Somebody To Die For

Chapter 37

Will smiled and hugged him. "That's great news, son," he said softly. "I'm glad I have ya back now, I know ya hated me for what I did to ya, I deserved it."

"I know and I forgive ya really I do." Daryl said hugging him as they drove back to the house and Rose curled into them as she slowly fell asleep.

"She's exhausted." Patricia said softly.

"She's been through a lot, nothing a kid that age should have to go through," Will said as he stroked her hair. "She's safe now, though."

Anna nodded. "She'll just take some time to get back to her own self."

Will nodded and kissed Rose's forehead as they pulled up at the house and went into the house when they saw a letter on the table.

"There's a letter on the table." Anna said as she went to pick it up.

"What does it say?" Carl asked curious.

"That they have a cure," Anna said shocked as she read through it. "It's from the CDC. They want to meet us at their base."

"The one where Quinn works?" Maggie asked.

Anna shook her head. "No, I don't think so."

"It's near Atlanta." Rick said reading it as they heard knocking on the door and Bailey opened it to see it was Lily with Quinn.

"I see you all got the letter about the cure?"

Rick nodded. "Yes, we did. Is it true?" he asked confused, as he stood near Anna. "Do we need to go there?"

"Yes you all need to get the vaccine and so do the children." Lily explained as everyone headed to where the cars were.

"People will be coming back to the city soon." She added.

"You mean we could start moving back in again? Into the houses, into the city?" Carol asked surprised. "Start working again, schools, that sort of thing?"

Lily nodded. "It won't be exactly like it was, but it will be a start. We need doctors, vets, police, that sort of thing, so you guys would be useful to have around."

Everyone nodded as they drove to the CDC and got out as a soldier led them to a room where a doctor was along with a police officer.

"Alright so we'll call you out along with your family!" The man said and everyone nodded as people started to be called out.

"Dixon!"

"Which one of us?" Will asked as he looked at them.

"William," the man answered. Will stepped forward along with Dylan and Rose, who dragged Patricia along with them. They each got the injection and sat down on a chair to wait on the others.

"Grimes?" Rick and Anna stepped forward, with Carl, Judith and James, while each of them held one of the triplets.

"Please go easy on them," Anna said softly as she held her toddlers while they were injected.

"We will don't worry." The man assured her as they injected the needle and pulled it out as the triplets cooed happily when the man called out.

"Greene!" He called out and Hershel stepped forward along with Peter who both got their injections and watched.

"Carter?!" The man called out, "Dave Carter and Bailey Carter?!"

Bailey glared at the man. "It's not Carter, its Greene," she said flatly as she walked forward to get her injection. "And Dave is dead, he doesn't need an injection. I wouldn't have wasted one on him anyway," she said bitterly.

The man raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. "Rhee?" he asked, as Glenn, Maggie and the twins went to get their injections, along with Katy and Emma.

Soon they had finished giving out the vaccinations and were guided into another room where they greeted by another man who asked what their jobs had been.

"I was a children's nurse." Bailey said quietly as she rocked Lara in her arms.

"I was a mechanic." Daryl said as he watched Bailey worriedly.

"I was a vet," Hershel said with a smile, as Emma grinned over at him.

"I was a Sheriff," Rick said, and the men looked at each other impressed.

"And I was training to become a doctor," Anna said softly.

"I was studying to be a children's nurse." Beth said smiling as Merle rubbed her shoulder and they all smiled warmly.

"Alright then, just to let ya'll know there will be a party to celebrate the discovery of the cure and it will be held at Ronson Hall." The man said warmly.

"The dress code is tuxedos and ball gowns." A woman added as another woman with striking resemblance to Lori came in.

"Where is my daughter?"

Rick froze as he recognized her as Lori's mother. He stood up and cleared his throat.

"Mrs Ronson," he said softly, as he gave her a small smile and she half glared at him.

"I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you... Lori was killed by walkers some time ago now," he said calmly.

"Lori's dead?" Chelle choked shocked at the fact that she had lost her daughter to those horrible monsters.

"I'm afraid so, I'm so sorry." Rick said as Anna rubbed his arm and Chelle glared at her with hard eyes.

"Where's Shane?"

"Shane was also killed," Rick said quietly. "I'm afraid to tell you he was killed by a group we ran into, they were bad men," he said with a calm expression.

