Wedding
Last chapter for this story. For all those that read it all the way through (or thru) you have my thanks and trust you enjoyed it.
For those who like food, try some of the recipes, most of them are not bad. I think i screwed up the Spanish Pizza one when i made it. Still I'm not likely to try it again.
As for all the other flavor stuff i added go back and read it if you didn't or continue to scroll through (thru) it all. That is the readers choice.
The next story (yes there is one) I'm only on chapter 9 so far. When i make it to 19 or 20 I'll start posting it. Yes it will have a Sci-fi twinge to it. Probably about as much as this one did, maybe a little less.

The Venue and the people selected had really taken care of everything. All Rick and Kate needed to do was tell them how many people were coming.
Kate had invited several people from the 12th Precinct and their wives and/or husbands (30 total). Lanie, Espo and Ryan were there, along with Jenny. Her dad of course was going to walk her down the aisle. She had invited a friend from her college days, Maddie. There were also a couple of cousins on the Beckett side that she hadn't seen in years along with their significant others.
Rick had Alexis and Martha of course. Paula his publicist and her date. Jack from Quantico and his wife. He even had the entire FBI Swat team and their wives based in D.C. His lawyer Steve and his wife and of course Roy and his wife Evelyn.
The FBI Swat team didn't show up in full combat gear of course but it didn't take much imagination to know they all had service weapons on them. Along with Jack and the 15 people from the precinct.
Rick had arranged for a security detail all around the Lighthouse. That fiasco with Bracken was not yet over and he wasn't taking any chances.
All of the guests were entertained by music and appetizers prior to the wedding along with an open bar for everyone to partake in.
Rick, Jack, Espo and Ryan were in one hotel getting ready while Kate, Alexis, Martha and Maddison were in another. Each had a limo waiting for them along with 2 police cruisers and 4 motorcycle cops.
The police escort was Roy's doing. Neither Rick or Kate yet knew about it. Roy wasn't taking any chances either. There was going to be a wedding or there was going to be hell to pay.
"Will you relax Kate. You're going to work yourself into worshiping the porcelain god and then faint or just faint before you even get that far." Lanie wasn't helping her nerves any.
"And why are you nervous anyway? You're already married to him." Lanie points out.
"I know it's just, …. Hic, ….. the first time was fast and quick, ….. Hic, …... I didn't have time to think about what I was doing, ….. Hic" Kate's hyperventilating had given her the hiccups.
Then she ran for the bathroom. "I'll look after her, you two go find some crackers and ginger ale." Martha tells them.
"Crackers and Ginger ale?, …. Wait, is Kate, …. I mean is Kate pregnant? …. Alexis?" Lanie turns on her. "Start talking Alexis." Lanie stares down at her.
Alexis however zips her lips closed. "Alexis!" Lanie threatens. "Is Kate pregnant?" Lanie glares down at her.
Alexis unzips her mouth. "I can't tell you." Then zips her mouth closed again.
Lanie decides on a softer approach. Kneeling down to Alexis's level. "Kate's pregnant isn't she?" Lanie doesn't form it in a question, more of a statement.
At first Alexis shakes her head no, but soon changes it to nodding her head yes, while still keeping her lips closed.
Lanie looks up to Maddison and sees her tears starting and Lanie engulfs Alexis in her first Lanie bear hug she's ever experienced.
"I'll go get the crackers and ginger ale before I ruin my make-up." Maddie tells them and disappears.
Martha has reached Kate with a wet wash cloth and kneels down to look at her.
Kate takes the wash cloth. "Why do I have to have morning sickness on my wedding day?" Kate's tears start while she pleads with Martha to make it stop.
"The girls have gone looking for something to help Katherine." As Martha uses a Kleenex to dab away the tears before they ruin her make-up. "You just stay in here dear until it's time to get you into your dress."
"It better still fit Martha." Kate looks at her with sad eyes.
Now Martha was a little worried. She of course knew Kate was pregnant but she didn't think she was showing yet.
Kate however knew better. She had noticed a week ago that there was a tiny bump that didn't use to be there. And she was pretty sure it wasn't Rick's cooking that did it. Though her ability to keep what Rick cooked down was proving to be a problem lately.
