably actually find this funny."

"I think we all would, Rick." Anna said softly as she rubbed his arm soothingly as they all ate their dinner as they talked.

Judith was playing with Dean and Aoife happily, her light hazel eyes sparkling as she crawled to where Rick, Carl and Anna were.

"Hey, sweetheart," Anna said gently as she picked up Judith and rocked her in her arms. "Who's a good girl?"

"So um... can I stay here for the night?" Liam asked quietly, as he looked at around at everyone, especially Bailey.

"You can, you tried to help me." Bailey said as she led him upstairs to a room and showed him in as he looked around.

"You tried to stop them didn't you?" She asked quietly.

Liam nodded. "I tired... but they weren't going to listen to me. I was no one in their group," he said quietly.

She gave him a faint smile. "Thank you. Goodnight," she said as she left, and went to check Aoife and Dean.

She found Aoife playing with Dean and Ben along with Dylan and Rose who smiled at her as she sat down beside them and hugged them all.

"Bailey, you can share Ben with me." Dylan said shyly.

"Thank you," Bailey said with a smile, as Ben cuddled up beside the two of them. "That's kind of you."

"You are our big sister," Rose said softly.

"You're my baby brother and sister then." She said softly and stroked their hair softly as she watched Daryl come over and sit down next to her.

"How's your dad?" She asked softly.

"He's alright thanks," Daryl said softly, as he kissed her cheek gently. "How are ya? Ya alright with Liam being here? If not, just tell us, and he's gone."

"No it's alright; he tried to look out for me and would sometimes give me food and water." She said softly as she snuggled into him and felt his hardness against her.

"I love you." She said kissing him.

"I love ya too," Daryl said as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back.

"I missed you," she said softly, chewing nervously on her bottom lip.

"What do ya mean?" Daryl asked confused. "I've been right here."

She ran her hands down and stroked him gently through his jeans, making sure no one else could see. "No, I mean, I've missed you," she whispered in his ear.

"I've missed ya too." He said getting her meaning; he had missed feeling her body against his, the feel of her skin against his.

"Alright everyone lets turn in early." Rick said quietly as they all headed upstairs to bed and they got Dean and Aoife settled.

Daryl watched her with a small smile on his face, as she tucked them in, with Rose and Dylan sharing a room with them too. He hoped she was ready for this, and wasn't just doing it to please him. He suddenly got an idea and kissed her gently. "I gotta run and do something real quick; I'll be back in about half an hour or so, alright? Wait for me," he said softly. Bailey nodded confused and watched him leave.

Daryl ran downstairs and went into the cupboards, pulling out blankets, and candles, along with his lighter, before heading down to the lake-house.

He reached it quickly and placed all of the things out; he lit the candles and spread out the blankets, pillows and cushions all over the bed and even put rose petals on the bed wanting it to be special for Bailey.

He hurried back to the house and found Bailey waiting for him as he took her by the hand and led her to the lake house where the moon shone over them.

Bailey was confused until she'd seen the bedroom, and let out a gasp as she looked around. She felt her eyes water, but it was out of happiness this time. "You did this for me?" she asked as she held his hand tightly.

Daryl nodded. "I thought this could be our place," he said softly. "We don't tell the others about it, it's just for us."

She kissed him passionately and lovingly on the lips as she was overcome with emotion, "I love you so much." She said lovingly.

"I love ya too." He said holding her close.

"You sure ya wanna do this?" he asked quietly, as he kissed lightly at her neck. He knew once he had started, there was no way he would be able to stop.

"I'm sure, Daryl, I'm sure," she assured him. She slowly unbuttoned his shirt while he worked her t-shirt up over her head, and before they could do anything else, Daryl pushed himself against him, just wanting to feel her skin against his again for a moment. He wrapped his arms around her back and held onto her.

She unbuttoned his jeans and he stepped out of them, before he took hers off, and picked her up to set down on the bed, kissing over her skin.

Daryl kissed down gently, and came to her breasts when she froze. She looked at him, her eyes fearful as he began to remove her bra. She swallowed her fear. This wasn't Chris. This wasn't Nate; this was Daryl, the man she loved. He licked his tongue over the top of her nipples gently, and she closed her eyes trying to relax. It felt good when it was Daryl, she felt loved. He ran his rough hands up and down her sides, showing her he was there.

