AN: Hey babes! Look another chapter of happiness. I did add Gemma to this one...because well it had to happen sometime. But ignore that by seeing the playfulness of the two :D Anyways, I hope y'all are healing a bit and I've heard wonderful things from all of you. I'll glad that my story and other Jax/Tara stories are helping you out. That's all us writers want. I love you all, keep reading and reviewing. -Lanie xx
Tara had spent the day with Jax at the clubhouse; she got to meet some of the guys finally. Though her favorite was still Piney, there was just something that she loved about him. He seemed like a father figure. Jax was in trouble with her though because it got sprung on her that tonight she's going to dinner at his house. She groaned at the memory, she didn't know if she was quite ready for this yet.
….
Clay walked over to the pair and Opie and held out his hand for her to take. Being polite she took his hand and was taken aback that his grip wasn't stronger. She was most nervous about meeting him. Not only was he the president of the club; he was also Jax's stepfather. Tara worried about what he would think of her. She wanted his family to like her. Opie excused himself and walked over to a man with fluffy hair… eh Tig, maybe? She knew their names she just needed to place their faces to them.
"It's nice to finally you." He told her as he gave Jax a look…of approval?
"You as well, Mr. Morrow, I've heard a lot about you."
"Clay." He insisted, "Only the good things I hope."
Tara laughed nervously. She had heard stories around town on what Clay was capable of. She hoped that she would never had to experience them firsthand. Jax sense her uneasiness and gave her a hand a squeeze before dropping it to wrap his arm around her. He smirked at Clay, and she wondered what that was about. She'd have to ask him later.
"Nothing bad." She quipped.
He smiled down at her and nodded. "I hear you're coming to dinner tonight?"
Tara's face fell looked at him quizzing. "I a-" She trailed off as she looked at Jax.
He nodded and replied for her. "Yes, she'll be over for dinner tonight. Y'know what ma's cooking?"
"I think she said something about meatloaf but I ain't sure."
….
Listening to the radio she faintly heard a knock at the door, though he Dad was much closer so she figured that she would just let him get it. It was most likely one of his drinking buddies anyways. She heard muffled voices and guessed that she was right about it being for him. But she was wrong, she could tell that he was in the room before he moved or made a sound. It was like she could just sense his presence these days. Tara felt him crawl over her and she opened her eyes to look at him.
"What're you doing here?" She asked with a smiled as she threw her arms around his neck.
"I figured I'd spend some time with you before you gotta be at my place."
"Speaking of, why didn't you tell me? Or ask me for that matter."
"I was going to.. I just didn't want you to freak out."
"Not telling me is getting you the same reaction. "
"Can I make it up to you?" He smirked down at her.
Tara pulled him closer to her and looked at him thoughtfully. "Depends on how."
He leaned down and brushed his lips against hers softly. Not happy with that sort of attention, she tangled her fingers in his hair and pulled him closer to her, pressing her lips against his harder than he had. She felt him groan into the kiss and he moved his hands to her hips, his hands trailing upwards, her shirt going with. As soon time passed, Tara broke the kiss and began to place kisses along his jaw, occasionally nipping down on the skin.
Jax moved his hand up and kneaded her breast through her clothes; he smirked when he heard her hum in response. He loved how responsive Tara was, it made messing with her so much more fun. He moved so she couldn't kiss him anymore and kissed her collar bone. He moved his head down and bit her through her clothing. Jax smiled at her gasp and moved his hands to push her shirt upwards. Leaving it folded at her chest he trailed kisses along her stomach and stopped as he got to waist band of her pants. He leaned back over her and gave her a chastise kiss. Tara let out a frustrated sigh and moved her hips up, her core hitting his clad erection.
"Baby, stop, we don't have time for this."
"Sure we do."
"We have to be at my house soon."
"We can just skip dinner."
"No."
"Please Jackson, I want you." She whispered against his lips.
He groaned as she moved her hips up against him once more. If she didn't stop, he would have to take care of himself before dinner. His fucking girl knew what she was doing.
"Later." He brushed his lips against hers. "I." He kissed her again, softly. "Promise." Jax kissed her one last time before moving off of her.
