Somebody To Die For

Chapter 30

"I love ya too, Bailey," he said softly as he kissed her forehead. "Always, no matter what happens."

Bailey smiled as she leaned against him, wondering how she had gotten so lucky after Dave.

He held her tightly to him and stroked her hair lovingly as they watched it rain outside when she spoke softly.

"Shall we go and give the others the supplies?"

"If you wanna," Daryl said softly. "Ya sure ya don't wanna stay here for a couple of days?" he asked. "Ya could do with a break, y'know."

"Is it ok if we stay here for a while?" She asked quietly.

"Sure it is," Daryl said softly as he kissed her gently. "How about I take some of the supplies up to the house and then come back?" he suggested.

Bailey smiled. "That sounds good. I can make some dinner."

Daryl smiled at her as he got up and put half of the supplies in a bag as Bailey started to cook dinner and headed back to the house.

"Hey Rick, Dean found supplies in the house!" He called up to him.

Rick came down and looked at the boxes smiling when he seen they had food and other useful items in them. "Nice find," he grinned as he took the boxes off Daryl. "Thanks for bringing them up. How are you?"

"Good thanks, Bailey's better." Daryl said smiling as they sat in the autumn sunshine.

"How is she doing?" Anna asked as she came from the green house.

"Getting there," Daryl replied softly. "When she seen the house and the kids, I don't think she could believe they were hers," he said with a sad smile. "We're gonna stay down there a few days, until she's a bit more herself."

"Take as much time you need, tell her we're all thinking about her." Rick added and smiled sadly at Daryl as he rode back to the house.

"Poor Daryl." Anna said sadly.

Rick nodded as he watched him go. "He needs the break too. So do the kids, all of them do," he said softly as he pulled Anna into him and rubbed her stomach gently.

She smiled at him as they headed back to the house with the supplies where they saw Carl and Judith playing with James when he spoke.

"Mama, dada, Larl, Judy."

Anna looked at him and grinned widely, as she crouched down beside him. "That's my good boy!" she said softly as she ruffled his hair. "Well done, little man, that's right!"

"That's our boy," Rick smiled as he kissed James' forehead.

"Well done, Jamie." Carl said smiling at his younger brother who grinned and waved his arms in the air before falling asleep, snoring slightly.

"He loves snoring don't he?" Merle said smirking.

"So do you when we're in bed." Beth said smiling at him.

"I don't snore, sugar." He said firmly.

"You sure do," Beth smirked as she cuddled into him and rubbed her stomach. "Let's hope our little one doesn't."

Merle patted her stomach as he felt the baby kick at his touch and he smiled happily as he saw Lucky jump onto Beth's stomach and snuggled into them.

"He's sittin' on yer bump." He said amused.

Beth smiled down at Lucky and stroked him gently. "He's looking after the little one, aren't you, kitty?" she grinned as the cat purred contentedly.

Merle smirked. "Lucky the guardian angel."

Everyone laughed at that as they watched it snow outside and sat talking happily with Katy and Emma snuggled into Glenn and Maggie.

"Do you think it's a boy?" She asked Glenn.

"I don't know," Glenn smiled as he rubbed her stomach. "Would be nice to have a little boy along with our two girls, but I don't mind as long as they're healthy," he said softly.

Maggie kissed his cheek. "Me either."

Everyone smiled at that with Axel playing a game of cards with Carol and Sophia as they all wished for Bailey to get better.

"Was Bailey and Daryl alright?" Beth asked Rick.

Rick nodded. "I think she's getting there. They just need some time," he said with a soft smile as he played with James.

"What do we do with supplies when Quinn comes back?" Morgan asked worried.

"We'll hide them in the basement. He won't know we have anything else, so he can't take anything else from us," Rick said firmly.

Anna nodded. "Let's hope that works."

They all nodded as they continued to play.

Bailey had just cooked dinner when Daryl pulled up on his bike and had Rayland on her hip as Dean and Aoife sat at the table.

"Dinner's just been cooked." She told him as he kissed her lovingly.

Daryl smiled at her as he sat down, and Bailey placed the plate down in front of him, he noticed her hands were shaking. She looked at him carefully for a moment. "Is it OK?" she asked nervously, waiting for a slap across the face or the plate to be thrown across the room. "Dave would get made if I made something he didn't like," she added quietly.

