Somebody To Die For
Chapter 33
Lily looked at them then and smiled sadly. "You do know what this means, Bailey?" she asked quietly, as she cleaned off her stomach. "Giving birth to one child was going to be hard on your body, but three is near impossible. We're going to have to do a caesarean, and even then, there's still a very large chance that something could happen," she said, not wanting to scare her, but making sure she was prepared.
"I know and I'm ready to do whatever it takes." Bailey said rubbing her stomach and she felt three kicks and placed Daryl's hand over her bump.
He smiled tearfully as he felt the kicks and smiled lovingly at her bump as he kissed it and looked at Lily.
"What can I do?"
"I'm afraid there's nothing you can do, Mr Dixon," Lily said with a faint smile. "Bailey's body just isn't up to giving birth to three children."
"Can I stay with her, when she gives birth?" He asked holding Bailey's hand tightly.
Lily looked at him and sighed. "I'm sorry, I don't know if that will be possible. We're going to need our full medical team with her to take care of the three babies, and be here if anything goes wrong. You'll be able to stay close by though, and Bailey won't be conscious anyway, so she won't be aware of her surroundings."
Daryl nodded sadly and Bailey rubbed his shoulder gently as he leaned into her and held her to him tightly as Lily watched sadly.
"We've discussed it and after the triplets are born and if I survive, I'll have the hysterectomy." Bailey said softly.
Lily nodded in understanding. "I think that's a wise decision, Ms Greene," she said with a small smile. "Take care of yourself until the birth. If you suffer from any pain or discomfort, please let me know as soon as possible."
Bailey nodded. "I will, don't worry."
Lily nodded and walked them out as Daryl helped her into the truck and she held his hand tightly as they drove back home.
"Are you angry at me?" She asked softly.
Daryl looked at her and squeezed her hand a little. "Nah, course I ain't. Why would I be mad at ya?" he asked.
"Because of the triplets and I'm so sorry Daryl, for being selfish." She sobbed and he held her tightly to him as she cried.
"Hey, I ain't mad at ya," he assured her. "That's my three beautiful girls in there, and them are their mama are gonna be just fine."
"Little Peggy, Lara and Charlotte." She said smiling softly as they pulled in the house and got out and headed inside.
"How did it go?" Carol asked kindly along with Patricia.
Bailey gave her a small smile as she took her jacket off. "We're having triplets, same as Anna," she said quietly. "Three girls."
"But?" Hershel asked gently as they all sat down in the living room and had some food.
"I'll have to have a c-section." She said softly.
"And there's a chance something could go wrong during the c-section," she added with a faint smile at everyone else.
"We'll all be there to support you," Merle said in reassurance, as he rubbed her arm.
Bailey shook her head. "Sorry guys, Daryl is the only person supposed to be there. And he's not allowed in the room either."
"So you'll be on your own through the birth?" Anna asked upset and Bailey nodded sadly as a sad laugh escaped.
"My own fault for being so selfish, mean." She said as tears trailed down her cheeks.
"No, it's not," Maggie said softly as she rubbed her back. "It's not your fault for wanting a family, wanting to be happy. We all wanted that for you."
Bailey nodded sadly and Daryl took her upstairs as everyone watched on sadly and Will sighed heavily.
"Has Bailey had any complications during Dean and Rayland's births?"
Hershel shook his head. "No, they went pretty well. But that was before she had the surgery to get her appendix removed," he added.
Will sighed heavily as his heart went out to Daryl and Bailey who both just simply wanted a family together.
Daryl and Bailey had tucked the children into bed and were now sitting on the bed, holding hands as they looked through photos.
They smiled as they seen one of Aoife taking her first steps and Bailey sighed sadly. "Where has the time gone? They've grown up so fast, all of them."
"They're good kids, look at her taking her first steps and Dean talking, Rayland talking and walking, them with the group." He said holding her tightly.
"I should never have married Dave." She said sighing sadly.
Daryl kissed her forehead gently. "But ya had no reason not to at the time. Ya didn't know what was gonna happen."
"We were so young then." She said feeling her eyes burn with fresh tears as she clutched his hand tightly and he held her tightly to him as she cried.
"I might not see them after the birth, Dean and Rayland getting married, having kids, us getting married." She sobbed.
