RED – Jason & Samantha

Inspirational Song: – Mystery Of You - RED

Chapter 10

They walked in a comfortable silence down a hallway outside Sam's room before taking a right to pass through a large open kitchen and dining room so that they could exist out of a set of French door onto a massive patio surrounded by the most beautiful garden she had ever seen. Just as they were about to follow the curve of the patio around a wall of rose bushes, Lucky stopped facing Sam as he placed a hand on each of her shoulders.

"Everyone is going to be around that corner having lunch and I need you to know, there are a few people here that may come as a shock to you…. People we were lead to believe were dead." He knew that there was no way to prepare her for what she was about to encounter on the other side of that partition, but she needed to be warned in some way. After all, she had been through concerning Jason's and his assumed death Lucky knew that there was no need to inform her who was behind this place. The Cassadine's had always had an unhealthy morbid obsession in playing with the lives of people in Port Charles, and she was about to discover just how far they had indeed gone.

"Are you trying to scare me?" Sam asked doing her best for it to sound like a sarcastic remark as she tried to calm her growing anxiety inside. She had no idea whose decision, or if it had been a decision at all for Lucky to have been the one to be with her when she awoke but she was thrilled he was the one standing here with her at the moment. Because she was positive, no one else would be able to quell the fear that was beginning to creep up inside her.

"Never." He lightly chuckled as he brought raised a hand to brush a strand of her hair behind her ear before offering it to her so that she'd have something to hold onto, a reminder that he was there beside her to help keep her steady. "They're waiting, Shall we?"

Placing her hand in his firm grasp, Sam laid her forehead to his chest pausing to take in a deep breather before she looked up at him and nodded in confirmation for him to lead the way. She already had so many questions swimming around in her head she was positive that this was only going to add to them and she couldn't seem to help herself from holding Lucky's hand a little tighter. With any other man who'd been in her life Sam had always made sure not to show any kind of weakness, always made sure to show them how strong and capable she was, especially Jason. But with Lucky, she had always been able to show her vulnerability and she was thanking God that at this moment it was him whom she was facing this with.

The first face her eyes set sight on was Nickolas seated at the head of the table the farthest from her, to his left was the woman who looked like Emily, Monica had said she was Emily's sister, her name was Rebecca or Becky or something like that. Only there was a personal recognition in her eyes that went far beyond the simple acquaintance Sam had with her during her brief stay in Port Charles. Next to her sat Luke's other roguish son Ethan who's smirk automatically brought a smile to her face. The face that resided in the last chair on the left side of the table was one that caused her breath to catch, Georgie Jones…. Maxie's sister, she looked as sweet and gentle as she always had only just slightly older. The chair to her left, the end of the table opposite Nickolas was empty as was the chair next to it that faced Georgie. One more chair over sat an individual she had never met, the man had dark hair to accompany his sharp angular features with a set of soft brownish-green hazel eyes; and the man between him and Nickolas had made her knees weaken nearly taking her to the ground, had Lucky not been there to hold her up. It was Jason, but it looked like her Jason before... Her head couldn't wrap around who she was seeing, she couldn't seem to make sense of anything, and as Nickolas stood, she had little difficulty giving him her full attention.

"I'm sure you're a little confused, so first let me make sure you know everyone here. Emily, Ethan, Georgie, Lucky and myself I know you've met. However, I would like you to meet Zander Smith and… this is Jason's twin brother…Andrew Cain. Please take a seat and feel free to grill us with all your questions." Nickolas gestured towards the empty seats at the table with his hand. From what he remembered of his cousin at the time he had gotten to spend with her, he knew that she did not need to be handled with kid gloves. She was strong, and a force of nature in her own right, she had more than proven that when she, Lucky, Nadine and himself had taken on the illegal drug dealers shortly before his grandmother had replaced his role in Port Charles with that of Conner Bishop.