"I see what about Carl?" She asked looking around for the grandson she barely knew because of how Lori had married when her family had told her not to.

"I'm here." Carl said coldly.

"And who are these people?" she asked as she looked around.

"These are my family," Rick said with a small smile. "This is my new wife, Anna, we married after Lori died," he lied. "And our kids."

"Yes I remember Anna and the little incident you two had before you married Lori." Chelle said as she walked out of the room and Carl looked at them comfortingly.

"She's a bitch." He said firmly.

"Bailey can I talk to ya?" Daryl asked softly.

Bailey nodded as she rocked Lara while Peggy and Charlotte played at her feet with the other kids. "What is it?" she asked.

"Will ya marry me?" He asked praying she would say yes as she looked at him in shock when he pulled out a black velvet box showing a beautiful ring.

Bailey swallowed as she looked at him, with memories of her wedding to Dave coming flooding back to her. "Daryl... you don't have to," she said quietly as everyone looked at her. "I don't want to ruin things, we're fine as we are, aren't we?"

"We are but I wanna make ya my wife, my old lady." He said holding her close and she licked her lips as a tearful smile bloomed across her face.

"Then in that case, yes I will marry you." She said happily.

Daryl smiled as he pulled her into a hug, as everyone else smiled softly at them.

The man came back into the room. "We'd like to interview you all, find out what positions we think you'd be best in."

"Alright." Rick said as they were all taken into rooms to be interviewed and Daryl was taken into a room where he met a man.

"So Daryl you worked as a mechanic?" Jeff asked.

Daryl nodded. "Yeah, just basic mechanics and stuff. I weren't exactly a professional, but it paid the bills with what I did. Merle and I worked together."

Jeff nodded. "You two could work on the vehicles and buildings."

"That's fine just as long as I get to stay with my family." Daryl said as they let him leave and headed into the room where he saw Bailey talking to two women along with Carol, Beth, Maggie and Patricia, Anna was there as well.

"So you all have medical experience?" The woman who had introduced herself as Chloe asked.

Anna nodded. "I'm a doctor. I never quite finished my training, but I was almost fully qualified. The end of the world stopped me getting my degree."

"We've all learned as we went along," Maggie explained. "People get hurt a lot these days, you get some knowledge."

"Then in that case all of you will be working with the hospitals near your house." Chloe told them warmly as Carl came back with the other kids.

"We don't have to go to school anymore." He said happily.

"We're going to train them up," Chloe said with a small smile as she looked at them. "You'll all play a part in the new community."

Everyone nodded in agreement as Rick came back in looking relived and smiled at Anna as Tom climbed up on his lap.

"You can now go home folks." Quinn said smiling.

Rick nodded in thanks. "When is this all going to happen? Moving back into the city, starting work and everything?"

"Probably in a couple of weeks," Quinn replied as they got into their cars. "We'll get in contact with you nearer the time."

Rick nodded as they all drove back to the estate and started to plan Daryl and Bailey's wedding happily with Carol, Patricia doing the cake.

"We'll need to get you a wedding dress." Carol said smiling.

Bailey shook her head quickly. "No, please Carol," she said quietly. "I don't want a dress or a cake or anything like that. I've done all that before and let's just say it didn't have a good ending. Nothing big."

"Bailey, Daryl's not Dave, sweetie." Carol comforted her and Bailey smiled at her weakly as they started to cook dinner.

"I know I just don't want to have a big wedding." She said looking at her hands.

"Do you think there's going to be a lot of people in the city?" Anna asked as she prepared some fruit for dessert.

"I don't know, I didn't think there were many other survivors," Maggie said as she sat on the counter. "There must be."

"Maybe they went into other parts of the city." Merle said as he played with Damien and Annette as Beth watched smiling.

Daryl walked over to where Bailey was and took her hand in his as they headed out to where the lake house was.

"Are ya mad at me?" He asked quietly.

Bailey shook her head. "No," she said as she shook her head. "Why would I be?"

"Its just I thought ya be happy about marrying me and I aint Dave Bailey, I love ya so fuckin much." He said holding her hand tightly.

"I know you're not," she said quietly. "It's just... I thought things were fine with Dave too, and then once we got married everything went to shit. I don't like the idea of weddings, that's all," she added, as they went inside and she went to the triplets to give them their bottle.