"Ya will, darlin'," he assured her as he stroked her hair. "Yer gonna live to see all that, I promise ya that."
"But you can't be sure," she whispered sadly.
"No I can't be but I'm gonna do my damn best." He assured her and she wiped her eyes with her hand and gave him a soft smile as she felt a light kick.
"Here feel."
Bailey lifted Daryl's hand and placed it on her stomach where he felt a few small kicks against his hand. "Hey, my girls," he said softly as he rubbed her stomach gently.
"I wonder what they're thinking, I hope they're alright." She said and suddenly she buried her face into his neck.
"Make love to me, please?"
Daryl smiled as he kissed her softly, and his hand wandered over her stomach. She moaned as he continued further down and he slid two fingers into her, making her hips buck against him. He slid his fingers in and out as she squirmed in pleasure, and tried to get closer to him, her large bump in the way. "Daryl... Please don't stop." He leaned down to kiss her hard, as he sucked her tongue into his mouth, and caressed it with his own. "Right there," she panted as she used her hips to guide him.
She bit down on her lip to stifle her moans, as his thumb found her swollen nub and ran over it, sending shocks of pleasure flooding through her body. She cried out as he applied more pressure, and she could feel the tension building and building until she almost exploded. Little fireworks went off behind her eyelids as she tossed her head back, and she came violently around Daryl's fingers, which he didn't slow down his speed with. She lay heavily against the bed, panting and shaking. That had been the best stress relief ever.
She barely had time to recover from her first orgasm, before she felt Daryl position himself above her and slide his hard length into her, earning another gasp from her lips. She was so sensitive and the tiniest movement had her moaning out his name. Immediately, she shifted around to adjust to the feeling and began to rock her hips against his. She felt him so deep inside her, as his length pounded into her again, again, as they both lost themselves in each other, focusing on one another's pleasure, rather than worries or anything else. They kissed whatever part of each other was closest to them, and Bailey ran her hands up Daryl's back as he picked up his speed, just wanting to be close to her and feel her.
He thought about if something went wrong when she was giving birth, and how he would never be able to feel her like this anymore, it made his heart ache, and he picked up his speed, with need and desperation.
When her second climax hit her. She bit into his shoulder to keep her moans quiet, as she felt her legs begin to tremble. It was almost unbearable, the intensity of the pleasure. She wanted to scream his name, feeling like her insides were on fire, as she reached an unbelievable high. Daryl felt her walls clamp down around him, and let out a loud groan, as he lost control and began to empty himself into her.
He dug his hands into her hips, as they reached their release together, making it even more pleasurable for them both. He shuddered in her arms and she released his shoulder from her teeth, moaning when his warmth filled her and his hips continued to thrust into her desperately, until he was empty, and he collapsed down beside her in satisfaction.
"I love you, so much Daryl, don't ever forget that." She said kissing him tenderly and he smiled at her lovingly.
"I won't ever forget ya."
"You better not," Bailey said with a sad laugh as she stroked his chest. "Or I'll come back and haunt your ass."
"Ya aint gonna die, ya gonna live and yer gonna see all of our lili uns live." He told her as he rubbed her bump gently.
"I wish Celia had been yours." Bailey said softly.
"I wish she had too," Daryl said softly as he pulled her into him and she curled up against his chest. "But we're gonna have three beautiful girls, and you're gonna be here to watch them grow up. We got so much to look forward to; it ain't yer time to go yet."
"I know, I love you so much Daryl." She said falling asleep against his chest and Daryl waited a while before looking at the window.
"Please god, please don't take her or the kids away from me." He prayed.
He kissed her forehead softly, as he pulled her as tight against him as he could without hurting her, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
The next morning Bailey woke up to see that Daryl was already up and she got up and pulled on some underwear as she pulled on a dress with some tights.
"Mama." Rayland asked cuddling her legs.
"What is it, sweetheart?" she asked as she stroked his soft hair and crouched down to him.
"I love you and I promise, I'll take care of my baby sisters." He assured her and she felt so moved by that as she picked him up.
"I love you, Rayland Hershel William Dixon." She said cuddling him close.
"Love you too mama," he said as he held onto her tightly, snuggling into her and his blanket.
"I don't know what I'd do without you all," Bailey said softly.
"I love you all so very much, never forget that." She said as she saw Beth coming over and she simply hugged her tightly.
