A/N: Oh, hey, look: an AU for this set.

Inspired by a post Suguelya made over on tumblr. =)

One of the unwritten rules of the universe was that rainy Sunday mornings were made for sleeping in. Listening to the sound of the rain pelting the windows, Yuri stretched, soaking in the warmth pooled beneath the sheet. Beside him, Flynn curled a little closer. His hand brushed ticklishly over Yuri's stomach, putting an end to his stretching and forcing him to stifle a laugh. They settled more comfortably around each other and Flynn sighed softly against Yuri's neck. His hair tickled Yuri's cheek and poked into his ear until he had to turn his face away.

Sinking into the cozy comfort, Yuri tried to let the hypnotic murmur of the rain lull his mind back towards sleep. It wasn't as easy as he'd hoped. They had a lot they needed to get done today—errands and chores—and it was the first day off they'd had together in a while. As much as he liked the idea of just sleeping in with Flynn, it seemed like sort of a waste. When was the last time they'd even been able to go to the gym together?

Opening his eyes, he watched the clean gray of the rain streaking down the window panes, catching bits of light and reflections of trees in their depths. His room was dim and dull in comparison to even the wan light that made it past the storm. Thunder rumbled in the distance and a gust of wind sent the rain splattering momentarily heavier against his window.

They were going to get soaked when they went out later if it didn't let up. It was probably cold, too. He turned his face back toward Flynn, nuzzling into the nest of blond bedhead. It was warm and nice beneath the covers where the storm couldn't get them and that stupid argument they'd gotten into last night had been left behind. The minutes passed them by, slow and steady and silent so that Yuri couldn't keep track of how long he indulged in the peace he'd woken to. Again, he tried to let himself drift off and, again, the pull of time anchored him.

Abruptly, he turned his face away from Flynn to stare up at the ceiling. He ought to get up. He needed to get up. Everything he'd meant to get done called to him, clamoring for attention. If it wasn't for Flynn, he would already be up. It was rare for Flynn to want to sleep in though, and Yuri wondered if he could get up without disturbing him.

Easier considered than done. Flynn had an arm and a leg flung over him. No way was Yuri going anywhere without waking him up. Maybe Flynn could just go right back to sleep, though. He'd already done it once.

Carefully, he tried to slip free. He barely had time for a wave of goosebumps as he pushed the covers back before Flynn was tightening his hold and pulling him closer.

"Hey," Yuri said quietly. "Let me up."

Eyes still closed, Flynn shook his head and made a pillow of Yuri's shoulder.

"You can sleep a bit longer, but I'm getting up."

There was no response, and no easing of the hold he was wrapped in.

"Let go and I'll make us breakfast."

The bribe didn't work. Flynn held on fast, and Yuri quit talking and started squirming. He ended up on his stomach, pressed into the mattress with Flynn half on top of him. Even mostly asleep, he was a formidable opponent, and Yuri couldn't help laughing into the pillow.

"Come on, Flynn. We were actually supposed to get stuff done today."

There was a soft groan from behind him that changed unexpectedly to humming. It took Yuri a moment to recognize the melody.

"Oh, God, Flynn—"

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..."

Voice roughed by sleep, Flynn sang softly, barely above the whisper of the rainstorm outside. His nose was pressed against the base of Yuri's neck, and his breath was warm even through the fabric of his t-shirt. Yuri curled around the arm Flynn had flung over his side and hid his face in the pillow.

"You make me happy when skies are gray. You'll never know, dear, how much I love you."

Yuri could feel his ears burning. More fool him for getting romantically involved with a closet romantic.

"Please don't take my sunshine away."

"I get it." His voice was muffled by the pillow, but he didn't lift his head. "Change of plans. We'll sleep in."

"Mmm."

Following the pleased little hum, Yuri felt lips brush the back of his neck. It was just a single, brief kiss, then Flynn was settling in contentedly behind him. He gave Yuri one quick squeeze, then relaxed, happy simply to have him warm in his arms for just a little longer while the rain poured down outside.

Yuri gave in. The to-do list would get taken care of eventually. There would be time later to visit the gym. For the moment, it was still Sunday morning and it was still raining. In the rules that governed the universe, that meant it was a day made for sleeping in. He gave up the fight, made himself comfortable, and drifted off with his concerns soothed away as Flynn's quiet singing echoed in his mind.