His fingers reached down to pull off her panties, and he placed quick kisses on her stomach as he moved down, a heat in her stomach building up. Her eyes were already closed in anticipation when he hitched up one leg to rest on his shoulder and he moved his head between her legs. She swallowed nervously and took a deep breath, before he began to lower his mouth, licking and sucking gently. She gasped aloud when his tongue reached her clit and she had to bite her lip to keep from screaming when he pressed down with his lips. And then she remembered, they were alone. It didn't matter. She let out a loud moan, as she slumped back against the pillow.

She struggled to open her eyes as she wound her fingers in his hair, her hips bucking against him as he held her down with his hands.

Bailey let out a gasp as she began to cum, shuddering and shaking wildly as wave after wave of pleasure crashed into her. She sagged back against the bed, as she ran her hands through Daryl's soft hair. "I love you so much," she said breathlessly. She reached her hands into his boxers, and felt he was fully hard as she whipped them off, and shifted around so he was positioned properly. Daryl leaned down to kiss at her neck again, his hands gripping onto her waist tightly.

He looked into her eyes for a second, before slowly sliding into her, letting out a long groan. It had been at least over a month since they had done this, with everything that had happened. He kept his eyes locked on hers, watching her face for discomfort, or unease, as he added inch by inch. When he was finally buried deep inside her, he paused to kiss her softly on the lips. He watched her closely. She gently threw her head back, the pulse fluttering at her slender neck. He put his mouth there, sucking at the spot, as a shudder ran through him and made him begin to move his hips.

He felt so damn good, and for a brief moment she wondered how she could have ever pushed him away, or thought he could have been like Chris or Nate. "Don't stop," she begged, her voice coming out hoarse as he continued to thrust into her, his hands holding onto her tightly, scared that if he let go, he might lose her again.

"I'm not gonna," Daryl whispered as he reached down with his free hand to gently rub her clit, causing her to whimper in pleasure underneath him. A gasp escaped her lips, as she felt that familiar feeling build up, before her body seemed to explode again, as Daryl sent her over the edge.

She came more, and more, the overwhelming pleasure made her dizzy, and for a moment, time stopped. Her body was trembling, and her fingernails digging into his back. Somewhere in the haze of her orgasm, she felt Daryl jerk on top of her, and knew he had reached his peak too, seconds before she felt his warmth flood her body, and he let out a loud groan into the crook of her neck.

"I love you so much Daryl." She said wrapping her arms around his neck and he held her to him tightly as they held each other.

"If we had a baby girl, what would we call her?" She asked softly tracing lines across his toned stomach and chest.

Daryl looked thoughtful before he smiled down at her. "I always liked the name Charlotte. We could call her Charlotte Essie Dixon," he said softly as he stroked her hair. He paused for a minute and bit his lip. "Charlotte Essie Celia Dixon."

Bailey felt her breath hitch at that and she smiled at him lovingly as she kissed him lovingly and buried her face into his neck.

"That's a beautiful name, I love it." She told him smiling.

"We'll have that little girl," Daryl promised her as he kissed her softly and held her tight, as they both looked out the large windows where the moon was shining over the lake, with a soft silvery glow.

"Should we go back?" she asked with a small sigh as she got up and blew out the candles.

"Probably," Daryl said softly. "But whenever ya wanna get away to our place for a bit, even if it's just to talk, the two of us alone, tell me an' I'll be here."

"I will, I promise." She said softly as they got dressed and locked up the house before going back into the house where the others were.

They headed upstairs to their bedroom before checking on the kids who were fast asleep with Dean sucking his thumb.

"He's so perfect," Bailey said softly, staring down in wonder at the perfect child they had created. "Our baby boy."

"He's getting big." Daryl said lovingly as they kissed him and Aoife good night before getting ready for bed.

"He sure is," she said softly, as she climbed into bed, and they pulled the duvet up around them. "Night, Daryl."

"Good night Bailey, I love ya." He said kissing her as they both fell asleep.

