Dean sat lazily on one of the bunker's couch with Cas' arm thrown over his shoulders around his neck. Sam had told his brother earlier that he was going out somewhere with Gabriel so Dean knew there was no fear of his baby bro catching him and his angel being all cosy together. "So, do you think we should tell Sam and Gabe?" Dean asked his new boyfriend.
"Tell them what?" Cas asked confused, tilting his head slightly in true Castiel fashion.
"You know, about us." Dean answered.
"Why would they want to know?" Cas looked towards Dean as he spoke.
"Well they might think it's a bit strange if they just walk by and we're making out randomly. They might have a freak out. And even if they don't freak out they'll probably start asking us all sorts of questions and your brother is going to be even more annoying than usual." Dean paused for a second, sighing. "If that's even possible." He finished.
"Oh, uh okay then. Although, I thought you would be more bothered about them knowing, considering your reputation for being very anti-gay about things." Cas questioned, intrigued by Dean's sudden change in personality.
Dean's face turned to hurt and shock, "What?! I'm not 'anti-gay' about anyone! I mean I'm friends with Charlie aren't I? And anyway you're not technically a guy 'cause you're an angel so it's not that gay."
"Well you seemed pretty against it when Gabriel admitted to being attracted to Sam." Castiel piped up.
"Cas, that's completely different. That's got nothing to do with sexuality and everything to do with the fact that Sammy is my little brother so it's my job to look after him, especially when it involves protecting him from evil tricksters who could, and have tried to kill him and me before."
"Yes, I will admit that my brother can be a-" Cas paused for a moment trying to think of a way to describe Gabriel in a way Dean would be familiar with, "-pain in the ass. However, that doesn't mean that you're not a bit homophobic sometimes. I've heard some of the things you've said to people in the past Dean. "
"I'm not homophobic! That's just insulting, Cas. Remember that you are my angel boyfriend now which means there's no way I can be homophobic, dude." Dean looked downright offended as he spoke, his mouth wide open in shock.
"Dean, you're the one who just said I'm an angel and not technically a man so 'it's not gay.'" Castiel used air quotation marks along with his words to emphasize what he was saying to Dean.
"Yeah, well whatever, man. I'm an enigma, get over it. Anyway you still haven't answered me, Cas, do you think we should tell them or not?" Although Dean was the one pushing for an answer, he was secretly hoping that Cas would say no to his suggestion, after all he didn't want his reputation as a ladies man being ruined.
Castiel looked over at Dean before answering, trying to figure out what the hunter was thinking. Dean seemed a little off at his last question, maybe even a bit worried but Castiel decided to ignore it for the moment. "If you want to, Dean. Like you said before, you're the one with experience in matters such as these. This is still all new to me." Cas looked Dean straight in the eyes as he spoke silently letting his boyfriend know that he could tell him what he honestly wanted.
"I know I am, Cas but you need an opinion on this shit too, man." Dean answered.
Castiel didn't seem bothered by what Dean was saying, he was more interested in the beautiful green depths of Dean's eyes and seemed to be almost entranced by them. "I have an opinion Dean, just not on the matter at hand." It was Dean's turn to look confused as Cas spoke until the angel started talking again. "Can I kiss you again, Dean? It was a pleasant experience and I wish to do it again."
Dean started laughing at that. "Dude, you don't need to ask me if you want to kiss me that's just full on weird. But yes, I give you my permission, you may stick your tongue down my throat." Dean smirked and looked at Cas, waiting for him to kiss him but instead he received a typical Castiel face of yet again confusion, probably something to do with how humans don't have long enough tongues to reach into someone's throat and why you would even want to do that in the first place. To avoid another whole conversation of 'it's just a phrase,' Dean spoke up so he could get on with the making out. "Not literally, Cas."
That seemed enough to satisfy the angel so he went back to his original task of making out with Dean. They both got comfortable on the sofa and started to enjoy just being a couple, alone and making out, with no monsters attacking or chasing them and no Sam and Gabe to tease them.
After a while of making out, the hunter and his angel broke apart so they could actually breathe for a bit. Castiel decided to speak up about what had been bothering him earlier. "Dean, I know this has got to be really weird for you, you know dating a guy. It is strange for me as I have never been in a relationship before but I also understand that this is completely different for you as well." Cas paused nervously as he turned to fully face the hunter.
The expression on Dean's face suddenly changed completely as he listened to what Castiel was saying. He knew what the angel was referring to and although he didn't want to have this conversation, he knew it was important to both Cas and their relationship to discuss this. "We've been through this, Cas. I know I have never dated a guy before but to be honest I've only really ever dated two people before, the rest were just one night stands. You know that so what's wrong?"
"That's exactly the problem, Dean. You mainly have one night stands or flings and they've only ever been with women. That's two huge problems for me right there! I might not know much about relationships but I know enough about you that if you see something pretty that you like, you're going to go after it." As Cas paused, Dean opened his mouth to object but before he could, Castiel shushed him by carrying on speaking. "I really like you, Dean, and I'm not used to this feeling at all, so I don't want it ruined by you suddenly realising that you don't want to be dating a man and that you'd rather be off chasing some chick."
"Cas, I know I've had a lot of flings in the past and I've banged a hell of a lot of chicks, but you of all people should know that I've changed now, that I don't want to wake up in the morning and see some random girl leaving my bed. I want an actual loving relationship with someone who I care about. And believe me, I care about you; so much so that I didn't even realise was possible. I want you, Cas, nobody else." Hearing Dean say that made Castiel feel a lot more relieved and he visibly relaxed next to his boyfriend. Dean sensed Cas was a lot less worried so he relaxed next to him and tangled their legs together on the sofa. "Where did all of that come from anyway, Cas?"
"Because of our conversation earlier about whether we should tell Sam and Gabriel. I can tell you don't want to tell them. I don't want it to be because you're worried about losing your reputation for being such a womanizing man who shags who he wants. If you don't want to tell them, I want it to be because of my brother and how annoying he is. But preferably I would want you to not care if we tell them or not." Castiel stated bluntly, telling Dean exactly what he wanted.
"Okay." Dean answered. "You're gonna have to give me some time to get used to this though, but I get where you're coming from and I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong impression about not being completely interested in you and only you, because trust me, Cas, I only care about you now, those other girls mean absolutely nothing to me, honestly." Dean spoke truthfully as he gazed into Castiel's bright blue eyes and leant in to kiss him.
A moment later Castiel broke apart from Dean's kiss and looked into the windows to Dean's soul. He saw that he was indeed being truthful and as caring as he seemed to be so he leant closer to Dean to whisper to him. "I believe you, Dean. And never doubt how much I care for you also." Castiel smiled slightly as he leaned ever further towards his boyfriend. "I think we should probably do some of that making out again, before our brothers return." Cas spoke with a slightly mischievous smile as he began kissing the hunter again.
