Dragonose's POV- Crater Arena

As Dragonose glided down, a small volcano could be seen. Something, however, was covering the crater. It unfolded to reveal itself as a devil-like heartless. Besides the wings, it resembled the shape of a darkside heartless. Dragonose summoned his keyblades, and soared after the giant heartless just before a force field appeared behind him.

Xenysis, exasperated: "Man, what is it with bosses and force fields?!"

Ymke: "I don't know, Xeny. I don't know."

Dragonose began with a quick aeroga, and activated his keyblade armor. Next, he started an all-direction sonic blade slicing up the heartless into ribbons. The heartless then rebuilt itself. It conjured a pillar of magma, and Dragonose's aeroga chose that moment to dissipate. He was hit point blank by the magma, and a fast-thought curaga took care of that. He shot a Fus-Ro at the creature, and it stunned it for a bit. This gave Dragonose a chance to use ragnarock on it.

The creature flapped its wings, and Dragonose was blown back. While being blown back, Dragonose started a flurry of Strike the last hit, a beam of ight shot outward from its head. A heart appeared, and floated off to find its body. The heartless caved in, and revealed a cavern within the crater.

The force field dissipated, and the group rejoined Dragonose. They all headed down the crater, and into a doorway of light. When they went through, they met up with another behemoth. This one didn't take any longer to defeat than the others. When it was defeated, the heartless symbol disappeared to reveal a doorway leading to another door.

Xenysis's POV

The inner door was made of wood, and resembled the one back at Destiny Isles. The only difference was that this door had a handle. As soon as Xenysis, Dragonose, Ymke, and Sora came close to it, a familiar voice was heard.

Sora, Dragonose, Ymke, and Xenysis: "Huh?!"

Donald: "What's wrong?"

Sora: "Don't you hear something?"

Ymke: "There!"

Careful. This is the last haven you'll find here.

Beyond, there is no light to protect you.

But don't be afraid. Your hearts are the mightiest weapons of all.

Remember, you are the ones who will open the door to the light.

Goofy: "I don't hear anything."

Xenysis: "Strange… that voice was so familiar.

Dragonose: "Maybe it's just our imaginations."

Donald: "Maybe you'd all better take a rest."

Xenysis, despite being told to take a rest, opened the door to reveal light. When the entire group set foot into the room, the light dims enough for Xenysis and Sora to recognize it.

Xenysis: "Isn't this…"

Sora: "…Our island?!"

Ymke: "You mean that this is Destiny Isles?"

Xenysis: "Yeah."

Dragonose: "Looks pretty deserted, if you ask me."

Donald: "Well no dip, Sherlock."

Xenysis and Sora began heading to the secret place, but stop when they heard a familiar and distasteful voice. It seemed to be coming from from nowhere, and everywhere at the same time. It in fact, sounded like Ansem.

Ansem: "This world has been connected."

Goofy: "What was that?!"

Ansem: "Tied to the darkness… soon to be completely eclipsed."

As Ansem spoke, the world began disappearing. First, paopu island left. Then, the platform where Tidus used to practice on. Finally, the sea turned dark purple.

Ansem: "There is so very much to learn. You understand so little. A meaningless effort. One who knows nothing can understand nothing."

When Ansem finished, the entire island looked like it was ready to break apart at the seams. Then, Ansem/Riku could be seen near the edge of the cracked beach. As the group ran toward him, he spoke again.

Ansem/Riku: "Take a look at this tiny place. To a heart seeking freedom, this island is a prison surrounded by water. And so this boy sought to escape from his prison. He sought a way to cross into other worlds, and he opened his heart to darkness."

The Ansem/Riku turned, Riku body transformed into Ansem's form. The group was shocked at the sight.

Xenysis and Sora: "Riku!"

Ansem: "Don't bother. Your voice can no longer reach him where he is. His heart belongs again to darkness. All worlds begin in darkness, and all so end. The heart is no different. Darkness sprouts within it. It grows. Consumes it. Such is it's nature."

Ansem then teleported from where he stood, right behind the group. As he continued talking, Sora's trinity was surprised while Xenysis's trinity just turned around to face Ansem.

Ansem: "In the end, every heart returns to the darkness, whence it came. You see. Darkness is the heart's true essence."

Sora: "That's not true!"

Xenysis: "The heart may be weak, and sometimes it may even give in."

Ymke: "But we've learned that deep down, there's a light that never goes out!"

Ansem, after hearing this, started hovering above everyone. His face showed obvious disappointment.

Ansem: "So, you have come this far, and still you understand nothing. Every light must fade. Every heart return to darkness!"

The space behind Ansem turned to darkness, and appeared in the shape of a heartless. It seemed to look like a mini darkside. The only difference, besides its size, was the bandages around it.

Everyone summoned their keyblades, and Donald and Goofy drew their weapons. Dragonose activated his keyblade armor. Ymke and Xenysis were surrounded by their respective elements, and their clothes were transformed into fire leather armor and darkness scale armor, respectively. Donald used aeroga on everyone.

Ymke knew that this would be the hardest battle they would fight for a long time. It was going to end here. No matter who won, it would end here.
