Evelyn and the girls were having the time of their lives. Castle's house was literally steps from the beach. Who needed a pool when you had the Pacific Ocean in your backyard?
They had taken a taxi to get to the house and the first thing Evelyn did was take out the car key and drive to the first bank she could find to cash one of the checks. From there they went to the grocery store since the house was practically empty of food.

Kate had gotten used to firing a shotgun now and this one seemed to give the most firepower. It could hold 14 shells!

The KSG weighs 6.9lbs and is as compact as legally possible with a 26.1" overall length and an 18.5" cylinder bore barrel. Even with this compact size, the internal dual tube magazines hold an impressive 6 rounds of 12 gage 3" shells each, for a total capacity of 6+6+1 (7 per tube if using 2-3/4" shells).
And then she found some shells that could do some serious damage. And not just too human targets. These shells could shred almost anything.
A Flechette is a small dart shaped projectile, which is clustered in an explosive warhead, dropped in a missile from an airplane or fired from a hand held weapon. One unique application of this 1" Flechette was to load these in a 12 GA. shotgun for taking out snipers hiding in thick brush or trees. Due to the penetration of these projectiles, tree limbs and brush would not disperse the darts. Even if some were dispersed, this would still have an all-covering pattern within a tree or brush. These were heavily utilized during the Viet-nam era, often referred to as the "beehive" round. Generally 28 of these darts are placed in each 12 GA. shell,18 in each 20 GA shell and 8 in each .410 shell. Also known as "Satan's Toothpicks" 2 3/4" round.
But she needed a weapon that could give her a firepower advantage. The MP5/10 that she had trained with was nice. But it was old fashioned and she wanted something with some more versatility to it.
The Micro Tavor (MTAR-21), also designated X95 and sometimes called Tavor-2, is a stand-alone extremely compact weapon specifically designed for special forces units, as well as military personnel who are normally not issued long assault rifles.
With the use of a relatively simple conversion kit, the MTAR-21 can be converted from a 5.56 mm assault rifle to a 9 mm submachine gun loaded with 20, 25, and 32-round magazines. A suppressor can also be added to the weapon, as part of the 9 mm conversion kit. An integrated grenade launcher is currently being developed for the Micro Tavor. In November 2009, the Micro Tavor was selected as the future standard infantry weapon of the IDF.
It was two days before Kate could work with Jack and get the voice down correctly for Wichita's little girl. Jill had been a big help since she had recorded everything. Even Castle was amazed, as he got to listen to what both of them had said. And he agreed, Jack had done a masterful job of duplicating her voice.
And thanks to Kate's and Jill's description of her, along with that one photograph Kate had of her from when she did her check on Wichita, they had what she looked like down pretty good also.
Now they just needed what to say, what to show him and where to do it?
Kate had two days off soon so Castle went looking for someplace to go. Someplace to unwind and live. Kate was a mile a second kind of person and he wanted her to see another side of her life.
It took a little searching but he thinks he found just the place, and they could drive there.