"It's not fair." Beth sobbed.
Bailey rubbed her back gently. "Don't worry about it Beth," she said softly. "You and Merle have a wonderful family too; you just take care of them."
"But I want you to be there to see your nieces and nephews grow up." Beth sobbed and Bailey hugged her tighter as Rayland cuddled into them.
"I'll be watching over them." She said softly.
"Ya ain't gonna die, sis," Merle said with a soft smile as he hugged her. "Ya and my baby brother got lots to look forward to, an' I know yer gonna fight."
"I know but you'll promise me that you, Will and Patricia, Carol and Rick will look after him and Anna?" She asked softly.
Patricia nodded. "Of course we will, sweetheart, but you'll be here and we won't need to. I know you two will grow old together. In fifty years time the two of you will still be sitting out on the deck of the lake-house, with your false teeth in," she said with a soft laugh.
Bailey laughed at that and hugged them all as they headed into the living room and she smiled warmly when she saw Dean running over with Aoife.
"Mama how old is everyone?" He asked softly.
Bailey thought about it for a minute. "Well son, after my birthday, I'm probably around twenty eight or so," she said with a small smile.
"I'm older than yer mama by three years." Daryl said as he sat beside her and their children as everyone looked on.
"How old are you, Pa?" Dean asked.
"Thirty one," Daryl said softly, as Dean sat on his lap. "Yer Uncle Merle is thirty six," he added.
"And Aunt Beth is twenty three," Merle said with a smile as he squeezed Beth's hand.
Rayland looked at Daryl and laughed. "You're old, dada," he smirked, making Daryl scowl at him in amusement.
"Your uncle Rick is thirty six years old and Anna is thirty one years old, Carol is forty one, Patricia is forty two, Grandpa Hershel is fifty one." Bailey said smiling.
"What about Aunt Maggie, Uncle Glenn and Grandpa Will, Carl and Sophia?" Aoife asked intrigued.
"Aunt Maggie is twenty six, Uncle Glenn is twenty seven, Carl is sixteen and Sophia is fourteen," Bailey said softly.
"An' Grandpa Will is fifty eight," Daryl added,
"That's old." Dean said as he cuddled into his parents.
"What are the triplet's names?"
Daryl smiled at him. "Charlotte, Lara and Peggy Dixon," he said as he looked at his dad, who smiled back at him.
"Do they have middle names, mama?" Aoife asked.
"Well, Charlotte has Essie and Celia in her name," she said softly.
"That's a pretty middle name, what about the other two?" Aoife asked and Daryl smiled at her softly.
"Lara has Maggie Andrea Beth Dixon; Peggy has Carol Anna Patricia Dixon." He said softly and Carol smiled at him moved.
"Thank you, the two of you," Carol said softly as she hugged them both.
"Ain't gotta thank us," Bailey smiled. "You're family, all of you."
"You're gonna see your children grow up and have a lovely family." She said happily as they all made their way to the table when they heard knocking on the door.
"I'll get it." Bailey offered.
Bailey went to open the door, her hand protectively over her stomach. She was shocked to find the two kids from the prison looking at her. "Uh... Hi... what are you two doing here?" she asked confused.
"We were attacked by a group and all of them got killed, Lee and Kenny managed to drive us here before they turned." Duck explained.
"Please help us."
"Why should we help them?" Merle snapped as he looked between the two children. "Their people used us to help take out Woodbury and then kicked us out."
"Merle, it wasn't their fault, they're just kids," Bailey said softly. "Come on in, you two. Carl and Sophia and Penny and Duane are here."
They both nodded gratefully and followed her into the living room where the others were and before Rick could speak, Duck spoke.
"We won't stay long, we'll just stay the night and leave, we don't wanna cause any trouble to any of ya'll." He said quickly and looked frightened of Rick.
Rick shook his head. "No, we can't have that, it's not safe for the two of you out there," he said firmly. "You're both welcome to stay with us. Don't mind Merle, he just didn't like Allen much, that's all."
They both nodded timidly and allowed Carol and Patricia to take them upstairs when Daryl looked worriedly at Bailey.
"Did they say what happened?"
Bailey nodded as she wrapped her arms around her stomach. "They said something about some group attacking them."
"Well they sure as fuck aint attacking us." Daryl growled as the front door was kicked open and soldiers had stormed the house.
