Notice: Hey, I'm back! Sorry it took me so long to update, but I actually have a legitimate reason for it: Finals for my school is coming up, and the one I had for English was to actually make another fanfiction where I took characters from any move, game, etc., and put them in the Greek tragedy Antigone. As such, all of my writing time has been taken up by that. But now I'm done, so here is the next chapter!

Ch.24 To Find The Light

(Point of View Change: 3rd Person)

Within the last room of the Cave of Wonders, Jafar stood next to Maleficent while the unconscious form of Jasmine was on the ground near them and Genie floated sadly in the air. Behind them was the Keyhole, glowing brightly from being being revealed. Jafar was about to say something when Maleficent's head snapped up, and she looked at entrance. "What is it?" Jafar asked, when suddenly he sensed it as well. "There is someone else here, someone who possesses an incredible level of dark power. And they're coming this way," Maleficent. Jafar nodded, nervous. This power coming towards them was phenomenal; even Maleficent's didn't compare to this. Also, chasing after it was- Maleficent groaned. "That boy again?" she asked.

"He's more persistent than I expected. Why not explain the situation to that boy Riku? Doing so may actually prove helpful to our-" Jafar began, when suddenly the door of the entrance exploded and pieces of rubble flew in every direction. Standing in the middle of the dust was Dexal, but to their shock his appearance was different. His silver hair had turned black as night, his skin was paler, and any blue in his eyes had faded away to leave them glowing and ruby red. And most shocking of all, an aura of darkness surrounded him as he grinned maliciously. "Dexal?" Maleficent asked in surprise. Dexal looked at them, and his smile grew wider and more feral. His voice had changed as well, becoming sharp and ice-cold.

"Ahh, Maleficent. It has been too long since you and I have last met. I should have killed you ten years ago, and spared the world's your evil. But at least I can make amends and do so now," he said, raising his Keyblade. Maleficent raised an eyebrow and took a step back; her long-held enemy was acting so off-character that it was actually startling her. "What has come over you, Dexal? Are you being manipulated by something?" she asked. Dexal frowned and cocked his head, looking like he was thinking about it before answering. "No, I feel perfectly fine. Just savoring the idea of your death," he said, and slowly started forward. But just as he began Sora's voice called "Dexal, no!"

From within the doorway a pair of Blizzard spells shot forward, but Dexal heard the outburst and easily dodged them. The casters turned out to be Sora and Donald, who were then followed by Aladdin and Goofy. Upon the sight of the witch Sora asked "Wait a second. Are you Maleficent?" Without a word Maleficent disappeared, and once she was gone Aladdin called "Jafar, let Jasmine go!" "Not a chance. You, she's a princess- one of seven who somehow hold the key to opening the door," Jafar explained, looking down at Jasmine. "Open..." Goofy began. "... the door?" Donald finished. Dexal sighed in realization, and smiled again. "So that is what you all are planning. I'm surprised that you know of such a thing," he said.

(Point of View Change: Dexal)

Jafar smirked. "Indeed. But you fools won't live to see what lies beyond it," he said, and held up the lamp. "Genie! My second wish! Crush them!" he ordered. Aladdin gasped and looked up. "Genie, no!" he pleaded. "Sorry, Al. The one with the lamp calls the shots. I don't have a choice," Genie said sadly. I just kept smiling, and said "No matter. We'll just defeat you both!" And with that, I charged forward, the others reluctantly doing the same. I cast Zero Graviga on myself and jumped into the air, swinging at Genie and just barely missing. "Hey!" he protested, but I wasn't listening. Jafar had just tried to fire a beam of energy at me from the top of his staff, and with it I now knew where he was.

"You won't escape!" I said, and used Meteor Crash to bring down a slew of small meteors, all of which aimed at Jafar. He frowned and rose into the air, flying to the side and dodging them. "I'm really sorry about this. Run!" Genies said, and he swung his fist down at Aladdin. He easily dodged it- Genie wasn't even trying- and ran forward to slash at Jafar. "Not a chance, street rat!" he said, and fired a blast of energy from his staff. It hit Aladdin dead in the stomach, causing him to double over and fall back. I wondered whether or not I should heal him, but then Donald handed him a Potion and took care of it for me. Good thing to, because at that moment Genie said "Sorry!" and tried to swing at me.

I easily dodged it and glared at him, knowing that he was being forced to do this by Jafar and not caring. "You...! Dark Firaga!" I called, pointing Stormfell at him and firing a ball of black fire. "Genie!" Aladdin said, and he jumped in front of his friend and knocked the ball of fire away. It exploded against the side of the wall, and Aladdin glared at me. "Hey, what's up with you?!" he demanded. But I wasn't paying attention; Jafar had just tried to hit Sora and revealed his location. "Dodge this, then! Dark Volley!" I called, and dark energy channeled through me and into my Keyblade. I took careful aim and fired a barrage of dark missiles, which totaled eighteen in number and flew at Jafar. He saw them coming and frowned, vanishing into an orb of mist that flew away from the line of fire.