She fed Lara and Charlotte their bottles and Daryl sat beside her with Peggy feeding from her bottle as she took his hand in hers.

"I didn't mean to upset you." She said feeling upset.

Daryl shrugged. "Don't worry about it, I shouldn't have pushed it," he said with a small smile. "We ain't gotta do it now if ya ain't ready."

Bailey gave him a faint smile, as Carol called everyone in for dinner, and they all went into the kitchen and sat at the table.

Bailey sat down next to him but noticed he kept distant from her and felt upset as she ate her dinner but felt sick as she ate and quickly finished, as soon as Daryl had left to on watch with Merle, she gave it to Dean, Aoife and Rayland as she headed upstairs.

She tucked Lara, Charlotte and Peggy into bed before she ran into the bathroom to be sick, she washed her face and looked at herself in the mirror.

She took a deep breath as she left the bathroom and climbed into bed, cuddling the triplets as she fell asleep.

Anna smiled at Rick as they climbed into bed and snuggled into his chest. "Are you looking forward to it? Going back to the city, and starting work and everything?" she asked softly.

"In a way I am I guess but it'll be strange starting as if nothing happened." He said stroking her hair as they watched the triplets sleep.

"Well I bet a lot of things have changed in the city that's for sure." Anna said as she drank some water.

"It's just the thought, you know, getting up in the morning, putting on my uniform and going to work," he said with a small smile. "It's going to be odd."

"Believe me I know the feeling about wearing my doctor's uniform." Anna said amused as they both drifted off to sleep.

Bailey was up the next morning and watching Daryl sleep quietly as she stroked his hair tenderly, she wanted to marry Daryl but she was frightened of messing it up.

"I love you, Daryl."

She got up and fed the triplets their breakfast before getting dressed and going downstairs. "Hey Mags," she said softly as she watched her cousin try to feed Maria and Josh without them getting food all over the place.

"Hey Bailey, how are you and are you looking forward to being Mrs Dixon?" Maggie asked warmly and Bailey smiled softly.

"I am but I'm scared of ruining it like it happened with Dave." She said sadly.

"You won't ruin it," Maggie assured her. "You love Daryl, and he loves you," she said as she gave Josh a piece of bacon.

Bailey half snorted. "Yeah, but that's what I thought about Dave at first too," she said with a sigh. "Something will go wrong."

"If you keep on thinking like that then something will happen, please Bailey just because your marriage with Dave was horrible doesn't mean that it will be the same with Daryl." Maggie said and Bailey smiled genuinely.

"I'm going to talk to him and tell him." She said running upstairs.

"Hey," she said softly as she walked into their room and found Daryl getting dressed. "I'm sorry about yesterday," she added quietly. "Wedding's just bring back a bad memory, that's all."

He smiled down at her and kissed her gently as they held each other tightly and sat down on the bed as the triplets woke up.

"So how do ya wanna do it?" He asked softly.

Bailey gave him a small smile. "I just want you to be there. No dresses, no cakes, no fuss, nothing like that," she said as the triplets crawled over to them.

"Alright then sweetheart." He said as Lara got up on wobbling legs along with her two younger sisters as Dean, Rayland and Aoife came in.

"Mama, dada, Ray, Ean, Oife." The triplets cooed.

Aoife looked at them and smiled widely. "Look, ma, pa, they're walking!" She said happily as she watched the triplets wobble around the room. "And talking."

Bailey gave her a soft smile, as she ruffled their hair. "They sure are."

"Mama, dada." The triplets cooed with Peggy crawling onto Daryl's and snuggling into him along with the other two as they cuddled into their family.

"I love you all." Bailey said smiling.

"We love ya too, mama," Dean smiled as he held her hand, and they all went back downstairs where the others were sitting.

"We're getting married but we don't want any fuss." Daryl said and everyone smiled happily at them all as they all planned it.

"We'll do your hair and make-up," Beth smiled happily, as the girls planned the bridal things.

"And I still have all those dresses," Anna added.

Bailey shook her head. "No, no hair, make-up or dress. Seriously, guys," she said. "We should probably wait anyway, until we have everything sorted with the CDC and stuff."

"Are you sure you don't want anything big?" Carol asked softly and Bailey nodded as they all sat down in the living room.