Anna woke up the next morning and ran into the bathroom where she threw up last night's dinner when she heard Rick get up.

She was pregnant.

"Rick? Can you come in here a second?" she asked quickly, as she got up and started searching through the cupboards for a test. Rick appeared in the doorway looking at her worriedly.

"What is it?"

"I think I might be pregnant." She told him softly and he stared at her in shock before a beautiful smile came over his face.

"We're going to have a baby?" He asked her softly and she nodded at him as she grabbed a pregnancy test and took his hand.

"Yes we are."

Anna took the test, and sure enough, it was positive. "We're going to have a baby," she repeated again tearfully as she hugged him tightly.

He hugged her back as they both cried over the fact that they were going to have a baby with each other as they went into their room where Carl was with Judith.

"Why are you two crying?"

Anna looked at Rick and exchanged a smile, as they both sat down on the bed with Carl and Judith.

"Because you're going to have a little brother or sister soon, son," Rick said happily.

A shit eating grin was on Carl's face as he took this in.

"I'M GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER AGAIN?!" He asked delighted as he hugged them all and the others ran into the room.

"What's going on?!"

"Anna's pregnant, guys," Rick said happily as he wrapped his arms around her and stroked her stomach. "We're going to have a baby."

Everyone went over to give congratulate them and Bailey hugged them both along with Daryl and the others.

"I'm so happy for you two." She told them happily.

Anna gave her a smile. "Thank you. Thank you all," she said happily as she rubbed her stomach. "I can't wait to be a mommy again."

"You'll be a wonderful mother." Carol told her and she smiled at all of them as they headed downstairs to have breakfast.

Carol handed out plates of pancakes to everyone as they sat around the table, and ate in a peaceful silence. "So what's the plan for today?" Glenn asked.

"We go to Woodbury and take out Nate and his gang." Rick said calmly as everyone nodded at him in understanding.

"So who's going?" Maggie asked quietly.

"I'll go," Merle offered as he kissed Beth's cheek gently.

"I sure as hell am too," Daryl added.

Bailey looked up, her voice was quiet. "I want to go."

They all looked at her intently, "Ya sure Bailey?" Daryl asked her softly.

"I'm sure, I need to do this." She said firmly.

"I'll go too." Rick said and Anna rubbed his hand gently.

"Be careful," she said softly. "The four of you."

"We will," Rick said as he kissed her cheek gently. "Why don't we all go and get ready and we'll go?"

They all nodded and headed upstairs to get their weapons with Bailey grabbing her scythe, gun and knife as she headed downstairs to say good bye to Aoife and Dean.

"I love you two so much." She said hugging them.

"Love you mama and dada," Aoife said as she hugged her back and hugged Daryl too. "I'll look after Dean."

"Good girl," Daryl said softly as he kissed her cheek gently.

Rick hugged Anna, Carl and Judith tightly as they all headed outside where the car was and he hugged them again.

"I love you." Rick said kissing Anna lovingly.

"I love you too, Rick," she said as she stroked his cheek.

"We'll see you all soon," she said with a smile, as they got into the car, and they all waved.

They all waved as they watched their family drive through the gates and Anna felt Carl take her hand as they quietly went back inside.

"He'll be ok mom." He said smiling.

"I know he will," Anna said softly, as they went inside and sat down in the sitting room.

"I can't wait until my little brother or sister is here," Carl said excitedly.

"Neither can I, kiddo." She said hugging him.

Bailey fiddled with her gun in the back of the car as she looked out the window of the road that led to Woodbury. She wasn't sure how many times now she had checked for bullets, "So do we have a plan when we get here?" Merle asked.

"We go in through the gap in the wall then find Nate and his gang." Rick said firmly as they pulled up near the wall and got out as they saw Nate on watch.

"It's not fucking fair that Allen gets to keep the prison." He complained to Randall who nodded at that.

"Maybe after we've dealt with Rick's group, we can kill them too?"

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," Nate said as he thought about it. "We'll have so many places to stay; we won't be able to choose."

"Yeah it'll be cool." Randall said as Merle shot him in the chest and Daryl fired an arrow at Nate in the right shoulder as he screamed in pain.