It didn't take long before Maddison was back with saltine crackers and some ginger ale and took it into the bathroom to give to Martha.
Martha took them and had Kate nibble on a cracker then wash it down with a little ginger ale.
In a different hotel Rick wasn't doing any better as he hurled into the toilet bowl yet again.
"I'm already married, why am I nervous?" Rick asked not expecting an answer.
Rick wasn't dressed yet either, but considering where he presently was and was doing, this turned out to be a good thing.
"Writers?" Jack questions Espo and Ryan.
"Oh and you're going to stand there and tell me you didn't do this when you got married." Rick challenged him.
"Oh I was puking my guts out alright. I was a mess in the hotel room, just like you are. I hurled two more times in the car to the church, and hurled two more times waiting for her to show up in the church. I had to stand right outside the bathroom, waiting.
Then when I saw her walk down that aisle for the first time in her wedding dress next to her father. It all went away. I think half of the entire FBI was there but all I saw was her." Jack tells him.
"You'll do fine; all we have to do is get you there without making a mess of yourself." Jack chuckles as Rick hurls into the toilet again and hands him a wet wash cloth.
Ryan and Espo had moved to standing outside the bathroom. "You have it this bad bro?" Espo asks his partner.
"Almost. It's not the wedding that gets to you. Ok that's not true it is the wedding. You tell each other that you love the other in private or with one or two people present. But there is something about doing it in front of everyone you know or haven't ever even seen. That's what gets to you.
Suddenly everyone is involved in your life and you're up there telling all of them that you love her. It's not personal anymore, it's public." Ryan tries to explain.
"Well I'm eloping. There is no way in hell I'm going through this shit." Espo tells him.
Ryan however just smiles at him. It may be Lanie or someone else but when that time comes his partner was going to be right were Castle is now, puking his guts out, and he was going to be standing right next to him trying to help. Just like the FBI guy Jack was doing right now for Castle.
It finally became time to get Rick dressed and downstairs. Rick didn't really need someone dressing him however he did have to get Jack to do his tie for him. Suddenly he was all thumbs even though he had done this countless times before.
Finally downstairs they found the limo waiting along with half the NYPD, or so it seemed. The driver explained it was Captain Roy Montgomery's idea. He had told all of them that if Rick didn't show up for the wedding not to bother to show up for work the next day.
The humor had helped Rick a little, still he hurled once in the limo on the way to the wedding.
Rick was already at the Lighthouse while Kate was being helped into her dress. He was standing as close to the restrooms as he dared while still being able to talk with the guests.
"Suck it in girlfriend." Lanie was telling her while trying to get the zipper up the back closed and then sealed so the zipper didn't show.
Lanie walked her over to the full length mirror. At first all Kate could see was some beautiful woman wearing a wedding dress staring back at her. Not until she could see the others in the mirror behind her dabbing at their tears, did she figure out the woman in the mirror was her.
"Will you three stop already, you're going to get me started" Kate was telling them but it was already too late. And Lanie handed over a Kleenex for Kate to use on her tears.
"You're gorgeous mom, just like last time." Alexis tells her.
"Well let's see you, go walk somewhere and come back." Lanie tells her.
And Kate walks away and spins at the end and then walks back to the mirror to stare into it some more.
"Damn Becks that dress really does show off your legs. Did Castle spontaneously com bust last time? Because if he didn't he will this time." Maddie tells her.
"Girlfriend that dress is ALL you. And I'm still mad at you for getting married the first time without me. But I'll get over it." Lanie tells her and then hugs her.
"We should get going ladies, fashionably late is one thing. Suicidal late is another." Martha tells them.
Maddie takes the door while Martha collects the crackers and ginger ale, while Lanie grabs something for Kate to hurl into on the way there. Leaving Alexis to take up the rear making sure her mom never leaves her sight.
Downstairs they encountered the same thing Rick and the guys did. A limo with the other half of NYPD waiting for them. Compliments of Captain Roy Montgomery, they were told.
Kate was pretty sure you were going to need an army for anyone to get past them to do any damage. It was an exaggeration of course, but still …..