"Really, don't worry but we just you all to be there." She said warmly and they all nodded but she saw sadness in Will's eyes.

She thought of Daryl and realised this was his wedding as well.

She looked at Will and gave him a small smile. "Is everything OK?" she asked.

"Everything's fine, don't worry." He assured her and she nodded as she went outside and Daryl followed after her.

"This isn't just my wedding, it's yours too Daryl." She said looking at her ring softly and he pulled her into him.

"I know and I love ya."

"What do you want?" she asked. "If you want a dress, a cake, and whatever, I'll do it for you," she said quietly.

"I just want ya to be there and I want ya to be happy as well, I love you Bailey and that's all that matters." He said holding her close.

Bailey gave him a small smile. "Thank you. As long as you're happy too," she said as she touched his cheek. "We'll work something out."

Daryl tucked a dark brown curl behind her ear and gave her a soft smile as they sat on the porch swing and held hands as the others watched fondly.

"I'm so glad they have each other." Maggie said softly.

"So do we really need to go to this party for finding the cure?" Beth asked with a frown.

"Yeah, where the hell are we supposed to find tuxedos and ball gowns?" Merle asked.

"There's a large boutique in the town with a tuxedo store, I'll show ya'll where it is." Bailey said smiling as she and Maggie along with Beth headed into a car and drove off.

"So Daryl how does it feel to be married?" Will asked softly.

"Ain't married yet," Daryl said quietly, as he pulled the triplets into his lap. "But I'm lookin' forward to it. If she goes through with it," he added as he looked down.

"Why are ya saying that for baby brother?" Merle asked as he sat down next to Daryl and pulled Damien and Annette into his lap.

"She keeps on thinking about her and Dave's wedding." Daryl said sighing.

"But she knows ya ain't Dave," Merle said as he gave him a gentle pat on the back.

Daryl nodded. "Yeah, but she thinks things will go wrong when we get married, like they did with Dave."

"Everyone has arguments in their marriages but that doesn't mean that you and Bailey will." Rick assured him and he nodded.

Bailey, Maggie and Beth had found the boutique and were now grabbing all of the dresses and suits along with shoes and other things when she saw a beautiful white wedding dress with thin straps.

It was the dress she would wear to her and Daryl's wedding.

"We're having a proper wedding." She said firmly with a genuine smile, she wouldn't let Dave ruin her marriage with Daryl.

Beth smiled at her. "You don't need to, sweetie. Daryl understands why you don't want to," she said as she picked up some of the ball gowns for the party.

Bailey shook her head and put the dress in her bag. "I owe it to him to try."

Beth nodded and they all put the gowns and suits into the back of the car with Bailey as they drove back to the house.

"I was wondering you two and the other would be my bridesmaids?" Bailey asked as she twisted her ring around.

"Course we will," Maggie smiled softly, as they reached the house, and Morgan and Tomas let them in. They parked up and took out all the tuxedos and ball gowns they had found, taking them into the sitting room, and laying them out. "Everyone can choose which colours they want," Maggie smiled, as she picked up one of the yellow dresses, and found a matching yellow tie for Glenn.

Glenn laughed as everyone picked out a dress and a suit with Anna picking out a demure black one, frowning.

"I'm not sure what to wear?" She asked Bailey as they picked out the dresses with the others and then saw a white wedding dress.

"That's for mine and Daryl's wedding." Bailey said touching it gently.

Anna looked confused. "You're wearing a wedding dress?" She asked as she touched the soft, silky fabric.

Bailey nodded. "Yeah, I am," she said, before picking up a red dress to wear at the party.

Anna decided to wear a strapless black dress with a pair of black heels to go with it as she took it upstairs and grabbed one of her photo albums.

She flicked through it and smiled softly when she found one of her and Rick on their wedding day with the kids, the next page had the kids all together when the triplets had been born.

She stroked their faces gently and smiled as she heard Rick in the bathroom trying to get the kids ready, with them splashing the water around. She waited until he was done, before smiling at him. "Shall we go and shower then get ready, Mr Grimes?"

"Yes we should." Rick said as he pulled off his shirt and she saw the scars marring his torso, he had been a bit shy about them when they had sex but had quickly gotten over it.

She smiled and pulled off her shirt as Rick saw how slender she looked what with breast feeding the triplets, helping Hershel and everything else.

