Ch.32 The Witch's Fall
"Take that!" Ursula said, casting Fire and throwing it at me. I dodged and did the same to her, but by then she had already moved out of the way. Our fight had been like this for almost the entire time, with either of us barely getting any hits in. I grunted and pointed my Keyblade, casting Triple Blizzaga. Three chunks of ice flew through the water, but Ursula cast three Blizzard spells and knocked them away. Donald came up behind her and was about to cast Thunder when Flotsam interfered, wrapping himself around his midsection. "Hey!" Donald yelled, and hit him on the head with his staff. Flotsam only held on tighter, and Goofy had to help, tackling him hard enough that his grip loosened and Donald escaped.
Sora swam down to the cauldron in the center of the room and cast Fire, hitting the cauldron. The lights coming from it changed blue, and he cast Blizzard. A yellow light shot up from the top, and Donald cast Thunder at the cauldron. With a rumbled it exploded, the wave of energy knocking Ursula back until she hit her head on the wall and floated there, dazed. I took the chance and held up Stormfell, calling "Time Splicer!" The water around me pulsed as time was frozen, including the space Ursula was occupying. She froze and I teleported, appearing behind her and slashing a few times, before reappearing in another spot and doing it again. Flotsam and Jetsam tried to stop me, but I was moving too fast and actually hit them with a few glancing blows.
Time returned to normal and the marks of all of my slashes appeared on Ursula, causing her to cry out in pain from the attack. She cast Cure on Flotsam and Jetsam, but before she could do the same to herself Donald came up and successfully hit her with Thunder, with Sora followed it up with Blizzara. She glared at them both and cast her own Thunder spell, hitting them both with bolts of electricity. "Sora! Donald!" Ariel called, healing them both with Cure before casting Aero on herself. Ursula tried to hit her with a spell, but it bounced off of the wind around Ariel as she swam forward. "This is for hurting my father!" she said, and she spun to hit the sea witch right in the face with her tail.
Ursula's head jerked to the side from the blow, and when she looked back all traces of smugness were gone. "You'll pay for that!" she said, and with a snap of her fingers Flotsam and Jetsam wrapped themselves around her arms. She pulled out a glowing vial and was about to toss it when I said "Nice try! Glacier!" I swung around in a circle and sent out a wave of frigid power, freezing Ursula and the vial in a block of ice. It sank to the bottom like a rock and shattered against the bottom, also incidentally setting off the vial. It exploded in Ursula's hand and sent her through the water, hitting the wall and becoming dazed again. "Now!" I called. Ariel nodded and cast Thunder, hitting both Flotsam and Jetsam and sending them away, while the rest of us swam towards the witch.
Goofy slammed into her with his shield while Donald cast Fira, Sora swung down with a massive overhead blow while I used Thundaga Shot. A ball of lightning shot forward and hit Ursula, jolting her awake and causing her to twitch and spasm, her mouth open in a silent scream of pain. Sora swung again, this time from the side and hitting her in the stomach. She doubled over and held her stomach, her eyes widening as the wind was knocked out of her. I watched with satisfaction as Ariel caught up and cast Thunder, before corkscrewing through the water and hitting Ursula. The relentless assault was cut short by Ursula saying "That's enough!" and spinning around in place, knocking us all back with her tentacles.
I grunted and cast Group Cure; healing us all while Ursula continued to spin about. She didn't stop either, determined not to let us get in another hit. I tried to think of a way to stop her, when suddenly Sora said "Hey! I've got an idea! Dexal, cast as strong a Stop spell on that cauldron as you can!" I looked at Sora, wondering what he had in mind, before nodding and holding my Keyblade with both hands. "Stopga!" I called, and I froze time around the cauldron. "Goofy, Ariel, I need you to keep Flotsam and Jetsam distracted! Donald and I will try to hit the cauldron with as many spells as possible!" Sora said. My eyes widened as I realized his plan, but didn't say anything to as to not ruin my concentration.
"Got it!" Goofy said, and Ariel nodded as well before turning and swimming towards the eels. Donald and Sora pointed their respective weapons at the cauldron and fired spell after spell, going from Fira to Blizzara to Thunder to Gravity. I could feel my influence over the Stop spell starting to waver, and I said "Hurry you guys! This spell won't last forever!" They nodded and cast even faster, trying to hit the cauldron with as much power as possible. I was so focused on them that I didn't see Ursula approach, and with a cackle she hit me in the side with her tentacles. I fell back and lost my concentration, the Stopga spell fading away. The cauldron began trembling and shaking, and Sora turned to Ursula, yelling "Why don't you come closer?" before using Gravity.
The spell drew her closer to the cauldron, and Sora and Donald swam away just as all of that contained energy from the spells exploded. The sea witch cried out as she was enveloped in the blast, and I covered my eyes to block out the blazing light of the explosion. Flotsam and Jetsam were also caught in the blast, and with twin shouts they were incinerated. Once the blast faded Ursula looked around, her body covered in scorch marks. At the sight of the eels' ashes floating upwards, her eyes grew wide in anger. "You'll pay for this!" she said, and vanished.
"What the-?! We can't let her get away!" Donald exclaimed. "Right! We have to get the trident as well!" Ariel added. We all nodded and swam out of the grotto, and along the way I said "Not a bad plan back there, Sora. You're getting to become almost as good a strategist as me." Sora smiled and nodded his thanks, before we reached the Open Ocean area, and we saw Ursula floating there with the trident in hand. She laughed evilly at our approach. "You fools! I rule seas now!" she said, and held up the trident. Her body burst into black smoke, which spread outwards and grew in size. Sebastian and Flounder watched in horror, and before we could get away the blackness enveloped us. When it dissipated Ursula was in front of us and wearing a crown, only now she was the size of a modern skyscraper.