"I'm not Dave, Bailey, and this is fuckin' good." He assured her as he tucked into the pasta and she made sure the kids had enough before eating as well.

"Really, you like it?" She asked pleased.

"Really." He confirmed.

Bailey let out a sigh of relief as she began to eat her dinner, looking at the kids, checking they were OK.

Aoife looked at her mother, and then to her father, giving him a small smile. "Was everything at the house OK, daddy?"

"Everything was fine darlin, ya Aunty Beth felt the baby the kick." He told them as they all ate their dinner quietly when Bailey felt a pain in her stomach.

"Oh." She groaned wincing in pain before collapsing.

"Bailey?" he asked alarmed as he rushed over to her and picked her up. She was groaning in pain, her breathing heavy. Daryl carried her to the sofa and laid her down before looking at Aoife and Dean. "Kids? I need ya to do something for me? Run up to the house and get Hershel and Anna, tell them to bring their medical stuff as quick as they can, alright?"

They both nodded and out of the house towards the estate where they could see Merle on watch with Glenn.

"UNCLE MERLE, UNCLE GLENN WE NEED HELP!" Aoife screamed as they stopped outside the gate and started to wave.

Merle rushed down looking worriedly at his niece and nephew. "Hey kids, what's wrong?"

"Its mommy," Aoife said quickly. "Daddy told us to come get Hershel and Anna and the medical stuff."

"I'll go get them," Glenn said as he rushed into the house.

He ran inside where he saw Anna and Hershel looking at him worriedly.

"It's Bailey, she's not feeling well and needs help." He explained quickly and they both nodded as they hurried out of the house and rushed to where Aoife and Dean were.

"Follow us, Aunt Anna, Grandpa Hershel," Dean said as they ran off back to the lake-house, where they found Bailey on the couch in tears, holding her side, while Daryl stroked her hair gently.

"Daryl, what happened?" Hershel asked quickly.

"She was clearing up the plates so she could wash up then she felt a pain in her stomach and she collapsed." Daryl said worriedly as Bailey cried out in pain.

"Her appendix has burst." Anna said worried.

"What does that mean?" Daryl asked worriedly. "I mean, is she gonna be OK? Do we give her tablets, or...?"

Hershel shook his head. His first wife had appendicitis once too, and the only way to fix it was to take the appendix out. "She needs surgery."

"What?" Daryl snapped. "We ain't got the fuckin' equipment for surgery, she'll die! And I ain't havin' that!"

"She'll die if she doesn't," Anna said firmly, before she got an idea. "The CDC! They said if we ever needed help..."

"We'll take her there then and make sure she gets better." Hershel said as he gathered the kids and Daryl grabbed some of Bailey's things when he saw the kids.

"What about the kids?" He asked worried as he picked up Bailey who was passed out and breathing heavily.

"Your family will take good care of them," Anna assured him. "You just go with her to the CDC. Hershel, you should go along, you can explain it to them," she suggested and Hershel nodded, as Anna picked up Rayland and Aoife and Dean held hands with her. "Go on, we'll make sure they're alright."

"Thank ya that means a lot to me." He said and he kissed his children good bye and hurried out of the house along with Hershel as they drove to the CDC.

"Will mama be alright, Aunty Anna?" Dean asked upset as they headed back to the estate.

Anna nodded and stroked his hair gently as she rocked Rayland in her arms. "The doctors and nurses at the CDC will look after her," she said softly, hoping she was right.

They all nodded as they sat next to her and Rick.

Daryl held Bailey tightly in his arms as Hershel drove to the CDC and they found the base just as Quinn stopped them.

"What's going on?"

"We need help!" Daryl said desperately as he went into the back of the car and got Bailey, making Quinn stare in shock. "Please she needs surgery, we ain't got the equipment, and I know we didn't see eye to eye last time ya came by the house, but we ain't got anywhere else to go. I can't lose her."

"Follow me and I'll get Lily to help ya'll out." Quinn said quickly and they followed after him as Bailey whimpered in pain.

"Hold on Bailey, I'm gonna make this better." Daryl said as the headed into the base and saw Lily hurry over to them.

"What happened?" she asked quickly, as they took Bailey into a medical room and laid her down on the bed.