"EVERYONE ON THEIR FUCKING KNEES!" A man yelled enraged.
Bailey looked at Daryl worriedly and he pulled her into him along with the kids.
"We said on your knees!" the man growled, and everyone quickly got down.
"Who are ya?" Daryl snapped. "What do ya want?"
"We want half of your ammo and a little chat with Rick Anthony Grimes, my sister's ex husband." A dark haired man said coldly.
Rick stood up and glared at him. "Whatever you want to say it, go ahead. But you're not having our ammo," he growled.
"Is that any way to treat your ex brother in law, Rick?" The man asked coldly and Rick narrowed his eyes as he realised who the man was.
"Heath?" He asked calmly.
"In the flesh," Heath replied as his men stood beside him, looking around the group. "I'm looking for my sister; don't suppose y'all have seen her?"
"I'm sorry Heath; she died a couple of months ago." Rick said calmly and Heath stilled as grief and fury ran through him.
"How'd she die?" He asked calmly.
Rick looked over at Daryl and swallowed. "She uh.. she got bit by walkers. She turned, and we had to put her down," he said firmly.
"I have a feeling you're lying to me, Rick." Heath said as he circled around Anna who was holding Matthew, Tom and Becky with Judith beside her.
"Who's this?" He asked looking at her carefully.
"This is Anna," he said quietly. "She's my wife. Lori and I got divorced, she was with Shane when she died, not me," Rick answered. "I didn't see her around much."
Heath suddenly grabbed Rick by the collar of his shirt and pinned him to the wall as Anna tried to help him along with the others.
"You are fucking lying Rick; T-Dog told me that you killed Lori!" He snarled and kicked Rick in the chest, making him gasp in pain.
"I think I need to teach you a lesson." Heath said coldly.
"Get the fuck offa him!" Merle snarled as he closed in on the men. One of them grabbed him and held a gun to his head, "Whoa! Whoa! Easy man."
Everyone watched desperate and helpless as Heath continued to beat Rick in front of them.
Heath kicked Rick repeatedly in the chest, back, head and stomach. He smiled when he saw how battered he looked.
"Bring his little whore over here, Allen!" He called out and Allen dragged Anna away from the others as she was dumped in front of Rick.
"Rick?" she asked desperately, checking him for a response. "Oh god, Rick, what the hell have they done to you? You don't deserve this."
Rick didn't respond and Anna watched as Heath grabbed half of their ammo and left smirking at them as he drove off with his men.
"Daryl, my waters have broke." Bailey said gasping.
"Fuck," Daryl cursed as he hurried to help Anna onto the sofa with Rick, before going back to Bailey. "We gotta get ya to the CDC."
"Go on, we'll take care of things here," Merle said as Anna and Hershel checked over Rick and pressed a cloth to his wounds.
"He's unconscious," Hershel said as he put down some pillows to make him comfortable.
"Hold on Rick, please." Anna said as she placed some bandages on his badly bleeding arms when he groaned in pain.
Daryl helped Bailey into the truck as they drove to the CDC with her breathing in and out.
She hoped and prayed that her babies would be alright, and the three of them would all survive.
"He's stable, he's pretty badly beaten though," Anna said as she went downstairs and joined the others after leaving Rick in bed. "Who the hell was that group?"
"Well, I seen Allen," Tomas pointed out. "And they said something about Lori's brother."
"His name was Heath; he said that T-Dog had told him the truth about what had happened to Lori and Shane." Glenn said worried.
"Great another group who want us dead." Merle said annoyed as they all sat down and thought of their two family members.
"I hope mama's alright." Aoife said worried.
"We didn't even wish her good luck," Will said quietly, as he had a sinking feeling in his stomach. "Hell, what if that was the last time we see her alive."
Dean's bottom lip began to tremble, and Merle pulled him into him. "Come on pa, let's not talk about that."
"You think that group will be back?" Morgan asked. "Or if it was the same one who attacked the prison?"
"If it was, we better be ready for those bastards." Merle said firmly as everyone sat in silence and Anna went upstairs to check on Rick.
She quietly went into their room and gently took his hand as his chest rose and fell quietly, she kissed him softly.
"Rick?" she asked softly, as she ran her hand over the sore spots on his chest. "Can you hear me? Please wake up. We need you here in case something happens."