Kate was fine on the ride to the Lighthouse. It wasn't until she stepped inside and smelled all the food that her stomach gave up and she hurled into the bowl Lanie was carrying for her.
"Morning sickness at your wedding is a bitch girlfriend." Lanie tries to comfort her while Martha hands her a cracker and gets out the ginger ale.
Kate stares at Lanie shocked with a cracker in her mouth. "How did , …. Who told?" Kate looks at Martha then down at Alexis.
Alexis however zips her mouth closed and shakes her head. Then starts nodding her head. Unzipping her mouth. "I'm sorry mom."
Kate kneels down and hugs her. "It's ok sweetie, I still love you."
"Lanie is scary mom." Alexis whispers into her ear.
"Yes I know she is sweetie." Kate glares up at Lanie who moves over to a painting to study it more closely. Getting Maddison to start laughing. Which takes Kate's mind of her morning sickness at least for a moment.
Rick and Jack, who Rick chose as his best man, are standing in their place waiting. Rick had considered having Roy be his best man and had actually asked him. But his friend had declined, he wanted to be out front making sure no one crashed his wedding. He said he owed it to him to make sure everything went off without any trouble.
Espo and Ryan went off looking for Jim so he could get this wedding started.
Jim knocked and then entered finding the girls doing last minute touches, mostly about make-up.
Jim was shocked at what he found. He had seen pictures of Katie in her wedding dress but this was way different.
Jim walked up to her while the others stepped aside. "WOW, your beautiful Katie."
Kate's tears started immediately. "Thanks dad." As she stares into his eyes.
"Oh Katie, don't start crying now, you'll get me started and we'll end up a blubbering mess all the way to Rick." Jim pleads and teases a little.
Kate accepts a Kleenex and dabs at the tears. "You ladies want to go see if we are ready?" Jim asks them.
Martha stops Alexis from leaving with them. "Not you dear, you are walking out in front of Kate all the way."
"I've been looking forward to this for a long time." Jim tells her.
"I'm glad you're here dad, it means a lot." Kate tells him.
There is a knock and Martha pokes her head in. "Time to go Katherine dear."
And Jim holds out his arm and Kate takes it and they walk out of the room.
Lanie and Maddison were the first ones down the aisle. They both had their heads on a swivel. They were thinking the wedding would be lovely, just not this! It was simply gorgeous! There had to be a semi load of flowers, and they were everywhere. And you could smell them.
They saw Rick and Jack standing at the far end. They almost forgot to walk.
Alexis was next followed closely by Kate and Jim.
Kate knew the arrangements they had asked for, but seeing it was another matter. "DAD?"
"You alright Katie?" Jim was afraid she was going to run.
"It's gorgeous dad." Kate does her best to blink back tears or it was going to ruin her make-up.
Everything else on the planet just seemed to fade away from Rick's point of view the moment he saw Kate. Even her father standing next to her seemed to just disappear.
Kate walked down the aisle in a complete haze, her morning sickness long forgotten. Kate knew there were people on either side of her but she couldn't tell you their names. All she saw was a very handsome Rick Castle at the far end who seemed to be getting closer and closer.
Finally she can feel her dad leave her and all she sees are the eyes of Rick Castle in front of her. She was drowning in them yet again.
Kate was still in a haze as the minister started talking. She had done this before in Vegas, but this was different.
Everyone in attendance was reminded that this was Kate and Rick renewing their wedding vows to each other.
Rick was offered to go first.
"Kate, the moment I saw you, you took me by surprise. You were and still are the most beautiful woman I have ever met. But there was a sadness and determination in your eyes unlike anyone I had ever met before.
I could see there was such a passion for life and love that you had hidden away. Reserved only for those select few.
Your determination is simply extraordinary. You stole my heart that one day at the Zoo with Alexis. I knew I could never let you get away. Life with you has already exceeded my wildest imagination.
I need you in my life for the rest of our lives. I need you to be my wife, my best friend and the mother to our children. And the best damn detective New York has or ever will see." Rick grins.