They drove back home that evening and put a very tired Alexis to bed. "She was asleep the second her head hit the pillow Castle." Kate tells him.
"Not surprising that Kids Club really had her moving. They tell you a kids energy never dies. For tonight at least her energy has reached its end." Castle agrees smiling.
"You think we're ready?" Kate asks.
"Jack?" Castle asks.
"Programing ready. I only need 20 seconds to triangulate the location of the burner phone he is using. That will tell us where he is when he answers. Also voice duplication program is complete." Jack tells them.
"What do you think Jill?" Kate asks her.
"Jack's voice duplication program has the little girl's voice so that it would take a super computer to even begin to suspect it isn't her voice based on what I recorded during your encounter." Jill confirms.
"Ok Jack use the clone phone off of the mole at the 12th and dial if you please." Castle tells him.
"Dialing."
"Report." Wichita answers and commands.
"Daddy? Daddy why? Didn't you love me?" The little girl asks.
You could hear him suck in a breath. He obviously recognized the voice.
"Who is this!"
"Daddy please! What did I do wrong?" The girl asks.
"I don't know what game you are playing but it's not going to work."
"We watched that man kill that lady daddy. Why did you kill her daddy? I was a good girl."
"Who is this?"
"I did what you asked daddy. I was a good girl. Why daddy?"
"I don't understand, this isn't possible."
"Was she mean daddy? She looked nice. Why daddy?" The girl is still asking him questions.
"You're not her, this can't be happening. You're dead." Wichita just might be cracking.
"Why did I die daddy? I thought you loved me."
"STOP! Stop this ." However Wichita stays on the phone.
"What did I do wrong daddy? I was just a little girl."
"You wouldn't listen. You just wouldn't listen." Wichita actually responds.
Kate slaps her hands over her mouth to remain silent, while Castle does his best to bite his tongue.
"I was a good girl daddy. Why daddy? I didn't do anything."
"I had to, I had to." And Wichita hangs up the phone.
"Call ended." Jack tells them.
Kate starts talking thru her hands. "Oh god Castle. He killed his own little girl. What kind of monster can do that?" Kate was shaking her head. She just couldn't wrap her mind around that thought.
Castle doesn't have an answer. He had sold his soul and made sure his own daughter paid the price.
"Jack?" Castle decides to change the subject instead.
"He's in New York at the following address." Jack supplies.
"NO WAY!" Castle can't believe it. "Bracken must have called him in for something. If we pick him up now Bracken will be forced to do something else." Castle comments.
Kate tries to recover from having a father kill his own child. "He'll either hire someone that might be less trustworthy or do it himself." Kate speculates.
"Let's go pick him up." Castle offers.
"Now?" Kate is a little shocked.
"If we're lucky he hasn't met with Bracken yet and even if he has picking him up will put a stop to what he wants him to do." Castle tells him.
"Let's go get him then. What about Alexis?" Kate doesn't want to leave her alone.
"Mother is here I'll go talk to her while you load up for business." Castle tells her while heading out to find his mother.
Kate heads down to the garage to grab a few things. Putting on her corsett and putting her mini-glocks in their slots behind her back. Then she grabs her X-95 and quickly converts it to 9mm so she can attach the silencer. Then picks up a taser.
Castle has gotten Martha to watch Alexis for the evening and heads to his office to load up. Pulling out his double harness and attaching his two Steyr TMP Machine Pistols with silencers already attached. Then he pulled out a mini-glock and put it in a holster attached to his right thigh. Finally grabbing a taser and headed for the garage to join Kate.
Meeting up at Castle's car Kate get's in the passenger side since it was his car.
"I see we are thinking similarly." Castle notes smiling.
"Partners Castle." Kate smiles back.
It was a little bit of a drive to get to the place. All the way Castle was asking Jack if the phone had moved any yet. And each response was no.
"It doesn't look like it's going to be a hotel." Kate notes as they get closer.
"Not exactly prime residential space either." Castle notes.
"Not everyone can afford 4.5 million homes Castle." Kate notes.
"Says the spoiled homicide detective." Castle teases. Getting Kate to start laughing.
Castle parks a block away around the corner. "Looks like an old business building, probably with an apartment on the floor above. Likely where the owner of the store below would live." Castle guesses.
"Makes sense, there was a time when that was common. Even back then there had to be more than one way up and down." Kate notes.
"I'll let you have the front while I take the back. …. Remember whisper to Jill if you want to talk to me. Jill will forward it to Jack who will talk to me. We should probably go looking into a head set for each of us after this. Not a big fan of the delay." Castle tells her.
"And remember to listen to Jill while she scans around me." Kate tells him.
"You are learning my love. Don't let this low life sneak up behind you. We have baby making practice tonight." Castle smiles at her.
"I'm looking forward to it Castle." As Kate leans in for a quick kiss and then waits for Castle to get around to the back of the building and have Jill tell her he is starting inside.
"Jill?" Kate asks.
"No one in scanning range at the moment." Jill tells her. So Kate opens the front door. He's sure of himself the idiot. Or maybe the front door couldn't be locked anymore.