Rick didn't answer and she took a deep breath before burying her face into his neck and started to sob, her arms holding him tightly.
"Come on, Rick, come back," she sniffled as she stroked his hair, hoping he would fight this, and be back with them soon.
"I love you, the kids love you." She said kissing his cheek.
"Alright, Bailey, let's get you onto the bed," Lily said as they helped her out of her clothes and into a surgical nightgown, as another contraction tore through her, making her grab onto Quinn who was next to her.
"Fuck, sorry," she groaned.
"It's alright, don't worry." He assured her as Daryl sat beside her and she clutched his hand tightly as another contraction ran through her.
"I have to push, I have to push." She gasped sweating.
"Bailey, you can't," Lily warned her, as they got her comfortable on the bed. "You do that and you're going to bleed out, you understand?"
Lawson set up the medical tools and got some incubators ready for the babies, before looking at Daryl. "Mr Dixon, you need to go now. We'll let you know when we're done."
Daryl nodded and leaned over Bailey who looked pale with sweat over her forehead but she looked so beautiful.
"I love you, so much Daryl." She said tracing his face.
"I love ya too," Daryl said softly, "And I'll see ya soon, alright?" he asked, and she nodded weakly as Quinn took him out of the room.
"Alright Bailey, we're going to give you the anaesthetic now," Howard said gently.
"Ok." Bailey said weakly as she felt an oxygen mask being placed over her face as she slowly fell asleep and Lily waited until she was completely asleep so could perform the surgery.
She cut carefully over Bailey's stomach and saw blood ooze out.
Lawson used a suction machine to take away as much of the blood as possible, as Howard prepared the stitches. Lily made the incision, and set her tools down at the side. "Alright then, let's get these girls out, shall we?"
They both nodded and soon Lily had cut the umbilical cord around the first baby who cooed happily and squirmed as she handed her to a nurse then the second one.
"Alright, let me just get you out of there little lady," Lily smiled as she reached into Bailey's stomach for the second baby, before she felt something warm and wet all over her hands, noticing Bailey was bleeding quickly. "Damnit, I need some help here, NOW!"
Lawson hurried over as he suctioned out the blood and she managed to get out the second baby but the third was coming out as Bailey started to bleed heavily and the monitors beeped heavily around them.
"She's losing blood!"
"We need to get the last baby out of there!" Lily said quickly, "Otherwise none of the two of them are going to survive," she said as she reached in cautiously, and eased the baby out, blood covering her arms and clothes. "We need to stop the bleeding, and we need to do the hysterectomy now. We have Bailey's consent, and we need to do it now, there would be too much of a risk opening her up again."
Lawson nodded and with her help, they both managed to get the bleeding under control and performed the hysterectomy successfully on her as they cleaned up the babies.
"She's stable and healthy and so are the babies." Howard said smiling pleased.
Daryl looked up at the sky and let out a breath of relief. "Thank god," he said softly. "Can I see them?"
Howard nodded. "She's still unconscious, but you can see your daughters. We're going to keep the fou of them in here for a couple of days," he added quietly. "To keep them under observation. Bailey haemorrhaged again, and we want to make sure there's no internal bleeding we're unaware of. You can come and pick them up when they're ready."
Daryl nodded at him. "Thank you, for saving my woman and kids." He said moved as Howard showed him to a room where his daughters were.
"You have three healthy daughters." Lily told him pleased and he smiled softly at that as he moved to where his three daughters were.
He walked to where they were and felt tears come to his eyes as he saw his and Bailey's daughters cooing at him as they looked up at him.
"Hello, little sweethearts."
He reached out to stroke their hair, Peggy had his lighter hair and his eyes, but Charlotte and Lara looked like Bailey. "Christ, the three of ya are so perfect, ain't ya? I can't wait to take ya home to meet yer brothers an' sister an' the rest of yer family."
They cooed at him and Peggy grabbed his thumb, she sucked it happily and saw Bailey stirring from the bed.
"Hey there."
Daryl smiled as he set down Peggy and walked over, sitting down in a chair beside the bed. "Hey, sweetheart," he said softly. "How are ya feelin'?"
"Tired, a bit sore but so happy that our daughters are ok." Bailey said with a happy smile, she felt like her heart had been mended by this man and the others.
"Can we hold them?"