"Her appendix burst," Hershel explained. "She needs surgery, but we don't have the equipment.

"I need Lawson and Howard in here NOW!" Lily called out as a man and a woman hurried wearing scrubs as they helped her.

"What have we got here?" Howard asked.

"She has appendicitis," Lily explained quickly as she put on her gloves, and pulled over a tray of medical equipment. "We need to remove the appendix."

"Can we set up the anaesthesia, now please?" Lawson asked Howard.

Howard nodded and placed an oxygen mask over Bailey's face as Lawson inserted an IV drip and soon Bailey was asleep and they were getting ready for the surgery when they saw Daryl looking worriedly at her.

"I'm sorry sir but you'll have to leave." Howard told him firmly.

"I ain't leaving her." Daryl said firmly.

"We need space to perform the surgery," Howard told him. "It's going to be much easier if you're outside."

Hershel put a hand on his shoulder. "Come on son, she's in good hands."

Daryl sighed and headed outside before kissing Bailey gently on the forehead as he left and sagged into a comfortable chair.

"I hope to god, she's alright." He said praying.

"She will be son," Hershel said softly, as Quinn brought them both a cup of coffee. "She's a fighter, my niece. I know she'll be alright."

Daryl nodded as Quinn sat beside and they sat in silence for a while as they prayed that Bailey would be alright.

"So how long have you two been married?" Quinn asked him.

"Uh well, we ain't really, but we've been together for a couple of years now. Known each other since we were kids," he said softly, as he tried to shift to see if he could see through the window to where they were performing surgery.

Quinn smiled. "And you have three children, yeah?"

"Yeah we do a girl and two boys." Daryl said as they heard a beeping sound from and he looked through the window to see Bailey going into shock, blood was everywhere and Lily was barking out orders.

"What's going on?!" He asked getting up.

"Stay here," Quinn told him as he went into the room and assisted Lily and the others. "What is it, Lily?" he asked worriedly.

"She's haemorrhaging," Lily explained quickly.

"What can we do?" Howard asked as he tried to stop the bleeding and Bailey stopped shaking as her breathing evened out.

"I need to talk to her husband." Lily said worriedly.

"He's outside," Quinn said softly, as he helped Lawson and Howard continue the surgery.

Lily took off her scrubs and walked to where Daryl was, with Hershel beside him. "Mr Dixon? I need to talk to you."

"What is it?" Daryl panicked. "Bailey? Bailey, is she OK?"

"She haemorrhaged during the surgery but we managed to stop the bleeding before she could go into shock, Mr Dixon I need to discuss weather you and Bailey are going to have more children." She said gently.

"Why, what's goin' on?" Daryl asked worried.

"She might struggle with the birth if you choose to go ahead. We stopped the bleeding, but giving birth could cause the vessels to rupture again, and Bailey could die very easily," she said softly.

"Ya mean it might be best to tell her to have a hysterectomy?" He asked heartbroken and Lily nodded sadly.

"You don't have to make a decision yet though, wait until Bailey wakes up?" She suggested gently and he nodded heavily.

"Thank ya."

Hershel looked at him and felt his eyes burn with tears. "I'm sorry, Daryl," he said quietly, as he pulled him into a hug, surprised when Daryl didn't even pull away, but hugged him back instead.

Daryl began to sob into him. "She wanted that little girl so bad. I wanted to give her one," he choked out. "Charlotte Essie Celia Dixon."

"I know you did son, I know." Hershel said as they saw Howard come out looking relived but sad as he came towards them.

"We've managed to stop the bleeding and she's awake, she's asking for you." He said sadly and Daryl nodded as he went into the room where Bailey was.

"This will kill her." Hershel said sadly.

Bailey looked up, her mouth dry, as Lawson helped her take a drink of water. She'd seen Daryl and Hershel come in and her face brightened a little as she tried to move so she could sit up. "Hey there." she said softly.

"Hey there sweetheart, how are ya feeling?" Daryl asked as he sat down next to her and took her hand as Hershel sat on the other side.

"Sore but much better." She said softly.

"That's good," he said with a faint smile as he leaned down to kiss her forehead.

"Everything OK?" she asked. "Everyone alright back at the house?"

"Everything's fine, don't you worry." Hershel assured his niece as Lily came in and checked her blood pressure.

