"Miranda!?" Clive knocked on the door softly.
Miranda tried sitting up, but couldn't.
"No, no, stay comfy" Stevie added rushing in and helping her lay back down.
"What's going on...?" Miranda asked confused.
Stevie sat on the chair next to the bed, Clive sat on the end of the bed.
"What...? Is it Gary...!?"
Clive nodded, "He woke up"
Miranda started to smile, "well let's go see him then!"
"Its not as simple as that" Stevie added. "He started fitting..."
Miranda started to cry. "And how is he!?"
"They won't let us in..." Clive shook his head sympathetically.
Miranda carried on crying.
half an hour later
Penny and Charles had turned up and they where all squashed into Miranda's room.
Stevie sat on Clive's lap to allow room for everyone else.
Clive sat chewing on his nails. "I can't do with this" he moaned and everyone looked at him. "Watch out" he tapped on Stevie's back and stood up, walking out of the room and down towards Gary's.
"Clive"
Clive quickly span around as he heard the doctor's voice.
"What's going on, is he OK?!"
The doctor shook his head; "walk with me"
Clive obediently followed.
"Gary has suffered a post traumatic fit. Which means, as his body has repaired his mind must have relived the ordeal, and his body couldn't cope, causing him to fit..."
"So, is he going to get better!?.. "
"So far we've had to sudate him, put him on a drip, and give him lots of different medication."
"Will he wake up...?!"
The doctor shook his head, "honestly?"
Clive stopped "honest"
"We've no idea, but at the moment its looking doubtful..."
Tears sprang to Clive's eyes.
"I'm sorry. But if he doesn't pull through, your the best to tell them all."
Clive took a massive sigh, "How are we supposed to go on without him!?" he covered his face, tears pouring down it.
"Where at the last hurdle now"
"Its all or nothing" clive sat on a bench outside, the doctor beside him.
"I wouldn't have put it like that but basically..."
Clive sighed and looked around, they'd walked all the way through the hospital and were outside in the gardens.
"Im going to have to go. Other patients to see. Just, keep hoping, like I say, where at the last hurdle now..." he rested his hand on Clive's shoulder for a moment.
"Thanks"
"I'll be around again in an hour or two, but it'd be a good idea to take Miranda through, just in case..."
Clive nodded and the doctor left.