Lily wheeled over the cribs they had been placed into. "Why don't we let Daryl hold them for you?" she asked softly, as she handed Peggy and Lara over to him, and Lily picked up Charlotte. "We don't want you to move around too much right now, you haemorrhaged again," she explained, as they both moved to where Bailey would be able to see her daughters.
"Alright, that's fine." Bailey said warmly and she smiled tearfully as she saw her first born daughter smile at her happily.
"Hey there, Charlotte." She said feeling tears slide down her cheeks and stroked Charlotte's dark brown hair gently.
"She looks like you, Daryl." She said kissing him.
Daryl smiled at her. "I think Charlotte and Lara got yer looks. Little Peggy here got mine, lucky girl, eh?"
Bailey chuckled as she said hello to Peggy and Lara. "They're beautiful."
"They're our little Dixon girls." Daryl said kissing her gently as Bailey said hello to each of them happily and smiled.
"Thank you." She said softly and then looked at Lily with a warm smile.
"Thank you."
"You don't have to thank us," Lily said with a smile. "We're going to look after you and the girls for a couple of days. But Mr Dixon, you should think about leaving soon. It's starting to get dark outside,"
Bailey squeezed his hand gently. "You go on and keep the family safe. They need you, especially after what happened to Rick."
Daryl nodded and kissed her lovingly then the girls as he got up and left as Bailey waved him good bye and watched him drive away.
"Ya'll gonna love your family." She told Lara, Charlotte and Peggy lovingly.
She watched Lily give them each a bottle of formula, and set them down in the cribs for the night, before she rolled over and tried to get comfortable, drifting off to sleep.
Daryl had arrived at the house and had a shit eating grin on his face as he went inside the living room and everyone looked at him worriedly.
"Bailey's alright and so are Lara, Charlotte and Peggy Dixon!" He yelled happily.
Will got up and hugged him tightly. "Thank god!" he said with a wide smile, as everyone else got up to congratulate him. "Where are they?"
"They need to stay in the CDC for a few days to recover," he explained. "Bailey haemorrhaged again and had the hysterectomy, but they managed to get her fixed up alright."
"Oh I am so happy for you two." Anna said hugging him tightly along with Carl, Judith and James as Tom, Alistair and Becky cooed.
"Thank ya, how's Rick?" He asked worried.
"He's still unconscious," Anna said quietly, as Carl squeezed her hand. "You want to go see him?" she asked, and Daryl nodded and he followed her up to their room.
He headed inside and winced when he saw how battered Rick looked with a black eye, a cut to the forehead and bruises on his chest.
"Rick man, can ya hear me?" He asked gently.
Rick was breathing steadily but didn't seem to have much life as Daryl sat down next to him. "Christ, they really went at ya, didn't they?"
"Bailey gave birth to three healthy girls, ya gonna meet them when they come home." He assured his friend who didn't answer and he sighed sadly.
"C'mon Rick, we need ya."
Anna took his hand and gave Daryl a small smile. "We've just been talking to him as normal, Hershel says he can hear our voices and will hopefully come around."
"He's survived being shot, stabbed and shot, he can survive this." He said praying he would as he headed downstairs to where Dean, Aoife and Rayland were.
"So we have three baby sisters?" He asked delighted.
"Ya sure do, kiddo," Daryl said happily as he sat down on the sofa and hugged the three of them. "Charlotte, Peggy and Lara Dixon."
"Cool, I can call Charlotte, Charlie." Aoife said happily and Judith smiled at them all happily, her dimple showing softly.
"Aunty Bailey's alright?"
"She's not bad, sweetheart," Daryl said as he ruffled her hair. "She just needs to stay with the doctors a few days and get better and all."
"I'm so happy for you two." Carol told them warmly and they all hugged each other tightly while Anna smiled softly and went to join Rick.
She lay down beside him and touched his face gently. "Rick? If you can hear me, please wake up."
Rick didn't answer and she started to sob into his neck, her hand gripping his tightly.
If you don't come back for me, then come back for the kids," she begged. "For Carl, for Judy, for James, for the triplets. Please."
Rick didn't move for a moment but groaned in pain and looked at her through blurry eyes and cupped her face.
"Anna?"
"Rick?! Rick, it's me!" she said happily, as she checked him over quickly. "Can you hear me?"
"What happened?" Rick asked weakly.