He looked down to see her pouting at him. So maybe teasing her wasn't the best idea. But she'd get over it. Tara could scream his name later, anyways her Dad was home and he didn't want that to ever happen to them again. Especially now that they were actually sexually active.
…
Jax looked down at her as he reached the front door, she looked nervous. Fuck if it was him, he'd be nervous. His mother could be terrifying and he's sure she's heard all of the horror stories around town. He needed tonight to go well. He opened the door and led her inside. He gave her a little tour that ended in the kitchen.
"Hey ma."
Gemma was leaning over the counter and working on dinner. She looked up and when her eyes landed on Tara, she looked at her head from tow and pursed her lips. "Gemma." She introduced herself. "And you're the girl that's stolen my sons heart away from me."
Tara looked down and swallowed the lump in her throat as she heard Jax scold his mom. Once he was done, she looked back up, finding herself calm again. It was different from the time that they met outside of the store. She wasn't intimidated then because her and Jax weren't together. Now she wanted the woman's approval.
"I supposed that is me. I'm Tara Knowles." She gave her a smile.
"Nice to meet you. Dinner will be ready in about 15, show her around. " She told Jax, impassively. "If. If you go to your room, leave the door open."
"Yes Ma'am." Jax laughed and kissed her cheek. "Smells good."
"Get outta here."
Tara smiled at how they were together. He seemed to really love his mother and vise versa. It was clear that they were close. She felt a pang in her heart as he pulled her out of the kitchen. She wanted a relationship like that with a parent. But her Dad would never be that way, that loving.
Jax led her to his room and she smiled as she looked around. She'd been here once before but that was briefly. When she saw that the model bike still had a place, she smiled. Tara felt his eyes on her and looked towards him.
"It's hard to believe I gave you that almost two months ago."
"I think I loved you then." He admitted.
Tara didn't recognize the noise that she made. He just told her he loved her, not directly but it was there.
"Did you—"
"DINNER." She heard a male voice yell, Clay she assumed.
Jax let out a sigh. "That wasn't 15 minutes. C'mon let's do this."
Tara didn't know how her own legs carried her back downstairs, she was in shock over the confession that he about made. She felt it too though. Tara was madly in love with Jackson Nathaniel Teller. It was only a matter of time before she said it aloud.
When she saw the big table, she smiled. They must have had the club over often if the three of them needed a table that big. Jax nodded at the spot next to him, and she sat down. They all dished up and began to eat in near silence. Except Gemma would ask Jax little questions, it was only a matter of time before she was asking her question.
"So Tara, what's your family like?" Clay asked her.
Tara swallowed the food in her mouth before speaking. "It's only my dad and me now."
"One of the town drunks, Clay." Gemma added for her.
"Mom!" Jax said in warning. Tara bit her lip, she knew this wasn't going to be easy.
"Uh, yes, my Dad's taken to drinking ever since my mom passed away."
"That can't be easy for a teenager to deal with."
"I make the best of it, sir." She added formally, this wasn't something she enjoyed to talk about.
They asked her about more things, to get to know her a bit more. Like her favorite subjects and books. She even got to talk about her wanting to be a doctor. His parents seemed impressed by that fact.
"Uh yeah, I've always wanted to. My mom was diagnosed with cancer when I was 6 and her doctor made me realize what was going on and taught me what everything did. Peaked my interest."
"I'm not sure you can become a doctor here in Charming." Gemma egged on.
"Well I'm sure at some point, I'll have to leave."
Tara could feel the grip on the back of her chair tighten. She hadn't thought about it since they started dating. Maybe she could just go to school nearby, be close to him. The thought of being without him hurt her.
The rest of the time went well, they continued to talk. She got to learn more about each of them to. Clay was more than willing to tell her all about stories that Jax found embarrassing, she even thought she saw him blush at one of them. Then it happened..
"I want to talk to Tara alone."
"Mom is that—"
"Don't Jackson." She scolded her son, he nodded his head.
Gemma led her to the backyard, it was huge. Tara could almost imagine Jax running around there as a little boy, another little boy by his side. They sat down on the deck sitting and she placed her hands in her lap.