"SON OF A FUCKING BITCH!"

Randall was coughing up blood as he tried to sit up, and Nate pulled the arrow from the shoulder, throwing it to the ground. "Who the fuck fired that arrow?!" he growled, as he looked down at his men patrolling the village. "FIND THEM!"

The men nodded and hurried off to find the shooter as Daryl and the others hurried into the town and went into one of the houses where they heard moaning.

"Chris harder, fuck me harder!" A familiar female voice cried out.

"Ain't that Lori?" Merle asked with his face scrunched up in disgust at the noises coming from the bedroom. "I thought she was married to Nate?"

"The brothers tend to share things," Bailey spat bitterly as she gripped her gun.

Daryl squeezed her hand as they quietly headed upstairs where they heard Lori crying out Chris's name heavily as they heard grunting noises, Rick felt disgusted.

"Cum for me Lori, be a good bitch." Chris growled as Bailey shot him in the shoulder as she stepped inside the room calmly.

Chris fell from the bed as Lori shot up and stared at the four of them in shock and horror. Bailey growled at her as she aimed her gun. "Never could keep your legs shut, could you, Lori?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." Lori snapped as she pulled on a red dressing gown and tended to Chris when Rick dragged her away from him.

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!" She screamed at him as she slapped him hard across the face.

"Fuck you Lori," Rick snarled as he shoved her and she ended up falling over the bed. Chris struggled to his feet and looked at them all with cold eyes.

He walked over to Bailey and growled. "Well, look here, my favorite toy came back from the dead."

Bailey looked at him with cold, cobalt eyes as she slammed her knife into his stomach, making him scream in pain as she unsheathed her scythe.

"I'm not your toy."

She stood above him and looked down at him with hatred as she stabbed the blade of her scythe into his crotch, making him yell out. She went on to cut off both of his hands. "Won't be able to touch anyone else, you sick bastard."

She then glared at him as she poised her scythe at the front of his neck and smiled darkly as she realised he couldn't hurt her anymore.

"I hope you burn in hell."

She let out a growl as she pressed down with her scythe and took his head clean off in one swift movement.

"Christ, that was fierce," Merle said impressed as he watched the head roll away from his body. "This one's just stepped out of a slasher movie, ain't ya sis?"

"That I am, Merle." She said smiling as Daryl took her into his arms and kissed her hard on the mouth as they hurried out of the house and saw a herd of walkers break through the wall.

"SHIT, RUN!" Rick yelled at them all as they all ran to where the car was when he felt a searing pain run through him and saw that Lori had stabbed him with a kitchen knife.

"If I can't have Shane, then Anna can't have you Rick." She said coldly as she shot him in the chest with her handgun as well.

Merle, Daryl and Bailey watched in horror as Rick went down and walkers swarmed to get to him. "Holy shit," Merle gasped as they got into the car. "I think we just lost Rick," he whispered, as Bailey let out a half sob and Daryl looked speechless.

Merle pulled the car out of Woodbury and parked it outside, unaware that Rick wasn't dead, and was trying to fight off the walkers, before Lori dragged him into a shed.

Daryl ran a hand through his hair and let out a shuddering breath. "What do we tell Anna?"

"I don't know, we tell her that he went down fighting, that he loved her, the baby, Carl and Judith." Merle said stunned as they drove back to the house where the others were.

"Anna, Carl and Judith will be devastated." Bailey said upset as they all pulled up at the house as the others with Anna in the led hurried out to greet them.

They got out of the car and she stopped as she looked for any sign of Rick but couldn't find him anywhere.

"Where's Rick?"

Merle swallowed as he looked at the other two, who looked equally as clueless. Bailey stepped forward and put a hand on Anna's arm. "We need to talk, sweetie," she said softly. "Why don't we all go inside?"

Anna nodded looking worried as they all went back inside the house and sat down on a sofa with Carl and Judith.

"Where's dad?" Carl asked worried.

Merle, Daryl and Bailey all sat down on the sofa opposite them and looked at them with sad eyes.

Daryl took a deep breath. "I'm real sorry Anna... Rick's gone," he said quietly as he lowered his head.

