"WORLD OF MAGIC"
Byron
After having an embarrassing moment when you realized that your father is a half light-a ghost and you open your arms and embrace him. Well, imagine what happens, my hands landed on my shoulders instead. My dad and I laughed after. Dad's soul began to fade away and he has a time limit here in this world; he's going back to Shadowland.
"Wait, can I ask you something before you leave?" I ask as Dad's eyes are on me. "How come the New Order never found out that we exist? I mean, they check every room in the house and they didn't find anything that another Salvatore still exists?"
"It's because of magic, my son." He says, "Anything's possible with magic…" he fades away shortly, leaving me alone in the throne room.
"Byron."
I turn around and the Lightning Wizard appears far from me.
"Follow me. I have to explain something to you." He says.
"About what exactly?"
He didn't answer me; instead he turns around and exits the throne room. I sigh and follow his orders instead. I followed him until we get to a big balcony. It's wide, rounded and open. He leans his arms on the railings and gazes the horizon. I, on the other hand, stop on the middle of the balcony area and ask "Why are we here anyway?"
"This is where I learn about the world of magic," He replies, "and I wanted to share a brief knowledge about it."
"Why is that?" I ask.
"First, your dad told me to discuss about this before you transform back to a weasel. Second, the new Order never told this to you because they wanted Necromancy the only magic in this world and the last one, you are a Magician. You must know a brief knowledge of the world of magic. This is just a brief lecture and a discussion, so lend me your ears. Understood?"
I nod "Yes, sir."
"There are five types of magic," he explains "Witchcraft, Alchemy, Enchanting, Necromancy and Sorcery."
"WITCHCRAFT, True and Brave, is magic done by wizards and witches. They have the powers of the four basic elements which is fire, water, air and earth and other main elements and powers, but an individual can only achieve one or none of the four basic elements and five other elements for lower-class and ten other elements for higher-class." He explains.
"You are a wizard, aren't you?" I ask suddenly. "So are you a lower or higher class?"
"Boy, I'm a lower-class. I have the abilities of reading minds, fusing gas, creating energy balls, teleporting and calling upon lightning. I don't have any of the basic four elements."
"Y-You do-don't-" I stutter.
"Don't focus of what powers an individual has, but his skills and abilities." He says. "That's why I became a strong warrior during the Neone Ordaseille Rebellions."
He continues "Their magic is not hereditary, but it is shared by touching or giving their magic to a Normal or a Magician. Not all or none of their power can be inherited by a wizard to an individual."
"Wait I don't get this." I puzzle. "Can you please explain me in normal English?"
He sighs and continues, "Let's say I touch you, there is a 50/50 chance that my magic will be shared to you. Now, if it is shared, you will not receive the same powers that I have. You may have the power of my energy balls, but not my lightning. In another case, you may have lightning and you also have the power of water, even though water is not one of my powers."
"Oh I see…" I nod and understand his explanation.
"Wizards and witches live here in Wiccun Nationae, translated to Witchcraft Nation. Today, it is now called Duvenele Village. Their magical item is the Omni-orb; it can only be operated and used only in the center of the throne room and an individual can use it once in his or her lifetime."
I nod. "You said that you can use the Omni-orb once in your lifetime?"
"That is correct. You have done yours a while ago. Never in your life you can you use it again." He says. "Shall I continue my discussion on our next topic?"
"Yes you may." I say.
"ALCHEMY, Unique and United, is magic operated by alchemists. They have the powers of only the minor, weird and rare powers; they could not handle the basic four."
"Hold your horses." I cut. "May I ask, what are weird and rare powers? I never encounter that."
"Weird and rare powers are very strange powers. Their powers can be the power of rain, paper, seasons, winter, frogs, bricks, glass, reptiles and etc. There are a lot of rare powers of an Alchemist that no other magician can achieve."
"Wow. I never knew that it was possible."
"Yes, Byron," he says and continues his lecture "an Alchemist can handle one to five powers only. Their powers are not hereditary nor it is shared, but their types and number of magic depends on a book which is also known as Alchemy Book."
"What does it do?"
"The Alchemy Master, the guardian to the Alchemy Book, shows the individual a page in the book without looking. Then, a puzzle or a riddle appears on that page. There is no particular answer to the riddle or puzzle. You just have to answer it; they will take you first answer only."
"No particular answer?" my eyebrow goes up.
"If you have a reasonable answer, then you have a great amount of alchemy. If not, you will still receive alchemy but in a small amount." He explains. "Let's continue; Alchemists live in Alchemedes Impirei, translated to Alchemedes's Empire. Their main item is called The Stone of Alchemedes. It has the power to resurrect the dead if you completed the key to the puzzle."
"Did they resurrect anyone yet?" I ask.
"No. They haven't." he says.