With no target the Dark Volley hit the wall, and the room shook after having two consecutive attacks hit its rather ancient walls. "Dexal, go easy! The cave's not going to take that level of destruction!" Sora said, while casting Blizzard at Jafar. I ignored him, something that made Sora glare in anger, and turned to where Jafar had appeared again. "Your control over darkness is indeed powerful. But I refuse to lose!" he said, and he rose his staff into the air. The air temperature suddenly plummeted, and large block of ice appeared around the center of the room. "Take that!" Jafar said, and the blocks began spinning around. Donald shouted as slammed into him and sent him flying, while Goofy blocked another with shield.

I smiled though, and looked at him. "You think that will stop me?" I asked, and I held up my Keyblade. "Time Splicer!" I called. Stormfell glowed and a pulse of energy blasted outwards, freezing all of time except for Genie, Jafar, Sora and me. "What the-?" Sora began, but before he could say anything I teleported next to one of ice blocks and promptly sliced it into three separate pieces. The I folded space again, and appeared before another ice block to cut it apart as well, and then another and another. In seconds all of the blocks were cut apart, and I unfroze time before casting Magnega. All of the ice shards flew towards me, and then I redirected them to all fly at Jafar. "What?!" he said, and he managed to destroy of few with a blast from his staff, but was hit by several others.

I smiled, and stepped in front of him, ready to deliver the killing blow. But just as I was about to, I heard Sora call "Dexal, no!" I turned to look at him, but the moment I did I saw a ball of fire heading towards me. Instinct took over, I ducked before casting Ice Barrage. Pillars of ice erupted from the ground in a line towards my attacker, who turned to be... My eyes widened. "Sora!" I called. I tried to cancel the spell, but it was too late. The ice reached Sora and hit him from below, sending Sora up into the air before falling back down to land on the hard, unforgiving ground. "Sora!" Aladdin and the others called, while I just stood there, horrified. "Hmm, so you even turn on your own allies? Even by my standards, that is unforgivable," Jafar said.

I looked at him, and then back at Sora, when suddenly a splitting pain seared through my head. I shouted and dropped my Keyblade, falling onto my knees with my head in my hands. I knew what was happening: the shock of seeing Sora hurt my own spell had given my normal self a chance to emerge, and now the darkness in me was trying to push it back down. It felt something was trying to pull my head into two pieces, and each one was fighting viciously to put down the other. Images flashed in front of my shut eyes: Darkness consuming Destiny Islands, the ruins of the Land of Departure. Terra falling through the abyss as Aqua and I tried to save him. Aqua falling into it as she sacrificed herself.

More memories, all showing me the power of the darkness that lied within me, promising even greater strengths if I embraced. But then other memories appeared. Terra, Aqua, Ventus and I laughing together after a hard day of training, Aqua and I telling Experiment 626 we could be friends. Terra saying that he'll always find a way. And above them all, the moment when Aqua and I had unleashed our power of light upon Vanitas, and destroyed the X-Blade. "Aqua... Ven... Terra..." I said, my voice switching between it normal tone and the way it was now with every word. "Dexal, fight it!" Aladdin urged, to which the other added their encouragements. Somewhere else in the room, Jafar snorted. "Why even bother? He has become enveloped in darkness. Your words can no longer affect him," he said.

At that I looked up, and the light half within me broke through. I looked at Jafar, and smiled victoriously as my Keyblade pulsed not with a dark aura, but a bright, shining light. My voice returned to normal, I said "That's what you think!" and jumped into the air. I pointed my Keyblade at him and channeled all of my power, finally calling "Ragnarok!" With a blast, a salvo of sixteen rainbow-colored orbs of light fired at Jafar, who's eyes widened at the sight of them. "No!" he said, and he shot one more laser from his staff to try and stop them. But my power was far beyond his, and although a single orb was destroyed the other fifteen hit him dead-on. Jafar cried in pain and thrashed around, before finally vanishing into thin air.

I landed back on the ground and smiled, the darkness within me successfully sent back into the depths of my being. I walked over to Sora and offered my hand, which he took to haul himself up. "Thanks," he said. I smiled sadly. "I should be the one saying that. If it wasn't for you, I would never have made it back to my old self," I said. Sora shrugged and looked away. "It was the right thing to do; you needed to be yourself again," he said. I smiled even wider and nodded. No matter how dark things but seem, once you find the light, it will always guide the way. "So, uh, did you really kill Jafar?" Goofy asked, looking around. I was about to say that I didn't know when the room trembled, and Jafar reappeared in the air above us. "I guess not," I said.

Jafar smiled as he held up the lamp, and called out "Genie! My final wish! I want you to make me an all-powerful genie!"

Well, Dexal's back to his old self, and good thing to. Because now they have to fight Jafar in his Genie form, and their going to need all the help they can get!