"Are you OK?" Rick asked as they both stepped under the water and he cuddled her close to him. "You've lost so much weight."

Anna nodded. "I'm fine, just been doing plenty of running around," she said softly. "I'm sure I'll soon put it back on again."

Rick smiled at her as he washed her thick, blonde curls and they simply washed each other when Anna spoke quietly.

"I wonder what they'll do with the walkers." She wondered as she washed his hair and looked at the tattoo of his grim reaper.

"Most of them are probably dying off now," he said softly. "With any luck, anyway," he added with a chuckle.

"I hope that's true." Anna said smiling as everyone went to get ready for the ball when they saw Judith running towards them.

"I don't know how to put this on."

Anna laughed, as she helped Judith into the small black dress that they had picked up for her, and pulled her hair up into a ponytail. "You look like a little princess, Judy," she said softly, as she watched her run off happily, before picking up her dress and looking at Rick.

"Help me put this on?"

"With pleasure." He said and zipped her up as she straightened it out and smiled softly at the colour against her pale skin.

"You look beautiful." He said seriously as he kissed her.

"You look pretty handsome yourself," she said with a smile as she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly, before fixing his tie. "All ready."

"We all are mom." Carl said smiling as he came in looking handsome as he stood beside his siblings and they headed downstairs where the others were.

"Ya look so beautiful Bailey." Daryl said kissing her as she hugged him tightly, the red dress showed off her figure and the colour complimented her skin.

"We all ready to go?" Maggie asked smiling, as one of her hairs which had been curled fell into her eye.

"Pictures first!" Carol said happily.

They all laughed but gathered outside where Carol placed the camera on a rock and it flashed as it took a photo of them all.

"I love you Daryl so much." Bailey said holding him tightly.

"Love ya too," Daryl said as he kissed her lips gently and they all got into the cars, driving to the hall, where everyone else was walking in all dressed up.

"Judith said I could be her date for tonight." Dean said pleased as they all got of the cars and headed towards the main entrance.

"I'm Becky's." Rayland said proudly.

"Damien is Polly's date." Aoife added smiling as she mentioned Carol and Axel's adopted daughter as they headed inside.

"Christ, it's like a fuckin' palace in here," Merle said as he looked around. There were drinks flowing, people dancing, and trays of food being served. "I feel so damn outta place," he mumbled.

Beth laughed as she tugged his hand. "C'mon Merle, let's dance."

Quinn walked over to them all and smiled. "It's nice to see y'all could make it."

"It's good to see you here as well." Rick said shaking his hand as he watched James and Aoife dance as Daryl and Bailey joined them.

"It feels so strange being here." Bailey said as she took Daryl's hand in hers and he smiled at her lovingly.

"Look at Aoife and James." Anna said giggling.

"They're so cute together, aren't they?" Rick laughed as he took Anna's hand and they walked to the dance floor. Rick smiled as he placed his hands on her waist and they swayed gently to the music, Anna's dress flowing around her. "This is unusual, spending time together like this."

"You're telling me, I feel like I'm in a fairytale." Anna said as she danced with Rick and the others got on the dance floor as well.

"Dance with me?" Daryl asked softly and Bailey smiled happily at him as she took his hand tightly and smiled lovingly.

"I'd love too, Daryl."

They both joined the others on the dance floor as the staff passed around glasses of wine, with soda for the kids, who were smiling happily.

Daryl twirled Bailey around happily as they danced and she wrapped her arms around him as it was time to go and everyone's feet were killing them.

"God my feet hurt." Beth said wincing.

Merle laughed as Beth took off her heels and he picked her up, carrying her back to the car, as the kids followed behind, smiling happily.

Quinn said goodbye to them all. "Y'all can start moving into your new houses in the city within the next week or so," he said with a smile.

"Will we all be together though?" Rick asked and Quinn nodded happily.

"You and your group are moving into King County."

Rick nodded as he seen Anna give him a small smile. "Yeah, that sounds good," he said softly. "We'll see you soon."

"Have a good night." Quinn said waving at them all as they all drove off back to the estate and Bailey smiled at Daryl lovingly.

"I love you so much." She said smiling at the fact that her wedding was tomorrow and she would be Daryl's wife.

