"NEW ORDER"

"UNACCOMPLISHED"

(Witch and Wizard: Before Chapter 43)

Byron

After the courtroom incident, I hurried my feet to the HQ. When I enter the building, I was greeted by my best mate "What's up, Byron?! Haven't seen you for a couple of days"

"Hello Darrius!" We press our bodies to each other and I pat his back. "It's good to see you friend."

Darrius is a friend of mine since I joined the Elimination Team. If you think of the most perfect prince for a princess, Darrius is your man. He has the shiny golden eyes, white teeth and perfect shaped face. He can be too aggressive when you pissed him off.

"I'm in a quest." We walk down the hallway to my office. I ask him "How 'bout you, what did you do when I'm not around?"

"Oh you know, raiding magicians; just like we usually do." He replies. "Last week, The Elimination Team had just raided secret magic sharing connections between magicians. They call it shared magic."

"Shared magic? Why were they sharing magic?" As I ask we have just arrive at my office. I insert the key to the key hole and I turn the knob and enter the room.

"Sharing magic is a way for both magician's magic to become powerful-"

"Swain" We were interrupted by a voice that calls on front of the doorway. It was the One "To my office. Now." Then he disappears without a blink of an eye with the wind.

Darrius whistles low "Looks like you've got serious trouble."

"Well, I hope not." I rush to his majestic office, which has a few mirrors on the walls.

His office is elbowed room and spacious. As you enter the door, you will see his long table and his rotating chair; behind it, is a magnificent and big window. Around the walls are mirrors; no wonder why he puts a few mirrors even though what he really needs is just one.

I stop on front of his office. I make a heavy sigh, smooth my hair backward and pull my coat forward. As I enter the room, I see The One sitting on his chair and facing the big window.

"How was the conversation?" The One says; he was referring to our conversation with me a while ago at the courtroom.

"Well I was surprised that it was you, sir."

"Have you found it?" The One asks. Now he's asking for the orb.

"Well-uh not yet actually-" Suddenly, a strong thunder crackles outside. "Oh-no"

"What? Not yet!" He shouts.

"But-"

"Silence!" The One slowly stands up his hands meet behind his back; still he looks to the window. My heart beats with nervousness and perspiration starts to flow on my cheeks. "You have disobeyed my command."

"Sir, I was—"

He turns around and looks at me with a stern face. "I said silence! There are no excuses!"

This is my first time to encounter The One so very mad at me; he isn't ever since I came here. "Why is this so called Omni-orb so important to him?"

"I'm placing you in another job." He says in calm voice. "I want you to guard Whitford and Wisteria Allgood. You are dropped off from the Elimination Team."

"What?!" Is he really serious for kicking me out of the Elimination Team? I've been at my best for raiding serious criminals.

"Remember what you said before 'serving for the glory for the New Order', so don't be offended when I pulled you out; I do it for the New Order. Do you understand?"

"Yes sir."

"I want disciplined officers. I don't want failures." He says "Now you may leave and go off to your new assignment."

"Yes sir" I say. I salute and I quickly go out of his room.

"For the New Order, For the New Order, For the New Order" I say this phrase repeatedly as I walk out from his office. I can't believe it! Because of not taking that stupid orb, I'm kicked out! I was fighting against this Lightning Wizard and I ran out of food and health for me journeying to the next mountain. Isn't that an excuse for me being here? Just to rest for a while? "The One never take such excuses."

"Hey Byron!" Darrius calls out as he walks to me. Well at least I'd got friends who can support me.

"So what happened?" He asks.

"I'm kicked out from the Elimination Team." I say with humiliation.

"Huh? Why?"

"I didn't accomplish my mission." I scratch my hair and lower my head down.

"Well-um—I'm off to a mission right now. See you!" Darrius runs ahead of me down to the garage.

"I'm not that stupid, Darrius." I know Darrius very well. One thing I notice about Darrius is he makes friends with successful officers and he hates those who fail. He just uses his friends just for his popularity. Since I'm beginning to fail, he leaves me behind and searches for another.

Right now, I feel betrayed.