"The sea and all its spoils bow to my power!" she declared. I looked around at the others, seeing that they were around her as well. And so I glared at the now-massive witch, and said "Fat chance!" before summoning my Keyblade again. The others drew their weapons as well, and we charged forward. Ursula smiled and waved her hand, sending down a blast of energy that nearly hit me had I not moved out of the way. Ariel cast Aero and moved forward, but whatever hits she made instantly healed over. "What?" she said, before ducking as Ursula swung the trident. "Foolish girl! Now that I have obtained the trident's power, all of your wind magic heals me!" she said.
"Oh yeah? Ten get a load of this!" Donald said, and cast Gravity. But that hardly did anything, and I realized that she was also now resistant to any magic. I frowned and said "I bet you're not immune to this!" and used Sonic Blade. I shot forward and blurring speed and slashed Ursula across the chest, before turning back and doing again and again. A total of seven cuts were there when I finished, and Ursula glared at me before inhaling hugely. I hesitated for just a second too long, and Ursula fired a stream of massive bubbles at me. I was too close to dodge, and when each one burst against me it was like I had been hit with a large boulder. I fell back and shook my head, stars dancing before me.
While I was recovering Sora swam forward, casting Stop and swinging away. The spell indeed froze the sea witch, but only for a few seconds. Then she turned and faced him, casting another blast of energy down at him, before raising her trident. "Insolent fools!" she said, and an entire circle of the same spells all rained down at once. Everyone except for me was hit, and I cast Group Cure to heal us all somewhat. Donald held his staff like a baseball bat and swam up to Ursula's side, swinging. It hit with a surprising loud smack, and Ursula looked down at the magic-caster. She swung her arm and hit him with the back of a massive hand, sending Donald spinning through the water and into Goofy.
I grunted and swam forward, focusing my energy into one of my more powerful moves. "Take this! Magic Hour!" I said, before rising up into the air. Ursula looked up just as I shot down, hitting her arm with an overhead blow that also created a destructive pillar of light. She shouted in pain and I did the same thing again, hitting her on the other arm, side, chest, and the back of her head. Ursula glared at me and inhaled, and this time I knew to get away. She fired the same bubbles at me again, but I cast Zero Graviga and sent them away. Goofy tackled Ursula just as she raised the trident and prepared to send down another barrage of magic, and the unfinished spell went haywire, firing down in random places. One of which was on Ursula.
She cried out at being hit with her own spell, and opened her mouth wide. Rather than inhale and spew out bubbles though, the inside of her mouth glowed before she fired a massive beam of power straight forward. She turned in a circle and hit Goofy, before also getting Sora, Donald, and even me. She prepared to hit Ariel, who froze in fear. That moment of inaction was all it took for Ursula to hit her, and she fell back. Ursula laughed, her face smug with triumph. I looked up at the massive sea witch, wondering how to defeat her. Now that she possessed the trident, her strength was incredible. Then she laughed and looked down at Ariel, saying "The trident is mine now, little girl, and the seas along with it. Say good-bye to your friends and your precious daddy!" she said, and she flipped the trident in her hand before raising it.
At the mention of her father Ariel looked up, and I could see the fear in her eyes fade away, replaced by burning rage. "No!" she said, and when Ursula stabbed forward she held out her hands. "Thundaga!" she yelled, and I watched in shock as a massive bolt of lighting shot from her hands, hitting Ursula in the stomach and knocking her back. I was surprised; Ariel's anger must have given her the strength to cast that spell despite the fact that it was usually beyond her abilities. Ariel pulled her hand back and yelled "Triple Blizzaga!" before flinging forward and firing three large chunks of ice. Ursula tried to dodge them, but that was where being giant had its disadvantages: being almost completely un-evasive.
The witch fell back from the assault, and Ariel kept it up with spell after spell. Then she raised her hands to the sky and called "Meteor!" I looked up to see a gargantuan flaming comet fall down, and Ursula raised the trident to block it. But then it exploded against the trident with devastating force, knocking it from her hands while battering her with flaming shrapnel. Ursula screamed in pain, and her body began dissolving into black smoke. I watched with rapt attention, until Ariel suddenly sighed and began sinking through the water. "Ariel!" Sora called, but I was already catching her. The area returned to the calm sea it had once been, and Donald said "And good riddance to ya!" "Gawrsh, she sure wasn't nice," Goofy commented.
Ariel's eyes fluttered open and she said "No... kidding..." before fainting again. "Is she alright?' Sora asked. I nodded. "She's fine; merely exhausted. Overusing your magic supply has a tendency to that, especially when your cooling down from a rage-filled assault," I explained. "We should take her back to King Triton," Goofy suggested. "And we can't forget about the trident," Donald added. Sora nodded and swam down, picking it up. When he did it glowed slightly, and his eyes widened. "Whoa. I can feel the power in this thing. No wonder Ursula wanted it so bad," he said. I nodded. "But it belongs to King Triton. So let's take it and his daughter back to him," I said. The others nodded, and we began swimming back to the castle.
That cursed Ursula is finally gone, and the Keyhole soon to be sealed! But what world will come after that? And what will happen there? Find out next chapter!