"You too," Daryl said with a soft smile, as they all went to bed to get some rest.

"Tonight was nice," Carol said softly, as they locked up the house. "It was a change that was for sure."

"It sure was and we have a wedding for tomorrow." Merle said smiling as everyone headed upstairs to bed with Bailey going into her and Daryl's room.

Daryl had gone upstairs after everyone else and saw Bailey trying to take off her dress with no success.

"Let me help ya.

"I'm fine, I got it," she said softly as she took off the zipper and got changed into her nightgown, with the triplets coming in ready for bed and climbing in.

"I'm sorry about being cold towards you about the wedding, I'm looking forward to being your wife and I love you." She said cupping his face tenderly.

"I know," Daryl said with a smile as he kissed her passionately.

"Let me make it up to you," she said softly as she took him into the bathroom away from the triplets. She gently eased him back against the wall and took his sweatpants down, before taking his length into her hand and stroking gently. Daryl moaned and leaned his head on her shoulder as she caressed him with her hands, changing the pressure she was applying, as well as the speed as she ran her hands up and down him. Daryl bit down softly on her neck as he felt his stomach tighten. Bailey leaned up to kiss him gently, as she felt him cum and he let out a small growl, breathing heavily. She gave him a small smile, and cleaned him up.

"Come on, let's go get some sleep," she said as she touched his cheek,

He smiled at her loving how he had his Bailey back and pulled her into him as they both slowly fell sleep holding each other tightly.

The next morning Bailey had a shower as she took out her wedding dress and smiled softly at the dress as it shone in the sunlight.

"Hey Bailey." Carol said warmly.

"Hey Carol," she said softly, as she sat down at her dressing table and looked outside at the rain clouds. "Everything alright?" she asked.

"Everything's fine, are looking forward about getting married?" Carol asked kindly and Bailey smiled warmly.

"I am let's all get ready." She said smiling.

They all nodded happily as they went to get changed into their dresses. Bailey went into the bathroom to put on her dress and looked in the mirror, before she started to panic. She had flashbacks to standing looking into the mirror in her bridal suite before marrying Dave. The dress looked almost identical. "Oh god," she breathed as she closed her eyes and tried to forget about him.

She took deep breaths and calmed down when she saw Maggie come in and hugged her tightly as she tried to calm her down.

"I'm alright, I'm alright." She said smiling weakly.

They went to sit back down in the bedroom. "It's supposed to be the happiest day of your life," Anna said as she handed Bailey a glass of wine. "You aren't very convincing."

"Anna, the last time I did this it was the worst day of my life," she laughed humourlessly.

"But Daryl isn't Dave, Bailey he loves you and the children dearly." Carol said rubbing her hand gently and Bailey nodded as she bit her lip.

"I'm just scared." She admitted.

"You don't have anything to be scared about," Beth said softly. "Honestly."

Bailey nodded reluctantly, as she stood up. "Let's get this over with."

They all nodded as Maggie gave her the bouquet of wildflowers and roses as they all headed outside to where the others were.

Hershel looked up at the sky as he stood beside a fidgety Daryl. "Looks like it's gonna rain soon, son," he said softly as he looked at the bible in his hands.

"Let's just hope we're caught in it." Daryl said as Dean and Rayland gave him warm smiles as they saw Bailey coming over with a warm smile on her face as she reached them with Aoife beside her.

"Hey you look handsome." She said smiling happily at him.

"Ya look beautiful," he said looking down at her in her white dress. He was glad it was him who was marrying her this time. He took her hands as Hershel smiled at them both.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today for the union of Daryl James Dixon and Bailey Isabelle Greene."

"In the years they have been together, their love and understanding of each other has grown and matured, and now they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife," Hershel said softly, as he pulled out his papers and began to read. "True marriage is more than joining the bonds of marriage of two people; it is the union of two hearts. It lives on the love you give each other and never grows old, but thrives on the joy of each new day.

Marriage is love. May you always be able to talk things over, to confide in each other, to laugh with each other, to enjoy life together, and to share moments of quiet and peace, when the day is done? May you be blessed with a lifetime of happiness and a home of warmth and understanding."

"Do you Daryl Matthew Dixon, take Bailey Isabelle Greene to be your wife, promising to love and cherish, through joy and sorrow, sickness and health, and whatever challenges you may face, for as long as you both shall live?