"Bailey I need to tell ya somethin'." Daryl said taking her hand and holding it tightly.

"What is it, what's wrong?" She asked worried.

"Ya know ya haemorrhaged during the operation," he began quietly, feeling his heart ache. "Well... they managed to stitch everything up, but it might burst again, and ya could die, if... if we have any more kids."

"You mean we can't have anymore children, is that it?" She choked out and felt her eyes swim with tears of anguish.

"I'm sorry Bailey." He said holding her hand tightly, scared that she'd hurt herself.

Hershel rubbed her back gently from the other side and felt tears slide down his face.

Lily looked at them sadly. "You can have children, it's just the birth would be very difficult. So it's probably best you take preventative measures."

"You mean I have to have a hysterectomy, is that it?" Bailey sobbed and Daryl held her tightly as she cried heartbrokenly.

"I'm not having it."

Lily looked at her worriedly. "Bailey, it could be very dangerous for your body if you were to get pregnant again. There's a large chance you would die giving birth."

"I said no," Bailey said firmly.

"Bailey please, think about this." Daryl pleaded and she looked at him in shock, disbelief and hurt at the fact that he didn't want her to have another baby of theirs.

"I thought you wanted more children?" She asked her voice barely above a whisper.

"I don't want ya to die," he said quickly. "We have three perfect children, I love our family. Come on, Bailey."

Bailey looked at them all hurt, before she started to pull the wires out of her skin. "I'm getting out of here."

"Bailey, wait." Lily said but it was too late as Bailey ran out of the room and hurried outside where she found a car and was about to get in when Daryl grabbed her.

"Get off me, leave me alone!" She screamed as she kicked at him and started to cry heartbrokenly in his arms.

Hershel and Quinn followed them out looking at her concerned. "Maybe we should go home and talk about this," Hershel suggested softly. "Give Bailey some time to rest from the surgery first before we make any decisions."

Daryl nodded sadly and looked tearfully at Lily and the other doctors as they put her in the back of the truck.

"Thank ya." He said thickly as she handed him some medication.

"I'm sorry." Lily said sadly.

Daryl gave her a faint smile. "Thanks," he said as he and Hershel climbed into the truck, and gave them a wave as they drove home. Bailey had fallen asleep in the back and Daryl sighed sadly. "It's gonna kill her if she goes through with it. Especially with Anna and Maggie and Beth all havin' lil' uns."

"What will you do if she does continue with a pregnancy?" Hershel asked quietly as they drove back to the house.

"I don't know, I'll love the baby but I'll be torn." Daryl said upset

Hershel nodded in understanding. "I know you will be son. I wish you two had told each other how you felt before she married Dave, and before the world went to hell," he said sadly.

"So do I, its all my fault." Daryl said pained as Oscar and Tomas let them inside the house and he carried Bailey upstairs as the others watched.

"Is everything alright?" Carol asked worried.

Hershel swallowed as everyone looked at him with worried eyes. "The surgery was done, but she haemorrhaged. The doctor thinks that Bailey should have a hysterectomy, to prevent complications during any possible future childbirth, but Bailey doesn't want that."

"Oh my god, she must feel terrible." Carol said upset as they all sat in the living room and heard Bailey crying upstairs.

"She and Daryl don't deserve this." Merle said upset as they heard screaming upstairs.

"GET OUT, JUST GET OUT DARYL!" Bailey screamed at Daryl.

Everyone exchanged glances with each other, before Daryl came downstairs looking like a lost puppy, as he swallowed hard and looked around the room. "What y'all lookin' at?" he snapped as he went to sit on the sofa, and Aoife, Dean and Rayland looked at him nervously, before sitting beside him.

"Is mama alright, daddy?" Aoife asked scared and he sighed sadly as he looked at her.

"Mama's not well at the minute, sweetheart." He said holding them close as the others watched sadly.

"What do we do?" Beth asked worried.

Daryl shook his head. "Ain't got a clue," he admitted quietly. "I dunno what to do," he said as he stroked Rayland's soft hair.

"We just need to show Bailey that we're there her and that we won't judge her decision." Carol said firmly and Daryl froze as he saw Bailey come in, she had changed into a sundress and didn't look at anyone as Rayland looked up at her.

"I only came down to get Rayland, Dean and Aoife ready for bed." She told Daryl quietly.