"You got beaten up," Anna explained. "You were in a coma, we thought you weren't coming back to us!"
"I feel like I've been run over, is everyone alright? Are you and the kids alright?" Rick asked worriedly as she helped him sit up and the others ran in.
"Dad!"
"I'll take that as a yes then," Rick laughed weakly as he hugged his kids tightly. "What about that group? Did they get away?"
Anna nodded. "They seemed pretty satisfied at how bad you were beaten and they left. But they took half our ammo."
"Is everyone else alright?" He asked holding her hand tightly and Anna smiled softly at him as Daryl walked in and hugged them all.
"Bailey and the triplets are alright."
"She had them?" Rick asked shocked as he hugged Daryl back and looked around.
Anna nodded. "They're at the CDC. We're so glad you're OK," she said as she held onto him for dear life.
"Told you I wouldn't leave any of you." Rick said smiling and everyone smiled as they headed downstairs when Duck spoke.
"Allen betrayed the group." He said sadly.
Merle scoffed. "Believe me kid, that don't surprise me at all. What about his son, Ben, was it? What happened to him?"
"One of the men put him in the arena and he got bit trying to get out, Donna had to shot him and she's gone all sad, my mom and dad were shot, Lee and Carly were bit, Lily was killed along the others." Clementine said as tears slid down her face.
"The whole group died."
Carol smiled at them sadly. "We won't let them hurt you anymore," she assured her.
"Christ am I glad I got outta there when I did," Tomas muttered quietly.
"Amen to that." Oscar said as they all sat down and ate dinner quietly when Aoife looked at Daryl shyly.
"What do they look like?" She asked softly.
"Yer little sisters?" Daryl asked and Aoife nodded. "Well, uh... They look like yer mama," he said with a smile.
"But Peggy looks me with the hair." He said smiling lovingly and the kids smiled at him happily as they all snuggled into him.
"Can we all see mama and the babies?" Rayland asked softly.
Daryl ruffled his hair gently. "You'll see them when they come home in a couple of days son, mama just has to rest first."
"Alright pa." Rayland said cuddling into him and Will smiled fondly at them as he and Patricia watched with smiles on their faces.
"Does that mean me and Rose are an aunt and uncle?" Dylan asked pleased.
Daryl nodded. "Sure does," he said softly.
Everyone finished up dinner, and helped wash up. "Why don't we all go and get some sleep?" Hershel suggested.
They all nodded and headed upstairs to get some rest with Rayland, Dean and Aoife cuddling into Daryl as they got under the sheets.
"We love you pa." Dean said softly.
"I love ya'll too and so does yer mama." Daryl said holding them tightly as they all soon fell asleep with each other.
The next morning Anna smiled as she helped Rick up, and managed to wrap his arm around her shoulder and get him downstairs.
"Hey there!" Glenn smiled when they made it to the kitchen. "S'good to see you up."
"It's good to be moving around." Rick said smiling as Daryl came down looking happy as he smiled at them all warmly.
"Lily radioed me saying that Bailey and the girls can come today if she tkes it easy." He said pleased and everyone smiled warmly.
"Oh I can't wait to see her and the girls." Carol said happily.
Anna helped Carol make breakfast as everyone else came down and sat at the kitchen table to eat.
"How are you Rick?" Hershel asked. "No head pains, confusion, fuzziness, anything like that?"
"Nothing aside from the fact that my back is killing me." He said rubbing his back and Carl smiled at him but spoke firmly.
"You should take it easy."
Rick nodded at him. "I will, don't you worry son. I imagine your mom won't let me do anything too strenuous."
"I know she won't." He said and headed outside to take watch with Duane.
Anna spent the afternoon cleaning up the house with Carol as she watched Rick out the window. "He should be resting in bed, not taking watch," she said with a sigh.
"You know he only wants to help, sweetie." Carol said gently and Anna nodded with a sigh as she looked at Rick who was talking to Morgan.
"I know I just don't want to lose him." She said sadly.
Carol smiled at her and rubbed her arm. "I'm pretty sure nothing can kill Rick," she laughed.
Anna gave her a faint smile. "I hope not."
Carol rubbed her arm as Rebecca snuggled into her and cooed while Tom and Matthew were outside playing with the other children when she felt something wet on her chest and looked down stunned.
"Mama?" Rebecca asked scared.
