"It's a question of timing," Albus Severus Potter said with a thoughtful expression on his face. "We need to think about telling them about it at the right time really."
"And when do you propose the right time is?" his boyfriend asked from the other side of the bed. "You Slytherin's have to make things so complicated."
Albus gave his boyfriend, or more accurately, fiancé as of last night, a frown. Technically they were both adults. Technically, they were old enough to go ahead and get married on their own and damn the world. But technically didn't count for much when it came to matters of family. And despite his frequent attempts to distance himself from being like his father, Albus still wanted his family there at his wedding and in his life.
"Family is complicated," Albus grumbled with a frown. "I don't think they worry about which way I swing. Merlin knows they accepted Lily and her girlfriend easily enough, but…"
"But they would think I'm too old for you," his boyfriend-slash-fiancé said with a grim smile. "They could be right you know. I'm old enough to be your father."
Albus grabbed the older man and stared angrily into his eyes.
"You listen to me, Ernie MacMillan. I. Am. In. Love. With. You. I want to spend the rest of my days with you, in sickness and in health. Don't you DARE say you're too old for me!" Albus snapped, before pulling the man's lips onto his and kissed him with a hungry desire that sought fulfilling. But before they could go any further, Albus pulled away and smiled. "And now we have to figure out how to tell your family without them jinxing me into next year."
