CH57
Kate was tired of reading. She had already filled out the various forms that were a part of the manual. She was waiting to sign the last page till just before she left for home. Till then she kept on reading. If Castle could do it she could damn well do it.
Kate had just finished dinner and went back to reading. It wasn't like there was anything else to do. She considered calling Castle but she was worried about where the conversation would take them. She missed Castle and she only had one clean pair of underwear left.
Kate went back to reading to take her mind of what she was going to do to Castle the second they were alone.
Finally it was late and she was tired. Tired and tired of reading. She got to go home tomorrow.
"I don't know that I want to go to bed. If I sleep I'll just have another nightmare and I don't want that life anymore." Kate tells the empty apartment. Except it wasn't empty.
"You don't know that you'll have a nightmare." Jill tells her.
"I've had them since I can remember and I had one last night. I'll just have another one tonight." Kate counters, convinced that she will.
"And what got the nightmares to stop?" Jill asks her.
"Castle and Alexis are wrapped up in my arms. But neither of them is here." Kate groans out.
"You can call them." Jill offers.
"Talking on the phone isn't going to help Jill." Kate is convinced.
"You can Skype Castle. Plug the phone in so it doesn't die, call him and take it to bed with you. Maybe it'll be enough?" Jill offers.
"Talk to him, see him and listen to him all night long. Maybe?" Kate was warming to the idea.
"What if it makes me look weak in his eyes?" Kate worries.
"He already knows you miss him. This is just an extension of that. You don't have to tell him it's to prevent nightmares. And after tonight that will not be a problem again." Jill tries to convince her.
"Fine." Kate relents and gets changed for bed, plugs her phone in and gets into bed, then makes the call.
Seeing his face light up on her phone. "Hi Castle." Kate greets him shyly knowing what she called him for.
"KATE! How are things going? Has the reading gotten to you yet?" Rick asks remembering how it drove him nuts.
"I've had all the reading I care to for some time to come." Kate chuckles out.
"Where are you?" Rick asks moving his head around as if that would get him a better view.
"I'm in bed getting ready for sleep." Kate tells him.
"Ooooo, phone sex in bed? You are a wicked woman Kate." Rick teases.
"Sorry Castle no phone sex tonight. I just miss you and wanted to go to sleep with you near me." Kate tells him.
"OH! Let me get my charger." And Rick disappears from sight. Then the picture is moving around some till it settles on Rick's face with his head lying on a pillow. "Better?"
"Yes much. Just talk to me Castle till I go to sleep. I need to hear you even if I can't touch you." Kate coos in a soft voice.
"I've got just the thing. Be right back." And Castle's face disappears. But is soon back and it looks like he is holding something out of sight.
"Castle?" Kate questions him.
"I'm going to read to you. This is the latest book I sent into Gina, who I still want you to shoot for me by the way." Getting a giggle out of Kate.
"I'm going to give you a personal late night sneak peek." Rick tells her and starts reading.
Kate doesn't know where she went to sleep, however Rick just went on reading.
Rick just kept reading, though he was slowing down as he got tired.
Jill however was noticing that Kate was beginning to moan and was moving around in the bed more.
"Richard. ….. Richard!" Jill calls out.
Rick stops reading and is suddenly more awake. "Jill?"
"I believe Kate is starting to have a nightmare." Jill tells him.
Rick instantly remembered the conversation they had about why Kate and been sleeping with Alexis to prevent her from having nightmares. Except sleeping with him was equally successful.
Problem was he wasn't there to wake her and he had already been talking so trying to talk her into waking wasn't likely to work either.
"Maybe I can insert myself into her dream through what I say?" Rick wonders.
"KATE!" He yells hoping to get her attention just a little. "Do you remember out trip to Nassau? The day you found that dress you loved so much. Do you remember what it felt like? Do you remember finding it at home on the sofa? We told you that you were the most beautiful women we had ever seen. Do you remember what that felt like?
Do you remember wearing that dress at Turks & Caicos? What you felt like looking as lovely as you were that day?
Do you remember the massage that I gave you when you came home from work? Do you remember the first day Alexis told you she loved you?
Do you remember the day you asked if we could create our own baby?
"Keep going Richard, you probably can't see her but it seems to be working." Jill tells him.
"Do you remember the time you told me for the first time that you loved me? Do you remember the feeling knowing we were going to buy a house together?" Rick did his best to recall all the good times that Kate had been through with them.
Until Jill finally told him he could stop. "How is she Jill?" Sounding concerned.
"She is calm and lying still. It appears to have worked." Jill tells him what her scans can tell her.
"At least she is coming home tomorrow. I'll leave the phone on all night. Good night Jill and thanks. Good night Kate, I love you." Rick curls up and works at getting some sleep.
Kate woke feeling a little confused. Last night felt weird somehow but she couldn't remember waking up in the middle of the night with a nightmare. Then she saw the phone and that it was still on. It looked like a bed but Rick wasn't in it.
Kate picked up the phone. "Castle? ….. Castle? ….. Are you there Castle?"
Then suddenly the view changed quickly and then Castle's face showed up. "Kate, sorry I was just getting out of the shower. Would you like a peek?" Rick teases, lifting his eyebrows a couple of times.