Anna blinked as she took this in that Rick was gone, taken from her, Carl and Judith as tears swam in her eyes and she took Carl's hand.

"What do you mean gone?" She asked trying to stay calm.

"We were in Woodbury when a herd of walkers got through the fence. We were trying to fight our way out," Merle explained quietly. "Lori stabbed Rick in the chest and shot him, he went down, and the next thing we know he was surrounded by walkers," he said sadly. "We lost him."

"But that doesn't he's dead, we need to go back and get him." She said as she ran into the hallway to get her leather jacket and sword, she sheathed her sword and pulled on her jacket as the others ran to stop her.

"Anna please, he's gone."

"NO HE ISN'T!" She screamed before she broke into sobs of grief and heartbreak, Carl ran over and hugged her along with Judith.

"No please, not Rick!"

"We're so sorry," Merle said quietly as he held Beth tightly, and watched as Anna cried into Carl and Judith.

The three of them cried mourning the loss of Rick as the others watched sadly.

"Dad no, please come back." Carl sobbed and Anna hugged him and Judith tightly as she sobbed into them both.

"I'm so sorry." She sobbed hugging them.

"It's not your fault, mom," Carl sniffled as he held them tightly and buried his face into Anna's hair.

She rocked them both gently and sobbed for the fact that Rick would never see their baby be born or Judith walk, talk and Carl get married.

"We never got to say goodbye."

"He went down fighting for us all so we could get out of there," Bailey said softly. "He was a brave man. Never forget that."

Anna nodded, "He always was a hero." She said thickly as she took Carl and Judith upstairs as the others watched sadly.

They had lost their friend, leader and brother.

Rick felt himself being tied up to a chair and growled as he tried to break loose. He'd seen Nate coming in who sneered at him. "Let me go, and your death will be less painful," Rick spat at him.

"I don't fucking think so Rick, see you killed five of my men and insulted my wife so I don't think I should listen to you." Nate said coldly as Lori took off Rick's shirt leaving him shirtless.

"Let the fun begin."

"Don't fucking touch me," Rick snarled at him as he tried to back away. "I'm going to kill you, and then my wife is going to kill you, and Daryl is going to kill you again!" he growled as he felt Nate press a knife against him.

Before he knew what was happening Nate had started to slash at him with his knife, blood started to stain his chest and jeans as he fought to stay awake.

"Maybe after I've finished with you, I'll have a go with your wife what was her name? Oh yeah Anna Stewart Grimes." Nate said evilly.

"Fuck you," Rick growled as he felt the blood trick down his stomach, before he started to lose consciousness.

"No fuck you Rick." Nate said smirking as he watched Rick go unconscious and proceeded to slash at him while Lori happily watched.

"That's what he gets." Lori said with a smile, as she kissed Nate on the cheek while they tortured Rick.

Daryl and Bailey watched worriedly as Anna came in to cook dinner with Judith in a sling and Carl by her side as they cooked.

Anna' eyes started to water and she let out a soft sob of grief and heartbreak.

"Anna, why don't you sit down, sweetheart?" Bailey asked softly, as she gave Daryl's hand a squeeze before standing up. "Let me get the dinner."

Anna nodded faintly before she crumpled onto the floor.

"MOM!" Carl cried horrified as he grabbed Judith.

"She's in shock," Hershel said worriedly as he came into the kitchen. Daryl and Merle helped lift her up and took her into the sofa. Hershel looked at Carl and Judith. "You two stay with her, she needs you both."

Carl nodded as they hurried to where Anna lay limply on the sofa, her blue eyes blank and glassy with tears sliding down; she was burning up and simply looked broken.

"It's alright mom, we're here." Carl comforted her.

What can we do to help her?" Carol asked Hershel worriedly, as she'd seen the kids cuddled into their mother.

"There's not much we can do I'm afraid, just simply be there for her and let her know that we all care about her, that she isn't alone." Hershel said sadly as they got her up to bed and into some comfortable clothes before getting her under the sheets.

"She loved dad so much." Carl said sadly.

"He loved you all too," Daryl assured him. "And he woulda loved this baby. Ya need to be strong for yer mama and yer little sister."