Aoife and Dean looked at their mother confused as they stood up and went upstairs, as Bailey picked up Rayland. She winced when she moved around, still sore from the surgery, but didn't say anything else as she took the kids up to bed.

"Goodnight my angels, mommy loves you." She said kissing their foreheads lovingly as she tucked them into bed.

"We love you too, mama." Aoife said as they fell asleep and she watched them sleep before going into her room to pack some things and once she finished, she headed downstairs.

She went to find her car keys, and went outside, packing her stuff into the trunk. She knew Glenn and Maggie were on watch, which meant they were probably having sex on the roof, so she didn't worry too much about sneaking out. She opened the gate herself and drove through, closing it behind her, before she got into the car and drove off. She tried to think of somewhere she could go.

The prison. They might not have welcomed the group, but maybe when she was alone.

Daryl had sat in the living room on his own for a while before he decided to go upstairs to check on the kids and Bailey.

He went up the stairs and checked on the kids first and smiled softly before he headed into his and Bailey's room when he found it empty

"Bailey?" he asked quietly as he looked around the room. He checked in the bathroom, no one was there. He walked through to the kids' room and slowly shook Aoife awake. "Hey, sweetheart, sorry to wake ya. Did mama say she was goin' out anywhere? A walk? To the lake-house maybe?"

"No daddy but I heard her mention the prison." She told him and he nodded as he ran downstairs onto his bike and drove off.

"Hang on Bailey."

Bailey pulled up at the gates to the prison and was met with a gun in her face. She briefly remembered the man. "Lee? Lee, it's me, Bailey," she said quickly. "Look, I'm not with my group anymore, and I need a place to stay. I won't be taking up much room, I'll help out with whatever I can, and I don't need much to eat or anything. Please."

"HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO SAY IT BITCH?" YOU AREN'T WELCOME HERE!" Allen yelled and he fired at her as she ran back to the car and drove feeling herself deflate in despair as she pulled up on a lonely highway and looked at the sky.

"WHY WON'T YOU LET ME BE HAPPY?!" She screamed at the sky as it started to rain and she simply stood under the rain as she heard the sound of a motorcycle pull up.

She looked down her feet and sighed, as she heard the bike stop. She'd know the sound of that bike anywhere. She heard footsteps approach, but didn't look up or move. "Bailey?" Daryl's voice said softly.

She broke then and flung herself at him sobbing uncontrollably as he held her and cried along with her as they held each other in the rain.

"I love you, I love." She said kissing him through her tears.

"I love ya too," he said as he wrapped his arms around her and stroked her wet hair. "I love ya more than ya could ever know."

"I'm sorry for being so selfish and cold with you and everyone." She sobbed and he held her tightly to him.

"Ya really want that baby?" He asked gently.

Bailey looked down at the ground and sighed. "It's OK," she said softly. "I don't want to leave my children, and we might not even have a girl anyway, it might be another boy. I was just getting upset because I missed Celia."

"We'll try for another baby but I want ya to take it easy, no going on supply runs or anything like that alright?" He asked and she nodded giving him a soft smile.

"I love you."

"Love ya too," Daryl said as he kissed her softly. "Come on, let's get ya back home where ya belong, yer gonna get soaked out here," he said as he took her hand.

She smiled at him as they got back into the truck and drove back to the estate with Daryl opening the gate and they drove into the driveway.

They got inside and Daryl pulled her into him as they headed upstairs.

"Get into bed, darlin'," he said softly, as he helped her out of her wet clothes. "I'll go make ya somethin' hot to drink."

She nodded and pulled on a warm short sleeved nightgown as she watched Daryl go downstairs to make her a drink and smiled softly.

Carol looked up at him as he came into the kitchen. "Did you find her? Is she OK?"

Daryl nodded. "Yeah, I shoulda said, sorry. I think we're gonna be alright."

Carol smiled at him gently, "I'm glad." She said warmly and everyone smiled at that.

"Can we see her?" Maggie asked softly.

Daryl gave her a small smile as he stirred a hot chocolate for her, adding some cream and marshmallows. "Sure ya can, but maybe only a few people at time."

Maggie nodded and she and Beth headed upstairs to see their cousin who was curled under the sheets with the children at her side as she looked up at them.

"Hi you two." She said softly with a warm smile.