"I do." Daryl said softly and everyone smiled including Bailey who gave him a loving smile.

"Do you Bailey Isabelle Greene, take Daryl James Dixon to be your husband, promising to love and cherish, through joy and sorrow, sickness and health, and whatever challenges you may face, for as long as you both shall live?

Bailey smiled at him. "I do," she said softly.

Hershel smiled at them as Dean brought over the wedding rings, and they each picked one up, before they heard gunshots going off.

"Oh no, not today," Rick whispered as he went pale and looked around. He noticed men closing in around them, and he looked at the faces of each one. They were all cousins or uncles of Lori and her family. "Shit, take cover!" he instructed, sending Daryl an apologetic look.

Daryl nodded and they took cover in parts of the garden as they heard shooting and Anna was just about to run inside the house with Becky when she felt bullets hit her in the shoulder and the back of her stomach as she crumpled to the floor with Becky in her arms who cried out terrified.

Bailey fired her gun at one of the men who crumpled to the floor as she stood beside Daryl who looked majorly pissed.

"On our fuckin wedding day as well." He snarled.

"Anna needs help," Bailey said quickly as she rushed over to her side and crouched down, pressing her hands down over the wounds on her shoulder, blood staining her dress. "Anna? Are you OK? Can you hear me?"

Anna didn't answer and Bailey saw blood trickling down her lips with her body around Becky protectively as the last of the men was killed or injured.

"Anna!" Rick yelled terrified.

Carol picked up Becky, as Rick carried Anna inside, and Hershel and Bailey both hurried over to her. "She needs blood," Hershel said quickly, as he set up an IV drip, and Patricia got stuff ready to stitch up the wounds.

Anna barely responded as Bailey gave blood to her and Rick sat by her side as they Quinn, Catherine and John hurry in looking alarmed.

"What the hell happened?"

"It was Lori's family," Rick explained quietly as he held Anna's hand. "We were all in the garden and they started shooting at us. I could see her cousins there, her uncles. We managed to shoot a couple of them, but the rest got away," he said sadly.

"Well at least Daryl and Bailey are married." Merle said trying to cheer everyone up and they smiled faintly with Bailey curling into Daryl.

"Is mom gonna be alright?" Carl asked worried.

"She's going to be alright, she just needs to recover," Hershel said as he looked at Daryl and Bailey and frowned. "Technically, you two aren't properly married. We didn't get to the exchange of rings, or the declaration of marriage. Would you like to finish the ceremony now?"

Bailey looked down at her bloody dress and the rain outside and shook her head. "There are more important things right now. Let's just help Anna get better."

Daryl nodded and they both went to get changed with Daryl walking out quickly before she could talk to him and sighed sadly, she should spend more time with him.

"I'm sorry Daryl." She whispered feeling her eyes burn as she took off her dress and got changed as she pulled on some jeans and a sweater before going downstairs.

She sat down on the sofa beside Anna. "Any change?" she asked Rick quietly.

Rick shook his head sadly. "No, she's still out."

"She'll make it, she's tough as hell." She comforted him and went to cook dinner as everyone else got changed and cleared up.

"Are ya alright?" Daryl asked quietly as he held Lara in his arms as Peggy and Charlotte played with Matthew, Tom and Becky.

Bailey nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said softly as she chopped up some vegetables. "Are you alright?"

"I'm alright just pissed that those assholes ruined our wedding day." He said as he helped her cook dinner and they let it cook as they headed into the living room.

"Is Anna going to be alright?" Beth asked worried.

Hershel gave her a small smile. "She will be. We stopped the bleeding, and stitched the wounds, and Bailey gave her blood. We just need to wait until she comes around."

"Everyone should get rest." Merle said and they all nodded as they headed up to bed Daryl taking Bailey's hand.

"Come with me to the lake house?"

Bailey nodded. "Sure," she said as she checked the kids.

"Meet me there," he said as he went downstairs to find Hershel. "Hershel, I need ya at the lake house," he said softly. "We're gonna finish this wedding." He said quickly as he hurried out the door and went down to the house, lighting some candles, and setting the rings down on the table.

Hershel stood with him as Bailey came into the lake house and gasped when she saw what Daryl had done.

"Oh it's beautiful."

Sorry for the wait xx