Kate blushes at the last part and has to look away from his eyes just for a moment, or she would forget the words she wants to tell him.
Kate looks back up to drown in his blue eyes that had captured her soul.
Kate was offered to go next.
"Rick, you've changed my life in more ways than I can begin to mention. You're love saved my life, my hopes and my dreams.
You wouldn't go away and forced me to open my eyes and open my heart. I didn't know what you were doing to me, changing me, helping me to love.
I can't even imagine what my life would be like without you and Alexis in it.
You're my husband, my very best friend, sorry Lanie, and I need you in my life for the rest of my life.
I happily ask you to marry me again and spend our lives together in love and happiness." Kate smiles at him.
After all the kissing they have done in the past, Rick chose to kiss her this time, lightly and passionately.
"I love you." Rick whispered to her.
"I love you too." Kate whispers back smiling wide.
Dancing was next and Rick and Kate were first and alone followed by everyone else, including Alexis.
"How are you doing Katie?" Jim asks her since it was his turn next.
"I'm great dad; I don't think I've ever been better." Kate tells him smiling while dancing with him.
"You think your mother knows how happy you are?" Jim is forced to ask.
"I don't know how she couldn't dad, this has been amazing." Kate tells him, already knowing her mom approves of Rick and Alexis. Wishing she could tell him what she knows. But would it help him or hurt him even more?
Kate was having such a good time that she didn't notice she was sitting down to eat until the food was put down in front of her.
Kate immediately jumped up and ran for the restroom, happy that her wedding dress had a nice long slit on one side, since it was so form fitting.
Martha and Lanie followed behind her with crackers and ginger ale. For Kate dinner was going to have to be something that she missed tonight.
With the food gone Kate could return and partake in the cutting of the cake. Kate however only tasted it carefully due to her finicky stomach.
Next came the throwing of the bouquet and the shooting of her garter. Rick had allowed his hands to go just a little higher than was necessary embarrassing her and getting her to tell Rick he would pay for that later tonight.
Rick and Kate were escorted out to the waiting limo that was under heavy guard. They had an escort blocks long all the way to the hotel waiting for them.
Six uniform officers cleared the room they were staying in and Jack had the FBI Swat team that had attended the wedding remain behind at the hotel. No one got anywhere near their room without first being stripped searched, or so it seemed.
Rick meanwhile was inside slowly undressing while Kate's dress came off quickly. Rick was soon dangling a pair of handcuffs from his fingers. "Was it the wedding of your dreams?"
"It was more than my dreams, I love you so much." Kate tells him turning to look at him and noticing the handcuffs for the first time.
"Then I guess all that is left is to make the wedding night just as memorable." Rick tells her pulling out the only red licorice whip he has left.
Kate almost had an orgasm on the spot.
Why no one came crashing through their doors from all of Kate's screaming remained a mystery forever.
The next morning Rick and Kate woke to find that it had snowed 3 to 4 inches that night. They had missed having snow on their wedding day by just one lousy day.
Still it made the morning after very magical. Rick and Kate couldn't resist standing there and stare at it.
It was like a brand new virgin day.
Rick and Kate gathered up Alexis and Martha, loaded up their Range Rover while Rick put on the snow chains that came with the SUV when they bought it, and drove home. They were the only ones out on the road.
The first ones to drive wherever they went. The snow was even deeper the closer to home they got.
When they got home Rick noticed that the power was off in the whole area, except for their home. Rick's generator was doing its job and was paying for itself.
Alexis and Sparky went outside to play in the snow while Rick and Kate held each other and watched thru the huge windows that make up their home.
"I'm receiving a download from the operator." Jill interrupts them.
"So am I." Jack confirms.
"No rest for the weary." Rick dead pans.
"What have we got Jill?" Kate asks sounding tired.
"There are first class air tickets for four starting Friday this week. They include Alexis and Martha." Jill tells them.
Kate and Rick look at each other confused.
"There is a reservation for four to Atlantis." Jack tells them.

"Of course he does. Ready to save the planet Mrs. Castle?" Rick asks her giving her a quick kiss.
"With you at my side I'll always be ready Mr. Castle." Kate kisses him back.