"I'll be honest, you weren't what I expected."
"Good or bad?"
"A little of both."
"But let's be clear. You don't fit well with this lifestyle. The life that my son want. . Something's gotta change sweetheart." She told her smugly. "You aren't what people expect the future of SAMCRO to want. You can't fill my shoes someday."
Tara stayed silent knowing that it wasn't over yet.
"And if you ever hurt my son, I'll make sure that is the last thing you do."
With that she got up and walked away, Jax coming out soon. Tara didn't let him know what had been said. They stayed outside for a little while longer before she asked him to take her home, promises of later forgotten.
…
She woke up way to happy for a Monday morning. That's what spending her weekends with him did to her though. It wasn't until that morning that she realized she was spending more time on her makeup and hair than she ever had before. She came to realize that she wanted to look her best for him. Make people believe that she belonged in his arms, especially Gemma.
Getting to school she walked past one bike but it wasn't the right one, it would surely do for the time being though. As she walked into the school, she spotted him. Tara walked over to Opie and looped her arm through his.
"Someone's in a great mood today." He let out a full bellied laugh. "Didcha get laid?"
"Yeah I had an early morning quickie." She winked.
Opie nodded at her and moved away from her reached as she felt two arms wrap around him. Of course he'd take that moment to get to school. He has impeccable timing. Tara giggled as she felt him growl in her ear.
"You had better hope that didn't happen babe. No one touches what's mine." He whispered to her possessively.
She gave Opie a shrug and wiggled out of Jax's arms. "Guess I must have dreamed it."
"Better."
She rolled her eyes in response and changed the conversation. "Are you guys ready to find out who are English partners are?"
"Only you could go from sex to English that quickly." Opie said.
Jax nodded his head in agreement as the bell rang.
"Someone's gotta keep you two in line. Come on, let's go."
She held Jax's hand and wrapped her arm around Opie's neck, which was nearly impossible now. He's grown like 4 inches since she's met him. The three walk to class together, Tara not giving a shit the looks they were receiving.
They took their spots, she felt bad that Opie was all the way in the back corner. It would be perfect if he was closer to her and Jax. Tara was slowly coming to realize that Opie was becoming one of her closest friends. Anna was also in that class but she never gave her much attention because was always chatting up Ima. Leave it to her best friend to try and get in with the school slut.
Their teacher started to hand out progress reports and Tara barely looked at hers, she knew that it was an A, a 97% to be exact. Though she knew Jax was struggling a bit so she leaned over to see what it was. She let out a barely audible gasp when she saw that his used to be F is now almost at a C. Jax turned to her and shrugged.
"I've got a good tutor and I like writing and books well enough."
Tara smiled brightly at him before turning her attention to their teacher. They were getting partners today, on a presentation they'd have to make on a book of their choice, well a book that was on the assigned list. She was actually kind of happy about this, she liked getting to work with others and meshing two different point of views together.
"Anna and Noel." She noticed her best friend turn back to her and pout, Tara laughed and tilted her head and shrugged a shoulder.
"David S. and Ryan."
"Abby and David H." Tara noticed the look of longing that David Hale gave her, Tara felt uncomfortable with that so she continued to watch the teacher."
"Jackson and Harry."
"Tara and Ima." Hearing her named paired with Ima's she let out a soft groan. This was going to be hell and there was no way out of it. Ima's hand shot up and the teacher only shook his head. He already knew what was going to be said.
Tara leaned over the side of her desk so she could whisper to Jax. "How did you get your best friend and I got the fucking whore?" She pouted.
He leaned over and whispered in her ear. "You'll do fine." He kissed by her ear and sat up straight.
Ima gave her a glare and Tara plastered a fake smile on her face. Once Ima turned away her face fell into a look of disapproval, she heard Jax try to cover his laugh with a cough. He was making fun of her. 'What a bastard!' She thought to herself. She crossed her arms across her chest. Though she knew by the end of class, she'll be in his arms and all will be good except for the fact she has to work with Ima. Now that will be hell.