Carl nodded tearfully, as he and Judith climbed into bed with Anna.

They all watched as Carl and Judith curled into Anna who gripped their hands tightly but still didn't wake up from her shock.

"Should we have a funeral for Rick tomorrow?" Glenn asked uncertain.

Hershel nodded. "It might be a good idea; Anna needs to grieve for him. She needs closure."

"I'll make the preparations," Glenn said softly.

"We'll make up some food in the morning too," Patricia added with a sad smile. She had felt the same when she had lost Otis.

Everyone nodded and went to do their own thing as they all mourned for Rick the man who had helped them, been their friend.

Anna was sitting in between Rick's legs as they sat on the beach, it was windy but sunny and she smiled softly when she felt him tickle her.

She giggled slightly as she turned to look into his eyes and cupped his face, his cheek stubbly. "I love you, Rick. Why did you have to go?"

Rick smiled at her sadly as he pulled her into him and held her close, "Because it was my time to go, I'm so sorry Anna." He said pained and she curled into him.

"Carl and Judith love you, I love you." She said feeling hot tears slide down her cheeks.

"I know, and I love you all too," he said softly as he leaned down to kiss her gently. "But I need you to be strong for me. I'm going to be watching over you all the time, I promise you that. You need to be strong for Carl and Judith, but this baby especially," he said as he rubbed her stomach. "Can you do that for me?"

"I will, I promise." She said burying her face into his neck as she sobbed and he held her tightly as they held each other.

"I love you Anna, never forget that." He told her softly.

"I won't Rick," she said as she sniffled and held his hand. "I promise... I won't ever forget you Rick."

He smiled at her softly as he slowly faded away and she sobbed his name in heartbreak and grief.

"Please don't go, Rick," she cried as she sat alone on the beach, never having felt so lonely in her life.

Bailey and Daryl were lying in bed holding each other tightly, as they thought about the day.

"Something just didn't seem right," Bailey said quietly as she stroked his stomach. "Lori didn't run when the walkers were closing in on them, it was like she was still doing something with Rick."

"I know like she was still stabbing at him with that damn knife." He said worried as he stroked her cheek lovingly.

"Do you think Rick could be alive?" She asked softly as she thought about their friend who had protected them.

"There could be a chance I guess," Daryl said softly. "But it looked like he was hurt pretty bad, even before the walkers got close."

"Why don't we go check it out tomorrow? After the funeral?" she suggested. "We won't tell Anna, that way we don't get her hopes up in case it's nothing."

Daryl nodded and held her tightly as they watched it snow outside, the wind lightly shaking the windows and they saw the wind blow the trees.

"I hope he is alive." He said holding her hand tightly.

"So do I, we need him, the kids need him and Anna needs him." She said sadly.

"We all need him; he got us out of a lot danger." Daryl said holding her close.

Bailey nodded. "If he's alive, we'll find him," she said softly as she kissed him gently. "Night, Daryl, love you."

"Love ya too, Bailey," he said softly as they both drifted off to sleep. "Sweet dreams."

Anna woke up the next morning feeling drained and exhausted as she got out of bed and fed Judith who cooed at her softly.

"Hello Judy." She said lovingly as Carl woke up and sat beside her as they both watched Judith snuggle into her.

"Do you think dad suffered?" Carl asked quietly.

"I hope not, sweetheart," Anna said softly as she stroked Judith's soft hair, while remembering her dream. "I know your dad would want us to be strong. Especially for Judith and the baby," she said with a faint smile. "Can you do that?"

"I can, I promise I'll take care of you all." He said hugging them both as she watched him go into the shower as she put something dark on and saw a photo of them all on Rick's side of the bed.

She picked it up and stroked his face softly, feeling her eyes burn. "I miss you, Rick," she said sadly, as Carl came out and put on black trousers, and a black shirt. "Shall we go downstairs?" she asked as she picked up Judith. "Let's go say goodbye to your dad."

Carl nodded sadly as they both left the bedroom.

She felt him take her hand and she squeezed it gently as they went downstairs and saw that there was food on the table with some drink, a photo of Rick was on the mantelpiece and she choked back a sob as Bailey hugged her tightly.