"Hey, Bailey," Beth said softly as they sat down next to her. "How are you feeling."

"I'm OK, thanks," she said with a small smile. "I'm sorry for runnin' off on y'all like that."

"Don't be, we understand." Maggie assured her as she held her hand tightly and Beth held her other hand as she sniffled.

"We're going to try for another baby but I want you to promise me something?" She asked looking sad.

"Anything." Beth said gently.

"If I die, you'll look after my baby and my kids for me," she said softly. "Help Daryl, take care of them," she said quietly, as she squeezed their hands.

"Of course we will but you'll be alright Bailey." Maggie said hugging her tightly along with Beth as they all cried together.

"It might not even ever happen, but I want to make sure there's someone there for them if it does," she said softly, as Anna and Rick appeared in the doorway.

"Hey, Bailey," Rick said softly, as they went in and sat on the bed.

"Hey Rick, Anna how are you and the kids, is the baby alright?" She asked gently and they both smiled at her weakly.

"We're fine Bailey." Anna said wiping her eyes.

Bailey nodded. "I'm glad," she said with a soft smile, squeezing Anna's hand.

Daryl smiled down at her proudly and kissed her forehead.

She curled into him and squeezed his hand tightly as Carol came in along with the others looking at Bailey with worried eyes.

"Are you alright?" Carol asked hugging her.

Bailey nodded. "I'm alright thank you, is everyone else OK? Where's Rayland, Dean and Aoife?"

"Right here, mama." Aoife said as they hurried to where their mother was and snuggled into her as Rayland looked at her with sad grey eyes.

"Do you wish I was a girl?"

"No, sweetheart, I love you as you are, your daddy and I both do," she said softly. "You're our perfect little man."

"I love you mama." He said cuddling into her and she held them all tightly as she looked at everyone with pained eyes.

"I'm so sorry for worrying all of you."

"We're just glad your home safe and sound," Hershel said softly, as he got her some more blankets. "You rest, take care of yourself."

She gave him a small smile. "Thanks Uncle Hershel."

"No problem, we love you." They all said and Bailey smiled softly as she fell asleep feeling a sense of peace wash over her as she slept with her family around her.

Daryl smiled as he wrapped her and the kids in his arms, and they all cuddled up together, falling into a peaceful dream.

The next morning Anna was in the kitchen reading a book when she heard knocking on the door and Carl looked up worriedly.

"Stay here, I'll get it." She assured him and headed to the door.

She opened it to see a man and woman standing, with a man bleeding in their arms. "We need medical help! Please help us!"

"What happened?" Anna asked quickly, as she looked down at the man.

"He got bit on the arm," the woman explained quickly.

"I'm sorry there's nothing I can do to help him." She said pained as one of the men grabbed her roughly by the arm and pinned her to the door.

"You're lying, there has to be something you can do!" He snarled at her and she placed a hand over her bump protectively.

"Please don't hurt my baby." She pleaded, fearing for her unborn child's life.

"There has to be something you can do!" The man snapped as he looked at the others with him. "Go into the house; check the kitchen and all the bathrooms for medical supplies. Go!"

The others stormed inside the house as Bailey came down with Rayland and Daryl and the kids as they saw the people come in.

"Who are you?" She asked wearily.

One of the men pushed past her. "Move outta the way, lady," he snapped as he went upstairs.

Bailey and Daryl walked into the sitting room where Anna was looking pale. "What the hell is going on?"

"Me and Carl heard knocking on the door so I answered, there was man asking me to help one of their men because he had been bit and I said I couldn't help him... He pinned me to the wall and I started to worry about the baby." She sobbed at the end as Bailey pulled her into her tightly as the group came in.

"They haven't got anything Nick!"

"Why the hell are ya lookin' for medical supplies for the bite?" Daryl snapped at them as Bailey held Anna. "Ya can't cure a damn bite, he's gonna die."

The group glared at him as they hurried out of the house and Anna collapsed onto the floor, her body shaking violently.

"Mom, mom!" Carl cried scared.

"Hershel, we need some help in here!" Bailey called out, as Daryl lifted Anna onto the sofa.

"What happened?" Hershel asked, running in.

"A group busted in here and roughened Anna up and she's pretty shook up." Bailey said worried as Rick hurried in with James and Judith.

