sunshine-and-cronuts: Kensi and Deeks during a power outage!
"Oh my god," he breathes into the darkness. "Kens? KENSI! KENSI WHERE ARE YO-"
"What the hell are you doing, Deeks?!" she exclaims, running into their bedroom with a flashlight, which she immediately shines on his face.
He squints at her, lifting a hand to shield his eyes. "I thought you were, like… dead, or something!"
Her forehead crinkles. "Why would I be dead? The power's out, that's all."
"I dunno. I mean, the power never goes out. I went straight to horror-film scenarios."
"So… someone broke into our house, turned off all the lights so you wouldn't notice and then murdered me?"
He shrugs. "It was a stretch, I'll give you that."
Kensi snorts. "Yeah, I can tell. Here-" she says, tossing him a flashlight from across the room. "-don't roam blindly, okay? I don't want you to stub your toe and start crying."
He feigns laughter and follows her out of the room. "You know, I'm just protective, that's all. Only someone like you would get pissed off by something like that."
She spins around in the hallway, eyebrows lifted. "What do you mean by someone like-"
Suddenly the ground starts to shake beneath them. Deeks looks to Kensi with wide eyes and yells, "EARTHQUAKE!" before grabbing her hand and pulling the both of them back into the bedroom. They drop to their feet and get beneath the bed.
"I think this explains the lights not working!" Deeks yells, having to speak up in order to be heard over the sound of the rattling furniture in their home.
Kensi doesn't seem phased, and looks down to her right hand- which he's still holding. She smiles. "I thought you didn't get out of bed for anything less than a six?"
He shakes his head and winks. "Normally, yes. But I've gotta protect you, my dear."