"I'm so sorry Anna." She said softly.

Anna held her tightly and closed her eyes. "Thank you, thank you all of you for doing this," she said gratefully.

Merle gave her a small smile and a gentle pat on the back. "He was family to all of us too."

She gave him a sad smile as she rocked Judith who snuffled and curled into her as they all sat down and she saw Sophia hug Carl tightly.

She touched the pearls on her neck gently and smiled softly.

"I know we don't have Rick here to say goodbye," Hershel said quietly, as he lifted his bible, "But he's here with his family in spirit." He opened his bible and read a small passage. "Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them." He looked over at Anna and the children. "Would you like to say a few words, sweetheart?"

Anna nodded and gave Judith to Carl who smiled at her sadly as she stood up and took a deep breath speaking as she looked at Rick's photo.

"Rick always wanted to help people; he was selfless, kind, compassionate, gentle and loving. He helped a family get out of their house when we had a hurricane in King County, he was a brave man and I loved him." She said feeling tears slide down her face.

"I may not have seen what he did when all this happened but he saved us all and protected us, I will never forget him and neither will Carl and Judith." She said as Carl smiled at her.

Anna sat back down and Hershel gave her a small smile. "May Rick rest in peace," he said softly. Beth sang a hymn for him, while they went outside to a cross Oscar had put down, and Anna placed some flowers on top of it.

Carl placed Rick's badge on the cross and touched it lightly before taking Anna's hand and Judith kissed it before they all went back inside.

"Goodbye dad I love you, I promise I'll take care of mom, Judith and the baby." He promised.

Everyone smiled sadly as they watched the three of them go back upstairs and sat down at the kitchen table. "That was nice," Carol said softly. "I think Anna needed to let go."

"I hope they'll be ok." Bailey said as she held Daryl's hand while she cuddled Dean who cooed at her and snuggled into her.

"Who'll lead the group now?" Morgan asked quietly.

"We'll all do our bit," Merle said quietly. "We won't have a leader, really, just guidance. I don't think we could do it like Rick did."

Everyone nodded at that and continued to eat their lunch quietly as they all mourned for Rick who had been their friend.

Rick woke up in the shed and tried to get himself free from the ropes when he saw a knife on the floor.

Rick shifted slightly, but his body was in pain every time he tried to use a muscle. He reached out with his foot to try and get the knife, before he felt himself wobble and the chair toppled over. "Fuck," he groaned, as he heard footsteps outside the shed.

He waited with baited breath as he heard Nate talking outside with another man; he managed to grab the knife and started to cut at the ropes.

"We'll attack the group now that they don't have their leader, we'll take the women and kids, make the men watch and take their supplies." Nate said coldly.

He had just finished cutting himself free and grabbed his Colt.

He sneaked to the door of the shed. He wanted to kill that bastard Nate, but he knew gunfire would attract attention. Instead, he slipped out a side door and struggled to the wall, where it took him about ten minutes to climb over. He was exhausted from the blood loss and slumped down at the other side of the wall. The mansion was miles away, and he frowned at the thought. It was going to be hell trying to get back.

Bailey waited until only she and Daryl were left in the kitchen before looking at him. "How about we go check out Woodbury now?" she asked. "I should probably get changed first, I can't kick ass in a dress."

He nodded and watched her go upstairs where she went into their room and pulled on a pair of jeans with a sweater and her boots as she went downstairs where Daryl was waiting.

"Ready?" He asked softly and she nodded as they got on his bike and drove back to Woodbury where they would hopefully find Rick.

Bailey and Daryl parked up a bit away from the wall, before walking towards it and sneaking over as quietly as they could, dropping down into the village. "You check the buildings on the right, I'll do the ones on the left?" she suggested.

Daryl nodded and they spilt up as they went into different directions and checked the buildings for any sign of Rick.

Daryl looked all into the buildings but saw a familiar looking knife and picked it up, feeling a lump in his throat.

It was Rick's knife.

He looked around him and seen a chair. There were rope pieces on it, looking like they had been cut through, and a blood trail that led out of one of the doors. "Shit, Rick?" he wondered as he heard voices outside.

"Let's go see if Grimes is ready for round two!"