"Anna? Anna, it's OK," Rick said softly as he sat down and rubbed her stomach. "You're OK, I'm here now," he said as he cuddled her.

Anna let out a sob before relaxing into Rick who rocked her gently before looking at Bailey with grateful eyes.

"Thank you."

"You don't need to thank me," she said softly. "I didn't do anything. As long as you and the baby are OK."

Rick nodded and Daryl pulled her into him tightly as they played with their children happily and she stroked Rayland's soft hair.

"I love you all."

"We love you too, mommy," Dean said softly as he hugged her. "And daddy."

"Let's just all get some rest," Rick said softly as he held Anna. "We don't want to upset the baby."

Anna nodded and let Rick take her upstairs to bed as the others watched in silence and Bailey kissed her children's foreheads as they ran off to play but kept a close eye on them as Daryl held her tightly.

"I love my family," she said softly as she took Daryl's hand. "I love you."

Daryl smiled at her. "I love ya too. I'm glad yer back."

"It's good to be back, Daryl." She said holding his hand tightly and then heard Maggie swear lightly.

"Oh shit, my waters have broken!"

Hershel hurried over with his medical equipment, while Anna was still upstairs. "Let me help," Bailey said softly as they helped Maggie onto the sofa.

Maggie cried out in pain as she held Bailey's hand tightly with Beth and Glenn beside as she gave birth to her first child.

"Alright Maggie, nearly there." Hershel soothed.

"Just keep pushing, Mags," Bailey said softly as she wiped her forehead. "Keep your breathing steady," she said as Maggie nodded and squeezed her hand tightly, letting out a small yell as she pushed.

"Maggie I can see the head!" Beth cried and sure enough a loud cry was heard as Hershel held a pink squirming baby along with another one.

"A boy and a girl." Bailey said warmly.

"Oh god!" Maggie said happily as she covered her mouth with her hand and looked at the babies.

Glenn kissed Maggie happily. "Thank you, I love you Maggie." He told her and hugged them all happily.

"What are their names?" Hershel asked softly.

Maggie looked down at her children and smiled. "I don't know. I thought we could call the girl Maria Bailey Anna Rhee?"

Bailey clapped a hand to her mouth as tears came into her eyes and Anna looked deeply moved by this.

"Oh Maggie, thank you." They hugged her tightly.

"We'll call the little boy, Josh Hershel Rick Merle Daryl Rhee?" Glenn suggested.

"I love it," Maggie said smiling down at her twins. "I can't believe we had two beautiful babies."

Glenn smiled. "They're perfect."

Everyone smiled at that as Glenn helped Maggie and the babies up to bed and Beth smiled happily at them all.

"I'm an aunty again!" She cried hugging Bailey.

Bailey smiled at her softly as she rubbed her back. "You sure are, Beth," she said gently. "And you're going to be a mommy soon too."

"You will be too, just you wait." Beth promised and Bailey hugged her tightly.

"I already have three perfect children," she said softly, as she watched Aoife and Dean play contently with Rayland. "I don't need anyone else to have a perfect family."

Daryl squeezed her hand tightly as they hugged Beth and watched Bailey help Hershel, Carol and Anna clean up when Will spoke softly.

"How is she?"

Daryl smiled at him. "I think everything's gonna be alright," he said softly with a small nod. "Yeah, things seem to be lookin' up for a change."

Will smiled at him proudly and clapped him on the shoulder. "I'm glad." He said warmly and they all smiled as Bailey picked up Rayland for his nap.

"Someone's tired." She said lovingly and Rayland laughed.

"Let's get you up to bed, little man," she said softly as she held him and carried him upstairs, taking him into their room. She set him down and stroked his hair gently. "Mommy loves you. So much. You know that, don't you son?"

"I do mommy, I love you too." Rayland said snuggling into her as he fell asleep and Lupo jumped onto the bed and curled up next to him.

She stroked his hair lovingly and wrapped a blanket around him tenderly as Daryl came in.

Daryl smiled as he sat down and rested his chin on her shoulder as they watched over their son while he slept. "Our gorgeous little man."

"He's so beautiful." Bailey said lovingly as she made sure he was warm enough as they left the bedroom and headed downstairs.

"Maggie, Maria, Glenn and Josh are asleep." Carol said warmly.