Kate chuckles. "No Castle I don't need a peek. I'd rather wait until I can get my hands and other parts of me on you." Kate tells him grinning.
"How are you? Where are you?" Rick asks concerned.
"I'm still in bed, was thinking about taking a shower and packing so I can come home." Kate tells him happily.
"Do you want me to wash your back?" Rick continues to tease her.
"No need Castle, besides I have plans for you." Kate teases back.
"I'll meet you at the airport just outside security." Rick tells her.
"You don't have to do that Castle. You can pick me up at the curb."
"And miss the chance to hold you in my arms and kiss you the second I can? Yea, only in 'never going to happen land'" Rick tells her.
"I should get up and take a shower and get packing." Kate tells him.
"Don't forget to sign the last page, and can you take the phone with you into the shower?" Rick asks hoping.
"Castle?" Kate chastises him. Then she lifts up her top to expose her breasts briefly. "Bye Castle." And ends the call.
"That woman is going to be the death of me. At least it will be with a smile on my face." As Rick gets ready to take Alexis to school.
Kate was out of the shower, packed and had the manual in her hands. "I hope I have all those codes and other things memorized." Kate tells herself.
"You're not the only one who has been reading it Kate." Jill tells her.
"Jill you have what's on these pages?" Kate asks a little shocked and excited that she has a backup.
"Of course, I've read every page just as many times as you have. There wasn't anything else to do." Jill tells her.
"Jill I could kiss you." Kate was more than happy.
Kate opens the manual to the last page and signs it, then leaves it on the table and walks downstairs where she is driven to the airport.
Kate was in first class and was off the plane and striding down the concourse as fast as her long legs could take her. She was approaching the security area and her eyes were roaming everywhere looking for Castle.
The second she saw him she started jogging right for him. Finally reaching him she dropped her bag and they put their arms around each other and started kissing that was probably putting on quite a show. Breaking for air. "God I've missed you." They tell each other at the same time.
Kate kisses him again quickly then moves her mouth to his ear. "I want you Castle."
"Then it's a good thing Alexis is in school and Martha told me she was going shopping again." Rick tells her.
"We're going to have the place to ourselves? Take me home Castle. I have plans for you." Kate tells him.
Rick drove them home but it wasn't easy. Kate had her hand on his thigh giving him soft scratches the entire way.
The second they were inside the front door Rick was all over her kissing and running his hands everywhere.
Kate wanted him but her mind was still in control. "The bedroom Castle." As Kate starts to lead them that way. But it was a struggle for both of them.
Finally in the bedroom Kate started removing his clothes while slapping his hands away as he tried to get hers off. Finally getting him naked. "Do you love me Castle." Kate with a lower tone in her voice asks him.
"Yes." Rick growls out.
"Do you trust me Castle?" Kate asks with the same voice.
"With my life." Rick responds.
Kate pushes him over to the bed and pushes him down onto it. Then walks over to the dresser and searches for something. Coming back with something behind her back.
Kate kneels down and takes one of Ricks hands and slaps cuffs on his wrist and then to the post at the head of the bed. Then she walks around to the other side. Watching Rick watch her all the way. Kneeling at the head of the bed she slowly takes his other hand and cuffs him to the bed.
Then she slowly moves to the foot of the bed and proceeds to do a striptease. After her blouse was off she started asking him if she should take this piece of clothing off, one at a time.
Kate had already noticed that he was ready for her. But still. "Do you want me Castle?" While only touching herself.
Two hours later Kate finally let released him from the cuffs only to have the tables turned and end up cuffed to the bed herself.
Another two hours later and Rick released her from her own cuffs.
Rick was out of breath but still managed. "I love you Kate."
"I love you too Castle." Kate growled out. Her voice was rough from all the screaming she had been doing. It would only be later that she would be glad they were home alone. After she had thought about it she wondered if their neighbors had heard her. And kinda wondered why the police were not at their door.
They stayed in bed in each other's arms for another hour. However Rick had to go get Alexis from school. So they had to get up. Rick talked Kate into taking a shower with him. Which turned into shower sex. Not that Kate was complaining.
Kate went with Rick to pick up Alexis from school. Kate had missed her and didn't want to wait any longer. Rick sat in the car having an idea of what was coming while Kate got out and stood next to the car.
Kate spotted her before Alexis saw her and Kate's tears were already flowing by the time Alexis ran straight at her and slammed into her.
Alexis was instantly crying which only got Kate to cry even more. "I've missed you mom."
"I know sweetie and I've missed you too, so very much." As they each do their best to squeeze the life out of each other.
"I love you sweetie so very much." Kate can barely get the words out.
"I love you too mom. Please don't leave again. I need you." Alexis isn't talking any better than Kate is.
"No never, you're my little girl. You've always been my little girl." As they continue to hold each other and cry at each other.
"Come on sweetie, let's go home. I need to catch up on my hugs and kisses from you." As Kate stands and opens the rear passenger door and gets in right behind her.
They hugged and kissed all the way home.
Rick was looking in the rear view mirror all the way home. He had a big smile and his own tears.
Rick was so very happy that his little girl had found a mother to love and love her back. After what she had been through with Meredith it warmed his heart. Now he could just be her dad. Not try and be her mother and her father. Alexis was now going to get all the love and support she could ever hope for.
